It was not his night tonight.
He had decided to patrol, and the moment he had powered up, he could sense an overwhelming dark energy nearby. It was definitely something far stronger than a youma, and something he was not prepared to deal with this evening.
So in his cowardice, he attempted to flee.
Unfortunately, it seemed that the source of the dark energy had other plans. It didn't linger and instead started to pursue him, starting to gain. Whoever his opponent was, he'd soon enough be face-to-face with them at this rate.

There was something delightful about the hunt. Chasing down scared little senshi and knights for the hell of it, watching them shiver and shudder in front of her, like the big bad villain she was.
Painite loved it. That was never going to stop.
She spotted the knight she had been following at a distance, smiling. He was definitely trying to avoid her, and why wouldn't he? He was in very real danger here.
Let him run: there was no where he could go now.
For a long while she stayed on the roof tops and followed him at a distance, closing in sometimes but pulling back. It was like a game of cat and mouse, but she was not one to play for too long. At least, not this part. The real fun was in the meeting. She teleported and appeared in front of Nysa, effectively cutting off his current path.
She smiled at him. She didn't think she knew him, but then, scared faces had a bit of a habit of blending together. Maybe she would need to hear him scream first.
"Hello, little lady."

Nysa was indeed startled to find a woman rather suddenly appear in his path. However, he wasn't so much scared as he was surprised. The most he let out was a gasp as he quickly skidded himself to a stop, preventing what could have been a disasterous collission. He might have only been a Page, but he seemed to have a certain skill when it came to his footwork.
Straightening himself upright, he looked at the woman before him.
He knew her name well, though he was certain she did not even know who he was or how he had affected her once upon a time. General Painite.
Normally he wasn't the sort to put on a serious face, but for this very special monster of a woman, he made an exception. Her greeting could have been seen as jest, or it could have been seen as a genuine confusion of his gender. Both had happened on multiple occasions in the past.
"I can assure you, General, that I am most certainly not a lady."
If he had been in more of a conversational mood, he might have beat around the bush. However, he was in no mood to be toyed with. He had already had his fill of that when meeting this woman the first time. "Tell me what your business is with me this evening." The lad crossed his arms in a manner that allow one of his gloved hands to reach into his coat to touch the edges of the quill hiding in an interior pocket.

"Such a serious lad!"
She laughed and watched him, taking in his stance. Not exactly ready to attack her, but certainly not playing nice. He wasn't confused, which meant he wasn't as new as she might have guessed by his power level. Maybe he had heard of her, even.
That made her bristle with excitement.
She noticed the way he has folding his arms, and wondered if he had a weapon in his coat. But no, goodies didn't have weapons that were useful or dangerous to her: she did not have to worry about him using some magic trick either. Knights were even more useless than their senshi counter parts.
He was just a little toy for her. She smiled at him, though it was not a particularly warm or welcoming smile, and there was no friendliness in her gaze. She was excited, yes, and happy in her way, but it wasn't something he could share in. Mostly because he was the target.
"How about you try and guess?" She called her weapon to her hand, the long spear all but thrumming under her hand as she gripped it eagerly. "I'll even give you this hint." She tapped her thumb against the spear, grinning.

"I beg your pardon if I do not seem overly eager about having a General target me. However, I do tend to value my life." There was a pause as he then mentioned "It would seem as if you are doing enough smiling for the both of us, General."
In all honesty, he had seen similar smiles upon the faces of various students within the Hillworth facility. Mischievous, brimming with excitement, and in all honesty, sometimes seen as a threat tactic.
However, a smile did manage to crack upon his features as he watched the spear pop out into view. "I suspect if I were to humor you and take a guess, it would not do me any good in the long run." He cautiously took a side step, trying to move slightly around the current threat, while keeping his attention upon her movements. She was going to strike, that much was a given. It was when that was the main question.

Who wouldn't be over eager to have a General targeting them? It was an honor, and they should respect that. Of course, Painite knew full well that no senshi in their right mind wanted to be hunted like an animal, but again, that was what made it fun. She nodded her head slowly, almost as if she was listening.
Except she didn't care.
"Actually, if I'm honest, it doesn't matter one way or the other what you say from this point on. So if you want to comfort yourself and be snappy and brave, then please, stick to that. I won't tell anyone, though, if you break down and cry."
Well that was a lie. She would tell everyone, because it would be a triumph. She judged the space between them, leisurely turning her spear in her grasp now. She took a step forward, catching the staff with the blade pointing toward him. He was moving as well, but she didn't stop him. She wanted to see what he would do.
"Your starseed is going to be the last thing you see before you die," she said conversationally, until the last word. Then she snarled, expression falling into something serious, deadly, and she lunged at him.

She moved to point the spear towards him, and he continued to watch intently as he almost seemed to circle her in a cat-like manner. The blade was now aimed, which meant she'd strike soon, whether it be a simple little thrust, or a full out attack. The hated woman spoke of his demise, teased him, then finally threatened him before she finally pounced like a jaguar. It didn't matter how prepared one was, when the beast attacked, you'd feel the claws digging into your skin. Nysa attempted to jump out of the way, leaping backwards to try to avoid the length of her weapon, but a Page's strengths, no matter how great, were no match for that of a General. He was lucky to only feel her spear digging into his shoulder. Painite would want you to scream out.Instead of crying out as was the base reaction to such pain which now throbbed through his shoulder, he grit his teeth and held in the noise. If you stay only on the defensive, you will die.
There is no way I can win against the likes of her...
Then should you not at least die trying? With one pristine glove, he gripped to the non-bladed portion of Painite's weapon. The other went to dig for something that was hidden in the interior pocket. Something that had oddly started to glow.

Painite was graceful, a practiced grace to her movements that came from many encounters. Though she always seemed to be at play, she was a hardened warrior and had quite a lot of training under her belt that made her fast and sure. Her confidence added another level of poise to her movements, giving her no fear and an absolute certainty that she would get her prey.
Even though she generally did not get to kill every senshi or knight she ran across, she always entered the battle as if she were expecting to continue an unflawed record. Why focus on the disappointments and failures? She learned from them, and pushed herself past them.
Every encounter was new and tantalizing, and she felt her blood pulsing with raw excitement. It made the air hot, made her feel uncomfortable in her own skin, and yet that crawling, gripping anticipation was what fueled her. She craved it.
As much as her spear craved blood.
She was disappointed when he kept his scream of pain to himself, making a face but not letting it deter her. She twisted her spear, trying to drag him down as she pulled it toward the ground while she had the flesh of his shoulder around it. His hand stopped her effort and she growled at him.
"Think you can out muscle me?" She laughed at that outright, not thinking him much of a threat and too absorbed in the thrill of battle, and what she felt was certain victory, to notice. She drove the blade forward again, pushing against his hold, then pulled it down in an effort to free it.
She wanted to see how he handled the rodeo. She only half noted his hand, but paid it no mind. What could he do? Whatever he had, it was useless, because that's how Pages worked.

Lithia_Brandon (One more post from you and I will invite the other player to pop in <3 ) Painite most certainly had the upper hand. She was easily able to dig the weapon into his shoulder more, turning and twisting it just to send his nerves into sensory overload. His one hand barely as able to keep hold, but his fingers twitched around the base of the weapon. He let out a pained noise, but nothing as loud as a scream. Only enough to give the viscious woman mild pleasure at best at his expense. His other hand had shakily made it into his interior pocket, and the moment that his fingers brushed the edges of the softly glowing feather, the lad started to glow as well. His clothing seemed to shift and change slightly, and the feather he held between his fingers seemed to gain an accent of its own in the form of a teal ribbon. Once the glowing had faded, Page Nysa was no more. Squire Nysa, on the otherhand, was left in his place at the other end of that spear.

General Painite could almost feel the pain that her enemy was in, though she savored and enjoyed it. Probably because she was feeling the thrill of inflicting it, and not the misery of suffering it. She actually did not enjoy feeling pain at all, and would much rather just avoid that part of it if she could.
She wanted to be better than that, and would continue to strive for it.
"Come on, little bird, I know you can sing better than that," she cooed, wanting to wrench the spear around a bit more, and do some very serious damage. Maybe she could pry his shoulder out of its socket, if she managed to get her spear in the right place.
Her thoughts were distracted when he began to glow, and on instinct she took a step back. She had seen enemies power up before, but not enough for her not to react to it. She watched in surprise, and slight concern, as the form in front of her shifted.
At least she had pulled the weapon free, and gave him a bit of breathing room. But she scowled at him, though there was still a grin on her face even as she snarled.
"So, the little boy is growing up, huh? How very cute, but it's not going to save you." She lashed out, but this time not with her spear. His defiance, his powering up, hit her last nerve and she was aiming to hurt him in the worst way she knew how.
All she needed to do was get her lithe fingers around his pretty little star seed. Then he would see, no matter how strong he got, no matter how hard he fought, there was nothing he could do against the true strength of Chaos.

Though he was released from the weapon's hold upon his shoulder, it did not make him any less injured. There was quite a bit of blood, and though he naturally wanted to grab hold of the wound, he also didn't really want to get his glove and weapon covered in blood.
...wait...
The quill did not always have a ribbon upon it. It probably wasn't the time to actually dwell upon it, but he recalled that his weapon was supposed to grow as well. This did not seem like much of an improvement.
The General's smile seemed to grow more tense, losing any natural sense to it. It was like she was forcing it to remain curved in such a manner. She practically hissed out her threat, and with warning (since that was essentially what she hissed out), she struck!
He might have been bleeding, but it didn't mean he could move his legs. Those still worked quite well. She still had rank on him, but it seemed as if he was able to move a bit faster now, even with the slight drag of tending to an injured arm.
Still not enough...

"Not brave enough to pick on people your own level?" The voice boomed through the empty night air, followed almost immediately by the thud of boots slapping the ground.
War wasn't fair. It was a truth that Polaris had come to accept.. well.. live with was a more appropriate term. But even in the unfairness of it all bullying those weaker then you was something that struck a chord in her. To use all that power you had to victimize someone instead of to help someone. It was entirely uncalled for. And considering the Negaverse's version of bullying well.. often left people without a pulse, it was the worse possible kind.
It was why she'd be drawn this way versus the patrol path she'd planned out for the night. The large dark energy source pulsing in the distance that sent a senshi's nerves on edge, and somewhere, almost hidden and engulfed within it that small spark of a low leveled knight. Polaris had hoped it was a coincidence, simply two people working in a similar area, not pitted against each other. But she realized it had been exactly that as she got in closer, and all the noise she made was an attempt to grab some attention and stall the stronger fighter as she got in close enough to actually do something about it.
The senshi of magnetism had yet to notice exactly who the page was, or even really that the page was now a squire, more concerned with the General.
Right now her best bet was distraction or distracting. Which was why the General would soon find herself being pelted with small metal objects from all sides. Unfortunately, so was Nysa if he wasn't careful. Luckily he'd seen and heard of this attack before. "Magnetic field"

General Painite paused when she felt and heard an interloper in her game, and turned in time to see a senshi come to tell her off for being a bad guy. Seriously, what did they want from her?
She thought they wanted to fight the bad guys. She gave them a reason to fight without having to worry about feeling guilty about it: she gave them the motivation they wanted to justify having to use force. She knew they were all just cowards in the end, hiding behind their ideals of peace when all they wanted was the same thing the Negaverse did. They were no better: the senshi killed and injured and did terrible things just as often as the Negaverse did, yet it was Chaos that was called the bad guy. Painite just played the role she was handed to her, without complaint or conflict.
It worked in her favor that she liked it, and was good at it.
She growled as the metal flotsam and jetsam came sailing her way, getting pelted with some and blocking others with her spear. She glared at the senshi, but laughed.
"Every one of you are threats to us," she replied, "I think I'm rather brave for taking on all comers. Even fighting two against one." Her eyes locked on Polaris, and it was clear that the Nega had picked a new target. As soon as she was able to attack, she would.

There was a pause to his steps, and apparently to the General's steps as well as a voice seemed to call out for attention. It was a familiar voice, and one that belonged to a young lady he respected greatly. Excellent timing, Princess...Nysa wasn't the sort to let his thoughts and attentions wander for long, and soon enough he found himself looking upon what seemed to be a very distracted Painite. She seemed to turn away, as if no longer acknowledging his presence now that there was new prey waiting for her. He still refrained from gripping his injury, but he straightened up briefly, putting his weapon away in his interior pocket again. I do not need this right now...Where as Painite seemed ready to attack Polaris, Nysa soon enough found himself springing at the woman, the fist of his non-injured side balled up, aiming to strike the General. He would wonder at a later time if he had lost all senses of sanity for a few seconds.

Her plan had, very luckily, worked this time. The attention had shifted to her as the vaguely familiar General addressed her. She'd seen her before in a few random battles, most memorably the summer camp fiasco a while before. Her sphere looked just as sharp and terrifying.
"I won't argue against you being brave. But being brave doesn't make one necessarily righteous or smart." In fact bravery, at least the rash sort, often led to very stupid decisions. Polaris had certainly been there and done that in the past.
"I'm a pretty big threat you know. I've taken out countless youma, even a few of your own when necessary. So don't turn your back." It was true.. but at the same time it felt like a bluff to the senshi of magnetism. Hopefully one that Painite didn't read into as she shifted her body into a more threatening positioning, her hands lifting as her eyes darted around for a nice big piece of metal to throw at the other woman.
She only faltered slightly as the brave, and very likely rash and stupid, squire lashed out at the General. That wasn't helping!!!
