Fitting the Pieces into PlaceWord Count: 529 He just couldn't get her out of his head.
The Princess, his princess, was a lovely sight to behold. Howl was barely able to concentrate while at work. He had managed to royally screw up approximately three orders during his work day at Maize Maizier. He was still new in comparison to some of the veterans who worked there, but his manager did still talk to him.
Rather than lie or get into specifics, he made a general comment about how his head wasn't in the right place. Such a vague statement seemed to get his manager to pat him on the shoulder sympathetically. She too had been there at some point. "Just make sure that you put your all into your work, okay Howl?"
He had nodded his head, making it seem as if he had humbly taken her suggestion.
However, his job was not his work. His work was truly his duty to a Princess from another time in which his Ancestor had served before him.
Rather than go patrol that evening, the lad sat in his condo that evening upon a rocking chair that his mother usually used when she visited him. The gentle swaying of the chair was calming, and it helped him to think.
Where would I even begin to start seeking the Princess of Neptune out?
That was perhaps one of the most difficult pieces of the puzzle to figure out. However, rather than try to start from some strange angle he knew nothing about, he decided to analyze another Princess he knew of.
Polaris...
What did he know of this young lady? She was a splendid dancer at the prom, and had the right amount of humility. She was splendidly proper and had herself her own knights.
She is also Sailor Polaris...
He stopped mid thought to repeat the obvious phrase through his mind again.
She is also Sailor Polaris!
That was it! The Princess of Polaris was also Sailor Polaris! It was perhaps in plain sight all along, which in itself made him feel silly for not realizing it sooner, but such a fact was something he grasped onto tightly now. Clearly that meant that if the Princess of Neptune was out there, it was very likely that she would be known as Sailor Neptune now!
Would she know how important she was to this war? Would she even have the power to do anything now that the war had grown to such a tremendous size? Would she even know who she really was?
I need to find her. It was his duty! A Squire was nothing without his Princess! It just happened to be a perk that his princess was so lovely. It made things easier for him. It gave him more motivation to get started.
Without a thought in his head, he exited the building, using the route to the rooft top to make his change to Nysa.
I will find her!
With that thought guiding him, he leapt off the building, bounding to the next rooftop, starting an evening's patrol. He'd find nothing that evening, but perhaps he did find something in the resolve behind his new purpose.

Formalities and VisitsWord Count: PENDING Now that he was no longer in the prison of Hillworth, birthdays could be quite a pleasant thing. He had a place in the city of Destiny City he could call home, even if his parents were indeed paying for it. It was a place he could modify into looking like a true home. It was someplace he'd be proud to show off to his parents. And today was the day to show it off.
There was a sort of odd fluttery feeling that had built up in his stomach as he heard the knock upon the door. The last time he had seen his parents here, it had been Christmas and it still looked more like something his mother had set up. There was no Howl-spin to the place. In all honesty, not too many things had changed. The only noticeable thing was the addition of various photographs of flora and a couple potted plants. However, he could imagine his parents giving him some sort of disapproving glance if they didn't approve of his modifications.
He stepped up to the doorway and opened it up. "Good evening, Mother and Father." The pair outside of his door were a handsome couple, they always had been. His father had obviously just come from some sort of business meeting, Howl could tell by the suit he wore. His mother had obviously had enough time to get dressed up and wore a rather fashionable ash grey coat for the get together. She was draped along her husband's arm, as she should have been. "It is lovely to see you both. Please come in for a bit!"
The lad stepped back and gestured for the pair to come in. The man at the door easily seemed to release the woman from his arm and guided her into entering first, practicing the ever infamous "Lady's first" practice. The brunette nodded her head and uttered a quiet "Thank you." The man followed after her, to which Howl closed the door, then took the lead.
He was the host now, and he had to act as such. "I do hope you like what I have done to the place... it just needed something to liven the space up." They walked past the living area, then towards the dining area. "I know we have reservations... but I figured we could do with a quick cup of tea before we left."
Upon the table were three cups of tea. Two were steaming, but one had to be absolutely cold since no heat seemed to be emanating from the top in the form of steam. Both of his parents knew immediately which cups belonged to them and retrieved either of the hot cups. Their son was quite particular when it came to his tea and the temperature it was at.
Neither took a seat, since they were not planning on staying too long. His mother was the first one to speak up. "The condo looks nice, Howl." She was merely being polite, it was easy to tell she was not impressed one way or another. The woman stirred a spoonful of sugar into her tea, while her husband took a couple of sips of the tea without any additional extras.
Finally picking up his own cup of tea, Howl took a brief sip. He then mentioned something which had been on his mind as he had been decorating. "I have been thinking that the wall space could use something to decorate it as well. Perhaps some of my decorative sabres from back at home..."
In a firm tone, the man spoke up. "Out of the question!"
It wasn't exactly an unreasonable response, and Howl was very aware of why he'd deny him. Logically, they all knew Howl could just buy himself some more sabres if he wanted to. The internet was a booming industry. However, in a retreating tone, he uttered "Yes sir."
In an effort to make it a little less tense, Anastasia spoke up again. "I think the place will be lovely enough once the flowers finally start blooming. Do you plan to get larger plants in the future, son?"
With a slight chuckle and another sip of tea, he offered his mother a smile. "I need to do a little bit of research to see if there are any indoor plants that are large, yet easy enough to maintain. I do work now, so I cannot spend all my time here to nurture the flowers."
"Ah yes, Maize Maizier, was it? It sounds like a quaint little place. I still think you should have gone to college immediately after graduating."
He nodded his head slightly. Howl didn't entirely disagree. "If I was planning to go into the career path similar to Father, then it would have been wisest for me to continue with school immediately. However, the path I want to take... I am quite certain none will mind a year long gap between my graduating and resuming my higher education."
