In fact, standing there and looking around, as much as Lafayette wanted to get a closer look at the rocket, he just wasn’t going to have the chance. He could already see bodies shifting in the distance to come and see what the noise was about. Had he tripped an alarm? It looked like an ordinary chain link fence to him but he didn’t have much of a choice but to turn and climb right back over. He hit the ground with an ‘oof’ and quickly scrambled to his feet, swiping his shirt free of some dirt before quickly rushing away. A new region, but the same game. Sotnik was honestly getting wary, and even Boo was starting to slow down a bit, which let Stranny sort of take the lead (with Sotnik's instructions, of course) on searching for the egg. Zak, meanwhile, was still absently reading. There was a lot of information he needed to pull, and for the time being, he seemed to have the luxury of time. Zak smirked a bit, but not just at his own assessment of the man, but at the amount of information he was slowly starting to pull up. There were the basics, like where he was born, but soon he'd have a decent outline of the man's life, assuming his family had stayed official and hadn't lived too "off the books". Where he went to school, his parents, if he had siblings, if he was married, if he had any children of his own-- he sort of doubted it. From his date of birth, he seemed to only be a couple years or so older than Zak.

And here was, perhaps, where Zak's strength, became his weakness. Because he tended to occasionally take too much interest in the people, rather than the job. He woudl still pull information, of course -- he wouldn't have a job otherwise -- and he was good at what he did, and he was thorough, and relatively reliable. But he tended to take on the pet project of analyzing the individuals themselves. It was his hobby to mess with them, and though it rarely got him into trouble thanks to Imperium (either stepping in, or pulling him back), they did view it as a waste of time. He found it fun. Amusing. Besides, while he hardly liked people, per se (he was technically an introvert by nature), there were some that could be... interesting. Scarlett, for instance. And perhaps this Ashley fellow, though possibly not. Either way, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have more information on him.

Saving some of Ashley's information to his folder, Zak switched back to the Interpol files. His pokemon kept themselves busy searching for the egg, and Zak-- glanced over as he got a message from Scarlett. "In a minutes, Mishka..." he muttered under his breath, closing the chat. He needed to focus at least so he could get to another stopping point. He still had quite a lot of information to sort through, and his pokemon, meanwhile, were getting closer to finding an egg.

In fact, they actually had found an egg, but they were.... struggling a bit to get it out. It was in a tree, too high for Sotnik -- which was saying something -- but wedged in so tightly that Rufflet was having a hard time prying it out, even using his beak and talons together. Boo moved up to try and help, and it wasn't until several minutes of the two of them strugglign together had passed, before it finally popped out. 'Nik quickly swept over and caught it, looking at them patient as he waited for them to recover. Rufflet glared a bit, while Boo just shook herself, before the trio turned to head back to their trainer, and move on to the next location.

Vince's smile faltered slightly as Olivia pushed to head straight for Sky Pillar. There won't be a next time.... Vince thought bitterly. While it was true Hoenn wasn't going anywhere, Vince knew that he had no plans to return here. At least... Not with Olivia. However, he couldn't push that argument without explaining why, so he simply forced his smile again. "Of course. You're right. We'll just make a short stop at Mossdeep then and press on." He agreed, hoping he didn't sound too disappointed.
He actually stumbled a bit when Olivia nudged him with her hip, checking in with his priorities. "Its my choice to risk myself, and I won't put my pokemon in danger if I can help it, but I won't allow you to follow me blindly into something dangerous without at least telling you what you're getting into." Vince reasoned. It paralleled a lot of things that hit home with the clans, and that was too close for comfort. Of course, Olivia insisted that she could take care of herself, and he believed her... To a certain extent. "I know. You're right, of course. I'm simply too much of a gentleman to allow a lady to get hurt on my account." Vince's tone was a light and teasing one, but he was curious to see how Olivia would react.
At least Olivia took his side when Yue tried to veer them off course, insisting that they'd be careful. "Of course. We'll be on our best behavior." He couldn't help shooting Yue a smug look, which was returned with an icy scowl, but it didn't remain long. The curious thing was that it quickly melted into a look of guilt and concern, yet she still remained stubbornly quiet on the matter. Vince supposed he would find out soon enough. Deciding to take a boat to Mossdeep and save their pokemon's strength for the trek to Sky Pillar, they moved out.
Vince was enthralled by the boat ride, standing on the bow and watching over the endless ocean as they cleanly cut through the waters. After spending so much time stuck in a landlocked Blackthorn, the only real experience he'd ever had with water was the lake in front of the Dragon's Den and the occasional beach trips that his family made during the summer. Hoenn sure had a lot more ocean than Johto, it seemed. ”Are you certain you don't even want to do a little looking around?” Vince asked Olivia one last time as they prepared their pokemon for the trip to Sky Pillar. He hoped to tempt her somehow, but felt like his silent pleas were falling on deaf ears. Not that he could blame the pinkette. Vince was the only one with the burden of knowing how finite their time really was. [Exit to Sky Pillar]
Raising an eyebrow towards Vince, Olivia took her time in responding while considering something. "I'll take a few snapshots of potential areas of interest, so that we'll have a reminder of what we want to visit for next time," she suggested, and as proof stopped walking long enough to dig her camera out. Zipping it shut, Olivia pulled herself to her feet, took the obligatory snap of Vince, then turned her gaze, and camera lens, to the streets. "What kind of souvenirs do you think the space station has?" Other than the photo she'd taken of Vince, she held back from taking any other photos as they continued moving through Lilycove; she had to save the majority of her film for Mossdeep, and its places of interest. Although she doubted they'd be able to see the space station, she'd make sure to compensate for it by snapping shots of curious shops, restaurants, and architecture; anything that caught her eye would be immediately immortalized by her camera.
Camera still in hand, she hummed at Vince's logic. "Well, consider me heavily informed," she quipped, then gave a thumbs up for good measure. In all honesty, she was grateful for his heads-up. It wasn't as if she'd planned to go gallivanting through the tall grass, but she knew next to nothing about Sky Pillar, and knowing beforehand of its potential dangers was beneficial. Olivia raised an eyebrow at Vince, a smirk already teasing the corners of her mouth, then inspected the 'gentleman' before her. "Mm, I guess that isn't too much of a stretch," she mused, then extended a hand out to his face. Palm-up, she rested her hand gently across his cheek, caressing it, before pulling back and, with her thumb and pointer finger, pinched his cheek playfully. "Your mother raised you well."
Releasing her hold on him with a laugh, Olivia gave one last sweep of the Lilycove streets then returned her camera to her, for now. But not before taking note of the looks Vince and Yue passed each other; they'd been acting weird since this morning, and not just with each other. "Hey." Lowering her voice, the pinkette gently tugged on the cuff of Vince's sleeve to grab his attention. "Is everything alright?" She kept the question open ended, concerned not just with the tension between trainer and pokemon, but with him in general. She wouldn't pry, and wouldn't press the issue if he brushed her question away with a neutral response.
She just wanted to... check in.
The boat ride made it easy for her to set her concerns aside, watching Vince look to the sea with such childlike wonder was amusing to say the least, and downright endearing. Olivia remained seated, herself, and took to rearranging her pokemon as they sailed ahead. "I am absolutely, positively certain," she assured once they'd reached their destination, camera making its Mossdeep debut, "I'm taking these 'to be returned to' pictures, remember?" He really did want to stick around, didn't he? Maybe Hoenn had cast its spell onto him.
"We can look at a few realtor websites when we get back," she teased as she behind Vince onto Wěi Hé. "You're still too young to rent, but I could be your co-signer. You're responsible enough to be a homeowner." With her arms wrapped around his waist she squeezed him gently, hoping her ridiculous proposal would get a laugh.
