Orion washed at the river that fed into the lake, he didn't like returning to Eden covered in dirt and fungus and the rest after wandering through the forest. As always his blindfold was in place and the panels of his wings were folded one on top of the other. Clean once more he leaned down and picked up the little 'basket' that Eden had designed for him, today it was filled mostly with sweet apples since it was the season... though he had managed to find two ripe pears also. A treat, he rather enjoyed pears, and it seemed that lately Eden was enjoying the sweeter fruits also.
He made his way home, his ears flicking every now and then at the noises of the forest and the herd, he had grown accustom to them now, but every now and then he overheard things he really wished he hadn't... like Renesme, Eden's mother talking with her mother Alice, about him... he still hadn't told Eden what he had heard, not because it was 'bad' but because he was rather embarassed by it. He returned to the little spot that he and Eden had taken over for their own. It was secluded but safe, and even provided enough room for Eden to have a little place to tinker with her mouse friend. His hummingbird sang from his mane causing him to look down at the sweet little thing, every time he did he was reminded of Eden... in fact, everything reminded him of Eden. The colour of the grass and trees, the way the flowers bloomed, the traps and warning devices that were hidden in the forest.... it was all Eden, and yet it could never compare to her. He was really happy with how things were, really happy to have found her; and Orion knew he would give her everything she asked for and more.
Placing his precious load to the ground he looked around for Eden, he could hear her but not see her, and for a moment he wondered if she was napping again. He had noticed she seemed to be doing that more lately. "I'm back." He called softly, not wanting to disturb her should she be asleep.
Eden had been napping, but she had woken and found Orion gone and the basket she had made him missing too. So rather than hurry about her business again she had closed her eyes and seemingly fallen back asleep. Though now she roused herself more and stood up, mentally telling herself off, she had never been the kind of girl to sleep all the time, she was actually thinking about visiting the healer if she didn't snap out of this soon. Not that she had heard of a sickness that made you sleep, but then there were many thigns she didn't know yet.
Yawning as she wandered over to Orion and nuzzling close with a sigh, having also felt more clingy and emotional lately too. "I missed you." She could easily find herself missing Orion, but not usually over so short a seperation, at least not so much that she felt like crying. She had never been apart from him long enough to cry about it, she wasn't an emotional girl.

Orion looked at Eden's reaction, he was sure there were almost tears in her eyes... he didn't like that, didn't like that he had likely caused them. He moved in and held her, kissing her neck softly as he spoke, "I'm sorry. I should have told you I was going...." He kissed her again, and then in the hopes of cheering her up, or at least distracting her from whatever was nearly making her cry he found himself adding, "I found you some pears... and some sweet apples." Moving away a little so he could nudge the basket closer with his nose he smiled softly at her. He liked the idea of providing for her, of being able to do at least a little, to have some small impact upon her day.... he also knew that he wanted to wipe those tears away, banish them to a realm where they could never resurface again. Still he was worried, Orion was forced to admit he had noticed small difference in her... was something wrong? Was she sick? Should he perhaps summon one of the healers? Chandra perhaps? Or was that too much, too over the top? He knew Eden didn't like making too much of a fuss... but for her... well, he was more than willing to go against his instincts if it meant helping her.
Eden smiled for him, her eyes still shiny but she didn't let him get away, still nuzzling close, seeming more content like that. " I see, they smell tasty, just what I was wanting.... though I didn't know that till I smelt them. Thank you Orion, your wonderful for getting me a treat" The small part of her mind that was still her normal self could just imagine her brother Crown seeing her like this and hearing her saying things like that he would probably fall over and laugh himself sick. It didn't make them less true, she would jsut have said them in a different way, and not the love sick dreamy way she was now. But as it stood she didn't care, but she also still felt tired and lathargic, lifting her head to blink at Orion, not totally sure she hadn't fallen asleep for a second there. Worry coming into her eyes as she looked at him... What was wrong with her???

Orion looked down at her in concern, not because of her words but because she felt almost heavy pressed against him... as if she couldn't quite support herself. Panic had his heart fluttering in his chest, and as his concern built up he found himself opening the panels of his wings and using one of the claws to remove his blindfold. Silver eyes looked down at her. "What's wrong Eden? Talk to me." Orion wanted to help... but what was he meant to help her from? Fear flooded his eyes, and even as he refolded his wings he knew he had to do something. "Sit down with me.... nice and slowly." And with his words he slowly started to bend at his own knees, hopeing to guide Eden to the ground, at least from there there would be no where for her to fall should something happen.
Eden sank to the ground with him, feelign bad, it seemed she had paniced him now, shaking her head. "I don't know whats wrong, I'm just so tired lately and... when you got back I wanted to cry I'd missed you so much... but I don't cry usually, not over something so small, you were only gone a short while..." Eyeing one of the apples in his basket she leaned over and nabbed it, munching on the sweet juicy fruit with relish. Licking her lips after, then looking embarassed, she was acting so out of character, anyone would think she hadn't eaten for ages.

Orion grew even more concerned as Eden spoke, his own eyes threatening to spill over unshed tears. He kissed her, unsure what else he was meant to do, whatever he could say. Still, he watched everything, every slight movement, the way she seemed to relish the sweeter fruit he had collected, the way she looked almost flushed and more emotional than normal... something wasn't right, he couldn't put his hoof on it. "I'll go get a healer...." He said, his voice cracking slightly in his desperation. What would he do if he lost Eden? What if she was really ill? What if the worst happened? It was suddenly all he could think about. His worst fears realised.
"Please be ok, Eden." He pleaded, his voice low. It was clear he was worried, he hid nothing from her that might shine through those silver eyes he hid from the rest of the world. Between them there were to be no secrets.
Looking at him and smiling, nuzzling and kissing him back, nodding in agreement to getting a healer, havign thought of seeing one soon anyway. "I was going to see one soon if I wasn't more awake soon, but now is as good a time as any... and I'm ok I jsut feel tired... and hungry now... but other than that I don't feel bad." Smiling trying to reassure him, her eyes loving as they met his, hers tearing up again. "I'll be fine, I promise, I will be... I wont leave you." Reading his fear in his eyes so easily, she told him everything, and him her, she loved that no matter what he accepted what she had to say. The only time she kept quiet was if the secret was someone elses, not because she didn't trust Orion, but because someone had trusted her with their secret and so she kept it.

Orion nodded, and didn't hesitate as she agreed with him about fetching a healer, even her quietly spoken promise about not leaving her, the tears in her eyes... it all had him fearing all the more. He couldn't stand seeing her like this and not understanding what was going on. He kissed her again, taking a moment to kiss each eye softly, a silent 'don't cry' before he stood up. "I'll go get someone.... just wait here." Before he left he nudged the basket of fruit closer to her, not wanting her to have to exert herself too much should she decide to have more. If you were sick plenty of fluids and food was good for you right? He hoped that was the case at least.
Orion was in such a hurry to find a healer that he completely ignored the fact that he hadn't replaced the blindfold over his eyes. No, all that mattered was finding someone. He looked left and right, headed towards the rest of the herd when he spied Chandra. She could help? Right? Or was it best to get Carlisle....? He didn't know. Panic filled his voice as he forced himself to speak first, for Eden, he reminded himself, he could do anything if it was for Eden. "Cha...handra." He suddenly felt like he needed to bow so did, but as soon as he did he felt incredible silly... she was the daughter of the alpha pair, not the alpha herself but still, she deserved respect. Shaking those thoughts he focused on the matter at hoof. "Do you kno--w where Carlisl--e might be?" He stuttered a little, only just managing to hold back a case of the shivers.
Chandra was just looking for Sonnet when she heard quickened hooves approach, normally she would have got out of the way except... Orion... with no blindfold? She had never seen the stallions eyes before, and as he got closer she had to blink back her surprise. They were beautiful, a swirling silver colour, but that only confused the mare, why did he see the need to hide such beautiful things? Part of her had always feared that perhaps they were red? Or glowed as some kalona's did... he was after all half of their breed, but now.. these were magnificent. Of course he thoughts were shattered as she heard him speak, it was a rare sight on its own but the meaning behind those words soon became obvious. Eden? Sick? She turned to look in the direction of Heze, and although she couldn't see her from here she knew that her daughter and friend, Haki, were resting while Carlisle made another of his mixtures for him. "He's busy. Is there anything I can help with? If it's an emergency we can find him as well?" She offered.

Orion listened, and nodded, anyone, he needed anyone.... he didn't know if it would be deemed an 'emergency' after all Eden had been breathing and speaking when he left... but what did he know. The word was enough to bring panic to his body and mind. Was it possible it was more serious than he had ever imagined?
Chandra watched the reaction on Orion's face, the emotions swirled all too clearly in those silver eyes and she had to wonder if that was part of the reason why he hid them so. She didn't touch him, knowing he didn't like anyone other than Eden doing that, but still her maternal instinct told her she couldn't just leave him like this, adopting a similar persona to what she used with her pregnant mares she spoke with a soft yet confident voice, "Don't worry Orion, I am sure she is ok. She has you." She smiled, and even though she was aware of a possible time sensative issue she also knew that the emotional needs of those around her were just as important. "Take me to her. Please." She said softly, watching as those words seemed to wake something up with the stallion as he turned and indicated that she should follow. Bringing her four wings in at her side she ran just behind him, giving him enough space as to not feel intimidated by her presence. She didn't want to spook him after all, sure that Eden would never forgive her for it.
It didn't take long to find Eden, she was in the couples personal space, and Chandra suddenly felt like she was intruding, at least until she looked at Eden. Concern flooded her features for a moment but she quickly pushed it aside. Approaching she smiled and sat beside the other mare. "What's wrong Eden? Tell me what you feel." Chandra hoped it was nothing serious, a fever perhaps?
Eden lifted her head, she had munched a good portion of the apples while Orion had been gone, leaving him the pares, she knew he loved them, but the rest had been fair game and she had tucked in. But when she was done she had rested her head down again, her mind wandering till Chandra had shown up. Her cheeks burning red under her green coat, now she had to tell someone other than Orion it all seemed so daft.
Looking for Orion then, her expression totally softening whn she saw him hovering, looking liek a different Eden here, Even with Orion she was more circumspect in public, but the smile she gave her mate in their space was one that none of the herd would have thought she had in her. Sighing, seeing him looking so worried she looked back to Chandra. "It seems so silly... But I feel ok... I've just been so tired lately, and hungry for sweet things." Not addign that she had been overly emotional, she just felt so silly for causing Chan the bother of coming here, her eyes misting up again causing her to give a delicate little sniff.

Orion looked down at Eden in concern but smiled all the same, repeating Chandra's words in his head. She will be ok. She will be ok. That didn't stop his heart from thundering in his chest but that was ok, it was simply a sign of how much he loved her... surely if he didn't he wouldn't care right now. He lowered his head to her, only then noticing the slide of material as his blindfold slid across his nose. He froze, realising what he had done! He had left Chandra see him without his blindfold, his cheeks burnt bright, and eventhough he really wanted to put it back into place he was willing to take his eyes off his mate.
Chandra was clueless about Orion for a moment, her attention was clearly on Eden. Taking in the slight changes in the mare. She seemed flushed, her eyes a little red and watery as if she wanted to cry. Both when coupled with the symptoms the mare had told her of made Chandra think of only one thing. A little hesitantly she looked up at Orion and then back at Eden, this wasn't a conversation she usually had in front of stallions but she had a feeling that nothing in the world was about to tear this stallion away from his mate. It was for that reason she powered on. She spoke softly, her concern obvious though a secret smile whispered upon her lips. "Eden... tell me the truth, have you been feeling really weepy? Maybe a little tender or achy in the joints? And eh...." She looked up at Orion once more before returning her attention the green mare before her. "...was the last time you bled more than one moon ago?"
Looking at Chandra, havign to think about what she was asking. Nodding finally. "Yes, all kinds of silly things have been making me teary lately...." The penny dropping as the significance of the questions sunk in, the one she hadn't though about was the last... But now that she was thinking about it, she couldn't remember for sure, which meant that it was more than a moon cycle ago....
Groaning and hiding her head under her wing, feeling totally humiliated, now that she thought about it it all made total sense, but then she hadn't seen anyone else but chan go through pregnancy so other than theory she knew little about it, and even theory was not reliable, after all her mother hadn't told her about all the crying and the sleeping, sure cravings and being achy... She hadn't really been cravign anything weird, and while achy and tired many thigns could explain those as well as an increase in appitite.
Giving another little sniff, feeling all weepy again. "I'm an idiot.... That never occured to me to think about.... but your right.... all those things... your right..."

Orion looked between the two mares utterly confused... what where they talking about... what? They hadn't said anything specific but he had a feeling they both knew exactly what the other was saying silently. He turned and focused on Eden then. He wasn't sure if should ask or not... but he had to know! Was she at least ok? He could know that much, couldn't he? "Are.... are... you ok?" He asked a little timidly since they had company.
Chandra chuckled down at Eden and leaned forward to kiss the top of her head, "Don't be silly. You should have seen me when I first figured it out." The smiled increased as she recalled her own pregnancy, and then what followed... telling Sonnet. In this case that would be Eden telling Orion, and Chandra had no idea how the quiet stallion would take it since she had had very few direct interactions with him... though she still got the impression that he would be over the moon, this was his private little world after all, and she had a feeling that it expanding would do the stallion some good. Not that she would voice that out loud.
She stood with a grace known to her breed, the smile refused to fade even as she looked down at the couple. "Congradulations. I'll leave you two to it... for now at least, but expect a call at a later date for a check up. Ok?" Part of Chandra wanted to go and tell everyone the good news, but she knew it wasn't her news to tell... still, everyone would be happy, no exstatic! Especially after the recent fear brought on by a badly injuried Haki. She bowed her head softly and started to walk away, a skip in her step and a song in her heart.
Orion watched Chandra leave, and became even more confused. "We don't need her?" He asked, looking back at Eden with a slight tilt of his head. He was still beyond concerned but now that Eden seemed to be less worried, the tesion having visably melted from her body, he realised there was probably very little for him to worry about. Lowering his head more he snuffled his head under her wing to look her in the eyes. "What's wrong?" He asked.
Eden had stayed hidden, just making an affirmative noise to Chandra, grateful to her cousin... well kind of cousin... She would definately be spending time with the other mare, after all if they were both right and she doubted Chan would be mistaken then she was carrying foals and that meant telling a lot of people and having to submit to being fussed over, though she knew Chandra would help her every step of te way if she needed it... But first...
The but first nosed his way under her wing and looked at her, moving her head closer and nuzzling his nose with hers, kind of their version of an eskimo kiss... Poor Orion he would have no idea what was going on, but how to tell him, would he be happy? She remembered how afraid he had been of looking after the hummingbird she had found and given to him to care for... But foals... he hated his father, what if one came out looking like him?.... Closing her eyes a moment and taking a breath. She was borrowing troubles, she trusted her mate with everythign she was and she knew she could trust him to love their foals as much as he loved her.
Her head still under her wing with him for now, even though they were totally alone it gelt more comforting, even though a little light filtered in so they could see eachother. "Orion.... There nothing wrong with me... well not in the sense of being sick.... But something has changed and its a big change... it will be a big change for us both..." Really not sure how to do this, just blurting it out seemed unfair, but how did you do such a thing delicately? "You see... soon we are going to have the patter of little hooves to keep us busy."

Orion breathed an obvious sign of relief when Eden said that there was nothing wrong with her. He couldn't believe just how relieved he was by those simple words. Yet as he listened he found himself growing confused again. He frowned a little. Patter of hooves? Were some of the other herd members coming to visit them? He was completely oblivious as to her meaning, not having interpretted the word 'little' properly, in fact his mind seemed to skip over it completely.
He found himself whispering, as if afraid that the rest of the herd might hear him and somehow be offended. "Why are some of the other herd members coming to visit? How busy will they keep us?" It was obvious he had misunderstood but still he found himself kissing Eden's nose before settling back down. He rather enjoyed being under her wing with her. It was cosy. Secluded. Private. Like they had their own little slice of solitude in an otherwise busy and chaotic world. "I won't stop them visiting," Orion started to say, feeling as if he had to make it obvious that for Eden he would be ok with whatever she wanted, "...but I'm sorry if I am not very good at... eh... well, hosting them." That would be an understatement.
Eden couldn't help herself she started shaking a little, trying hard not to giggle but failing. Kissing his nose lovingly, as she got her giggles under control. "Oh Orion I love you, but theres no LITTLE hooves in the herd at the moment, but there will be soon it seems, ones I hope that are as handsom as their daddy." Kissing him again and nuzzling gently, relaxing with him like this was nice. Murmering softly to stop any more misunderstanding. "You are their daddy Orion...."

"Oh...." He said with a blush as she exagerated the 'little' this time. Foals. Now that he thought about it there were no foals that he had seen around the herd, though he hadn't heard that word at all when Eden had first said it. Of course when she said that she hoped they would be as handsome as their Daddy he couldn't help but frown a little in jealousy... who was she calling handsome? Sure, he had a low opinion of himself but wasn't this a little too much? Did she think someone else was better? Probably, he was simply lucky that she allowed him to stay beside her... he should be happy at that... but still....
Yet those thoughts were shattered as her next words fell upon him. You are their Daddy Orion....! WHAT! "Oh..." Was the only muffled noise that escaped his lips for a moment, his eyes wide as he tried to process that. "I'm going to be a Father.... I'm... your... you mean...." A smile slowly started to spread upon his face. "You are with foal?" He asked? He couldn't help but feel excited, even as worry seeped in at the back of his mind. A Dad! Him! Suddenly he frowned. "But... what if...." He looked down a little, ashamed at his darkened thoughts ruining this happy moment, but he found he needed to say it, needed know that she wouldn't hate him for the genes he had inflicted upon her. He whispered, almost afraid to speak any louder. "...what if they are like him... what if I am like him....?" His frown deepened. Would he run like his father had? No, the answer came as clear and a swift as snapping of a twig. He wouldn't leave Eden and any children he might sire. He loved their mother, he was sure he would love them too... or at least grow to love them, the idea was a little intimidating after all. Despite his slightly negative undertone to the conversation Orion had made no move to pull away, no move to retreat, and that told the stallion far more than he needed. He looked up at Eden again and smiled, the action reaching all the way to his silver eyes. "You will be a good mother." He said softly.
Nuzzling his nose gently, knowing that he wold have been worried about such a thing. "I'd not have mated with yo if I was worried about my foals taking after you, I hope they do take after you in many ways... you are wonderful Orion, inside and out.... I've never asked much about your family, and especially not him.... But if that happens then so be it, I'll love them anyway because you gave them to me... I never saw myself as a mother, never wanted any of this till I met you... I only want this with you." Smiling at him, nuzzled still under her wing. "I think you will be a good father too, I can't express how happy you make me, how proud I am to be your mate... And I'll be just as proud to have your foals. I'm going to love you even more as we go through this together." Smiling at him, tearing up again, happy tears this time though.

Orion listened and found himself blushing, thankful it was only Eden and him, and that they were under the her wing so the rest of the world couldn't see even if they were here. He suddenly felt a little guilty about having kept quiet about his past, about his family. He would tell her, he decided, he would tell her as much as he could at least. But first he kissed her again, "thank you." He whispered, hoping that her confidence in him wasn't misplaced as he feared deep within his heart.
"My mother only told me a little about my father, I don't think she knew much to tell..." He admitted, having learnt that he and his sister were the result of a one night stand. "...Lior and I... I mean.... my Mum... well..." He scruntched up his face as he tried figuring out what he was actually trying to say. He sighed and decided to start again, "His name was Scio, and he was afraid of shadows and the dark... at least thats what my Mother said. She spent the night trying to comfort him," He blushed, realising now exactly what his mother must have meant, "Come morning he was gone." He grunted a little at that, "She said he was a kalona, with purple eyes and long, long black hair that trailed on the ground... and that he seemed to be..." He frowned, "...almost made of shadows?" He laughed a little, knowing how silly that sounded. "I don't want to leave you...." He said quietly, as if he would suddenly fade into the shadows much as his other 'father' had.
In an effort to change the subject he thought of sister and mother. "I have a sister called Lior. Her wings are more like my fathers, while mine are more like my mothers... bar the hooks." The hooks that he knew Eden understood he had a hatred for. "She was always nice to me though, I think I would have been beaten up far more if she hadn't been around, would have been far more lonely too." He admitted, aware that Lior had done a lot for him in their childhood. "My mother.... she is nice." He said softly, "But... well... I think I disappoint her. My half-brother is a warrior, and I think she always expected me to be one too." He looked up into her eyes then, "Thats... well... about it." He said nodding, looking at her nervously as if hoping that hearing all of that wouldn't change how she felt about him.
Nuzzling him again having listened quietly, his father intrigued her, mostly because the idea of a kalona beign afraid was very different to her thinking, especially if he was full kalona, but made of shadows??? THAT was definately interesting. Kissing him softly her voice gentle. "Something I have learnt about magic and powers while growing up here... While I can wish I had abilities like my mother, grandparents and I guess great grandfather..." Not sure what Carlisle was but Alice called him father, but he never seemed to have any special abilities beyond any that a pure angeni had, though even for an angeni he seemd uncommonly selfless and kind. "...is that its all about the weilders intent... If you have the power to disappear and you want to disappear you will disappear... But it only works if thats what you really in your deepest heart want." Shifting closer, still under her wing, nuzzling her nose to his. "Though purple eyes sound pretty... I'll settle for not gold though... theres too many gold eyes in my family, pretty silver ones would be perfect... mmmm" Closing her eyes again trying to imagine the foals they had made together. "Oh.. I left the pares for you, and some other bits... I know you like the pares best." Smiling to herself, happy and safe, even if her mate wasn't a warrior, not everyone needed a knight in shining armour, some girls just needed a quiet farm boy, or something equally less impressive. Either way, she was hopeful and excited about what was to come now, musing aloud semi asleep again having been so happy and relaxed like this with him. "Who should we tell first?..."

Orion nuzzled his mate softly as he listened, while he wasn't fond of the idea of seeng purple eyes, and in fact loved Eden's golden ones, if they would make Eden happy he would accept them and grow to love them too. He smiled at the offer of pears, "You didn't have to." He said softly, chuckling a little bit, "But thank you... I do love them." Although he couldn't see much he found his eyes wandering over Eden's body, would she soon be large with foal? Large enough that the whole world would be able to see what he had done to his mate? He both loved and hated that idea.
When a sleepy sounding vouice asked who they should tell first he blinked, "Didn't we just tell Chandra?" He asked, once again misunderstanding her meaning.... but then when he did he coughed and blushed a little, "Eh.... I mean.... Your brother? Or mother perhaps?" That brought a memory back of what he had overheard between Renesme and Alice, and he felt as if his cheeks were on fire. "I think your mother will be.... very... happy." He said with a gulp.
"Mmmm? Whys that?" Far to content to be so chatty now, as long her her foals were all born healthy and strong she would be happy, even if they took after some obscure relative she had never met, as long as someone could identify why they came out that colour or pattern it was all good. Though it was probably a good idea to tell her mother and Crown first, though if she had to tell them seperately then she would have to tell her mother first, Crown would understand... Though she had a feeling he might be sad... Would he ever have foals? She hoped so, Crown deserved to be loved and have everything he wanted in life.

He paused, not saying anything for a moment as he tried to decide what he should say to her. "Eh... I overheard... by accident, I swear I wasn't easedropping." He added quickly, not wanting Eden to see him as in the wrong or something. "Your mother talking to your grandmother, she... eh.... well...." He paused, hesitated more like, was he really saying this to her? He lowered his voice, fearing that he would be overheard and told off, "She said that she loved how you were around me.... and that... eh... well...." He blushed brighter if that possible, "...that she couldn't wait for some cute starry grandchildren." She had also added that were 'stunning like their Papa' but he couldn't bring himself to say that.
Noticing her looking sleepy he leaned forward and kissed under each eye. "Sleep Eden. I won't go anywhere. I promise."
Smiling at that, glad that her mother had come around to her mate. "Mmmm... Mum's got sense... I'm just happy I found my soul mate.... good looking was just a bonus." Nuzzling closer to him and starting to drift, not afraid of him vanishing, somehow she knew he would never abandon her. Falling sleep with a happy content smile next to him, with ideas of shairing her news when she woke with those that matterd most to her, well other that Orion.
