September 2017 Math Prompt "Today, we're going to talk about prime numbers. Let's see how high you can count using only prime numbers." Rules: Count as high as your student can using Prime Numbers! Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment. "2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97, 101, 103, 107, 109, 113, 127, 131, 137, 139, 149, 151, 157, 163, 167, 173, 179, 181, 191, 193, 197, 199 ... " that was it ... that was the extent of Yuna's grasp on prime numbers. As Yuna lifted her head, she could see Maeva staring across the room again, and once more, Yuna felt incredibly grateful that their math teacher had the same idea as their science teacher, keeping them separated. It meant Yuna could focus on her work. Always a welcome break ...

Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment.  "2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, " Treat started counting and he did a lot of the work on his paper to make sure he understood this prime number stuff well enough and didn't mess up. He wasn't all that great at math so he wanted to get this right so he didn't fail his math class that would have felt really really bad. Treat wiggles in his seat as he looked over his paper and check his work again. Once he was finished he finally decided to turn his paper in and try not to worry about it.

Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment.  2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97, 101, 103, 107, 109 Enju started doing his work on the prime number he didn't have an issue with math and he felt more confident on this than the health class with the flipping and gym stuff. He sighed and finished his paper and handed it into the teacher then he sat down to kill some time before the next class he needed to head too. He needed to find a couple of electives to finish his junior year requirements and take his life skills test.

Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment. Elysia frowned openly at the teacher when the assignment was announced. Prime numbers? She definitely did not like math to begin with, and now prime numbers?! What did she even need this for? The imp heaved a heavy sigh and started scrawling on her paper, just wanted to get it over with. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7... 11, 13, 17... 23...29...31... She stopped, letting her pencil drop to her desk. Surely this would be enough, she was only a freshling, after all! She toddled to the front and handed in her assignment, her frown turned to more of a pout as the worry of not passing set in. Why hadn't she tried harder?

Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment. Prime numbers. Tsvetan let out a soft sigh as he started to write. Math itself wasn't hard, and especially not prime numbers, but he didn't see the point. It wasn't really relevant to his interests, other than knowing you couldn't split them in half easily. But he needed to pass this class. 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97... He figured stopping around 100 was good enough, that was plenty of evidence to prove he grasped the concept. The dryad gathered his things and pulled his braid over his shoulder, sliding his paper onto the teacher's desk and heading out the door. One exam done, six more to go.

Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment. Fredrich had this. After all, his mom was a science teacher and math and science went hand-in-hand. "2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97, 101, 103, 107, 109, 113, 127, 131, 137, 139, 149, 151, 157, 163, 167, 173, 179, 181, 191, 193, 197, 199 ... !" he could have kept going, but the boy didn't want to seem overeager or like a know-it-all. So, he faked his knowledge, "Well, I guess that's as high as I can go!" Fredrich lied through his teeth, popping a lollipop in to his mouth with a hum. He loved the way this batch of goods he made crinkled and popped in his mouth. It was sooo satisfying!

" Jango trailed off, glancing to their friend Fredrich who was sucking on a lollipop. Jango shifted in his seat as he watched him, seeking his approval. Freddie had managed to count much higher, but Jango felt he did pretty good considering he wasn't a numbers person. When Fredrich flashed a grin at Jango, he felt the butterflies in his stomach flutter eagerly. Yes, he had done a good.

Rules: Count as high as your student can using Prime Numbers! Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment. Kean wasn’t sure if he could do this. After all, he had just barely learned about numbers after 100, but all of these… prime numbers?! That involved stuff like multiplication and dividing, and he had barely gotten through those! Math was such a hard class to concentrate in, numbers were just so boring! He would rather be out there trying to make things that having his head filled with stuff like… numbers and letters acting like numbers. He gulped a little, before he started to squeak out as many numbers as he could. “2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19…” Here was the hard part. It was easy to remember the numbers if they were solo or if they had a one in front of the, but a 2?! He would have to be doing some math in his head and going over each individual number for that! He took a few seconds to think in-between each number. “23… 29… 31… 37… 41… 43, 47… 53… 59, 61, 60…7, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97… and 101!” Or at least that’s all he could count for right now. Any higher than that would be a bit too much for now! Besides, he had just started to draw a circle and was a bit too interested in it to remember he had to count some more.

November 2017 Math Prompt "Today, I'd like you to tell me what your favorite number is and why." Rules: Tell me what your student's favorite number is! Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment. Elirian blinked slowly, her head cocking to the left as the instructor announced their assignment. Favourite number? The doll didn't really have a favourite number. She wasn’t really one for numbers so she never really gave it any thought. As freshling after freshling stood and spoke their piece, she chewed her lip. She couldn't just stand up and say ‘I don't have one’ because then she'd probably fail and that just wouldn't do! She was so deep in thought that she didn't hear her name being called until someone beside her tapped her shoulder. “OH!” As if she'd been electrocuted, Eli shot from her seat. “I uhm… I don't really have a favourite number. But if I had to pick one… maybe two? Because everything is better in pairs, right? Like… Earrings and socks and ice cream cones. So you can share.”

(1) Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment.  Billie gave a slight annoyed sound having been called to answer. They didn’t want to and it just seemed sort of dumb to have a favorite number. Because why would anyone need a favorite number? The bakeneko, shoved their hair out of their eye, looking up at the professor. “I guess one? Cause Me, Myself, and I,” They snarked slightly and gave a shrug and let their long hair fall back to hide their face. This was stupid and they wanted to move on to like actual class work. Could they? They didn’t care about people’s favorite numbers at all. Billie hunched over their desk, scooting their hair back enough so they could doodle freely.

Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment.  Georgette grins and raises his hand to give his answer. “I like 4! Because that’s how many ears I have. I can hear really far away with them, and that’s really neat. I like hearing things from far away.” He looked down at his desktop after answering and started slowly kicking his desk with his right hoof. Now that he’d given his answer his impatience had kicked in, he wanted to move on to the next assignment before he got bored. He hated being bored. He peaked up at the teacher, then started scratching his nails against the desktop as he waited.

November 2017 Math Prompt "Today, I'd like you to tell me what your favorite number is and why." Rules: Tell me what your student's favorite number is! Post a small RP response in thread with how your student felt about the assignment.  Habushu stares at the assignment written on the board and sighed. How was he supposed to know that? He didn’t like math in the first place so why would he have a favorite number? Habushu’s tail started twitching as he thought about his answer. “I like 5. Because...no..um. I like 8! The way it looks is interesting. It looks like an infinity symbol. I’ve seen them in one of my books. It means forever.” Habushu sighed again. Hopefully that was an alright answer. He was still unsure about it and it was making him nervous. He nibbled on his lip as his tail started twitching even faster. He couldn’t wait to get out of this class.
