The walk over to the scroll section was a quick one and stopping in front of a bookshelf filled with scrolls of various kinds and sizes, Shizuna easily picked out two small blank scrolls and a storage scroll. 'Hm...two scrolls for the vest, that leaves two for drawing utensils. Problem with a brush is that it requires ink...then again; why not just use water...' Moving onto the next section which contained writing utensils, Shizuna decided to go back for paintbrushes and ink after she took a look at her other options. 'Hm...I don't normally go for fountain pens but that may be a good idea. They contain ink inside and it will definitely be more durable than lead pencil. Only worry is that the ink gets clogged...I should be able to unclog it with chakra though...after all its ink.' Conflicted to stick to what she knows or try another method of utilizing her bloodline/sealing abilities, Shizuna opted to give it a go. Its not like it would affect her performance too much. 'The main difficulty here is fitting it into my already routine fighting style.'

Scrolls and vest pressed closely to her chest, Shizuna mentally scolded herself for not having considered a basket when she first entered. It was a bit too late into her shopping to get one so Shizuna picked up her pace. She was use to balancing a lot of things when painting so this wasn't too difficult a task but Shizuna rather not put out too much effort when it wasn't necessary; like now. Heading back towards the ink and brushes, Shizuna picked out two well crafted ones and gripped them in her right hand along with the fountain pen. As to the ink vials, Shizuna rather not break them so she reluctantly made her way over to the counter to drop off the stuff in her arms first before heading back for the remaining items on her list.

"Shopping List:
• Ninja Vest
• Blank Scroll x2
• Storage Scroll x1

• Ink Vial x5
• Drawing Utensils (paintbrush) x2
• Sealing Paper x5"

Stepping out into the main hallway of the store, Shizuna spotted someone else already at the counter and he was speaking to a familiar face. 'Two times in one day, must be a new record.' Seeing nothing to be shy about, Shizuna approached the two and gave both Kensei and Nagisa a small bow before proceeding to put her items onto the counter next to Kensei's which the cashier had already rung up and set off to the side for him.

Raising her left hand up in stop when the cashier got ready to ring up her items, Shizuna swiftly picked up her sketchpad and flipped it open to a page with her pre-written messages. Pointing to one of the lines, Shizuna would give the man a moment to read it - "Still shopping. Would just like to leave these here for now."

Kensei sighed with disappointment before turning to the counter. "Fine I guess. Thanks anyway." Kensei said as he started to put on his flak jacket and sheathed his new trench knives on the back of his waist. He turned back around and saw the girl from earlier bowing. He looked at Nagisa with a confused expression before trying to say anything. There was a good chance Nagisa knew her. "Uh....hi?" He saw her show the cashier a note which further confused Kensei. "Huh?" he turned his head quickly to Nagisa hoping she could explain.

Nagisa nodded in understanding. Part of her was curious whether it would work, all the parts were there, but risking her friend and ally would be silly. Kensei perhaps was not the most skilled shinobi quite yet, but she believed him among the most faithful. She smiled at Miyake, and greeted her gently, watching as she made her way back to collect her remaining purchases. She had a certain amount of stubbornness in her, for there were baskets beside the counter which would have saved her some trouble. It was very convenient to find her here, but first there was Kensei to attend to. "We shall finally be solidifying our treaty with Kirigakure very soon I expect. In order to protect the village you probably won't get missions outside of the village until the Kage returns. You had two long missions in a row, perhaps some simpler missions and training will do you well." She smiled and bowed her head politely. "Perhaps we can have lunch sometime when things calm down some. It seems there is so little time for friends these days."
PostPosted: Fri Feb 08, 2013 7:54 am

"I guess you're right. Good luck with treaty then. I wish I could come, but I guess somebody has to stay behind. I actually wanted to head back to Sunagakure and try to help out around there. It can wait until you guys get back." he sighed as he placed the string of his hoodie inside of his mouth. He let out a smile when she commented about little time for friends. "yeah you're right. I miss the good old days before...all of this." he wanted to reminisce a little more but he had things to do. "Hey I'm gonna head to the library and probably rent some taijutsu scrolls. The fight against Jishaku made me realize how much I'm slacking in my specialty." he laughed a bit before walking outside the store. He turned back and looked inside the store and waved to Nagisa before blending in with the crowd.

Nagisa waved goodbye to Kensei, and moved back into the store to find Shizuna. When she found her near the Ink vials she spoke up. "I believe it will be the two of us escorting the Raikage to Shimogakure. I don't imagine we will need it, but you should prepare in case we are needed in her defense." A little part of Nagisa laughed inside as she realized it would be three women meeting Luo. "I hope those of the hidden mist aren't sexist." She smiled a little as she grabbed one of the vials and looked at it. They had a lot more variations in ink than one would expect of a general supply store, not that Nagisa was much of an artist. She had not yet worked with Shizune before, hopefully she lived up to her reputation.

With the cashier's understanding of her incomplete purchase, Shizuna let her notepad drop back to her side while she turned to collect the remaining goods. As she did, Shizuna would notice Nagisa smile a small greeting at her. In response, Shizuna would flash her a small smile of her own as she passed her and her acquaintance on her way to the inks. Taking her time to examine them, Shizuna would stick to the basic black. Picking up particular vials one by one, Shizuna would give each a small shake and would also hold them to the light. She had no reason to doubt the quality of the inks sold at this store but whenever something involved art, Shizuna had a habit of examining everything thoroughly.

No sooner had Shizuna finished selecting her fourth's ink vial did Nagisa approach her and mention something about an escort mission. And from the sounds of it, a very important escort mission as well. 'Escort the Raikage to Shimo? This is the first I've heard of my participant in such a thing...and to be paired with the famed Abarame Nagisa as well...' Face passive, Shizuna revealed nothing of her conflicted inner thoughts/emotions in regards to the news Nagisa just told her. Instead, Shizuna merely nodded in response while picking up another vial of ink. At Nagisa's comment about how she hoped those of the hidden mist aren't sexist, a small smirk would appear on Shizuna's face while inside, she pieced together the necessary mission details. 'Kiri eh? I believe I've caught wind about a possible treaty with Kiri. Guess it's most likely in regards to Shimogakure which is located between our two nations. A very strategic spot for either village...'

Setting the vial aside, Shizuna would pick up her sketchpad and hastily write out a message for Nagisa. After all, Shizuna had only so far responded with a small nod and smirk to Nagisa's comments and it was only proper manners that she address her future teammate and senior with an actual response. Done, Shizuna would first offer Nagisa a low bow before straightening up and showing Nagisa her message. - "It'll be an honor to work with you on such an important mission Aburame-san. Please take care of me."

((I'll let you know once we have figured something out.))
Nagisa placed an amber colored ink vial back on the shelf as Shizuna responded. "The honor would be all mine I assure you, normally I would suggest we take time to discuss tactics but there will be plenty time for that once we get to Shimo, since it will take the mist a while to arrive- would you like me to give you a hand with those?" She clearly meant the ink vials, for she wasn't sure how many Shizuna intended to grab. From what Nagisa knew of the girl, she used inks for jutsu as well as drawing and notes, so it was easy to guess she might grab several vials. Perhaps a proper look at her file would be wise, but at least she had a good reputation among the higher ranking villagers. A loud ring chimed through the shop, betraying a young shoplifter, who the shopkeeper promptly chased into the street. Nagisa raised an eyebrow, she knew they were having trouble with pickpockets lately, but shoplifting from a ninja supply store in front of two shinobi? It seemed the population growth was bringing some problems, which would need to be addressed soon. "That old man's a good sprinter, poor kid won't know what hit him."

Enter from Kumogakure Apartments

Sora pranced into the main hub of Kumo's activity, energized as always and greeting everyone she recognized, which made up quite a number. She wasn't too certain of what she was doing here, but she figured that before any training, she should try and stock up. Heck, she didn't know what to train in the first place. Perhaps she'll think of something while skipping past the various shops.

That was, of course, assuming she didn't find something more interesting. The more interesting thing was found quite easily. In fact, it basically found her. Right in front of Sora, a young boy was tackled firmly into the ground by a much older man, who she recognized as the shop owner of a shinobi supply store. The young girl skidded to a stop as the shop owner picked the boy up by his ear and gave him the usual earful. Somewhat dumbfounded, Sora simply stared, until she decided to look in the direction that the shop owner came from just because.

Through the mingling crowd, the girl recognized a familiar face. Her eyes lit up first and then the rest of her face as she verified the image. The short legs of the child quickly started and charged the body of the small blonde over to her older friend. Already, Sora's body had just about ingrained itself with the slower speed of usual genin, so even in this moment of gleeful excitement, she did not seem faster than any of her peers. Although, her clumsiness remained a fault she could not fix even at average speeds. In the middle of her greeting shout, "Nagi-" Sora tripped and fell onto someone, requiring a hasty and apologetic, "I'm sorry. Sorry. Sorry," accompanied by quite a bit of bowing as she helped the poor victim up. After worriedly watching the person she had tripped into, a kind man that assured the blonde that everything was alright, Sora continued her way to Nagisa. This time, limiting herself to a trot until she was right next to the woman, at which point Nagisa got a nice big glomp and the delayed but still cheery, "Nagisa!".

((Have to say you certainly know how to make an entrance. Unfortunately due to... unforseen consequences, the mission I promised you has been delayed a bit. Though since Shimo is delayed too we can do a quick D rank together.))

Nagisa smiled and bowed her head toward Shizuna "See you", however she barely got turned around before she heard Sora's tiny voice making it's first attempt at calling her name. Nagisa looked in time to see Sora sputtering her apologies at a man somewhere in his 40s. This gave her plenty of time to brace herself for her inevitable, signature greeting. "Well hello!" Nagisa knew it would be silly to ask what her rush was, the girl seemed to have difficulty standing still, so instead she asked "What are you up to at a time like this huh? You better not be stealing candy again." Clearly this was just teasing, for Sora was unlikely to steal anything unless absolutely necessary. Although sometimes Nagisa had to wonder how she could afford to feed her particular habit. If The girl wasn't so active, she'd be more than a little heavy, though of course Nagisa would never say so.

(OOC: Why, thank you whee . Making entrances comes with the clumsy character persona 3nodding .
As for the D-rank mission, sure if that's convenient. I'd actually sort of forgotten that you said there was a mission for Sora sweatdrop .)

"Nope nope! I'm here because I don't know what else to do," came the cheery response as Sora shook her head. She answered in all seriousness even as she smiled, "Besides, ever since I've been able to climb up to the top shelf of the pantry, Mom's locked the candy stash in her and Dad's house, so now I have to buy my own or wait for Mom to give me the healthy amount. Sometimes, though, Dad is nice and gives me extra without Mom knowing. Ah, but don't tell Mom, even though I think she already knows." She pouted slightly at one point of her impromptu story to emphasize her disappointment at the locking of the candy stash, but her smile bounced back up before she had even finished speaking. During the course of her reply, Sora had released Nagisa from her small hands and begun rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet, hands gripping each other behind her back. Her bright blue eyes looked up at Nagisa, almost sparkling with anticipation to hear what Nagisa had been up to... or to hear anything Nagisa had to say, really. Sora was easy to please, and friends like Nagisa would find it especially easy.

((I Lied by the way, and found a better idea.))
Nagisa nodded patiently as Sora explained her parent's stash, which like most of Sora's stories held a lot of information without spoiling any secrets, of which she had a few. None of her peers would likely have noticed, but the way her "running" tended to look more like a fast walking pace showed she was capable of far more. However after a thought surfaced in the Jounin's mind her mouth curled into a frown. Sora wasn't supposed to be here, nor should she have been quite so... giddy. For there was one thing Nagisa had seen capable of ending the girl's constant glee. "You haven't met with the Raikage have you." It was a statement rather than a question. Her tone, which hadn't been especially cheerful the whole conversation, got dark and sorrowful. "Go. Now. You can't be wasting time in the market." She let a sense of urgency slip into her voice. Sora wouldn't know yet to ask why Nagisa was not helping, and with luck when she did get a chance to wonder the girl would assume Nagisa's hands were somehow tied or busy with more urgent matters.

Shikaku

~

Shikaku happily whistled his way down the street. He'd just finished his breakfast at a nice little place that, to his unending joy, had seated him and furnished him with a meal and no mention of payment at the sight of his shinobi marker. It was no Golden Clam, but the food was good, and honestly the atmosphere was better without all the stuffy richlings about. Now though? Now he was on the hunt. Convenient as it was, he couldn't eat out for every meal, so he needed to get some goods to stock his kitchen. And considering that this was the boy who had pulled his day's outfit from the local dumpster rather than visit a clothing store, he was window shopping, eye out for sales, or, should that fail, the lowest prices on anything he might want. Never having actually done any food shopping, or in fact, cooking, before though, he wasn't sure what to get. No matter, instant meals were both affordable, and easy! No skill required.

Soon enough he was loaded down with bags of instant meals. Ramen, simple and tasty, no matter what he told the strange boy yesterday, instant rice, several varieties of sauces, some of which he didn't even recognize the names of that he figured he'd try with the rice, because why not, and hamburgers. Hamburgers weren't exactly instant, but they couldn't be that difficult to make, right? And he was a growing boy. He needed plenty of meat in his diet. Plenty of meat, and no vegetables. Vegetables were for cowardly girly men. He chuckled to himself as that rather exaggerated thought passed through his mind. He actually didn't mind most vegetables. They were just on his list of things he wasn't sure how to cook, and most were nasty raw.

Ignoring the odd looks he got for his giggle fit in the middle of the street, Shikaku continued on, turning his course back towards home. Any more luggage and he'd have a hard time carrying it, and he didn't want to spend money on storage scrolls just for his groceries. Still though, he plotted his course down a street he hadn't taken yet, just in case he spotted something... Something...

Turning in place, Shikaku stared into the window of a shop he'd been passing. There in the window sat something... Something he almost recognized. A classic crossbow, like he'd seen some civilian militia using in the past, or children playing with miniature versions that fired foam darts or sticks. But this, was different. The groove, normally about half an inch wide, looked large enough to hold... A kunai? Moving a bit closer, he examined it further. Yes, the groove was definitely large enough for a kunai. In fact, it looked like there was a sliding section that would hold a kunai in place for the entire trip, since obviously kunai weren't notched for use with a bow... As if to confirm it for himself, the boy looked down, finding a display plaque with "MK I Steady Shot Weapon Propulsion Device" crossed out and "Kunai Launcher" scrawled below it

Intrigued, and with his mind already filtering through ideas on how he could use such a thing if it were at all like he imagined, Shikaku changed course, heading inside of the shop, and making his way to the inside display that held the unusual weapons. Setting his bags down, he plucked one of the crossbows from the rack, turning it over in his hands as he examined it. The shaft had several slots along it, obviously designed to hold the draw bar. Each seemed to have a letter etched beside it too. E, D, C... Were these strength ratings? Deciding to give it a try, Shikaku grasped the draw bar, pulling hard to draw back the line. There was no way this was a civilian, or even militia level weapon with the amount of resistance it gave. He gave up after getting the bar back to the D notch. He felt like he could probably get to C, but beyond that? No way.

Carefully resetting the weapon, he turned it over a couple more times, grinning slightly as more ideas filtered through his mind. The thing even had catches on the arms so it could fold in on itself! Checking the price, he smiled and nodded. He could actually afford it on what he had left from that pickpocket mission yesterday. So, taking that and, on second thought, two twenty foot rolls of ninja wire, he approached the corner, checking out. Making sure he had everything on him, groceries in hand, plus the wire simply tossed into the same bags, new weapon hung over his shoulder by the bow arm, and anything else he'd picked up along the way, he left the shop, continuing his trek through town, now determined to reach home as quickly as possible to ditch the stuff. He still had his purchases from yesterday to test out, and now this weapon too. He'd have to find a quiet, private, training area and have some fun. Then maybe a mission, if there was time left in the day. It was still early after all.

The boy smiled happily, skipping cheerily down the street and whistling to himself, glaring at anyone who looked at him funny just for fun. He may have planned to head straight home, but there was always time for extra fun.

Edit: [Exit to Apartments](Can't think of anything further here, and don't feel like making a crappy post.)

The boy was too caught up in his shopping to notice when a shinobi messenger slipped a small note in his bags shortly after check out. He may have had experience with civilian level pickpocketing, but messengers of Kumo were trained specifically for discreet delivery when the quick eyes of shinobi were watching. Once the boy did find the neatly folded note, it would read quite simply:
Quote:
Report to the Raikage for a mission. Urgent.

It was clear to the messenger the boy was finished shopping, for rather than continue to survey the vendors and windows he began to move purposely away from the main shopping area. With the large amount of groceries he was carrying he could only be going back to his Apartment, so there was some reasonable assurance the note would be read quickly enough.

Sora's head cocked quizzically to the side at Nagisa's sudden change in tone. Her smile grew smaller but didn't completely disappear as she shook her head at the question that was more of a statement than a question. "Ehhh?... But...," Sora started before shutting herself up, smile completely replaced by a curious expression. Nagisa's tone wasn't something to mess with, and it sounded like she had done something wrong. At this point, it was best to not magnify her problems. She pouted for a moment as she nodded an affirmative, "Alright," before twirling around and skipping through the crowd towards her new destination.

the girl thought with worry. After all, Nagisa's tone had made it sound like something she should have known... and it sort of felt like she might have disappointed her friend somehow. Sora didn't like disappointing her friend. Any of the suspicions Nagisa had feared were not present in the girl's mind. She trusted her friend too much.

Some artists paint or sing of peace...I?

Smiling at Nagisa's modesty, Shizuna would allow her sketchpad to fall back to is usual place by her side as Nagisa spoke. Nodding her head in agreement as to pre-mission briefing/planning being postponed till their group reaches Shimo, Shizuna made a mental note to search her being and home for the mission slip she clearly overlooked. 'The trip to Shimo itself is also not too far so I can see how tactics can be delayed. A bit bold but I'm sure the standard guarding positions can work till we reach Shimo.' When offered a helping hand from Nagisa, Shizuna kindly shock her head no as she rather not bother her senior with such a trivial matter, that and Shizuna may be a tad bit skeptic with other people handling her art equipment.

Just than a loud ring chimed throughout the shop and Shizuna couldn't resist a small wince. Eyes instinctively scanning the shop for danger, spotting a shoplifter making his escape followed closely by the shopkeeper. 'He's not going to last long, the shopkeeper here's got good speed. Bold of him for trying to steal from a shinobi shop. Stupid as well.' Shizuna's sentiments would be felt by Nagisa too as she commented almost immediately about how the old shopkeeper was a good sprinter and how the kid was in for a surprise. 'Exactly.'

Trusting the shopkeeper to have the situation handled, Shizuna would return momentarily to her conversation with Nagisa which appears to be over as the senior Jounin offered her parting greetings. Returning the gesture of a smile and bow, Shizuna than averted her attention back to her vials. Though her mind was alert and picking out any possible flaws with the vials at hand, her mind was on another matter, the mission. 'That was fast but I'm thankful for that. I don't know too much about the mission and should this conversation carry on too long, I may blunder up somewhere. Aburame-san is no Jounin to mess with. She's got a reputation as a "Master of the Minds" meaning lying/bluffs won't easily fly by her...but where could I have missed it...'

Saving that thought for later, Shizuna picked up the five vials carefully and made her way over back to the counter to drop them off but not before telling/writing to the cashier to not touch them. Swiftly heading back over to where she knew the sealing paper were located, Shizuna expertly picked out five and headed back to the counter to complete her purchase. When asked if she was good to go, Shizuna would quickly flash another premade message - "That's all for now. Thanks." Once ringed up, Shizuna would pay for her purchases before taking a few extra moments to slip her new vials into her vial pouch. As to everything else, Shizuna was comfortable carrying them in a brown paper bag. 'I shall sort and prep all of them once I get home.' Exiting the shop, Shizuna took off once more for the rooftops towards the shinobi apartments.
