This is where most of the villagers do their shopping, the Village center covers the strip of road from the village gates to the Raikage's tower. Almost anything can be bought here, within reason.

Laxus walked into the shopping district of the village. Not so much a district as a line of nothing but shops, truly a bad choice as it lead directly from the gates to the Raikage tower. Nothing is better for an invasion than a large group of civilians that can be taken hostage, or killed outright, crippling the village for decades to come. ' If I ever become Raikage, I'll have to change this. ' Laxus thought to himself, finding himself standing directly in the middle of the shopping district. " Hmmm... Ramen shop... Ramen shop... " Laxus said, looking around, his face back to that of an aspiring youth. " Let's see here... " He said, coming to three ramen shops right next to each other. " Oh well, ramen is ramen. He should have been more specific. " Laxus said, walking into the store.

Laxus looked around, taking notice of the insignias painted on the wall, the bar, as well as the stools at the bar. Each had the kanji for lightning, Rai, inscribed on them and filled with a separate wood than the stools themselves were made out of. He also noticed that the man who was making the ramen was a behemoth of a man, twirling two lumps of dough into noodles. The man twirled two at once, then used one hand per lump to pound it slightly, then picking both up in one hand, tossed the other end of each to the other hand, catching them in the fingers opposite the two that were already busy. This technique astonished Laxus. The man was obviously a master of his art, he twirled two lumps of dough at once, as well as not tangling them. From the look on the customer's faces, apparently the small thin woman who Laxus had just noticed behind the man was an amazing cook at seasoning the broth, as well as the pork, and anything else that came with the order. She had wild eyes, and the fastest hands Laxus had ever seen. Her hands were quick and nibmle, switching between spatula and knife in the blink of an eye. She even switched to the ladle to taste the broth, and then in the next instant she had reseasoned it, and tasted it again. The man from before looked up at Laxus, and sighed, cutting the two giant wads of noodles, using two noodle ladles in both hands dipped them into the boiling water to cook. " Hey you! What can I get for you? " The man's voice was loud, booming and gruff, yet it had a kindness that made it so that no one in the entire resturaunt jumped even though people across the street could have heard it.
" I need an order of Ramen for Bakaschnitzel. " Laxus said, walking up to the counter. Laxus hadn't noticed, but the back of the shop was raised about four feet above the roof on the rest of the shop. And with good reason, as the man was easily a foot taller than the regular ceiling. Laxus's eyes widened only momentairly as he realised that the man was five times his own size atleast. The reason the woman looked small was because everything back there was that man's size!
" Bakaschnitzel eh? The old Oaf. He shouldn't be sending children to do his errands. " The man said, taking a bowl down from the shelf. " Baby, Bakaschnitzel. " He said, turning to the woman. " Ugh, that idiot. " The woman said, putting some noodles that she had taken from the boilers and set in the broth for about a minute, the entire time that Laxus had been talking to what Laxus assumed was her husband. The woman then ladled in some more broth, then fast as... No, faster than lightning an egg was hardboiled, chopped, added to the ramen, then a side of pork was cut up into small circles, a side of beef was cut into strips, thick strips, and a fish was flayed, the flay mashed, and a patty made from it all added to the bowl. " Secret ramen style: Super Heat Flame. " The woman said, inhaling and exhaling flames directly onto the ramen. The pork and beef charred perfectly, making a sweet and tangy scent waft through the entire shop, as well as out into the street, a flood of customers walking in. The man sighed and put the bowl into a carrier. " The ramen won't cool down for about twenty minutes, but no matter how fast you get the ramen to him he'll tell you it is cold. " The man said sighing as he looked at the customers. " The idiot knows that making that brings in too many customers to handle... " He said, sliding a small bowl of ramen to Laxus. " Eat it now, you won't get a chance later. " He said smiling at Laxus. " Tell Baka-sensei that he needs to retire already. " The man said laughing.
Laxus nodded, putting the money on the table and eating his ramen quickly. Laxus picked up the carrier and smiled at the man and woman waving goodbye. " I'll be back some day, and I won't be getting Bakaschnitzel's food for him. " He said laughing. Laxus left the shop and turned back to head to the training grounds.

Laxus walked around, sighing to himself. He looked down trodden, his shirt was stained, he was looking for the most notoriously annoying animal in Kumogakure, possibly in the entire Lightning country. " Does Bakaschnitzel count as an animal? If so, he takes the prize. " Laxus thought to himself laughing slightly at the thought. " Oh well, I shouldn't be too hard on the old man, he did teach me some good techniques. " Laxus said putting his hands behind his head. Suddenly a yapping noise was coming from the distance. Laxus took off after the sound, and turning a corner found a small child making an exceptional yapping noise much to the displeasure of it's parent.
" Son, please stop. " The parent said, sighing and shaking her head.
" But momma, I saw a tiny doggy runing that way! I wanted to pet it, but it ran too fast. I'm trying to tell it to come back. " The boy said, tears in his eyes as he began to yap again.
" You're not an Inuzuka kid, you can't speak to animals. " Laxus said, his information on the clan again based completely off of a non member's stories. The Mother gave an evil glare to Laxus, while the child's eyes just seemed to tear up even more. Then it hit Laxus, there was also a large female wolf standing laying next to them, and a young puppy sickling. These people were Inuzukas. How did Laxus not realise from the human mother's teeth! They looked almost exactly like a wolf's fangs. Laxus quickly said sorry and acked away, running around the two and in the direction the young boy had pointed.

Laxus ran through the streets, nearing the Residential district, but still remaining in the Shopping district. " This is getting me no where, I need some more help. " Laxus said sighing, making several handsigns. " Bunshin no jutsu. " Laxus said, making a second bushin. " Ok, you go this way, I go that way. " Laxus said, running past the bushin looking down every street.
" I know, I know. " The bushin said, running away, looking down every street. The Bushin was the one to find the dog. " Found it! It's heading into the residential area! " It said, turning a corner.
" Gotcha! " Laxus said, turning sharply to go into the residential district.

Laxus stretched and sighed looking around the shopping district. He smiled as he felt his bag filled with coin and a wad of paper money. " Not enough for a lot, but I'll make due with living off the land. " Laxus said sighing. He'd had to live off the land for the two years his sensei had trained him. Old man hadn't even given him any wire or string to make his traps. " Heh, I miss you sensei. " Laxus said, crossing his heart. It was something his sensei had done when he talked about his sensei before him. Laxus expected it was a sign of respect or something, sensei never did explain it. Laxus looked around a bit, wishing that there was something to do, but knowing that there was in fact nothing. He was yet to become part of a squad, and from what he saw, there weren't that many shinobi to go around, Laxus might be the only genin in his squad, or he might break up an existing squad. Laxus would have rather done everything himself, that way he rakes in all the cash for completion instead of sharing it. Sooner or later he'd get enough money to buy an estate, and then go out and buy his parent's farm back. Once he did that, he'd govern the farm from afar, he would never set foot on that land again. " Oh well. " Laxus said reaching up and then resting his hands behind his head. Laxus continued browsing for a while longer, taking in all of the knick knacks and doo-dads. Laxus smiled and greeted a few children who were playing and bumped into him, cautioning them and telling them politely to watch where they were going. He smiled and patted them all on the head waving as they ran off laughing and giggling.

Kensei walked around and noticed that he got here before sora. he stood by the entrance and waited for her. Well at least he tried, instead some ninja vests caught his eye. He knew he would need this if he was going to master taijutsu. "its even got the pouches." He said outloud as he pressed his face against the glass. Helooked in his wallet and saw that he had more than enough money for it. "Maybe I should wait until Sora gets here and get her opinion." He said with his face and hands still pressed against the glass.

Laxus turned slowly, seeing the boy from earlier. They had probably mentioned his name, but Laxus hadn't been paying attention. He'd have to start doing more of that. Laxus sighed and turned curtly on his heel, walking briskly to Kensei. " Laxus Makarov, pleasure to meet you. " He said, a smile spreading across his face. Laxus honestly did take it as a pleasant surprise to meet Kensei, but he wasn't pleased that this shinobi would possibly stand in his way to his plans for Kumogakure. " So what is your name? " Laxus asked, wanting to seem pleasant, and interested in Kensei's life. In truth, Laxus couldn't care less. He only cared if Kensei would stand in his way, or cover his back. Laxus only cared about a very few select people, and Kensei had yet to prove himself as valuable enough for Laxus to care about him. It wasn't anything against Kensei, just that Laxus didn't think about it that much. Laxus wanted cold facts right now. He had just entered the village not too long ago, maybe a month ago when his sensei died. Laxus sighed, looking around noticing a couple of nick-knacks on the ground on mats with a hawker sitting there peddling their wares.

In fact the more Laxus was talking the more he got annoyed. By the time Kensei snapped out of it he finally noticed Laxus standing next to him. "Who the hell are you and why should I give a damn?" He asked crossing his arms. Kensei honestly wasn't paying attention and was confused as to why Laxus was standing next to him. Plus new faces made him nervous. Dislike... cold hard dislike came over Laxus as Kensei seemed to snap at him. ' I'd love to wring your neck until it popped... ' Laxus thought to himself, his face shifting from happy to slightly angry. In truth he was beyond rage filled, but he had learned to control his temper from his dead sensei. He had to, otherwise he would have killed the first villager that rubbed him the wrong way. So far, Kensei was the only person to do so, even Baka hadn't made Laxus this angry. " I said my name was Laxus Makarov, and I said it was a pleasure to meet you. I'm not so sure anymore. " Laxus said, his eyes revealing that he'd love nothing more than to put his fist through Kensei's throat, but only for a moment. Laxus nearly instantly retained himself and let out a smile. " I'm sorry. I also asked what your name was. I noticed earlier that you were training with Baka-sensei. " Laxus said laughing lightly, his body language now giving off nothing but happiness and gumdrops. " I hadn't noticed that you were admiring that flak jacket. It looks amazing. " Laxus said, looking at the flak jacket. " It's even got pockets. " He said laughing lightly as if he was conversing with a friend.

Sora entered the village center. Albeit, at a different location than Kensei, which explained why she took so long to meet up with him. Rather than simply going through the main entrance, the girl had gone through a few side alleys so as to reach some of the shop owners sooner. Why did she want to reach these particular civilians earlier? It was because Sora knew them as well enough to ask if they had met anyone that looked sort of like Nagisa. All of them had answered no. Without any further leads, Sora decided to walk to the main entrance where she guessed that Kensei was, hoping she hadn't made him wait too long,
The girl turned to exit the shop... only to find Kensei's face and hands comically pressed up against the window. Sora couldn't help but buckle over in laughter. It was reasonable for Kensei to have not noticed her even with his level of skill. Not only was he staring intently at the jacket, but Sora was behind the store counter so only her head was visible even when she was standing. As the door was closed, it was also reasonable to assume that her laughter wouldn't be heard.
That gave enough time for Laxus and Kensei to have their little exchange as Sora recovered herself. "Sorry, mister," the girl addressed the store owner familiarly as she stood back up with the help of the counter, "It's just my friend was making a funny face outside. Well, once more, thank you!". The last two sentences were said with a wide smile as Sora turned and resumed walking out of the shop.
Sora stuck her smiling head out of the shop just in time to get a clear view of Kensei's sour expression. Well, at least the profile it. Likewise, Sora could see the profile of Laxus's face. The other blonde's expression changed as she watched, from slightly angry to happy. At the sight of these expressions, Sora's smile twisted into a expression of curiosity. This face remained as she stepped completely through the door and trotted up to besides Kensei. "Why so serious?" Sora asked as she stopped besides Kensei and looked up at him with the questioning expression. In her peripheral vision, she could still see Laxus's reactions.

A shake of her head was Sora's answer. Although, she doubted that it could be noticed consider her head was already being shaken by Kensei's hand. Thus, she explained, "I asked some shopkeepers I know but none of them remember seeing anyone like Nagisa recently." She was glad to see the Kensei's expression had changed for the better.
After explaining to Kensei, Sora turned to the person she now knew as Lazlo and greeted with a cheery wave, "Hello Lazlo, I'm Sora Hikari." As was somewhat customary of her, Sora dug around in her bag a bit and brought out a fistful of various sweets. "Want one?" the girl asked amiably, "You should have one, too, Kensei."
