My name? Well I've got two. My English name is Vincent Belduke, from my parent's attempts to integrate our family into the rest of the modern world. My Chinese name is Xiao Longwei, the hanzi are 小龍, in English, roughly it means "Little Dragon". I find my birth names to be embarrassing, especially when my grandparents call me Vinny. I suppose Vince isn’t too bad though, it's what my parents call me. I've got Dark Brown Hair though I've dyed the tips Red. My eye color is Amber, it runs in the family. Height wise I guess I'm Six Feet and Three Inches, and if you're really inclined to know my age, I'm Twenty One years old. My birthday is March 26th, and I weigh Two Hundred and Thirteen Pounds. I'm a bit on the heavy side purely because of my training regimen, I assure you. I have a Dragon Tattoo that wraps up my arm and covers the left half of my upper back. It's a family thing, I'd really rather not talk about it.
I'm not really that much of a conversationalist. I consider myself more of the Strong Silent type, though that doesn't mean I don't have anything to say. I'm very Opinionated on a lot of subjects, and I will express those opinions as I see fit. Don't like what I say? You're just going to have to deal with it. Once I've set my mind on something, very little can change it. I suppose I've got a bit of a Temper on me. Unfortunately, I'm just a fairly Impatient guy, and some things really set me off. Some people say that my tongue is as sharp as my wit. I'm very Instinctual, I go with my gut. If something doesn't feel right, I listen to that feeling. When it comes to training, be it my own, or my pokemon's, I'm very Militant. I expect the best. Some might call my methods Harsh, but I'm not training to make friends with my pokemon, I'm training to make them strong. Dragons are the only pokemon I'll work with, I refuse to train any other kind of pokemon. I'm skilled in Swordfighting, and though I practice it more as an art form, I can use it for self defense. You'll rarely see me without my Katana, try anything funny, and I won't hesitate to cut you down a size, literally. I don't take kindly to Betrayal, or deceitful behavior in general, but I'm not unreasonable. I understand that sometimes lies are necessary to protect the people we love, I just don't appreciate malicious intent.

Vince was born and raised in Blackthorn City to a family of prestigious dragon tamers, one of the many that inhabited the city. To know him better, you must understand their way of life. His ancestry is composed of 9 clans, the Qiuniu, Yazi, Chaofeng, Pulao, Suanni, Bixi, Bi'an, Baxia, and Chiwen make up the Sons of the Dragon. These dragon sons represent the lesser dragon types around the pokemon world. For instance, the Chiwen clan associates with Kingdra, the fish-like dragon, and the Baxia associate with Dragonair, the snake-like dragon. Along with their symbolic pokemon, each clan has a different set of traditions, and a mark, or tattoo to represent their clan. Vince is from the Yazi clan, who associate with Lunine, the wolf-like dragon due to their family lore and history as being part of the bloodline of the first boy to befriend a lunine. They are known for impeccable swordsmanship and ferocity, as such they brand their dominant arm with a dragon to represent the dragon's claws as they wield their sword. Vince's family tradition was to rise early in the morning to train their body, mind, spirit, and pokemon. They cooked and ate meals together in peace every morning, noon, and evening, and attended sermons by the city's elder in the Dragon's Den. It was quite clear from the very beginning that Vince was a true Yazi. He was passionate, determined, and preferred action over talk. He was a natural swordsman, and took to the art quickly, practicing with zeal each day. Unfortunately, he was also impatient and irritable like a typical Yazi as well. While his parents had mastered patience through meditation and experience, Vince was still quite young, stubborn and, in spite of his inexperience, had very strong opinions.
Over the course of his life, he held his tongue out of respect and an attempt to understand more before speaking out, but he disagreed with the elder's teachings. Friendship, love, compassion. He could see why these were valued traits in a bond between pokemon and trainer, however such things hindered the ability to battle effectively. It made both parties soft. Caring too much for your pokemon made you reluctant to push them to their full potential, afraid of being too hard on them. It spoiled them, and when it came to matters of life or death, it encouraged reckless sacrifice where neither party would be strong enough to protect the other. He wouldn't deny that there needed to be a bond forged between pokemon and trainer, but in his opinion, it shouldn't be formed on friendship, rather a partnership. Battling beside one another, that kindred spirit of two warriors fighting side by side. His ideology lay between the two sides that the elder preached. He didn't believe pokemon were simply tools for battle, but he also didn't expect or require his pokemon to be his friends. It wasn't necessary for battle. As long as they at least respected him, trained hard, and watched his back, he would treat them in kind.
Growing restless and troubled, his parents suggested that perhaps it was time to journey out of the city and seek out his own answers. Vince accepted gratefully, hoping that perhaps he might be able to prove his theory through his experiences and travels, plus taking a league challenge would be a good goal to work towards for him and his pokemon. Preparing for his journey, Vince has chosen the Kalos league as his goal. After all, there is a certain great aunt in the Kalos elite four that he hasn't seen in quite some time....

Vincent only works with dragons, whether they are dragon type, resemble a dragon physically, are from the dragon egg group, or are prospective dragons that may not start out with a dragon type but through training and evolution will gain dragon as a typing.
Secrets:
While Vince will train and raise any dragon type or prospective dragon, there is a few exceptions; the ampharos line and the Alolan exeggutor. He doesn't care what anyone says, he refuses to accept that mega ampharos or Alolan exeggutor are classified as part dragon.
Along with the dragon tattoo on his arm, Vince wears his family crest on a medalion around his neck.
Much like how lupup inherently know to be wary of humans, whether they are aware of their family history or not, it seems they also inherently know that Vince's family line is trustworthy, possibly because of their shared bloodline with the boy who befriended the first lunine.
Vince was in a relationship with a girl named Meili Chu of the Baxia clan for two years of his life, starting around when Vince was 17 and ending a few months after he turned 19. It was a fairly deep relationship that appeared to be heading towards engagement, but then ended quite suddenly, much to the surprise of Vince's family. Shortly after, Meili and her family moved away, and Vince tries to avoid the subject, or at least the details, as best he can. Most might assume it's because the subject is painful for him, and while that is true, there is another, bigger and darker truth behind Vince's aversion to the topic.
Yazi Clan Family Tree:
Historically, Vince's ancestry runs all over the map. The furthest it can be traced is descendants from one of the many warlords in the Ransei region's Dragnor kingdom (see Yazi clan for more details). Vince is one of five children, born of Xiulan and Saizo, his mother and father. They are 55 and 60 years old respectively. The oldest of the siblings is Chéng, who is 30, the second is Jian, who is 25, Vince is the third born, his little brother is Wen, who is 16, and the youngest is Vince's little sister Hinoka, who is 15.
Chéng ( 承 ) is the golden boy, the oldest, the perfect one--in the family’s eyes anyways. He plays the mediator between Vince and Jian, as the two are constantly getting into fights. Chéng, as the oldest, is the next head of the family, and represents the Yazi family values best in his personality, actions, and accomplishments. He is traditional, but open minded; stern, but fair; powerful, but disciplined. No one in Vince's family rivals him in terms of skill with the Katana, save for their father Saizo. Chéng has already gone on his adventure, obtained all eight badges from the Johto league, and challenged the elite four. He was beaten before getting to Lance, but has no desire to become champion, and as such, he has spent less time training his dragons, and more time at home, studying and spending time with his family. He has a fianceé named Hana Eto, whom he plans to marry soon so that he can start a family of his own. When he was younger, he was a lot like Vince, hotheaded and ready to prove himself, but he grew up a wiser man once he went out into the world on his own and faced real challenges. He ended up losing an eye by getting overzealous and wandering into haxorus territory, but his fight for his life earned their respect, and humbled him. He trained amongst them for a time and befriending one of the fraxure; the two have been inseparable ever since. Vince really looks up to his oldest brother and is somewhat envious of how easy and effortless he makes everything seem, and the two often clash swords when Vince wants to test his skill.
Jían ( 剑 ) has been overshadowed by Chéng for most of his life, and as such did everything differently from his brother in an attempt to be noticed for his own skill and not get constantly compared. Jian is a notorious flirt, has a loud, boisterous personality, and tends to never take anything seriously. Wielding the Yazi katana is about the only thing they have in common. When Vince was born, Jian seized the opportunity to finally have someone in the family whom he could be superior to, but as Vince grew up, he excelled, often coming close to surpassing Jian. To make matters worse, he always took more to Chéng, so Jian was always taking advantage of Vince's temper, teasing and bothering him into doing all sorts of stupid or competitive things, and as a result, Vince and Jian always seem to be butting heads. Once, Jian got Vince into a sparring match with him, and ended up teasing Vince to the point where he was so angry at Jian that he slashed at his face when Jian wasn't prepared, leaving a scar across his face and nose. Jian makes up all kinds of stories about where the scar came from, never telling the truth, but ever since that day, Vince refuses to spar with Jian.
Wén ( 文 ) is a slender, intelligent boy who always seems to have his nose in a book. He dislikes physical activity, and though he has been training to wield a katana like the rest of his family, he is far more skilled with a bow and arrow, much like their mother. Wenlong is a quiet boy who keeps much to himself, but when forced to speak and interact, he has a sharp tongue and tends to come off coldly to those he doesn't know. He has a peculiar distain for his Jian and Vince, and makes a habit of outwitting all of them both whenever given the opportunity, but he gets along with Chéng. The two aren't particularly close, but it is clear that Wenlong at least respects Chéngs wisdom and position in the family. It is actually Hinoka whom he seems to have the closest relationship with. He wants nothing to do with the family tradition of dragon taming, and instead wants to study grass types and herbalism, which he finds much more interesting. Given that Chéng and Vince have the family legacy handled, his parents are fairly lenient with Wenlong choosing a different pursuit.
Hinoka (ヒノカ) is a sweet and cheerful girl who is the Longwei family's only daughter. Born in the same year as the Suanni clan's own Naomi, the two have been close friends even since infancy. As a token of their clans' continued longstanding alliance, the Yazis allowed the Suannis to name their only daughter in a name of their native tongue, which is why she is the only one in the Longwei family with a Japanese name. She is the apple of her four brothers' eyes. Arceus help the man that tries to date Hinoka, because he will have all four brothers judgement's to pass. Hinoka is fairly outgoing socially, but she is skittish around Pokémon even though she wants to tame dragons like most of her family. She has a swablu that she adores, but it's the only Pokémon she really feels comfortable with. Wenlong has been able to help her somewhat by training the gentler grass type Pokémon, like chikorita, which she likes because it smells nice and is fairly docile. Still, Hinoka hopes to one day be brave like her brothers and train intimidating dragons.

Long ago in the warring land of the Ransei region, warlords and their pokemon allies fought for honor, land, and glory. This was no less true in the Ryū Nation, otherwise known as Dragnor. The dragon warriors of this kingdom were some of the fiercest, however many aspiring warlords there sought out their conquest in other lands of the pokemon world. Thus, the nine sons of dragon came to be, with each dragon warlord forming their own clan under the banner of their favored dragon type.

Giú niú (囚牛):
The Giuniu clan favors flying and dragon types, and their token dragon is Altaria. They're a lively bunch based in Unova who love music, and their symbol is used to adorn musical instruments. Originally, this was because they played instruments during wartime to inspire their warriors before battle.

Yá zì (睚眦):
The Ya zi gather under the banner of the wolf like dragon of the Lupup line. These pokemon are seen as luck bringing gods of war, whose quick temper but strength allow them to win any battle. As such, the Ya zi are as ferocious in battle as the pokemon they represent, perhaps one of the more aggressive clans who were known for their excellent weapon smiths. Their symbol is often found on cross-guards of the swords they make.
History: Originally, the ya zi clan settled in Kalos after leaving Ransei, and succeeded for a time in their ancient conquest there. The original warlord of the ya zi successfully united the lands of Kalos and brought both peace and prosperity to the land. However, his successor was not as kind. They had no respect for his ancestors ways, instead seeking to prove himself in battle against dragons instead of befriending them. As he hunted and shirked his duties as a king, the kingdom suffered, and eventually the successor grew too ambitious, tracking down a wounded dragon but paying the ultimate price for his bloodlust and pride.
The king had one son, now orphaned and abandoned by a kingdom who hated his father. However, the boy was kind, and sought to try and repair the damage his father had wrought, no matter how small. Little did he know that the child of the last dragon his father had killed was watching. With humanity redeemed in it's eyes, the lunine evolved into a lunarch, and together the boy and the lunarch worked to restore the peace in Kalos once more, dragon and trainer side by side. Little by little, the ya zi clan grew to prosper once more.
From there, the ya zi ancestry splits quite a bit between Unova, Hoenn, and Alola. Those that moved to Unova studied the legends of Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina. The ya zi that migrated to Hoenn became integrated into the great Draconid tribes under ground, worshiping raquaza. These two branches no longer have strong ties to the ya zi ways, but are still considered allied with the clan as distant family and friends. The main clan continued their traditions in Alola, forging steel and becoming close allies with the suan ni clan before eventually migrating back to Blackthorn City of Johto, where the last of the clan currently resides forging blades of excellent craftsmanship and honing their skills as warriors. Though their days of fighting and war are mostly distant, the clan still keeps its traditions alive and well, training so that they are strong and prepared in case conflict comes to the pokemon world once again.

Jiāo tú (椒图):
The Jiaotu clan are ones of reflection, solitude, and silence. They have the goodra line as their dragon of choice, and their symbol is carved on doors to protect the residents from those who would seek to break in and do them harm. Secretive and tight-lipped but vastly knowledgeable, the Jiaotu clan run monk monasteries in the mountain range between Kanto and Johto which enables peaceful meditation, reflection, and self discovery. In spite of their mystery, they are quite welcoming and hospitable to those willing to quietly observe and learn.
Pú láo (蒲牢):
The Pulao clan has generally been mocked for being small in stature, but what they lack in size, they make up for in spirit. They hail tyrantrum as their clan dragon and are known for roaring ferociously before diving into battle, using the tactic of making lots of noise to disorient their opponents with loud war drums, gongs, and bellowing voices. Their symbol is often placed on bells and drums for luck and endurance.

Suān ní (狻猊):
Masters of martial arts, and with that comes a love of fighting types and dragons with a similar style and temperament such as the kommo-o line. This clan is composed of guardians and teachers, monks who are strong in mind, body, and spirit. They have a history as courageous and true allies, and have maintained a strong neutral alliance among all the clans for many years, hoping to one day use their sway to bring the clans together and move past some of their feuds. Suanni are patient and willing to wait for as long as is necessary, but some clans see their quiet strength and patience as neglectful and an excuse for inaction.
History:
The Suanni have traveled all over the pokemon world as evidence from some of the greatest fighting dojos that remain standing to this day. However, the majority of the Suanni clan settled in Alola, training with the kommo-o line in Vast Poni Canyon. There, the clan was in charge of the last island trial, the dragon trial, for a long time. However, their close allies, the Ya zi clan, were inclined to migrate towards blackthorn to continue their training under the dragon masters in the Dragon's Den, and the Suanni moved with them, leaving the trial to be maintained by their intelligent kommo-o partners whenever a worthy trainer dared to enter their cave. The Suanni clan now resides with the Ya zi in Blackthorn City.

Bì xì (贔屭):
The Bixi clan favors sturdy, grounded dragons such as the turtonator that represents their clan. They also appreciate other similar turtle-like pokemon such as torterra. They are the grave keepers, and are frequently found running cemeteries around the pokemon world. Their symbol is placed on any grave monuments to help carry the burden of death in the families they help, and also as a blessing and prayer to help carry the newly departed souls into the afterlife.
Bì àn (狴犴):
(Hybrid of tiger and dragon) a creature that likes litigation, are placed over prison gates (in order to keep guard).
Bā xià (𧈢𧏡):
The Baxia clan favor serpantine dragons and pokemon, such as dragonair. They also work with pokemon like arbok, milotic, and dieno. The baxia clan has a history of intelligence and diplomacy, which pairs nicely with their love of literature, knowledge, and calligraphy. Their symbol is known to be lucky when near water, and so it is typically used on bridge structures to commemorate this and also represent the symbolic nature of building bridges and their tendency to find swift solutions. This can sometimes be taken to an extreme, as their inclination towards logic and benefiting the greater people by making small sacrifices can have results that some clans may find appalling.

Chī wěn (蚩吻):
Favors aquatic dragons such as the Kingdra line. They are elegant dancers and partial to water types as well as dragons. Their clan often hold jobs as Shinto priests near large bodies of pure water, and travel out to perform cleansing rites. Do not let their tranquility fool you though, as they are quick to strike down evil with the ferocity of their warlord heritage.
