Jay sighed. Ghosts weren't a fear of his, they weren't even really a dislike. If anything, this reminded him that he had a few in the PC that he needed to take care of. He also had Golett, who he really needed to train. His brow furrowed in thought, as he shrugged off the hair-on-end sensation of being watched, and he started forward. Koda padded along beside him, but both stopped at a strange noise. The ginger's expression changed into confusion as he turned his head, trying to get a better watch on it. It sounded like someone was moving earth; in fact, as it grew louder, he could feel the sensation. He stepped in the opposite direction on pure reflex, before he even realized where it was coming from, but Koda stayed put, telling him it probably wasn't too close, or too large, whatever it was. 'Jay, I see something...' the whispard warned, staring, transfixed, at the pokemon that was pulling itself from the ground. "Is it a zombie? 'Cause it sounds like a zombie," Jay drawled back sarcastically, grabbing the first pokeball that came to mind, before tossing it out. Of course, he knew it wasn't a zombie. But he figured it was probably some sort of pokemon.

He clicked his tongue and listened, but still, all he could pick up was Koda, the graves spotting the hilltop, the natural structures, the faint presence of Golett, and.... that was it. "... Where'd it go?" he muttered, half to himself, half to Koda. 'It disappeared...' Koda mused thoughtfully, looking where the pokemon had been. After a moment, he started walking, and, frowning, Jay moved along with. "Well, that ain't disconcertin' 'r nothin'. Golett, yew take these weird, disappearin' pokes. Koda, you can find yer ghosts 'n the meantime, alright?" he proposed, moving forward along the path up the mountain.

Koda's eyes practically glowed as he quietly padded along through the graves, hunting for ghosts. 'Jay, Golett needs healing,' he informed his trainer, perking up and looking over as he caught 'scent' of a ghost. Jay quirked an eyebrow, then turned, clicking his tongue to try and locate the ghost pokemon. He held a hand out, and after a moment, obediently, Golett pressed up to his hand, tangible mostly due to it's ground typing. Jay smiled. It was a good thing his pokemon knew him so well...
Healing up Golett, Jay continued onward, rolling his shoulders and rubbing his muscles a bit as he walked. The place sure had one hell of an atmosphere....

Koda began slinking through gravestones, creeping further off. As he did, Jay focused in on Ralward instead, who had been so close, and so q uiet, he nearly forgot he was there. It was only when his concern for Golett's safety, and his ability to communicate with his pokemon, started to arise, that he remembered he'd released the psychic fairy earlier. And immediately wondered if he might have caught some of that negligence and forgetfulness. .... Ralward, 'r you readin' my mind right now?.... A little.

He'd maintained possession of the communicator, though at this point, honestly Jay could be doing this himself. He had a feeling the continued transfer of information was more for convenience, as well as to increase 'familiarity'. Jay seemed the sort to want to know and be familiar with his pokemon; while Ralward had no particular opinion on the matter, he knew Mimey would be happy for them to engage more, and tried to reciprocate.

Jay silently communicated a response back to Ralward, before hiking his way up the hill. Koda, meanwhile, continued his hunt, ignoring the shaking of the ground that came with Golett's attacks. Probably more of those weird shadow pokemon... He looked over, though, as he noticed a vulpix limping away, foolish enough to have attacked his trainer. The whispard's ears and tail perked up. He hesitated. Then-- "Where are the ghosts?" he called out to the pokemon, his voice resonating with that of many, eyes aglow. The pokemon looked over, looking less than happy. "Why would you care to know? They are watching," the pokemon returned, ignoring their own question, and providing an answer. Its eyes flashed. "They likely know what you are...." Koda blinked, then tilted his head. "What do you mean?" he asked, raising his head and taking a curious step closer. The pokemon stared at him, before shrugging, and turnign to trot off. "I 'unno."

The wild pokemon fled, clearly not a member of these strange, disappearing ones, one of which appeared shortly thereafter for Golett to also take out. He straightened himself up, but turned his head, sensing something.... a bit odd from one of his pokemon. .... Jay, Golett is evolving, the psychic informed him. Jay smiled. "Figgered that was what that was," he remarked outloud. It was a little weird, objectively, not knowing for sure if your pokemon was evolving, but it gave off a particular sort of... sensation, almost like a warmth, but he couldn't actually feel the temperature on his skin. He smiled, but paused as he recalled something, and turned his head a bit. "Yew wanna try battlin', Rally? We can adjust yer moveset," he offered with a light smile. The ralts looked up, staring, apparently, bluntly at his trainer. .... Excuse me? He seemed genuinely caught off guard by that. "You heard me. If ya don't, I can always ask Gamma if'n he'd rather," the cowboy adjusted nonchalantly. Ralward was quiet a long moment. .... Perhaps... you should allow Gamma to battle.... he started, with Jay raising his eyebrows, but preparing to comply, .... While we adjust my moveset.'

Koda blinked slowly, looking over with his glowing eyes, a good distance away, but turned and padded back over, gnabbing a ghost Gamma ahd already defeated. Sure, that's fine. They seem to be attracted to you all, anyway... he remarked thoughtfully. Jay smiled, but then turned his attention back to Ralward. After all, they needed to figure out his moveset... and make sure that message to Sebs went through.

Jay worked with Ralward to make sure the message to Sebastian had sent. As soon as it had, they worked on the ralts' moveset, and got it to a more diverse, useful place, given Ralward... evidently hadn't bothered learning much during his use of the exp share. He'd been 'preoccupied', though Jay got the impression it was more because the ralts had no intention of battling, at the time, despite his friend's insistence of him getting stronger. Which only made Jay smile more to think that his pokemon was considering it now. While he and Rally worked, Koda purified the pokemon that Gamma defeated. And luckily, the two finished just in time for Ralward to help knock out a few of those disappearing pokemon, to test out his moves, and see what it was like to participate in an actual battle.

Jay could feel the change just as clearly as he could hear a few of his pokemon suddenly go still. He turned his head, trying to pinpoint it, before stepping back to listen in the direction behind him. 'Jay...' He heard Ralward's voice in his head, and frowned. "Yeah..." He wasn't sure what it was, or who rather, but he could hear, or feel, that someone was standing there.
".... You have a pokemon of mine." Jay's brow furrowed more and his fingers curled by his side. "'Scuse me?" he retorted. The voice was female, soft, and even. Lee clicked curiously from his shoulder, and he got a better idea of her location, and where his pokemon were at. "Tria... your Rapidash. She blonged to me and... my sister. I need her back. I'm sorry." Again, the voice remained smooth, almost emotionless, but there was a sincerity to it. He didn't feel uneasy despite the lack of intonation, and his expression shifted to one of confusion as he moved past the initial apprehension. Turning his head, he silently looked listened for some input from Ralward.
The ralts was gazing at the woman, who kept her vision on his trainer. Her appearance was.... unnerving. Very light blue eyes, extremely pale skin, and delicate blonde hair made her fit in with the graveyard eerily well, and if he didn't know better, if he couldn't sense it, and couldn't tell that Jay was picking up on an echo from her, he might have mistaken her for a ghost. But he couldn't feel any malevolent feelings from her, either. '.... I get the impression she's telling the truth,' he reported back, after a moment. Almost as if she heard the telepathic message, her gaze shifted to Ralward, though moved right back to Jay almost immediately.
"Yeah, well, I'ma let Tria confirm this first, alright?" he muttered, in response to the two of them. Neither responded as he lifted up the pokeball and released the fire pokemon on the uneven ground. She gave a low whiny, moving to Jay, snuffling at him as if to make sure he was okay, worried she had been released due to something going wrong. After a moment, however, she started, quickly stepping and turning to look at the woman. She went still, and the flames leaping off of her died down. Giving a soft sound, she moved forward, and the woman stepped over, placing a hand on her snout. "I will explain, I promise, but for now I need you to convince your trainer it is okay to come with me," she whispered softly, leaning into the pokemon who maintained a wide, attentive stare. Nickering, and shaking herself out of the daze she was in, Tria backed up, her flame tail swishing as she turned and moved over to Jay. She gently nudged him, then reached down to the pokeball he had put back at his waste, rubbing against his arm gently. There was a long, steady silence after the woman left with Tria, so profound it seemed even the ghosts respected it, and remained absent for the time being. Jay turned his head, then shook it, before turning around. Damn it... Why did he feel so off about that? Probably because he'd just lost a pokemon, and not to mention, to some stranger who introduced herself mere minutes before disappearing with it.
... Hell, she hadn't even introduced herself! Grimacing, he reached up to press his fingers to his temple, feeling a slight headache pulse behind his skull. '... Don't worry, Jay. I didn't sense anything malevolent from her. And Tria did recognize her as a familiar, and friendly, face,' Ralward's voice reassured him. He frowned, lowering his hand, before sighing. "Yeah, right. I know. S'just... a li'l... off ta have it happen so damn fast," he muttered, though turned his head as a pokemon made itself present. Gamma had remained still, observing everything, and lapsed into a thoughtful silence, but jerked up at the pokemon, and lunged forward to claim it for himself. He may have been distracted, but he still had the goal of getting stronger looming ahead of him.

While the mawile mowed down another wild pokemon, the group wasn't given much time to really process the loss of their teammate. Koda's head snapped around, and his eyes began to glow, but everyone else very quickly picked up something was off. Gamma was the last to take note, having been absorbed in his battle, but he turned as well, his eyes widening and the appendage on the back of his head lifting defensively as the air warped, twisted and then opened into a round portal, almost like a window. One that showed into a bizarre, very different, sort of realm....
Of course, Jay didn't see this, but he did feel a suddenly shift and he frowned, lifting an arm slightly, and stepping away from what almost felt like a source of electricity. It wasn't, though. It was just.... some kind of energy. That wasn't all that came with it, though-- there was noise. Some of his pokemon might have heard it, too, the visual spectacle was distracting enough that it didn't register. But for Jay, it was the majority of what he got, and his brow furrowed as he turned to listen better, body stiff as he tried to determine whether running was even an option, let alone the right one. What he heard, though, was... confusing. It sounded like... almost like a ship, the inside of a ship, a large metal ship, drifting at sea. The groaning of metal, things clinking together, and a wide, empty space surrounding every sound. There were low pokemon sounds, drawn out, and half-hearted, like they were waking up, but he couldn't place what pokemon they belonged to. It was too distorted. And very, very faintly, he could hear the sound of people, and as the seconds ticked by, those voices seemed to get louder, and more frantic, and reactive.
Then, suddenly, something zipped through the portal. And a cry burst through the muffled sounds, and suffocating silence. "HELP!!!"

Jay lurched back from the voice, though he was pretty sure it was telepathic. The only sense of direction he got was the sound of something speeding through the air, and as Lee gave a chirp of surprise, he got some brief impression of it darting from the source of the strange energy. "Hey! You! Hey you! Help!" The voice rang out in his head again, and Jay stumbled slightly, but got his footing, trying to locate the... pokemon? It had to be, right? "C'mon!""Wha--" Jay didn't get a chance to find it, before suddenly, it was right in front of him, grabbing his shirt, and pulling him, straight for the portal. Ralward grabbed onto Gamma, and they both started glowing, before he propelled them after their trainer. Koda immediately scrambled to his senses, leaped onto one of the gravestones, and jumped through the portal himself, following Jay into... wherever this pokemon was dragging him.

Jay had no idea where he was, but the ground he was standing on felt incredibly fragile, like he was standing on glass. His breathing drew in and grew shallow as he listened, but each sound from Lee, still perched on his shoulder, echoed too far for him to get any good idea of what was going on. Several large things loomed in the distance, and far off to the right, he could hear people, upset, talking... He got the impression they were looking, and directing their attention, at him and his pokemon. "Don't just stand there! Help!" the voice demanded again, and Jay turned, listening again for echoes, this time catching that the pokemon was close to him, on his other side. It was small, and hovering in the air close to him, and he got the feeling its focus was channeled on him, too.
He gave a hard sigh, but before he could respond, and ask what he was supposed to do, where he even was, he heard Ralward's hard, insistent voice cut through his thoughts. 'We can't. Now get us out of here, fast,' he demanded. Jay frowned. He'd... never heard that much emotion, let alone irritation, in the ralts' voice, and the fact that the pokemon bothered to have him hear the exchange was.... concerning. "Ralward.... where are we? What'm I missin'?" he uttered shortly, turning his head towards the pokemon. It was hard to determine where everyone was, especially Koda, but he could get a faint impression of Gamma and Rally from Lee's sounds. He wasn't sure about Golurk or Koda, though...
"HUH? Hey--" Jay turned his head as the foreign pokemon moved, but seemed to stop in front of him. His brow furrowed more as it fell quiet. "Huh!? C'mon! Seriously? I got a BLIND GUY!?" Jay's shoulders dropped some at the exasperated voice, and honestly, he couldn't help but wonder what the hell kind of pokemon this was. ".... Rally?" he prompted again. '... We are in some sort of.... area. I don't recognize it. It's not on the same plane we were from--'"Yeah! 'Cause it's MINE! They're usin' it! And--" Ralward quickly raised his telepathic voice some to block out whatever Jay was hearing from the other pokemon, 'There are legendaries, here. In fact, the irritation in front of us--'"Huh!? Hey! I--"'Is, I believe, a Hoopa,' Ralward continued, again pushing over the other, 'And Jay, I believe if we don't get out of here, we're going to be attacked by the very same people that have apparently taken over this Hoopa's space, and I don't think our odds are good.' Jay shifted, but he moved his feet carefully and turned his head.
".... Well then let's get outta here," he decided.

Jay was not typically one to turn and run, or even back down, but he was, in every single sense of the word here, blind in this situation. The surface he was on, his surroundings.... everything sounded foreign, and he couldn't place where things were. The area was too open, and too inconsistent, for him to get solid impressions of things, and there obviously were people here, by the voices he heard. And they weren't happy. He trusted Ralward, and if he thought it was good to get out while they could, he wasn't going to argue. "You gonna help us get outta here?" he asked, addressing the Hoopa, though it might not have been obvious to the pokemon at first, "'Cause we sure as hell can't help you if'n you get us caught or killed in here, 'n we don't know enough to do anythin' now." The pokemon whipped around from looking over at the group of people, and stared at Jay, but he looked about ready to argue when Koda suddenly shot a Fire Blast at the group of people, and turned.
"We gotta go! Now!" he insisted, a cacophany of voices blending together with his own, his eyes glowing. He grabbed onto Gamma's beak, the pokemon yelping out in pain and surprise, and turned to leap back through the portal, onto the graveyard ground. Ralward turned to the Hoopa, his own energy gathering in preparation to attack, or run. 'Get us out of here,' he insisted. Jay couldn't see, but he'd felt the heat of Koda's attack, heard the shouts of surprise, and he could feel the tension rising. He got the distinct impression that the clock was ticking, and shifted his footing back again. He could still feel the energy behind him of the open portal, but his feet had been pulled off the ground when Hoopa yanked him in, and he wasn't sure how far the fall was....
"Huh!? But--" There was silence, before the pokemon made a sound of anger and seemed to throw a fit, before finally conceding. "Fine!" Jay grimaced as he was abruptly grabbed by his shirt at his shoulder and knocked off his balance. He didn't hit the ground, though, and he felt Ralward wrap his arms around his foot, as he was jerked backwards, through the air. The wind left him as he hit the ground, hard, after, and suddenly, the energy was gone. "You're all useless! I'm findin' someone who can actually HELP!" the increasingly familiar voice declared, before he suddenly dashed off. Jay frowned, grabbing at his chest as he struggled to catch his breath. "What in thuh hell was all that...." he muttered, grimacing.
