Devyn landed not far behind Jazz, glancing around the Marsh with a sneer. "Disgusting place, isn't it?"
A slight hissing near his ear caught his attention, his ear twitching just a bit. Glancing over, he held out an arm and a green snake, only lighter than the Pae's own coloring, slithered over and coiled around his arm. "You're a wanderer, aren't you, Fang?"
The snake shot the demon a 'look,' hissing dismissively, which only made Devyn chuckle. "I was just kidding, and you know it. Now, I have a favor to ask you. See those tracks the pretty lady is looking at? We're going to follow those. Now, I have no problem following them, obviously, but I want you to be on the lookout for other things. Any strange scents or heat signitures, I want you to let me know, okay?"
There was a moment of silence, then a small, short hiss with a very Pae'il-like nod before the snake slithered down the demon's body and into the much, following the trail at his own speed, much quicker than that of the Pae'il following behind him.
Devyn grinned, catching up to Jazz. "That ought to even the odds a bit. Maybe they have a headstart on us...but we have Fang."

Jazz watched the snake. She hadn't really seen alot of her familar. It was her own fault, but that was okay.
"Okay, I see. Now let's find out where these led us. If all else fails we can always go back to the teen and bug him more." Jazz giggled and winked.
The elder began to follow the footprints wondering where this set would lead.

"It doesn't...but I could use a bit more." He gently pushed his wings down to lift up into the air and glide back over to his shadow hound. His feet were starting to get sucked into the mud. Raken felt a little bit of protective curiousity n** at the back of his head concerning her and dameon, but remained silent on the matter. They had more important things to deal with.

Devyn nodded and chuckled softly. "Now, there's an idea. I like it. Alright, on the hunt once more!" he exclaimed, pointing dramatically into the air before heading off after the snake. Hopefully, Fang would have more luck than the Pae'il had been.
Fang slithered quickly through the muck, pausing every once in a while to flick his tongue and test the air before moving on again. Slitted eyes darted back and forth, seeking any other heat signatures than those of the two Pae'il that followed him. Sure, Devyn may tease him sometimes, but the two had a bond that most others would never understand or even hope to guess at.

Jazz kept following and looking for anything out of the ordinary. "Humm... I don't seem to be seeing anything." Jazz told Devyn. Was this a cold lead? Still, what that many footprints it could have been any of them.
Jazz shurgged and kept on walking. It was bound to lead somewhere.

Starry pushed the star back towards Raken, having pulled a long sliver out of her arm. "Something wrong?" She asked, catching a small change on Raken's face, though it went away quickly.
Yukio stumbled through the trees, making his way to Starry and Raken. He was still a ways off, but he could see the light that Starry had created with her stars. If either of them were paying attention they would be able to see a small glimpse of blue or the snowman on his chest.

"No, nothing." He followed the hound away from the marsh, sort of circling around. "This is impossible" He muttered under his breath. How were they to know if these footprints had any sort of connection to the attack? His head then snapped to the side, blue eyes catching the light of the star. "...just another pae."

*past* The streak of lighting confermen Coronus guess this was not a normal pae it was a fusion of that of two different races one of an angel and the other or a demon. she noticed some other pae fighting in the distance though she did not pay them much attention a young pae a fae she guessed stood before the mixed pae asking about a mellon. That is when she herd it the the mixed pae spoke to her self called her self a name. "Bren." coronus said softly that was the mixed pae though who was the one she was after she could not be sure but she had some part of a name and names were important. "I am going to need to call sunny Jones on this one." she said as she walked though the time stream back in to the present and the mud.

Sunny Jones had been persuaded reluctantly by her elder sister to join her in the mud.
"Coronus you know I do not think this is the best of ideas." Sunny who was preparing to listen to any of the spirits of dead pae around her
"I know this is not your type of thing sunny dear but I need you to do it I need to find out about Bren a mixed wing that I think was the erptrature behind the attack on the mysterious pae. All I need you to do is to hear from some of the spirits that is all. Please sunny do it for me pretty please?" Coronus was begging her younger sister who gave in
"you win though you owe me big for this got it." Sunny said as she removed her hat she was hit immediately by voices from all around. her eyes were shut tight as she concentrated and soon she grabbed on to Coronus. Coronus helped her sister put back on her hat. "Some thing bad is here some thing very bad Brenwen is working for it sis." there were tears in the purple haired paes eyes. "They are after them the reincarnated sprits of something I do not know what. But that fae the one that was hurt they think he is one of them."
Coronus hugged her younger sister this was more than the adult could take she may have a love for adventure but some thing about every thing that happened just scared her.
"Sis beware evil is here."

"Ugh, this place is a right mess," Devyn complained quietly for the seventh time. "I don't see anything either. I'm starting to think this is no place for decent Pae'il," he spoke up louder for Jazz to hear. Sighing, he reached up and shoved his hand through his hair to get it out of his face...only making it muddy in the process.
"Oh, for Guardians' sake..."
He barely resisted the urge to smack his palm against his forehead as that would only make matters worse.
"Jazz? I say we take a well-deserved break. I could use some rest and a bath, personally. Fang! You mind looking around a bit longer? You know how to find me if you discover anything."
The snake glanced back briefly from his search, nodding once more in that oddly almost-but-not-quite-Pae'il way, then setting out on his way again.
Glancing back at the Elder, he nodded his head in a brief, but polite sort of bow. "If you'll excuse me Jazz, I'll be taking my leave for now. It was a pleasure to meet you. If you need to find me again, I'll be resting down near the water's edge back in Loka Nei. Hopefully, I can get cleaned up and grab a bite to eat and a rest before starting this crazy hunt again."
With a roguish grin, he bowed deeply to the Elder, flaring his wings wide. Then he stood, taking off into the air with a leathery rustle, headed for Loka Nei Forest.

Jazz nodded. She wasn't as muddy or muddy at all this time. She floated above it to keep from her boots getting covered this time. Last time it took forever to clean it all off and her clothes.
"Alright, well if I don't see you again. Thanks for the help." Jazz bowed as well and then waved as he flew off.
Jazz looked around a bit more... "Now, what should I do? Go back to that teen's house? I just don't think I'm doing much help."

Waplei MarshOkay, so the marshes probably aren't your favorite place in the world. Still, they're a hard area to walk through, so perhaps the pirates thought it would be a good idea to go here to slow any pursuers down... and slow down it will. The knee-high muck is, quite frankly, a little disgusting and damp, and it's not fun to walk through, especially in the heat. The air was damp as it was, and this is probably only making it feel even warmer--or, at least, stickier. Unfortunately, it's just your luck that there isn't a single pirate here, and it looks like you'll have to turn around and go through the marshes again--or you can take a longer way too, if you know one. "Uuuung."
"Uuuugh"
Grabbing her leg, she took a minute to catch her breath before heaving it out of the muck and moving it foward.
"Uuuumph." Dae grunted, shifted her weight foward.
Watching the muck swallow it down again, she shuddered a bit. She wasn't really sure what was worse, the thought that this muck reminded her of creamed corn, or the fact that there were gnats trying to land on her eyeballs.
If the pirates had decided to drag some poor hula girl through this muck, well they were crazier than she was. In fact, she didn't even see any other disturbance in this area that wasn't brought on by her own presence.
With a resigned sigh, she turned at the hips and glanced back at the muck covered ground she had so wisely decided to trapse through an hour ago. Shifting her weight foward, she tugged at her back leg and waited for it to break through the muck. When it did, she threw it foward with a grunt.
"Uuuung."

"Remind me again why we're in this marsh?" Bel mutters and she wades lowly through the marsh. It was horrible, just digusting and the angel was going to be very glad when she was out of this marsh
"Because you thought we should turn left instead of right and we ended up here" Darius replies, he wasnt as bothered about the slime, he was a guy, it still did annoy him but not as badly. "Seems like noone is here though... Think we should turn back or just finish crossing through?"
Bel looks at him and scowls "Do I have to pick every direction??"

Dizzy wandered aimlessly for a while, trying to think like a pirate, and see if she could find clues as to where they went. They were so dirty, grungy and there were so many of them. How could they have disappeared?
*squish* *squish* *squish*
"uhh..." Dizzy looked around slightly confused as to why she suddenly was squishing through oatmeal. "Ugh, the dirty marsh." She tried to make her way back to the solid ground, straining to pull each leg out of the much. "I know for a fact pirates would not be here. No one in their right mind would be here."
Off in the distance, a little green teen Wilwarin was gathering samples and looked up when she heard the complaining fae. "Hey!"
