PJ's tail wagged excitedly. "Every move can look special! You just gotta figure out how to use it and how to highlight it! Plus you can try and combine it with another one!" he encouraged. He looked to Chima, grinning toothily. "Yeah! Exactly! I'd be happy to show ya guys some tricks! What kinda moves do you know??" He quirked his head at the mention of two others, but smiled as Gekkit clarified, nodding in understanding. "Oh-- hey!" He perked up, eyes moving past them to stare with interest, before looking behind him, "Ralward! Hey! Look, there's Jay! We shoudl go join him, right?" he urged. The ralts looked over, spotting their trainer as well, and nodding, tickets overflowing in his hands. "Yes. Good idea," he agreed, moving after their trainer.
PJ grinned and stood up, looking to the other two. "You guys should come too! It looks like he's gonna check out a cool looking place!" he urged, shifting his attention back to his trainer. His head quirked to the side and a quizzical look crossed his face. "Which is kind of odd..." he admitted, before bounding off after his teammate. Jay was blind, after all, wasn't he....?

PJ wasn't seeing things-- Jay really was going somewhere "interesting". A haunted house, to be specific. It wasn't so much his idea, however-- he'd let Koda and Jade out of their pokeballs,and had tiny Lee on his shoulder, who was making an occasional curious sound while looking around. Koda had immediately been awed by the place, excited, though he seemed torn on what to do, exactly-- whether he should hunt ghosts, calm down, or enjoy the place. Jay offered to go around, play games, "see the sights" (hardy har), but Jade immediately insisted they go somewhere dark, and the house seemed... the best bet, by Koda's estimate, with Jay making his usual casual, bad-humored blind jokes as he moved with them, one hand down to trace Koda's movements through a light touch, and follow along, and head in.
And immediately get met with a cardboard cut out jumping out to "greet" them, which Jay nearly ran into.

"Excellent." Reina grinned. Happy to hear that Rose wanted to go to the Corn Maze. It'd actually been some time since she'd last done one, so the premise of plushies might of been a lie. Luckily as they grew closer to the maze in question, advertisements mentioned the plushies and how they could give you big rewards with the more one found. Reina was eager actually to head in, and perhaps this eagerness transferred into her Pokeballs and summoned Nepherti from her ball. The dazzling Milotic appeared so quickly, Reina had no time to react and after a short dance around the sea serpents tail, the Egyptian finally fell forward onto the ground. Before Reina could even process what to do next, Nepherti was already nuzzling her softly with her head apologizing for what she'd just done. It was then, the Milotic's gaze lifted to their human companion. Ever the push over, Reina took the Milotic's apology and started to get back up when she noticed a small bundle of tickets nearby. She recalled they mentioned small bundles like this were scattered all around the maze in different places. Fancy she'd actually trip and win.

With a bit of thought, Arezu put her prize away for later. She needed to put more thought into what to do with it than her current surroundings would allow. Hakuren had a different opinion. "Come onnnn, when are you gonna let me have one of those tasty mushrooms?"
Arezu snorted. "Don't make it weird, Kuu." Heck, he hadn't mentioned it before, but now she could tell he was getting the idea of guilting her into it. "Besides I thought you liked your moves?" she needled him. That wouldn't be enough to distract him, so she started thinking of something else to use.
Well, they did say she could get those last prizes one more time at any of the haunted houses at the fair...
Gekkit took a moment to think about what PJ said. He really liked the idea of trying to combine moves... maybe he would see if the Azzuzuzu (hehe it was fun to say) had any tasty snacks that would help him learn neat stuff. Big sis Sheese said she'd eaten some good stuff to learn some really cool moves.
Gekkit may have said something, but Chima was happy to pipe up without thinking. [ "Stuff like this!" ] He opened his mouth and fluttered his wings, flurries of sparkles beginning to twinkle around him. He didn't get a chance to do anything, though, before PJ was getting distracted. Chima made a sad little noise when he thought they were going to leave, but brightened as soon as PJ invited them. [ "Yeah! We-" he glanced up at Shiisa, who nodded slowly, [ "We sure will!" ] Gekkit nodded. [ "I'd like to meet your trainer, I bet they're an interesting person." ]
Sham quietly got Shiisa's attention while the little ones tumbled to their feet. [ "Flurry and I are gonna keep playing games, k?" ] When Shiisa nodded he nuzzled her with affection and then bounded off to rejoin his brother. With that Shiisa padded along at the tail end of the group so she could keep an eye on everyone.
Arezu quickly decided 'hey, another haunted house will distract Hakuren for sure' and pulled him towards the entrance to another one. That thought was almost immediately followed up by the sequel 'and then he'll remember again when I get to the end and get the prize'. Dammit. Well, too late now. They had stepped inside, and might as well keep going.
"Hey...is that...Shiisa?" Hakuren squinted at the big furry butt blocking the way forward. If those distinct gold stripes didn't give it away, the sudden furious wagging of the tail would. "Sheese, your big furry butt is blocking the way!" Hakuren hollered.
Arezu wondered how many times she could slap Hakuren before it became Pokemon abuse. "Hey Shiisa. Is Niji with you guys?" The butt before them waggled in a probably 'no'. As if in response to an unmade request, Shiisa pivoted the back half of her body into a branching hallway and began backing up into.
As soon as she saw past Shiisa, Arezu groaned. There was Gekkit and Chima... and a goddamn growlithe and ralts. "I leave you guys alone for five minutes..." She trailed off, noticing that there was a human standing just in front of the pokemon. The Wispard she'd thought was Flurry was standing awfully close, and Sham was nowhere to be seen. "Oh. Are those...your pokemon?" she asked the stranger. For a second she had thought Niji had gone and adopted even more pokemon while she wasn't looking.

Jay frowned and furrowed his brow, listening to the other pokemon, and... someone shouting from behind something? The noise was muffled, and by the echoes he was getting off Lee's occasional chitter, there was a rather large pokemon in the path behind them, by the entrance. He stood up, pocketing the tickets, and moved back as he heard it moving, trying to catch some clue as to what was going on. He quirked an eyebrow as he heard a young girl's voice, and clicked his tongue to get a more solid impression of what was going on. "If yer talkin' t'me, can't tell ya, t'be honest. Wispard 'n Meleeon, growlithe 'n Ralts are, but sounds like there're some others in here, too. They yours?" he guessed. He turned his head and ducked down some as the sound of thunder rumbled, and a deep, low voice eerily commanded, "MooOOoOooOOve!" He chuckled a bit. "Guess we're holdin' things up," he remarked, moving to walk further in. Hopefully he didn't almost run into anything else...

Kenjiro slid his ingredients into the oven keep a cautious eye on his companion who was still licking and cleaning his coat. The old man took a set a timer and leaned on a counter gazing out into the crowd. "Phew, there are a lot of attractive women at this festival! Like real women, nothing like those cotton candy nurses." He glanced back to his companion who was still grooming. "I'm starting to wonder whether you're a bad listener or if you can even understand me at all." He shrugged, gazing back out to the crowd. "Well at least we're almost done with the flan."

He flipped through the recipe book that was left out for the patrons. "Butter Zubat Cookies would've been easier. And just as fun!" He paused a moment in recollection. After a moment of silence, he let out a bitter groan. "Ugh. This festival is making me too sentimental and is making me second guessing myself. I mean, all this free time it just causes my mind to." He glanced over at his companion who was playing with the timer. "MASURA DON'T MESS WITH THAT!" He leapt at his companion who dropped the timer and darted underneath a table. He scarcely missed the rat, but instead of persuing was rushing to check on his dish. "Good grief. Not burned." He shot cold daggers at his companion. "I'm not mad, but I am disappointed."
The old man set the mold to the side to cool. "Now I need to get the caramel sauce." He began to carefully mix the sauce while keeping an eye on his companion. "If you hadn't caused me to spill most of it, we could have used different molds and made different shapes." He glanced at the cooking flan. "We've only got one shot of this. We've got to be careful. I just hope it doesn't turn out too soggy.
[ "Ya think? It's called Fairy Wind! Here, I'll show you again!" ] Chima took a deep breath- [ "Chima, be sure to be careful since we're inside." -and released a flurry of sparkles and wind that sent a picture on the wall crashing to the floor. [ "Ooops." ]
Gekkit would've slapped a paw to his face, but his bamboo collar made it just difficult enough that he didn't. He was interested in exploring this place, and didn't need Chima getting them kicked out. He pushed the picture to the side, where hopefully nobody would notice it.

Arezu didn't fully get what the other trainer meant at first. She was glad to note that all of his pokemon were his, but something about what he said didn't make sense. "Uh, yeah. They were off playing games." She pointedly looked at Shiisa, who had the decency to look a bit guilty. After all, even if she was still watching them, Arezu now had no idea where Sham, Flurry, or Niji were. Hopefully if they didn't find their way back, Shiisa could sniff them out.
When Jay turned and continued on, Arezu hesitated before following. She glanced sideways at him, and now noticed the way he held his head, and his eyes. The way he'd been talking made a bit more sense; Arezu had just thought it was because she was misunderstanding his accent. "I have a feeling Chima and Gekkit have been following you for a while. Hope they didn't cause any trouble."
Gekkit quietly shoved the dropped photograph under the carpet.

Arezu kept thinking of things to say or questions to ask, then discarded them because she was pretty sure they were really insensitive. He probably got something out of a haunted house, even if he couldn't see. "Oh yeah, if you hear something really big following behind us, that's just Shiisa. She's an arcanine." She glanced down at PJ, who was really cute and she actually wouldn't have minded if he'd been a new pokemon Niji picked up. She never got to see Shiisa when she was all little like that.
They stepped out into a fancy sitting room, with a grandfather clock resting on the opposite wall. "So how-" The clock cut her off with a loud clang, the bong vibrating through the room. It drew the eye to the clock's face, which opened with a mechanical whirring, and then spat out a red envelope dangling on a red ribbon.
"Fffff-" Arezu breathed out to calm herself. "What the heck...?" Forgetting about Jay for the moment, she stepped up and plucked the envelope off the clock. She pulled out a letter, and 'hmmd' thoughtfully to herself as she read it.
"C'mon, what's it say!" Hakuren called out. He'd fallen back since they ran into Jay, and stood with Cecily waiting for her to explain. Also, oh, she might... actually be the only one here who could read it, maybe? Unless Jay's pokemon could read. Could Cecily read? Cecily could probably read.
Arezu cleared her throat. "It says that we have to find a key somewhere in this room and the next before we can move on. There's some other stuff too, I think it might be a clue? Uh, there was a letter attached to a clock in here," she added for Jay's benefit.
