September 2017 Academy: Language Arts Freshling 1. Student writes out their name with other words. 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. 4. Must be at least 100 words total 5. ??? Profit!
Username: Nasaiki Student Name: Selkie Name-Words: Supernatural eccentric levitation kinetic intelligent eclectic
Response: Selkie sighed and thought over the assignment. Language arts were always his hardest subject because things didn’t click. Did he just pick words that started with the letter? Did he pick words that described him, had meaning to him? Ah well he would attempt the assignment and if it came back wrong then he would go from there. So he decided to pick things that meant something to him. He thought of the supernatural and ghost hunting and some of the qualities people had talked to him about. He did struggle on the L part of his name but it was brief before he remembered ghosts sometimes levitated objects in a haunting. There assignment done and ready to turn in.

Username: Nasaiki Student Name: Rune Name-Words: Revenant unidentified nexus entity
Response:
Rune sighed and thought over his name. Normally he would be cheeky and put rune as the slot for the letter r because besides his name it was also an object. He never did figure out why he had such a name. However this was beside the point. Somehow he just didn’t think that would cover it and he really didn’t want to redo the assignment just because of cheek. So he wrote down what interested him using the letters of his name. he was almost sad that his name wasn’t longer so he could use more words. Then again if he had a name that was 13 letters he might manly cry. Oh well it was time to turn the assignment in.

September 2017 Academy: Language Arts Junior 1. Student picks a 'Leader' type character and defines which traits make them a leader. This must be 100 words or more. 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. This must be at least 100 words total 3. ??? Profit!
Username: Nasaiki Student Name:Oran Character Chosen:Commander Shepard from Mass effect How are they a Leader?: Well it obviously depends on how you play them whether they make a bad one or a good one but I believe that Shepard can definitely be considered a leader. They obviously care about the people under them ad they take the time to know them and earn their trust. They don’t deal with bullshit, they get straight to the matter but also know when to comprise and when to stick to their guns. They also strive to do what is right no matter what other people say or how hard it is. They also constantly think about the safety of the people under them. Then again, like I said this is if you do everything and play the paragon route. Obviously depending on how you play shepard can be not so good either.
Response: (A minimum of 100 or more words please!)Oran tapped her fingers on the table, lightly of course to make sure that she didn’t bother anyone. She couldn’t really think of any leaders right off the top of her head but then she hadn’t really watched any shows recently. However there was one game that she often played with her brother. The main character could definitely be considered a good leader given how you played them. Now how to just get all that into writing. She was never good at pulling out character traits to analyze. Symbolism and why things were good always stumped her after all. She just liked things and followed things because that’s what her heart said. Oh well time to turn in the assignment.

Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. This must be at least 100 words total 3. ??? Profit!
Username: Nasaiki Student Name:Oiche Character Chosen: Aragorn from lord of the rings How are they a Leader?: Traits of a leader and a good leader are some one that makes you want to follow them. Who instills confidence and loyalty in those under them but at the same time also takes care of those under them and doesn’t throw their opinions aside. I’ll use Aragorn from Lord of the rings as an example.
He doesn’t want leadership but he cares about his friends and he cares about innocent people caught up in the war. He gets to know those around them and is friendly and charismatic around his friends and they can’t help but to trust in them and to follow him. He listens to the advice from others and isn’t afraid to admit he does have insecurities but when it comes down to it he over comes them to save the day.
When things look grim he inspires people to do better. To make them believe that they have hope and a chance to defeat things. He knows how to best utilize his friends and people but not with out taking them into consideration as well.
Response:
While she supposed it was only a matter of time before they did an analyzing piece. She was kind of surprised it took so long, but it wasn’t really that hard. Oiche did a lot of reading. The only problem was that the characters in the books she read where working on being great leaders or they were from a show that was way too nerdy that Oiche would never admit they watched it in a thousand years. So really there was only one choice. One that she wouldn’t mind following under if she lived in that world. Writing down everything she could think of, she finished the assignment up.

September 2017 Academy: Language Arts Senior 1. Student describes their favorite or dream outfit in as much detail as possible. 100 words or more. 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. There is no word count needed for this. 3. ??? Profit!
Username: One Little Jay Student Name: Liath Dream Outfit: I have always been a fan of comfortable clothes. Nothing seems better than a fitted tee shirt. Preferably without a logo or any writing, just plain. Since I have no ability to see colors any color of course. Also a comfortable pair of jeans, or perhaps shorts. Again plain in both pattern and color. I like the simple life. I love my loafers they fit my feet well, though I think if I could have any shoes they would be a nice pair of moccasins, they are made out of the softest material and always make me feel snug. I, of course, couldn't go anywhere without my apron, since I never know when I'll need to whip up something to eat. Baking is my passion and flour on my jeans and tee shirt would just be intrusive.
Response:Liath wrinkled his nose at the assignment. He didn't really care about clothes. But since he needed this to graduate he sucked it up and made something up.

Username: Embi-lamb Student Name: Maeva Name-Words: Maple Aged Evening Versatile Angle
Response: ... what had Maeva just spelled? She wasn't entirely sure. Blinking down at the words she had written, they didn't seem to have a particular rhyme or reason to them. She had hoped to make an attempt at a sentence, but it didn't exactly pan out that way. Maeva hummed, tapping her pen against the table. At least she had completed the assignment. Maybe if she was lucky she'd have some left over time to make some pretty art for her name to spruce it up a bit.

Username: Embi-lamb Student Name: Yuna Name-Words: Yearning Under Night's Arena
Response:Yuna rolled the pen along the table as she pondered her word choices. She had almost made a sentence, which would have been nice. Peering over at Maeva's choices, at least Yuna's made more sense. Maeva's didn't even sound like a coherent sentence. Yuna stared back at her words. Stared, stared, stared. She only have four letters to worry about. Perhaps that was why she didn't need to put too much thought in to her choices. Perhaps that was why there was still so much time left at the end of the day.

Username: l Duckeh l Student Name: Teto Character Chosen: Ayame from the Kumiho Village How are they a Leader?: Ayame and the rest of the council were vigilant, loyal leaders that always sought to protect the village. Teto had always admired the council, but none more so than the adamant Ayame. He always led the village with firm decision-making and consideration for his people. Teto had always felt safe growing up under his leadership and had never considered doubting him or the council. When the time came for change, Ayame considered the safety of the Kumiho above all else and was appropriately cautious of how the outside world would impact their people. This caution was balanced with thoughts of the future, and inevitably Ayame chose to lead his people into a future connected with the world.
Response: Having been isolated from the outside world her entire life, Teto knew next-to-nothing about popular figures. Hoping it wouldn't lose her marks, the only leaders she could think of were the council elders. Teto of course admired every individual in the council, but she had always looked up to Ayame. Perhaps it was his severity and confidence - something Teto severely lacked - that held her attention. Regardless, when she heard the word 'leader', she instinctively pictured the older Kumiho. Biting her lip, Teto looked over her paper half a dozen times before deciding she was satisfied. The teacher may be displeased with her less iconic choice of individual, but she felt proud to write about her people.

Username: l Duckeh l Student Name: Xero Name-Words: Xerotic Expire Rigour Oblivion
Response: Xero was a well-read child, which was fortunate as most freshlings would no-doubt struggle to think of a word beginning with the letter x aside from 'xylophone'. There was a relatively obvious theme within his word-choices, but it was no secret that Xero was a rather macabre student. His twin had kept secret his fascination with necromancy, but his choice of reading material no doubt aroused suspicion among the faculty. Despite the questionable choice in words, Xero believed they demonstrated a high reading level, making him confident that he would do well in the class. Of course, Xero was always certain of his success.

Username: l Duckeh l Student Name: Zeerah Name-Words: Zoo Enter Exit Rowdy Any Hearty
Response: Zeerah didn't really put any thought into his assignment, simply writing down the first words that came to mind. Sure, it wasn't cohesive or impressive in any way, but it got done nice and fast. Having finished within seconds, he spent most the time looking at his twin's responses and chuckling. Xero may be a bit weird, but at least he was predictable. He almost changed one of his 'e' words to 'expire' just to mock him, but that was too much effort. Handing his work in as fast as he could, Zeerah was happy to spend the rest of the class joking around with the other freshlings.

Username: l Duckeh l Student Name: Essurio Name-Words: Elegant Sophisticated Shiny Unusual Regal Imagination Organic
Response: Essurio had a dozen words written down and crossed out before she had a response she was satisfied with. She wanted to show some of the more impressive words in her vocabulary, hoping it would please the teacher. She spent a particularly long time on the last word, not being able to think of any interesting words beginning with 'o'. She settled with a word she'd seen around all the fancy coffee shops in the city. Smiling at her work, she felt somewhat confident handing it in. Of course, she was always worried her work wouldn't be good enough, but she had worked it over too much already.

Username: xxR o z e Student Name: Elirian Name-Words: Excite - Listen - Irony - Rudimentary - Ignorant - Alien - Narwhal
Response: Upon hearing the assignment, Elirian blinked once or twice in momentary confusion. It took her another minute longer to realize what, exactly, the instructor was asking of them. Once she did, she took her quill to her paper and began writing the first words that came to mind. She had to cross out a certain someone’s name quite a few times as that was the only word that came to mind for that letter and she was pretty sure the instructor wouldn't accept it as a proper word for the assignment. With that out of her head, and boy did that take a while, she continued on with her words. She tried her best to stay serious about her work but that lasted about as long as possible for her before she trailed off into her usual quirky nature. Aliens were an interesting concept and narwhals were just cute. Or at least she thought so.

Username: Cynnybun Student Name: Elysia Name-Words: Elephant, Love, Yellow, Silly, Imp, Apple
Response: Elysia wrote out her name vertically on her paper, wracking her brain for words that not only started with the right letters, but that also described her. This was too hard! Finally, she decided to just use the first words that came to mind. That still described her, right? She may not have a big vocabulary right now, but her first thoughts would say something about her mind. She giggled as she quickly finished the assignment, even doodling a little version of herself next to the list. Why shouldn't homework be fun? She happily toddled up to the front desk and pushed her paper onto it, flashing a bright grin before skipping out of the room.

Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. This must be at least 100 words total 3. ??? Profit!
Username: Cynnybun Student Name: Tsvetan Character Chosen: Tsukino Usagi (Sailor Moon) How are they a Leader?: Usagi is a leader because she always puts her friends and loved ones first. Even if she is afraid, she pushes ahead and fights as hard as she can. She sticks up for everyone and doesn't tolerate bullies or villains, especially if they are picking on kids. Usagi also like to have fun, chat, and spend personal time with her friends and teammates, which builds morale and brings them closer together. Overall she is very positive and determined, which inspires others to believe in and follow her. A leader needs to not only be a friend, but also to direct and inspire others to be and do their best.
Response: Tsvetan pursed his lips and tapped his pencil against his desk, deep in thought. A leader? If only he could write about himself… He tried to think of recent shows he had watched, or books he had ready (which were few and far between, to be honest). TV was always more engaging to him than books. He had recently gotten into anime, starting with a classic: Sailor Moon. Their leader, Usagi, was the titular character and he could definitely write about her! At first glance she was a whiny teenager, but she truly did have the makings of a leader. She wouldn’t have been chosen as Sailor Moon otherwise! He eagerly scribbled out his response to the assignment, handing it in with a broad smile and sauntering out of the classroom.
