Momoko Katakura and i have a hard time coming up with Bio's. oh and my bio That's okay. A lot of people do, but trust me, a good bio makes for a better character, so all we're really asking you is to try. Momoko Katakura and how does a bio affect an RP? especially when no one but her knows about it? Aside from me knowing her background its useless for you guys to know it since it would technically *if you want to get down to the smallest detail* Bio is extremely important to the RP. First of all, forcing you, the writer, to flesh out where your character comes from gives you a general idea of where you want your character to go, how you want your character to develop. Role playing isn't just about fighting, it's about playing a role, filling a character's shoes. You don't have to go into every detail, like "on her 13th birthday she got a bike" or some crazy stuff like that. It's meant for you personally. Plus, when read over the bios people write, it gives me a general idea of how they're going to role play. Momoko Katakura it would be GM to have your character act in anyway that would hint your character knew anything that wasn't told to him/her by mine. It's not for characters in the story to know. It's for you to know. Like I said before, a good Bio is supposed to give you a good idea of how your character is supposed to be. Momoko Katakura and as for the personality its hard to describe a traumatized persons personality in insane depths. I feel i don't need to make her personality description thirty pages long *over dramatization* See, here is where a good bio would come in handy. Personalities are shaped by experience. If your bio is fleshed out well enough, writing up a decent personality shouldn't be too much trouble at all, because it's just how your character acts and reacts with certain situations. If your character has a fragile and traumatized personality, the bio would be something that explains why. Take a look at these profiles to get a feel for what I'm ultimately looking for. link, link, link, link. That said, I'm not asking you to make profiles on that level. I would love it if you did, but you don't have to, but at the very least just take into consideration the suggestions that've been made and do your best to incorporate them. It'll make you a better role player, and more importantly, a better writer. As for your kakugane, I think it looks alright. Absorb damage and redirect it, that seems fine to me, maybe hold off on the healing thing until you level up. I'll send you a PM for when you can use it, but for now it's off limits. Just keep in mind that your character is at the lowest rank starting out, so the amount of damage she can absorb won't be all that much until you rank up.

Appearance: (see pic for guide) His eyes are sky blue in color, with a scar running down his left eye to his cheek. Is always seen wearing black. Perhaps he is always mourning the death of his parents? He always has the cross his mother had, either around his neck or wrapped around his right hand. Always at his side is the katana his master gave him upon completing his training.
Personality: Cain's personality can be described as cold and uncaring. Thanks to the special nature of his Buso Renkin, Cain must keep total control of his emotions. As such he always practices control even when his Buso Renkin isn't active. This however doesn't seem to interfere with his need to protect his comrades. Which he has done on several occasions at the cost of bodily harm.
Background: Cain was born into a seemingly normal family and a normal life. If you call being forced to train in swordsmanship at the age of 5 normal. But, he was happy either way. He had no idea his mother was an alchemist warrior. No idea until the age of ten when a group of homunculus attacked his home. His mother revealed her powers in front of Cain and his father, she fought long and hard to protect them. But there where far too many. In the end Cain's mother was struck down, his father soon followed when he stood between Cain and an attacking homunculus. Cain's grief stricken body somehow managed to find it's way safely to his mother's side. His hands finding the kakugane that she used. And upon closing his hand around it a voice entered his head, "Finally! Now we kill!" In the next moment everything turns into a red blur for Cain.
When Cain awakes the Homunculus are dead. But a strange urge to kill is still nagging at his soul. For two years Cain get's lost in the blood lust. Killing homunculus left and right. Hunting them down to their nests. Soon the Alchemist Warriors took notice of this new player and sent warriors out to find him. And find him they did, only to find themselves in a life or death battle against a demon. So lost was he in the blood-lust that his Buso Renkin produced that he couldn't tell friend from foe. But even through the blood lust Cain would stay his blade just before the killing blow of any human. An internal battle would ensue. But always Cain would flee a battle before killing any humans.
Then finally on a night with a full moon. Not unlike the night his parents were murdered. A humanoid homunculus attacked him with it's own buso renkin. For four days and nights they fought. Until Cain finally dealt the killing blow on the final night. Cain was a wreck, bleeding from several wounds, exhausted, one would say he would be dead if it wasn't for the kakugane. A new voice enters Cain's mind, one that made Cain's heart feel at ease; "Come, pick me up. I will help you find peace." Cain's tired eyes lock onto the kakugane that the homunculus had and he slowly approached it. The original voice screamed in protest, but Cain forces himself to move forward and picked it up.
A flash of brilliant light envelopes Cain and the other voice screams in anger and pain. A new voice enters Cain's head, "With me by your side Akuma can be controlled. We are now one soul again." Cain's mind clears for the first time in years. And he cries.
Later Cain seeks out his old master, who taught him the way of the sword, and trains to control his mind and body. In the three years that follow Cain shows a new determination for learning the way of the sword. His master is astonished at the progress he makes. In just a year Cain learns to control his mind and body. In the two years after that Cain hones his mind and body to acceptable levels of control. Then at the age of fifteen Cain sets out to join the alchemist academy, by the age of 17 he has risen through the ranks. But on the first year of his 17th birthday, after loosing control of War again, Cain disappears to train once again. It is a year later and Cain has returned to put his training back into use.

Name of Primary Kakugane: Buso Renkin: War and Peace
Special Ability Of your Buso Renkin: War and Peace. Though they are two separate kakugane, they are part of the same soul. They represent the extremes in Cain's heart that split the night his parents were murdered before his eyes. War and Peace have sentient minds and often communicate with Cain or each other.
War - Likes to be called Akuma - Has the ability to create and manipulate fire. By exciting the particles in the air Akuma creates an area of intense heat. Akuma's major ability though is that of Blood Rage - Blood Rage forms an area roughly 50meters in diameter where anyone caught in Blood Rage has the intense urge to kill everyone in sight. Even allies. Blood Rage takes intense concentration, so much so that Cain can focus on nothing else. If he looses focus for even a second Blood Rage will end.
Peace - Likes to be called Angelus - Angelus has an ability to create and manipulate ice. Angelus uses the water moisture present in the air to do this. So a desert environment would severely weaken this ability. Angelus's main ability though is called Sanctuary - Sanctuary is much like Blood Rage. Only that in Sanctuary no harm can be done to the entities within. Even if an attack comes from outside the zone, it is nullified. Just like Blood Rage, Sanctuary takes an intense amount of focus and concentration.
With both Blood Rage and Sanctuary. Cain can not be influenced by either ability. And must be outside the Zones to set them up.
War is still a threat to Cain's sanity. If he ever loses Peace. There is a risk that he will get lost in the blood lust again. And should he loose War. Cain will be unable to fight.

I love you character. That story was awesome.
Momoko Katakura, that is the type of profile that works, and works well. I have a great idea of the how and why of his character. He also did good to weave his kakugane into his character's life, too. Everything flows just right.
Now Cain, let's see. Again, great job on your character. The only thing I see that cause a few problems is that you gave him two Buso Renkin. In this guild, for a character to have two weapons, his rank should be pretty up there, like rank 2 at the least, but you did well enough explaining how the dude got up there on his own, and I have a pretty good hunch that your dude might deserve to start out above the others, but I'm still not too sure.
Tell ya what, I'm gonna have someone role play with you, I got the perfect dude in mind too, (if I can get him t'get on that is). It'll be like a demo, or a test. If it looks like you did well, you get the rank. If I find some things that could be worked on, you start off lower. Fair enough?
Either way your character's approved. Just make your thread, and I'll see to it that the specifics of the test get to you shortly.

Thanks, this guy was running around in my head around the middle of the series, fleshed out towards the end, and written to "paper" right when the credits rolled lol That show just gave me a plethora of ideas.
Anywho! Sounds good, no pressure or anything right lol, bah my rp muscles maybe a little rusty but we'll see what happens mrgreen If anything else my other idea was that he would get demoted upon his return. For skipping out on his duties for a year. In any organization that would be a serious thing.

Indeed, not to mention the distrust of other alchemists for losing control of War again. His personality would dictate that he had to prove that he wasn't weak, in mind or body. All in all, would make things pretty interesting.

Appearance: Exactly like the pick up there except with the School uniform instead of the kimono and her hair is a bit shorter cause she cut it.
Personality: Zu is an Average invisible student. She keeps to herself and doesn't make any attempt at relationships out of fear of rejection. She is passive by nature and doesn't like unnecessary fighting. She is also kind and tries to help in anyway she can when she can. Though it is hard for her to try and help unless asked due to her fear of being pushed away by others.
Background: Kimichiku was about four years old when her father abandoned her and her mother who was ill. ZuZu had an older brother who was taken with her father when he divorced Zu's mother. She never saw her older brother again nor heard from him or her father. Her mother was just an average single mom who happened to be sick. As soon as ZuZu was able to she got a job to help her mother out. Her medicine took a lot of money and soon the child support money stopped coming and Zu's mother died from her disease about around her 18th birthday. Her whole life she never really made any real friends due to her fathers over possessive and liquor driven rage and verbal abuse. This made her fear men and fear rejection from other girls. As to why she fears rejection from girls? Even she doesn't know why. After her mom died she had to move into the schools dorms since her small part time job couldn't provide her with enough money to support a lease on an apartment. Despite being closer to her classmates she still made little effort to interact with anyone. On her eighteenth birthday she opened the box her mother gave her before she died and found a hexagonal piece of metal with roman numerals on it. She didn't know what they meant but she also saw her mothers hairpin and began to cry. After she regained herself she put the pin in her hair and decided to wear it everywhere she went. She didn't know what the chunk of metal was but she decided to keep it with her assuming it was some sorta lucky charm or something. She still does not know what it is.

Special Ability Of your Buso Renkin: Incredible defensive properties and the ability to put up a paper thin shield that guards against and absorbs energy type attacks. The armor absorbs some of the impacts while protecting from most any slashing attacks. The heat generated from something striking her armor is also absorbed. When enough energy is absorbed it can be used for one of two things, Exploding in all directions with enough force to blow a door of a bank safe open and rip it in half pretty much at the same time or, heal someone who is wounded by a kiss of life. *only applies for other's. she can only heal normally like other kakugane users*

Oh yeah. That's great. I feel like I know your character already. Good profile, good profile. Make your thread, and start role playing. Since you said your character isn't for any side, you won't get a team (unless something changes in the RP,) so after that, you choose a kakugane number and you're good to go.

Personality: Reiji is a cool-headed and calculating individual, but deep down he really does care about others. Because of his family, he has been constantly pushed to be the best at everything he does. Due to his family's status and his own talents, he pushes others away, afraid that he wouldn't be able to relate to "normal" people. He always feels like he has to prove himself, and he can be very short tempered with people because of the constant stress he's under. Reiji knows he doesn't have to try so hard, but he secretly wants to make up with his actions for the friends he can't make...and the one that he lost.
Background: Reiji is the fourth son of the Kobayashi family, who head the Ginsei Scientific Progressive Group, a powerful collective of businesses. Growing up in a wealthy and influential family, he had the best education possible. At the same time, however, Reiji's father was always pushing him to compete with his brothers. He excelled in school, and was enrolled in Ginsei University by age sixteen.
In college, Reiji has remained an outsider. In an effort to be better liked by his fellow students, he took occasional jobs solving the small mysteries that happened around campus, but in the end this only made the young man seem more strange. The only person who seemed to take an interest in Reiji was his chemistry professor, an unusual man himself, who seemed more concerned with his own experiments than teaching his class. Reiji soon found himself assisting in the older man's private work, a project the professor said was to "unlock secrets lost to history".
Their work was actually that of researching the creation of Homunculai. Most of the creatures were quickly disposed of, and those that were kept were never fed in Reiji's presence. He thought only of the incredible accomplishments he and his teacher, until the day a young girl stepped into his life. Her name was Amaya Minami. Though he didn't know it at the time, she was an Alchemist Warrior, sent to investigate the very experiments Reiji was a part of, after the disappearances of several students. The young woman sought out Reiji for information, due to his reputation among the students. Somehow, Amaya saw through the boy's uncaring exterior, and even ended up trusting him with the truth of her mission.
For his part, Reiji, far from feeling threatened, felt determined to show her all the good he thought that homunculus research could achieve. He threw himself into his research with a vengeance, working harder than ever to discover the secrets of creating humanoid homunculai. Warrior Amaya could sense that something had changed in him, and in concern began to redouble her efforts as well. Unfortunately, this lead to Amaya coming to the attention of Reiji's professor...a man not nearly so interested in humanity. The older man unleashed his creations on her. It was only by chance that Reiji happened to come in time to see, and though she fought valliantly, Warrior Amaya was slain. Enraged by his professor's actions, Reiji picked up Amaya's kakugane, and was able to summon his own Buso Renkin to finish what she had begun. However, during the fight, the professor attacked Reiji with the unfinished homunculus Embryo he had been working on.
The imperfect embryo fused with Reiji's body, with mixed results. Unlike a homunculus, he is still needs to eat, and is not indestructible...or immortal...he also lacks the desire to consume human flesh. He is stronger than someone of his build should be, and more resilient, but has also developed a weakness to strong sunlight, and mild hyperopia (farsightedness) for which he must wear glasses.

Special Ability Of your Buso Renkin: A person wearing the Hermes Guard has the power of time dilation. They can cause their own time to move at a higher or slower speed than that of the world around them. However, the slower an object's relative time is, the more "solid" it seems. Thus, while Reiji can make himself harder to damage by slowing down time, when he speeds up it becomes harder for him to do any damage. So, essentially he can become slower and better defended, or faster and effectively weaker.

Background:Kaito was just a normal high school kid, hanging out with friends, and constantly harassed by jerks. but, one night, he and his friends were ambushed by a Homunculus. he was gravely injured, but when the beast tried to eat his friends, Kaito felt a surge of will to protect them, and out of nowhere, a strange, holy-looking scythe appeared in his hands. this scythe was his Buso Renkin. with his new holy blade, he slew the homunculus who threatened his friends. luckily, they had passed out earlier, so they thought it was a dream. Kaito, however, knew it was real, so he decided to use his newfound power to help others in need of protection.

Special Ability Of your Buso Renkin: Saint Lucia can give Kaito the ability to fly, create small, personal energy shields, fire energy waves with one swing, and the blade and pole can extend to hit further targets in a spear-like fashion. in its strongest form, Divine Lucia, it transforms into a powerful suit of armor that can use all of its original powers, but instead of a scythe blade, the blades are two short sickles that swivel out from the forearms like a pair of tonfa.

What's with all the new members wanting to be alchemists? No one wants to be the "bad guy?" That's no fun. Well, I guess your profile's decent. I'd prefer if it were fleshed out a little more, but if that's the way you roll, go ahead an' roll with it. It's approved. As for the team you're with, so far you're on your own. When more people sign up, they'll be partnered with you. Come up with a team name and make your profile thread.

Personality: Easy going loves to joke but when it comes down to it he is deadly when it comes to his job or protecting those dear to him.
Background: Lumias was born to a family of warriors that passed down a secret weapon to only those of the family. Since a small child he had to train alot so that he would be able inherit the scythe from the age of three he was trained in the ancient arts of his forefathers and were taught secreat techniques which would allow him to succeed his family become the head of the house but on the day of his 20th birthday he stole the treasure of his family and ran away. During his travels around the world he found that the secreat techniques that he had learned from the family allowed him to handle the family treasure to the full extent and one day while traveling he found that the scythe had the odd ability to teleport the wielder to any location that he could imagine. Having figured this ability out and taking a year to master it he started to lend his talents out to people who were in need of a body guard and became well known in that circle. He was also known as the Roaming Reaper because the family trasure that he had gotten was a scythe and he had a sickening expertise with it and didnt show emotion when killing in the line of duty that he earned the name the Roaming reaper.
Lumias found on one of his days of wondering a monster that was attacking small children and he had a strange urge he didnt feel any fear or any emotion other than the urge to destroy the monster. Lumias destroyed the strange creature after a short battle and he decided that he had found his true purpose in life and now has devoted his life to hunting down every one of these monsters and destroy them he would not rest till every one of them was destroyed.
