Eternal Senshi

Transcended Princess Eternal Sailor Ganymede

“Not anything you wouldn’t find on Earth so far,” Ganymede said. She kept her voice lowered, too, and guided Eupheme in the direction she thought the jackalope might have gone. There were other people around, many of whom Ganymede knew or had seen before, but she didn’t interrupt any of them while her focus was on Eupheme.

“We’ll visit soon,” she continued, “and I can show you how much it’s changed since I first went there. You’ve been there before when you were very small. I don’t know if you remember. I probably shouldn’t have taken you, but… it’s always felt safe there.”

She and Valhalla had stopped taking the kids as soon as they’d developed enough words to verbalize their experiences there, but they’d been so young it might have faded from memory by now.

“We should visit your world, too,” she added.

Mechelen Squire of Lysithea

Well, thus far there were no jakalopes, and Mechelen wasn’t one to just give up but…maybe if she stopped only looking for the (most likely fake) creatures, she would find something else neat.

She paused in her walking when a very familiar blue caught her eye and she made her way over, excited to see her friend. “Halle!” As she got closer, she realized that the only thing that this poor Squire had in common with Halle was the color of his outfit, but…he was not Halle.

“Oh shoot! I’m so sorry, I just saw the color through the trees, and thought you were a friend of mine! I’m Mechelen! Squire of Lysithea, and I love your hat!” She looked at the other boy next to the fair haired one and grinned. “And your vest! Pinstripes bring me joy!”

So did stripes in general, which…made her own outfit a great fit, however, she saw another flash of blue through the trees and her eyes lit up. “Good luck with the jackalope! I think I see my friend!”

Hurrying, Mechelen made her way towards the new spot of blue. “Halle?”

Squire Halle of Lysithea

Spinning around as Mechelen's voice suddenly sounded behind him, Halle grinned at her. She hadn't found the jackalope yet, and her being here meant they were still at the same starting point, right?

Eyes scanning the area, he didn't see any extra movement, so he relaxed for a moment, and greeted her, "Do you wanna make a bet?"

And then, "I just saw another Lysithea squire. That lady really must like teenagers." There was a distinct tone of judgement for that lady.

Deep Space Selinur

Selinur had heard about the events and while the arm wrestling was not his thing, he really didn't see the point in it, the ancient senshi had perked up hearing about the hunt. He was a hunter, his people were hunster among other things, and so he'd signed himself up for this event. The fact it was also on another planet was an added bonus, because he intended to see as many other planets as he could, he wanted to see what state other senshi's planets were in.

It was a, in his opinion, a nice way to guage thing and see how the universe was slowly being rebuilt. He mightg even make some allies while participating in these things, and he would one day need all the allies he could get. He'd wathced the others take off after the little animal, a jackalope, before he finally took off into the woods after it himself.

Entering the woods after the others, in the hopes of finding the creatures, he did wonder how it behaved. Was it something which would just run...or was it the sort to hide? Did it go underground or was it the sort of creature which hide in the bushes and not dig? It wasn't a creature he was familiar with so he wasn't exactly sure what to expect from it, though it was fast that he was certain of, it had taken right off into the woods. The purple flowers were everywhere, like a blanket covering the ground, and he did for a moment make a mental note to ask the princess if he could grab some to bring back to Earth with him. He would, of course, keep them in a pot and not plant them on Earth and he certainly wasn't goign to plant them on his own planet. He had no intentions of planting a species of plant somewhere it didn't belong, he wouldn't risk the native species being overtaken.

Sniffing the air his ears flickered as he glanced about the woods, pale eyes staring around as he wondered which way the jackalope had gone.

Connie, Squire of Chronos

“Belmont!” she greeted enthusiastically, waving her free hand at her friend. “Hi! It’s good to see you! Oh, sorry, you’re looking hard for that bunny aren’t you?” she winced, hoping she hadn’t scared the cute creature away.

“Oh! Have you met Perdita? She’s so cool. And a lot of fun to be around. And I was thinking how much fun you were to be around too, so I wanted to come say hi!” she explained. She realized she was rambling a bit and hoped it wasn’t too annoying. She was just excited to see him!

“I have not seen a single bug here,” she let out a dramatic breath of relief. They did not need to deal with bugs on top of trying to find the little bunny!

Sailor Chibi Eupheme

Visiting Ganymede sounded like a good idea. And while she didn’t know if she actually remembered, but she and Henry had talked about a castle that they swore they’d been to before. And a hall of windows and portraits and ballrooms… Maybe they’d just seen it in a movie or something, but it felt real.

“Can we?” she asked, a little cautious because she knew how much her parents wanted her to be safe. “Can Henry come too?” And her other siblings of course, but she had a special bond with Henry. Even if they weren’t twins, she knew she could count on him for anything. Who cared if he wasn’t a Senshi? He was still great and deserved to have adventures too.

“Do you ever have a lot of people go to Ganymede like this?” she asked, looking around at how many people there were.

Super Sailor Surtur

Surtur had no negative response to Ymir’s frown. He was quite used to Ymir’s mannerisms by this point, anyway.

“We could,” he nodded in agreement, although there was more caution than enthusiasm in his voice. He didn’t want Ymir being put in danger. The Chaos was… concerning. The mist seemed to take over whenever it wanted. But Ymir was strong, and if they were there together, then surely they’d be able to keep each other safe.

“If that is something you would like to do. I would not mind showing you what is left of my home. I will admit that maintenance has been difficult with only one set of hands. Not that I expect you to pick up a hammer while we are there. Just don’t judge it too harshly,” he requested with a smile.

Reims, Page of Ganymede

Dering was sweet, and Reims felt his ears burn a little when Dering said they were friends. That was it? Reims didn’t think Dering knew him well enough to want to be his friend. Not really. But he was absolutely tickled by it and a smile tugged awkwardly at the corner of his lips.

He was just opening his mouth to respond to Dering, when another brightly colored Squire came running up and calling Dering the wrong name.

Reims bristled and crossed his arms defensively over his chest. He was trying to keep the red contained to his ears, but it was slowly creeping onto his cheeks.

Once again, he’d been interrupted. Once again, Dering’s attention had been forcibly pulled from him. And that was fine. He wasn’t going to make Dering focus all of his attention on him. But he would just like to have a casual conversation with him without feeling like he was as unimportant as he’d always been told.

It wasn’t Dering’s fault, nor was it the fault of any of the others, but he was keenly aware of the stark difference in their coloration. Bright clashed with dark, and Reims couldn’t even bring himself to say he didn’t have a choice in his outfit. It wasn’t as though anyone had stuck around to hear a response, anyway.

“You’re pretty popular,” he said quietly with a small smile after he managed to clear his throat so he wouldn’t push any unintentional emotions on Dering.

He'd almost missed the movement in the bushes nearby, and waited until he knew Dering was looking his way before nodding towards where he saw the movement of purple ribbon disappearing behind leaves.

Emain Ablach, Squire of Earth

...s**t.

Emain Ablach knew they were also there, on Cybele’s homeworld, also there for the events she was hosting. He wasn’t sure what he was expecting when he finally ran directly into them. And he ran into them together, of course, because why would he run into them separately? At least Promethei was talking to him, but Imhotep hadn’t said a word to him in about eight months. All of Emain Ablach’s texts had gone unanswered until he’d finally gotten the hint and stopped sending them.

And now all three of them were standing there. The only one missing was Tobias.

It was hard to say if Emain Ablach even remembered the jackalope, instead glancing at the other two and wondering if he should walk toward them or if it would be better to walk away from them. He knew which one he wanted, but what did they want him to do? Would it make them angry for him to approach them?

Was it better to pretend they were all strangers?

This left him belatedly looking back at where the jackalope had been and realizing he’d quite soundly lost sight of it. Great. Now what was he supposed to do? He caught himself turning toward them, but stopped himself before he took any steps.

The purification handbook that didn't exist didn't come with advice on how to handle his corrupted self's exes.

But were they his exes, or were they just stubborn?

Where the hell had the jackalope gone—

Imhotep, Page of Mercury

Why was Promethei clearing his throat before pointing out the jackalope--

Ah. Well. Fair enough.

Imhotep understood then, very quickly in fact, why Promethei was acting the way that he was. Quite near to where the jackalope had been was, instead, Emain Ablach. They met eyes for just one moment before Imhotep stubbornly averted his to look for the jackalope that had apparently just been right there.

Where was the damned thing? If he could find it, he and Promethei would have an easy excuse to not have to acknowledge Emain Ablach any further. Even as much as a lead weight sat heavily in Imhotep’s stomach at the idea of just pretending Emain Ablach wasn’t there, Imhotep couldn’t just sacrifice his resolve… This was getting silly, wasn’t it?

Wasn’t it?

His eyes tracked upward, toward the sky. Could jackalopes fly? Could they jump high enough to nearly be flying? How magic were they beyond the obvious?

Next, his eyes went beyond the sky to the other side of Emain Ablach. To in front of Emain Ablach. To each side of him. Everywhere but Emain Ablach himself. The most Imhotep looked at Emain Ablach was to glance at the side of his clothes, to acknowledge to himself the way they exposed the tiniest part of his chest—wait, no, ******** moving his eyes elsewhere.

What had Promethei said? Something about rabbits and grouping together. Did that mean jackalopes grouped together? Where were other jackalopes?

Were there any to the ground in front of Emain Ablach? What about behind him? Beside him?

His eyes went everywhere but Emain Ablach. There was a spark of irritation in his chest whenever ignoring him didn't quite work, but then, was it actually working at all? Emain Ablach was clearly watching them, or, at least, he wasn't leaving. Imhotep couldn't ignore him into invisibility—did he actually want to?— but he could look up to Promethei, gaze decidedly away from Emain Ablach. "I don't see it."

Did he not see it because it ran away, or did he not see it because it was near Emain Ablach and he refused to acknowledge those blond curls any more than he had already been forced to?

That weight sat heavier in his gut.

Promethei, Squire of Mercury

What was he supposed to do now?

He looked at them, and they looked at him, and he looked at them, and -- well, he looked at him. Imhotep was looking elsewhere. He was looking at the sky as if that held a mysterious answer. He was glancing around Emain Ablach's body as if he was a wall or Medusa where the primary rule was don't look directly at it. It didn't miss his notice the way Emain Ablach started and stopped toward them. It didn't miss his notice the way Imhotep would freeze and then suddenly look elsewhere when his eyes drifted too close.

Promethei started to lift his hand to at least wave at Emain Ablach, but paused to glance toward his husband as his husband was looking back into the trees. Awkwardly, hesitantly, he let his hand hang in the air and then lowered it.

Was he even ready for a face-to-face conversation with Emain Ablach? Teegan had hinted in their conversations he would like to meet up. Zebulon had dodged the question every time. There were a couple of reasonable explanations for it--usually related to his work--but then there were a few things that had been a bit more forced. They felt terrible to make, but they felt true, too. Something was still angry in his gut.

But maybe they could work that out if they ********, where had the g-ddamn jackalope gone? ********. Was he too busy looking between Imhotep and Emain Ablach? Imhotep had never seen it in the first place, and it looked like Emain Ablach was looking all over the place now too. If he had seen the damn thing, he didn't see it anymore.

"Don't see it now either," sighed Promethei. "Guess that thing scurried away."

He wanted to ask if Emain Ablach had any clue where it went, but he wasn't certain if openly addressing him with Imhotep trying to not acknowledge him was the wisest plan. He still couldn't help looking toward Emain Ablach, glancing to him much more directly, before looking back to Imhotep.

Part of him wanted to encourage Imhotep to get going so they could keep looking. The other part of him felt his tongue go dry at the concept of encouraging Imhotep to leave Emain Ablach standing there.

Dumuzi, Page of Pluto

He was starting to wonder if he should have dragged Richtersveld with him. Then again, that s**t wouldn't've worked anyway. She would drag the entire gang down, too busy trying to be a good person and healing people or ... something. He wanted to win, and none of that would make it so he could win.

He tried to head off that glowing boy to get at whatever was in front of him -- probably the jackalope, right? -- but then he lost track of both the glowing boy and the jackalope.

Dammit.

He wasn't built for tracking. Where was Nemyi when he needed them?

Or maybe Garber. He had to track down twins at some point, right?

Transcendent Eternal Encke

Why did it feel like he was getting stared at?

Encke was used to having eyes on him in a lot of ways. For one, as a civilian, he was an actor, and a decently known one at that. For another, he was a eternal senshi and he looked like a beacon, fine. But it felt like someone was staring a hole into his soul, and he couldn't quite figure out from where, exactly.

Don't look away from the jackalope. Don't look away from the--

Did an Enderman just streak by?

Encke jumped minutely as a man ran near him and then ran a distance from him, and in the process, he lost his eye contact with the jackalope. By the time he looked back at where he last saw it, the wily little thing was gone again. Was that sabotage? Had someone actually cheated?

Did it even count as cheating in this circumstance?

Maybe it didn't matter. With a sigh, Encke headed back in the direction where he hoped the jackalope ran off in.

Transcendent Eternal Anser

The amount of success she was having was a quick reminder of the fact that hunting wasn't exactly her thing. She loved games, and she loved winning games! Finding rabbits in the woods? Not so much.

Was Anser hot or cold when it came to finding the rabbit creature? Too bad there wasn't a way she could ask Cybele that particular question...

Instead, she would keep looking.

Maybe, if everyone else was just as clueless, she would just find it before everyone else.
