Some freshly caught fish Short IC Response: They had been an odd couple from the start. Mar was very quiet, stoic, and rather awkward. Celeste was more of a poker with a bit of spunk. Both had been rather lonely, however, and their isolation pushed them together. She makes him smile and he keeps her grounded, so to speak, and they both accept each other despite their great flaws- she's the flightless Wind while he's the harmless Kelpi. They're just dumb misfits who are at their best with their total opposite.He wasn't sure why he came all this way. It was just a star, no different than the others. But there had been others like this, he had heard in the past, and apparently they did grant the occasional wish. Back then, he had nothing he wanted. Heck, even now there wasn't anything he really needed, but... Mar looked back towards where his lake lay. He would have to get back before Celeste noticed he had run off. With a flick of his tail, he got his act together and put the dripping fish down as their gasps started dying down.
"I love my mate, but she's been so upset since Riam disappeared. We've both been sad, really. All of our kids are gone. It's...it's not the same, after having them around for so long and then they're..." He sighed, looking away with embarrassment. "I just want...I just want her to be happy." Mar shook his head, ears folding back at how dumb this was. "It feels so empty without foals splashing around and bugging us. Please," he looked up at the sky almost pleadingly, "if you really do grant those wishes...please let us have more. Somehow, some way, even if it's just one. We weren't ready last time. Just one more chance..." The large gray stallion paused, swallowed, sighed again. He didn't have anything else to say. He did his part. Now all he could do was get home and take care of his best friend, and hope just a little. Who knew with miracles?

One of her blue feathers with golden beads. Short IC Response: This duo can't ever truly be together. Even though his heart belongs to another, Vanya has always had a sweet spot for him. The problem with this couple though is that from his view it's too late for her and anyone who is touched by the soul of a hatter. Vanya has always had a soft spot for Boris, it formed when she met him as a foal. Their friendship only grew into something stronger and much deeper as she grew older. From her love and adoration for this stallion and wanting something that will never be, she finds herself wishing and hoping that the star will grant her wish. Her desire is to have a child she can protect from the darkness, though she is a part of what Boris considers darkness. She wants to be able to have something that is pure and bring more light into her life since she can never have her "shiny", the name she called Boris when she was younger. Vanya was starting to lose hope that she would never have the light and happiness in her life that she was once had when she was younger. She had heard the tales of the wishing star from others and how it could grant your wish if you left an offering and left a wish. Truth be told she had no idea how hard you had to wish to be able to have your wish come true but she would put everything she had into it. She had traveled all day trying to find the location of the star, no real clue as to where it would appear or disappear for that matter. With no sight of the star and stamina running low, she decided to stop and get a drink. As she stared into the water she saw the star shoot across the water. Her head snapped up quickly and she started to panic. "Wwait don't go!" She stammered as she looked around trying to find an offering. Her amber eyes settled on the gold beads and feathers that were tied into her tail. Acting fast, she pulled a set of the feather and beads free and then put it into the water. "I hope that this finds you as you travel oh great wishing star." She said the words as she searched the skies, she almost forgot to make her wish. "I didn't expect you to sneak up on me but I have a great desire to be able to have a child. I want one of great light, one filled with such good and hope that it inspires me to be better. Boris believes it is to late for me and it breaks my heart. I don't know if he is right or wrong but I want to raise my child in goodness and not with darkness. I don't want any form of darkness to fall upon my child." Vanya realized that she had spoken for a while, breaths inbetween but she wasn't even sure the star would hear her wish. "Oh great wishing star, I beg of you, I will do anything in my power to be able to have this chance. It means the world to me, I want to be able to have light in my life. I want to experience true happiness again, I don't get to have that chance with Boris." As the words left her, she felt her heart breaking, it was words she knew were true but she always tried to deny them. She tried to never let them rise to the surface and take light so they could be true, if they were in the dark then it didn't exist. She wanted to continue to plea and beg to the wishing star but she was too over come with sadness. Instead she found herself weeping for something she could never have, something she could never experience and happiness she could never truly experience.

My Long Lost Family MemberSoquili in search of a relative:  Relation (mother, father, brother, sister, etc): Mother Race (first choice): Regular (Not familiar enough to come up with a hybrid combo.) Race (2nd choice, must be mini, common or uncommon): Regular What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? His crazed blue eyes looked up at the cluster of vines bearing wild kiwifruit which surprisingly hung low above his head as gravity gave him an advantage on obtaining delectable gifts for his offering. He held onto a weak vine between his teeth and brutally yanked it down until it snapped. It fell to the ground with ease and revealed its ripe juicy golden-skinned fruit which were hidden under broad flat leaves. He stooped low and turned his head towards his legs, and swished his long tail towards his face. Within moments he had nipped off locks of white, brown, and black hair off of his own body and spat it all out toward the vine on the ground. With his chin, he rubbed his hair against the ripened fruits and watched it stick on with help of his own saliva. Carefully, he picked up the lot and walked off to find the altar where hopeful soquili tend to visit and make their wishes heard. One of the stars in the sky seemed to shine brighter than the rest tonight. Short IC Response: What does you soquili ask/tell the wishing star when he or she comes to ask to find their relative?Kain had found the wishing altar high up the hill far away from waters. He walked up to it and placed his offering onto the cold weatherworn stone. Calmly, he knelled down and laid upon the damp tall grass beside the place where wishes seldom come true. One would have to truly wish hard enough to make it become a reality. Being a stallion of little words, he gazed up toward the dark night sky, his mind filled with wonder and questions unanswered. For the first time in his life, he sought out the rumoured magical wishing star with his own eyes as he laid there wondering how he had ended up being alone in this world. He was certain that what he saw years ago, through the thick prickly berry bushes, was family. The muscular legs that once darted left and right in front of him were strong enough to suit a stallion or a mare. But he wasn't quick enough to spot who it was before it dashed off into the woods and remained out of sight forever. "Wish star..." he uttered, as if someone was there with him.. "Why... was I left high up in the mountains on my own? Could it be that I was abandoned? Was there a flood? Did my parents sacrifice themselves to keep me alive?" Kain remained silent while he thought about it for a moment. "If my parents are still alive, I wish that I could meet them. Even if it's just one of them, that would be enough for me." He laid further down in the grass and rested his head on the ground before rolling onto his back. Again, he looked at the one shining star in the sky. "Could you guide them through their travels to find me?" he asked quietly. "I'm tired of all the what ifs running through my mind... I want closure," he sighed. With that, he gave the star a sincere nod, got up, and walked away from the altar of wishes. *To whom it may concern:

This thing that the human royalty wore on their heads fascinated her, and so it was one of the physical things she most loved. Short IC Response: Queen Stephanie stood to make her wish. She shook out her mane, feeling it tumble about her artfully. She was gorgeous and regal, and she knew it showed out of every bit of her. And so too was Kadentsu. They met in the ruins of an old Human building meant for their kings and queens. She was shown ow in anceint times they slept separate, because they mated not for love but for power. She couldn't understand that. She never wanted that, and she would not have that. She wanted what her parents had, to lovingly raise a family. She had been an only basket, and she knew asking for more at once would be greedy... And a princess is many things, but a good princess must never be greedy. That would be asking far too much of her people. But a family, a warm and loving family, a chance to raise a foal... with someone she loved... she could think of no greater wish, no greater joy.

A True Friend Who is Wishing?:  Tell the wishing star a little about yourself: I've been all over the Kawani lands and met many Soquilli. I'm quite friendly and love seeing a new face. Though for some reason no one seems to stay in my life which is kind of sad...but I don't like to dwell on sad things...just keep going till the next new thing comes along....like this twinkling star. 10 Things I Like: I like Flowers, the moon and stars, flying, the ocean, bright colors, my native land (WoW), shells, shiny things, and happiness. 10 Things I Don’t Like: I don't have any dislikes...I love everything What does your persona or your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? What does you soquili ask/tell the wishing star when he or she comes to ask for a basket? Utani and Kel are very much in love. Though, when others look at them they might find that hard to believe. Not that they yell, or glare, or act mean to each other. They just find it hard to believe an angelic mare such as Utani would fall for the skeleton lord of death. But Utani believes in him full heartedly. She knows he has doubts as to whether he would be a good father, its why her plan is to surprise him with foals and pretty much just toss him into fatherhood. It would bring a few chuckles along the way, and hopefully prove to him that he is as good a stallion as she knows him to be. Even through all his 'quirks'. Utani watched Kel as he slept. Curled up in a pile of cat and chipmunks. She couldn't help but give a silent giggle. But she was feeling restless, and needed a walk. So, she left their little clearing in search of a stream to splash her face with. She wasn't quite used to the heat and her hair stuck to her slightly in the heat. Yes, some water would be nice. And if she remembered correctly, there had been a shrinking stream close by. With a little luck, she could find what was left of it. She started off, eyes to the floor so she wouldn't trip on any thing. But also to the sky, for the stars to lead her. She had only taken a few strides when a flash of white streaked across the sky. It made her pause in her steps, hoof still in the air as she wondered at its brilliance. "A wishing star." She closed her eyes tight, wishing with all her might. "Wishing star. If you can hear me, please grant me the gift of birth. I would love to see Kl as a father. And I want to prove to him that he can do it." She opened her eyes, only to frown at the next thought. She had nothing on her possession to gift the star. Just then, a little squeak made her look back. The grass was parting slightly as one of her chipmunks raced towards her. Did it have a nightmare? she wondered. But when he grew close, she saw he had a watch in his mouth. He sat before her and offered it up to her. "My grandfathers watch? But, its dead....." Utani stared at it. Grasped between two tiny paws. Just than, she remembered what her grandfather had told her, and nodded to the chipmunk. She took it from him as he scurried up her neck to rest on her back. She placed the watch on a boulder that was close by, tucking it between another rock so it was not in plain view. She looked up to see the star fading as it traveled on. "Wishing star, I gift you this watch. May its death bring new life to this world." She leaned in and kissed the watch. Closing her eyes and giving a last push of faith before she righted and turned to her chipmunk friend. "Shall we go find some water?" Its little face brightning with a smile and a nod. And with that, the two left to find the stream.

Short IC Response: Kyran looked up at the stars, more specifically the star that had been giving him a funny feeling, the same feeling of the rainbow in fact. Sure the wish he had made back then had spooked him a little when it had actually come true, but he loved his family and Crown had been so happy... He had noticed the longing look in his lovers eyes again, their children were grown and Crown wanted a big family. They had no other way to have children and so he had slipped away from camp while Crown was away to once again make a wish for his love. Little did he know that Crown was making a wish at the exact same time. Setting the stone he had found down, he had thought to give it to Crown to commemorate their meeting, but he knew from last time that a heartfelt offering would gain attention from whatever spirit or god was feeling benevolent from that star. "I know its not much..." Nudging the stone into some moonlight so that the heart of rose quartz sparkled. "But finding it made me think of Crown, it was for him but this would mean so much more... I'd give anything to be able to give him the foals he longs for, I'd let him go if it was what he wanted, I can deny him nothing..." Though the thought of letting Crown go made his heart ache. Looking up at the star that had that feeling he had felt before, tears shimmering in his eyes. "Please, you could take anything of mine if the stone does not please you, my armour, my feathers, name your price, but please I wish for the foals Crown longs for, the ones I cannot give him but that are ours all the same... I wish for this with all my heart... Please..." Squeezing his eyes closed he wished with all his might, thoughts of Crown and the twins in his mind, his family.... their family. He wasn't sure how long he stayed there but he shifted on his hooves as his eyes opened again, taking a deep breath, he whispered... "please..." He backed away, leaving his offering sparkling on the cliff edge in the grass, only turning when he was in the trees and sheltered from the stars sight. He needed to get home to Crown, he would take him some food or flowers maybe... something to make the stallion smile and feel loved. Nodding he trotted off, eager to see that smile he adored.

The mare gently placed the flower before her hooves and with the tenderness of an experienced mother nudged it a few paces before her as an offering to the wishing star. "We should go now," she whispered as though not to wake a sleeping child. She began to turn, but remained with his eyes to the sky. As if to himself he murmured, "Dear wishing star, please grant us another child. They bring such joy to our lives." Bowing his head he smiled softly and turned to join Jasmine Lilly. "Come, let us wait and see if the star grants us our hope," he told her. And together they waltzed down the knoll again.

Flowers he's gathered in her memory Short IC Response: What does you soquili ask/tell the wishing star when he or she comes to ask to find their relative?He bowed his head against the weight of memories and the chill in the soft breeze. A bundle of flowers, mostly white, lay at his hooves in silent offering as he paid his respects to the lost. Separated as foals, he never got to really know her, or knew if she even lived. Hope kept him searching, and that's what he held onto while gazing up at the night sky. Perhaps one day he'd find her, maybe she'd remember him. Maybe she had a family. Dami huffed and nosed the flowers one last time before turning away. Dwelling never did anyone any good, but once in awhile he allowed himself to hope and wish. Perhaps miracles do happen, after all. ((Crap, just noticed that the end time is in EST, I think I'm too late Dx ))

Yeah, I'm sorry... but since you posted after the deadline, your entry won't be added to the list. @ Everyone: I've locked the thread to avoid any confusion prior to rolling.
