I say they should only ban video games for guys cause they're the ones stupid enough to be brainwashed and go do stupid things.

Well, I, for one, have never seen anyone being brainwashed by a game. If that's what you hear in the news, about most people acting like that being male... I guess that would be more because, culturally, violence is considered "manly".

When me and my friend went it to EB games no one looked at us weird because we were girls.. but they did when we walked up to the counter with about 6 games and a controller and it was funny because we had only been in there for about 5 minutes.

Typically two things happen when i go shop for a video game.

1. I get hit on... Typically it's buy a few games that I want and they start asking me all about what I like in games and what not. I usually say "hey.. can you just ring me out. I don't want to be hit on. I just wanna buy my F'ing game!"

or 2. I go in with my husband and they always ask him if he needs help and ignores me. and he always says. "Don't look at me, she's the one that plays video games." Often times they turn around and don't even bother to ask me for help. Or they'll be overly nice to me and try and make up for the fact they totally botched a possibly great sale.

I seriously think I cannot get a job at this game place because I am a girl and I haven't gone in there showing off some cleavage or wearing a short skirt. Really.

I'm qualified! They just hired this dude that goes moves slower then a snail and they won't hire me? xp

Other then that I never got problems because of my gender. surprised

the opposite happened to my bf. He sent in about 50 job applications to his local gamestop. then he went in one day and found that they hired this chik who openly admitted she didnt play video games and just was there for the pay check.

I don't have bad store stories.
But when we were at Gamestop to buy games, we checked if they were taking reserves on Brawl yet. Nope, but the employees discussed their favorite characters. Me and my brother joined in the conversation. When I mention Kirby, one employee said the only reason he likes to play as Kirby is because no matter where you are, when you press up on the D-pad, Kirby goes "HIII!"

I don't have any bad game store stories either.
Though since there are no stores for games where I live [ It was a pretty crappy place with hardly anything...but we're slowly picking up the pace now by getting new shops and stuff ] and I had to travel to Omagh or Derry to get games. I go to Omagh alot more because the guys up there kind of know me now and they know not to ask me if I need help since I tend to like, linger forever while choosing a game while People in Derry just give me looks of slight disbelief |D
I hope one of the many new shops coming here is a game one, then I could go get a job in it or something :'D

I was visiting a few of my friends and we stopped off, at a game store. I
asked about a certain game being in stock and, while I was waiting, this
guy was practically drooling all over himself.

I gave him a questioning look and asked about what's up. And his first
words were, "You have a boyfriend, don't you?" Is it possible to lose my
respect any faster? I mean geez.. rolleyes

I remember once, when I stopped by one of the five local gamestops, I asked about oblivion coming out for the psp, this was during April, and I wanted to know if the release date was still on track (which it isn't). The guy looked at me as if I was crazy, and he adamantly told me that it wasn't coming out on psp. In response I opened up their up coming game listing, and flipped to the page which had the up coming psp games on it and pointed to oblivion, and said, "thanks for the help, I couldn't have found it on my own." After saying that I walked out of the store, after seeing that the guy's face had gone completely blank.

Another time I went over to a different gamestop, to pick up my reserved copy of Rouge Galaxy, with my boyfriend. When we walked in the door I had ceased to exist, and when we arrived at the counter they asked him what he needed, and all my male did was keep quiet, and I said, "I'm here to pick up my reservation for Rouge Galaxy." I hate it when things like this happen when I got to game stores with the men in my life.

I have also had people try to suggest games to me at game stores, normally when picking up reservations, like what happened when I picked up my copy of Dawn of Mana. I think it's funny cause about three fourths of the time I have either already played the suggested game, or already own it.

Normally when i go to gamestop nowadays i don't get any looks because i owned every store clerk in the store there in at least 10 games. but when i first started going in there, they were completely clueless as to what i was doing in there because as far as they know i am the only girl gamer in this entire town. But now i finally made friends with the store clerks so they finally understand girls can go into a game store and shouldn't get looks or the oh so famous "do you need help finding a game for your brother line"

I've never had a problem like this. Our EB games store is managed by a girl, so no one there would dare say anything like that. We also have a store here that sells only second hand games and they've only been kind and helpful to me. I'm a little afraid whenever I go into Video Games ETC. just because it's all run by like teenage guys and I know they want to say something, but the'll get it from me if they do....I'd be so pissed, heh. I just hope that they don't say things like that to me, cause they'd certainly lose my business if they did.

I never had any problems such as these except getting the wrong change from a $50 bill at a gamestop store from a teen male clerk. As if I wouldn't count my change twice...but no matter.

I don't shop at EB cuz my friend reserved a Harvest Moon game there and they didn't get it until a week after it came out to other stores (such as Gamestop, where I got my copy).

Anyway, usually when I go into video game stores I don't get much beef. Usually I go in with my big sis (who also loves video games) and the dude behind the counter may treat us like we have no idea what we're doing (i.e.: when buying an XBox 360 game, they usually tell us "Now, you know this is for the XBox 360, and not the XBox right? Are you sure you have a 360? It's that white one over there"...grrr...) but other than that, everything's usually cool.

I do, however, love the time I went to this gamestop in a mall I'd never been and I noticed they had a Guitar Hero game out that you could play. For free. Sweet. I waited behind this like 20 yr old dude who was playing pretty good on medium and he laughed when it was my turn to play. I remember hearing him say to his bud "This should be good." Little did he know that I'm a pretty decent Expert on there, but just to show him I played a song on hard mode and easily got a perfect score. I loved the look on his face! Priceless!

I'm on a first name basis with my fav gamestop's employees. Least the two who work when I manage to go there. My bf & I will spend a few hours just chatting with them over various games and stuff. Even got free pizza from em once! 3nodding

I never seem to really have any trouble with the people at EB Games where I live, I almost always go in with my boyfriend and I sit down to see if I can find a cheap game. Though, I have noticed how they get surprised when I ask for a violent game like God of War or Resident Evil.
