Squire Pendour
HP: 60
Action: Using her magic to try to protect Encke and Oberon
Damage n/a
Location: D2

It hurt.

Pendour was no stranger to pain, but oh, it hurt.

The energy seared her fingertips and all the way up to her elbows. She couldn't feel the starseed, couldn't feel much of anything except for the jostle of shoulders against each other as everyone grasped for the little thing all at once, and then white hot awful in her arms.

It was a miracle that she could see, in all this chaos, but after a few seconds something gave, and out of the corner of her good eye she saw that they'd managed to knock the starseed away somehow, that it had ended up in the hands of Encke and Oberon.

For the first time since it had been pulled from Caedus's chest, Pendour almost smiled.

Almost.

Another Velencyan fell to the hands of a Knight, and that made her stomach twist and twist. There were a lot of Cadets around, desperate and maybe ready to fight. There was a Prince nearby who seemed not to want them to put the starseed back.

She understood his concern, understood everyone's concern, but there had to be a way to save this planet that didn't involve sacrificing the life of someone who was just starting to live again. There had to be. There was so much magic out there for healing and restoration. It was what Order was made for.

"Get it back to him," she whispered to the two. "I'll see if I can calm all of this down, okay?"

She summoned her ocarina, put it to her lips.

Just keep everyone calm until Caedus was okay, until everything was less desperate, until they all got out of the Negaverse's trap.

Then they could figure out the rest.

Quote:
Magic - When Pendour plays her ocarina, the negative emotions of those within five feet of her fade and are replaced with a feeling of pleasant relaxation. One can shake the effect with enough concentration, but it can serve as a distraction for those who would do Pendour harm. She can channel this magic for 45 seconds.

Action: Making a PLAN
Damage When calculating damage: 1d10 + 7 (Rank) ]
Location: E6

Pollux had moved in on the generator, and the sheer numbers of Chaos had quickly overwhelmed him. Giulia had moved to the northwest when the generator fell, trying to consider how to best get him out of there. But it was obvious, by the way Chaos was mowing down people, that she needed help.

And she had help.

"Etoile!" she said with cheer, and waved back to the kitten. "My brother is in there," she said, and pointed to the pile of chaos bodies, "And I'm out of magic. Do you think any of you can cause a distraction?" she gestured. "I'm gonna go in, try and grab him. I'm skinny, but tall. I can run in and grab him. I'll go in towards the center console. Castor and Scylla are up there. If we can get him to Castor, he'll protect him."

She swallowed. "But it's gonna be dangerous, everyone. So... only volunteers for this one."

She turned to stare at where the generator had been, and saw another explosion.

Saw a body.... pop. A fine spray. A mist. And paled. "We- I need to go get him soon."

Super Sailor Cybele
HP: 0
Action: KO'd
Damage n/a
Location: F2

Under the assault of the two that came to Jet's protection, Cybele finally fell. The fist sent her reeling. The bokken sent her toppling over, and she did not rise again. On the ground, she flickered in and out of consciousness.

She had fought and resisted for just long enough, though.

As she fell, the last generator was broken. As she hit the dirt, her clothes faded all the way back to white.

Page Starlight
HP: 30/50 HP
Action: Talking to Aeleas
Damage N/A
Location: B4

Starlight didn’t know if he had it in him to tell her to give up the Vanguard. He knew the frustration and fear of disappointment, and he looked at Whisler next to him, almost pleadingly, before he looked back to her. “If you don’t want to go, then don’t go. If you stay, we’ll help you.”

It was as simple as that, right? Isn’t that what everyone said? Isn’t that what everyone wanted to do? Help, and be more than themselves?

He didn’t want to make this any harder on her than it had to be.

“I won’t be disappointed, no matter what you choose. If he cares about you, he won’t be either.”

Or--honestly, he didn’t know. He was worried that Whisler was going to disown him right here and now, or tell him he was wrong, or be disappointed in him.

Sailor Eivissa
HP: 33
Action: Getting saved by the Lt. she just punched?!
Location: B6

And suddenly her legs were attacked by little teeth and claws. The icicle senshi yelped out and turned like she was going to be kicking the heathen that bit her.

But then everything felt so wrong. They had to leave. She had to get out of here. The feeling in her gut was that if she didn't go with this agent who yanked her, the cat, and Lich, she was going to die here. After observing everything, attacking late, she was going to die or run.

Well, she just couldn't die, could she?

Tears were gathering in her eyes as she got a feeling of hopelessness filling her u. They had tried. They lost. They were misled by the alien faction, by Lyndin specifically, and they had lost this battle to Laurelite and her minions.

"s**t!" She could only scream out as she let this agent guide her. If she had done more, maybe, maybe they would have won.

Eso - Cadet with a dagger
HP 35
Action: Following Tenoch and helping Nessa
Location: D2

"We have to go! Tenoch! But..." He looked to Lyndin. Did he go? Did they follow suit still or did they try to stay on Earth?

He held Nessa closer to him, trying to figure out what to do all the while looking at his purple friend. They had been through so much together, and for what now? Everything was ruined. Lyndin was killing Caedus, they were going to have this planet destroyed.
"Do we stay? Do we go with Lyndin? I'll follow you, Tenoch, through the galaxy." Everything in his stomach felt like he wasn't going to make it. Like the majority of them weren't going to make it. It all fell apart.

...And she absolutely hated it.

A moment later the Cadet had burst into tears and was clinging to Starlight as though he were the one thing keeping her together, sobbing against his chest as the heavy weight of her decision bore down upon her, and she felt the tug of her Commodore fade.

Transcendent Eternal Encke
HP: 60/100 (+5 buff from Pendour)
Action: Really just can't stop talking, sorry Oberon. Using transcendence energy to support the crystal and Oberon on their way over to Caedus.
Damage: --
Location: D2 -> take us to Caedus, Oberon!

Oh, he had assuredly expected this.

It didn't stop it from making his heart quicken, his hairs from standing on end, his bones singing, and he closed his eyes to steady himself with the energy and the electricity and the way he jammed his feet into the ground in an attempt to ground that. That would hurt later. That would very much hurt, later. He was fortunate in that he asked Basiluzzo to stay home. Perhaps there would be someone to nurse that wound.

It was growing more intense.

Encke's eyes flicked upward toward the energy pulses from the machine for a moment; looked back down to Lyndin and his task in the next. Lyndin was connected to the machine, somehow. Perhaps Encke could extrapolate how. It tore at his heart, a bit; in spite of all of this, he still didn't want to see Lyndin hurt. He cringed. He winced. He still pulled, still tried--

And found himself letting out a noise of surprise almost in tandem with Lyndin's inhale.

He had gotten a hand on it, as well as Oberon. The second starseed he had held in only a matter of weeks. He looked at it, in all its glory, in the way it was bubbled, and the part of him that worried that perhaps this was the wrong thing spoke and sung and jittered with its own concern. Could this starseed even return to Caedus? Should it? Should he just let Lyndin leave with it, murdering his friend for his --

No, no.

Encke had been told to make a choice and he had made it. He was told it was the wrong one. The gas filtered in, and the box closed in, and his ability to speak was stolen, and his muscles spasmed and locked, and--

--and he had broken the box.

Caedus deserved to make this choice on his own, and if it was to return himself to the Cauldron, it should be when he had made or agreed to that decision. Not when someone took it from him.

"I'm sorry," he said to Lyndin, hoarsely as he was still recovering from the electrical energy, as he still sincerely felt sorry for his actions. Was this even the right thing to do-- "I once died from making a decision someone else decided was bad. I'm only alive again through the power of these people around me." Well. Not these people, exactly, but, "I understand why you made this choice, I just..." He just couldn't. "I believe in Caedus. And us. And I still pledge my help, if you'll have that." A tired, affectionate chuckle. "Even if it's by recruiting my relatives."

Maybe especially now, after possibly stealing a chance away from Velencya.

But did it?

He hadn't time to think.

"I want everyone to live."

Maybe he was a fool.

If they were going to do this, they had to get away from the prince.

He turned to Oberon.

"Can help boost us a bit while we get over to him."

Encke figured it wasn't a question of what either of them planned to do.

He saw the protective bubble around the starseed. Paused, and took in a deep breath. Focused. Felt Pendour's magic licking at the edges of his senses, boosting him further. Centered himself on that, on her music, on the energy of the comet within him. Pushed that out, reinforcing Lyndin's protection, reinforcing the crystal against the thick energy in the air.

Action: Hugging his son and new daughter???

Location:B4

Whisler was still working to get his breath back. His Transcendance markings had been flickering and his heart was reaching for the Chaos that had been everywhere and all around them, but he had kept his eyes on Starlight, and he came through. Surprisingly. But oh, that awful sirensong.

When the Cadet began to cry, Whisler crossed the last step between himself and those two and pulled them both into a hug. “Of course we’ll be your family. Of course we’ll help you. That’s what we do.”

He pressed his lips to the top of Starlight’s hair and wore a small, proud smile. “Good job, son. I am so very proud of you.”

They had survived.

General Sylvite
HP: 100
Action: Grabbing Albite
Damage n/a
Location: B6

The Page was snatched out of reach just after giving her a - a compliment? Weird. The last generator finally fizzled out from all the punching and stuff.

All that was bad enough, but on top of it, there was definitely something weird going on with the central machine. Her hair was starting to frizz up, even all the way over here, and her knives were all prickly from static. The Sovereigns still seemed like the knew what was going on, so that was something, and to be fair things did seem to be going mostly okay for them, but still.

It seemed like it might be a good idea to get out before all these messed up machines decided to get all explode-y.

She was kinda trying to subtly edge towards the side of the field when she saw him.

Albite.

Facedown in the grass.

She sucked in a breath and broke into a sprint.

"No. No. No no nonono."

She didn't like it when bad stuff happened to anyone in the Negaverse, but there were only a few people she really, really cared about. She cared about her subordinates. She cared about Rak.

She cared about him.

Rushing up to him, she scooped him up into her arms like he was nothing. "Don't. Die," she whispered into his air. "Wake up and I'll buy you so much ice cream. Cookies, too."

She could see now that he was breathing, but her heart was beating faster and faster anyway. She edged back towards the corner again, towards Axinite. "All the desserts, actually. All of them."

General Jet
HP: 81
Action: Confronting Cinnabar. Standing with Aquamarine and Ashanite, and whoever else is around.
Damage N/A
Location: F2

Jet’s head whipped around when he heard his name, and then registered what Aquamarine was referring to. It was none other than their old mentor, turned traitor. He hadn’t recognized her before, but with the effects of Chaos changing her, it was easier to tell.

He grit his teeth and growled, his weapon gripped tightly in his hand as he rushed back to join Aquamarine’s side. And to assist Ashanite if needed.

But it seemed as though everything was coming to a close, and he sneered at the woman with her armor and Mars symbols. He stood by Aquamarine, close enough that the back of their hands brushed together for a moment, before stepping forward to make sure he placed himself just slightly in front of him, between him and the traitor.

“If you attack again, you’ll regret it,” he said, giving her the chance to back down. There was no point in fighting any more, but if she tried attacking Ashanite or Aquamarine or anyone else, he would make sure to deal with her as swiftly as he had Ochre.

He would have to check on Aquamarine once this was all over. The illusion still tore at him, and while he’d had dreams of Aquamarine dying before, it hadn’t been as real. He would have to take care of that Eternal Senshi as well.

Negaverse Sailor Niter
HP: 50/50
Action: Hauling Fluorapatite like a bag of… Fluor.
Damage
Location: F2

That was.

Well. Niter wasn't sure what all of that was. He vaguely understood that the generators had to be protected, that the center console had to be protected, and he saw the last generator go out in the distance, but — he didn't exactly feel mad about it. This was like progression gaming, or something, or he tried to tell himself as much, even though he knew real life didn't work that way. People's lives didn't, either.

He tried to look for Jet, but his superior was picking another fight after the last one left. And Niter needed a break from helping Jet beat people down.

Felt that familiar low-grade panic constrict his guts, and Niter figured that he spent too much time around people. Nite took a walk, shook his wrists out, stared at the ground and hoped he wouldn't bump into anyone.

And he didn't exactly bump into this person, but —

He knelt down, then gave the person (Fluorapatite) a couple firm pokes in the shoulder. "Hey, are you okay?" Waited a moment, but got no response. "Works for me." At least they were wearing black, so Niter wouldn't have to call Jet over to start pulling crazy gemstones out of their chest. "Just — don't wake up yet, okay?" He slipped an arm under their knees, then another arm under their shoulders (then he thought about it, and wove his arm under armpits instead), and hoisted them up.

Strangely, it was a lot easier than he was expecting. Now he just needed to find the designated body dump medic tent. If they had one.

He hoped they had one, he couldn't just like… Shove her into a curiously infinite backpack space.

Squire Aogashima of Cosmos
HP: 17/75
Action: she just wanted to find her new alien friend but an impromptu concert is cool too.
Damage: --
Location: D2

What a chaotic situation for Aogashima to get caught up in! More than the already chaotic situation that they were already in the middle of, anyway.

The petite Cosmos squire had been trying to search for Valnyr, to catch up with her new friend, but it seemed that the other woman was much faster than her, because she couldn't catch sight of her anywhere... and with her already being somewhat worse for wear, and with chaos forces all around, it didn't really seem like there was a good, direct route to go looking for her. And then Lyndin had suddenly shown up, along with everyone trying to get that starseed back from him, and. Well. W e l l . . .

She needed a moment to process all of this. A couple moments. Like Internet Explorer processing time speed.

The sound of an ocarina playing broke her from her thoughts, and while she didn't know the tune being played, it sounded very pleasant! And, well, being the aspiring idol as she was, it inspired Aogashima to sing as well, though it was a different song from whatever it was Pendour was playing.

The wish you made one day
Lies sleeping in the earth
At the promised time
A sprout of hope will push forth

At the time we met
Your dream was but a seed
When enough time passes
Perhaps it will bloom into a flower

I will offer you these tears
So you can shine even brighter
I've always been watching over you
From the silent sky
And now I will become the rain

Eternal Sailor Oberon
HP: 17 - 15 (from attempting to take the starseed) + 5 (thank you Pendour!) = 7
Action: Waiting for Encke to shut his mouth so they can get the starseed to Caedus.
Damage N/A
Location: D2 to D4

He was in so much pain. He felt like he was running out of energy. His chest ached, and he didn’t bother looking down to see how stained with red his once white shirt was. His gloves had been burned through, leaving his fingers and palms and now his arms raw and red. He could feel it dripping from his hands and arms as the energy pulses tore into him.

And then they had it. He and Encke had Caedus’ starseed.

But he couldn’t move without Encke. He needed the extra boost from his energy to keep it safe and protected, especially if they were going to get away from everyone who wanted it for their own purposes.

How dare they decide to play executioner? Rebirth or not, Caedus was Caedus. If he was reborn, he wouldn’t have the same memories -- he wouldn’t be who he was now and who they knew. Who were they to condemn him for wanting to live? He survived a thousand years in the Rift to live, and that was going to be thrown away because they decided his life was worth less than those who lived on Velencya?

Yes, it sucked that their world was dying, and yes it sucked that he couldn’t awaken, but like some of Lyndin’s Cadets pointed out -- they needed to adapt. Maybe they needed a bit longer than six weeks on Earth to figure out a way to save Velencya without sacrificing Caedus!

Shut up, shut up, and move!” Oberon breathed out his exhaustion, his hands protectively around the starseed. They needed to get it to Caedus as soon as possible, and Encke decided now was a good time to make sure alliances between himself and Lyndin remained intact?

Oberon had been the first to offer his energy to them when the Vanguard and Velencians had arrived.

He had been serious about helping them. If his determination to return Caedus’ starseed to him made him an enemy of Lyndin’s, then so be it.

He was grateful for Pendour, but he wasn't able to thank her properly at that moment. They had too much riding on getting Caedus' starseed back to him. Anything else had to wait, and he hoped she understood.

Finally Encke was done talking at Lyndin and he moved with him as quickly as possible to the Center Console where Sessrumnir was still holding Caedus.

Sessrumnir, Knight of Jupiter
HP: 32
Action: Putting Caedus on the ground to get his starseed back.
Damage N/A
Location: D4

“Thanks for the advice,” he grunted in response to the Squire in blue (Imbrium), very much aware that the Console looked like it was about to go, but he also didn’t want to just move Caedus and possibly confuse whoever got his starseed. He needed to stay there until he got his starseed back, and then he would figure out where to move -- although the prospects didn’t look very good, what with the General Kings and Queens around the perimeter.

He didn’t bother to mention that Caedus wasn’t heavy, and could probably do with eating a little more. However, he remained right where he was.

Sessrumnir was grateful for Belmont’s assistance at least, and he tried holding his arm out in a way that made it easier for the younger Page of Jupiter to wrap his wounds. He would probably redo them later, but now all that was needed was a quick patch job.

Thankfully they didn’t have to wait much longer. Both Oberon (who looked like he was going to collapse at any moment) and Encke were on their way back with the volatile starseed.

Carefully, Sessrumnir lowered the unconscious King to the ground, although he made sure to keep his back to the main portion of the Console, just in case it exploded prematurely. He didn’t want their efforts to be in vain if Caedus ended up dying from being hit with debris in the process.

“Hurry,” he encouraged the two, his now free hand reaching out for Belmont’s arm so he could shove him further away from the Console. “You. Get away from here,” he growled, his eyes narrowed on the Jupiter Page who had just helped him. He knew Belmont was concerned about him, but if he didn’t have enough motivation to leave on his own, Sessrumnir would just have to break his heart to do it.

If Oberon was in this bad of shape, he didn’t want Belmont even worse.

Page Starlight
HP: 30/50 HP
Action: Talking to Aeleas
Damage N/A
Location: B4

If Aeleas hadn’t known about the Commodore’s plan, he supposed she didn’t know what was going to come next. They were as far away from the rattling machine, and Starlight swallowed a lump in his throat as he held Aeleas. The energy still being blasted into the sky didn’t bode well--if that was seriously strong enough to reach a comet, what could it do to them, here?

He couldn’t offer her a life on Earth just to let see the end of it, and he hoped that whatever her boss had been doing it didn’t actually include wanting to destroy the planet. But...with all the Negaverse agents around…

He swallowed and stayed close to Whisler.

If anything was going to happen, they weren’t alone. He just wished Newgrange was here with them.

Belmont, Page of Jupiter
HP: 11/50
Action: Leaving Center Console
Damage N/A
Location: D4->B4? Somewhere else

Oh. Had he done a bad job patching up his arm?

Sessrumnir had given him a good enough push that Belmont stumbled a few feet away. Maybe it was because he was tired and exhausted, or distracted by everything else, or maybe he really just hadn’t been expecting it.

A part of him understood that Sessrumnir was probably just trying to keep him safe. Probably. Maybe. He wasn’t used to people growling out commands or looking at him with such a piercing look, or shoving him.

Belmont wasn’t insecure, but given how everything had already gone tonight, it was easy to think that he was just taking up space. And why should he stick around? He’d been mostly dead weight for a while now. Slightly less so than the unconscious alien on the ground, but that wasn’t exactly something to brag about.

His brows furrowed in the brief seconds since the Jupiter Knight told him to get away. He looked at him, at Sessrumnir’s arm, and then back. Belmont continued to frown, and his expression never shifted to anything happier.

Was there anywhere to go? Everything down South seemed like a mess. Up North, he knew there was a disgusting energy signature--Chaos, and strong. There wasn’t a good place to go.

So, he just turned his back to Sessrumnir and went. Somewhere. Anywhere. Away.
