"Heh...adorable." the man said as the grin on his face shifted to show his amusement. His body language however remained unmoved, unphased by Enro's threat. "The type of answer I'd expect from a hero. Let's see how close you can get to that goal."

With a flick of his wrist, the man produced a kunai from his sleeve as he charged forward with much greater speed then any of the other regular thugs around him. If Enro tried to match the speed himself, he would fail. So smooth and quick were the movements of the man, that it would be unmistakable to anyone watching... this man had been trained as a shinobi. The attack was aimed in a straight thrust directly toward Enro's chest, seeking to pierce his heart.

Enro didn't even have time to really even note how fast the new adversary moved. Instincts hammered into him during countless skirmishes was all that saved him from dying at the man's hand at that point.

His upper torso shifted quickly away from the thrust thought not quickly enough. The kunai would be buried into his dislocated shoulder but through the starbursts of pain and the creeping darkness at the edge of his vision, Enro's right hand would crash violently into the man's outstretched arm, specifically at the elbow. The force of the blow was magnified by his twisting motion with the intent of breaking his arm at the joint.

Hopefully the bone would protrude horribly from his flesh but whether this happened or not Enro, wrapped his large fingers around the elbow and then wrenched the arm downward with as much strength as he could muster. Thi second action was intended to roll the arm right out of the socket at either the elbow or the shoulder, Enro's impressive strength torquing it with great force to do just that.

His attacker would find that though Enro was a Genin, he was a very capable of fighter and could fight through both weariness and agony as he would display through his actions.

Impressively, despite his injuries, and even after the opponent's kunai dug into his shoulder, Enro managed to let loose one final attack. The blow was fierce and his aim true, but as his fist hit the elbow of the man, instead of the crunching of bone, Enro would feel a strange lack of substance. Just as his attack landed, his foe suddenly dispersed only to unleash a surge of electricity which engulfed him quickly and flowed through him, paralyzing him from head to toe, freezing him in the position he was last in.

Another slow clap could be heard, as suddenly out of the corner of his eye, Enro would see a figure landing from a rooftop, approaching him much in the same manner as the clone did before. "Excellent... you did much better then I would have thought you capable of, but unfortunately, as it is in life, you have fallen just short of where you must to stay alive..."

The cloaked and hooded figure arrived again, having walked through the marketplace while clapping to stop 20 ft in front of Enro, allowing the man to look on him straight on, even in his paralyzed state. "A pity, truly, but so it must be." The man quickly flashed through a series of hand seals as lightning began to course through his hand, collecting on his arm as he held it outstretched towards Enro, simply waiting for the final command before leaping off toward him... "Farewell, Hero."

Finishing his incantation, a bolt of lightning surged off the man's arm, seeking Enro's death at its end, but just as the bolt of lightning leapt forth, a figure suddenly appeared between Enro and the cloaked shinobi. How the new arrival had appeared was beyond Enro's ability to account for, but none-the-less, there it stood, much shorter in stature then Enro, yet exuding far more power. Stoically, the figure stood as the lightning bolt surged over them, the lightning licking about the stranger's body and cloak, and yet seeming to have no effect. It wouldn't take long for Enro to realize who had stepped in to save him, even from behind, it was unmistakably the woman who had recruited him for the mission in the first place.

Shocked, the cloaked shinobi who launched the attack took several steps back, but before he could get far, Kye spoke in a commanding tone... "Now you are the one who must make a choice. You can run, at which point, I will pursue and kill you... or you can sit here and wait for ANBU. The choice is yours. The cloaked shinobi did not answer at first, far too frightened to make a choice one way or the other.

Just then however, a massive form rose up from the ground as if growing from the earth like a golem, its fist stretched back in the air ready to fall on Kye. Gorou had been knocked out, but not entirely, and now his full rage propelled him to destroy whoever was on the battlefield around him. His eyes glowed red through the dust cloud created by his sudden emergence, but Kye stood unmoved, completely unaffected by Gorou's sudden appearance, and paid little heed to the man's attack. As the man's massive fist came down to crush her, Kye raised up her arm to meet the man's incoming fist with her palm, halting the attack effortlessly as it clashed with her hand with a hard thud.

"It seems your brother has made the choice for you... how unfortunate that it was the wrong one." Her voice as calm and steady as ever, Kye finished her words and then instantly shifted her weight as she tightened her grip on Gorou's hand and pulled him in front of her. Then, releasing her grip, Kye spun around quickly before delivering a devastating kick to Gorou's midsection which landed with a force so strong, it could be seen to ripple through the man, as it instantly seared a pattern of destruction into his chest and propelled him through the air at incredible speed, causing him to crash into the cloaked shinobi, crushing him completely as Gorou hit him and then crashed to the ground on top of him.

Standing still for a few seconds, Kye seemed to stare at her vanquished foes for sometime before turning to Enro to check on him. "You will be able to move soon enough, then we will set the bone and you can be on your way to the hospital."

"Congratulations. Your mission is complete."

It wasn't exactly like hitting empty air. His other senses told him that there was something there but his tactile sense reported nothing. It was deeply perplexing for that brief moment before a surge of electricity filled the space the strange figure once occupied and channeled itself along his arm and into his body.

Enro was blinded by both pain and the light produced by the electricity. In the meantime his muscles contracted violently and painfully, rooting him to the spot as thin filaments of electricity danced over his body. Thankfully his body was soon numb to the the world, the paralytic effect of the technique protecting him from pain and the exhaustion in his body.

Enro's eyes snapped to sudden movement in the corner of his eye and could only watch as the hooded figure leaped off of a rooftop and approached him in the exact same manner as his clone. Enro knew enough about ninja tactics to know he'd be led directly into a trap through the use of a lightning clone. He didn't even bother berating himself, he was far too busy trying to force his body to move through sheer willpower.

His eyes narrowed as the man quickly cycled through a series of handseals and created visible lightning chakra along an arm. His muscles strained against their ineffectual state just as the bolt of lightning erupted from his arm and darted towards him. In that instant, Enro miraculously moved backwards before a residual surge of electricity constricted his motions once again.

'Damn it!' thought the former soldier, in the instant before a slim figure materialized before the incoming bolt. How they appeared was lost to Enro though he could guess it was a level of speed far beyond his comprehension. Certainly another ninja and at least as far as a Jounin, if not faster. The bolt surged over the figure, strands of lightning coursing over their cloaked form and wildly impacting the sand around them. As the cloak billowed in the wake of the collision Enro immediately recognized the figure for who they truly were; the woman who sent them on the task, Kyoko!

Enro fought to think rationally through the situation. Kyoko was certainly a ninja and, going by her sudden appearance and the ineffectiveness of the lightning bolt against her, she was definitely of a different caliber of the ninja who attacked him. But if she was so strong, then why did she not just defeat the brigands and their shinobi brother by herself? To lure out the shinobi brother? He didn't have time to continue pondering her arrival as she spoke with the same authority and power as before, her voice cutting through the sound of shifting sand like his knife through the large brothers body.

However even as she spoke a great form burst from the sand and he strained to speak, to warn her against the threat. Nothing escaped his mouth as Gorou brought his massive fist down on Kyoko, threatening to crush her comparatively diminutive form beneath his fist. Her actions proved that he would have wasted his breath. A single hand halted the large man's fist without so much as shifting Kyoko's stance. The impact was clearly heard but was nothing compared to the explosive roar that erupted from a blurring quick movement from his employer, blasting the large man across the expanse of distance into his brother where they crashed violently into the sand. The force of her blow visibly left a ruinous mark on Gorou's body, shredding his clothing. It was not the sort of blow an ordinary man would walk away from, assuming they survived. It was the sort of blow he'd only heard of though, a regular attack that pulsated through any sort of medium with catastrophic effects once the practitioner reached the appropriate level of power.

The paralytic effect began to fade as the two incapitated brothers collasped to the ground. Enro took the moment of freedom to tentatively gauge the degree of penetration the kunai reached in his shoulder. It wasn't especially deep but he would not pull it out and risk bleeding out. When Kyoko's words reached him he turned to her and stared at her deeply for several long moments.

"That move you just used" he began " I've seen something like that before, a long time ago...and I don't think you learned it in these lands,"

Who was this one-armed kunoichi with a degree of competance reserved for veteran ninja. For the longest time there was only one ninja who had ever displayed the true extent of a Jounin level proficiency in Taijutsu and that was the man who introduced him to the ways of the ninja in the ruins of an abandoned complex in the mountains of the Rice Country. This Kyoko however, showed a level of prowess that surpassed even his masters in that single encounter.

He was shaking. He couldn't help it. The knowledge that ninja of such strength walked the earth was terrifying. And yet, he was actually afraid. This was anticipation, a desire to face such ninja in combat. Staring down at his shaking hands Enro finally asked.

"Who are you?"

Kye stood silent for sometime after Enro's questions and rather then answering him at first, she simply began to examine his arm as she waited for his muscles to regain full control of themselves. A small piece of her longed to let this man of the Rice Country know that she came from the same place so that he could have a sense of 'home' even so far away. Seeing the man tremble, she wondered if he was afraid, or anxious, or if it was just a residual effect of the lightning clone. Either way, none of her true thoughts came out, and instead only a cryptic answer was given in a soft, but serious tone... "I am merely a relic of a world you know nothing about. "

Kye said nothing else about herself, though she had already said enough in her appearance to save Enro. Clearly the man of the Rice Country had seen something of the Daidoumyaku, but she doubted that he knew anything more about it then what rumor told him. Had she not known Enro to be a citizen of the Rice Country, she probably wouldn't have saved him the way she did. As it was however, it was Enro, and Enro only who could testify to what he saw, and as a Genin it was unlikely that his report would leak any information that could serve to reveal her true identity. Beyond that, Kye was fairly certain from what she had experienced so far, that Enro wasn't the talkative type anyway... she believed that her secret would be well kept.

With the proper amount of time passed, Enro would feel the control of his body come back to him, and if he hadn't yet, he certainly would soon, as Kye made several quick jerks to the man's arm popping it back into it's socket. Clearly, Kye had done this before, as Enro's arm popped right back where it was supposed to be, though that would not spare Enro the pain. "You have done well to leave the kunai where it is, you are clearly well hardened to battle in the field. May your experiences serve you well in the future. I suggest you now make your way to the hospital. You have my thanks for your assistance."

With that, Kye began to walk away slowly, intent on finding Yasashi once more so she could discuss a few matters with him... though there was one stop to make before that. All this aside, her speed however was not so quick as to escape Enro if he wished to still speak with her.

'I am merely a relic of a world you know nothing about,'

Well. That told him next to nothing except that she wasn't who she seemed to be. She was definitely a ninja but one who did not want others to know about it. But then why would she reveal this secret to him. She could have easily allowed him to perish and intervene once he was dead or unconscious, though the former was more likely.

He could read nothing in her expression and knew that he would not be able to. A frown stretched the scar along the left side of his lip but he showed his resignation with a heavy sigh as his body fell under his control once more. There was nothing he could do with the information about the Kyoko woman when nothing could be gained by revealing her secret. No, he would have to do some investigation of his own into her identity and it would start with her companion, the man in the suit. He was the only person who seemed at all familiar with the wom-

His thoughts were interrupted by violent jerks applied to his wounded arm, popping the shoulder back into it's socket. It was a familiar sensation, abrupt pain that made him wince and hiss in discomfort. Though it was in socket, his brain was able to better process the pain and discomfort of having a knife buried in his flesh. He held back a groan through gritted teeth and resisted the urge to tear the blade from its fleshy sheath. His thanks was merely a grunt and he watched her walk away at a languid place after some final words.

He considered following her but in his current condition it would do nothing. She'd already shown herself to be tight-lipped about her identity and following her might be an end to her generosity. No, he would watch her retreat into the distance before walking in the opposite direction. His thoughts revolved around the entire mission and the events that transpired. He couldn't shake the feeling that the woman would re-appear in his life and not in the distant future

With the blast, intense winds, and violent looters on top of it all, the marketplace has taken a beating. While most buildings are still standing, most of the market stalls have been completely destroyed. Chunks of buildings are blocking the streets, trash is filling the alleys and flying through the air like tumbleweeds, and on top of it all looters are everywhere and even the ANBU can't catch them all. Well, hopefully they don't all have exploding tags.

Market Cleanup
Mission Rank: D
Information: It's not as bad as many areas, but there's a lot of rubble and trash scattered about the market. Not only that, but since the shop owners haven't been allowed back in yet, looters are all over the place! Clean up as much as you can, and scare off any looters!
How-To-Do: Ten posts cleaning up and dealing with looters.

The tall figure returned to the site of the battle to find that few signs remained to indicate any confrontation had ever occurred just a week ago. It seemed the sands consumed all evidence of the altercation save the remains of the wall the explosive tag detonated against. He gazed at the area for some time before squatting down to grasp the thick rope attached a wooden wheelbarrow filled with wooden planks and broken equipment. A heavy piece of fabric, torn from the wooden skeleton of a stall, was nailed to the wheelbarrow to keep any loose equipment from falling off.

Ordinarily, it would take two men to pull the wheelbarrow along at a walking pace but Enro managed to do so on his own, though not without difficulty. The strain was made apparent by the sheen of sweat upon his dusky face and the veins straining visibly against his face. The wheelbarrow trudged along noisily, occasionally jumping as the wheel ran over some object covered in sand. Enro worried the contents would tip over if the wheelbarrow should suddenly be unbalanced and it did not appear to have the durability to survive a fall with such a heavy load inside. He immediately resolved to find a space where he could simply store all the debri until a larger workforce could relocate it to a more practical location.

Unfortunately, finding such a location would be difficult with the surplus of looters in the area. He knew for a fact that they'd begun working together and, with a full week to run rampant, had established little hideouts in the few remaining structures. He didn't want to risk a direct confrontation with these looters who often banded together in groups of five or more when searching for anything salvageable. Any of their hideouts could hold upwards of ten men; odds to unfavorable for an ex-soldier to even consider...head on.

If he could find one or two able-bodied genin, they would have no difficulty clearing out a hideout and using it to store any rubble. If enough genin began to filter into the area all of the bandits could be apprehended within a few days, if that. First, he would need some genin to call on. He immediately decided on the nearest location where he would find some of them and set off once he stashed the wheelbarrow in a shop he knew was empty.

The journey to the marketplace would not be a long one but it would, for the most part, be a silent one. It was immediately clear that Enro was not especially talkative but if a question was directed at him that required a response it would usually be given in a single word.

Once they arrived at the marketplace Enro took them along a fairly straightforward path down the streets. As they walked he would break the silence. "Not much work can be done here because there are just so many looters and the ANBU are spread out too much. If we can cut down on the amount of looters running around, more people can flock in to help clear out the rubble. My plan is to start with the seven or so looters in that building,"

The structure in question was one of the few relatively untouched by the terrosit attack. It was a squat, one-story shop with two slight me playing cards near the door. Both were armed with knives and completely unaware of the tro's progressions towards them.

"I'm supposed to say avoid lethal force if necessary...it's really up to you. Questions?"

Reiko was content to follow around the tall man before her without a word, just absorbing the damage that the area had taken. She hadn't been to this area yet, preferring to stick to the places that had quite a bit more people, since everyone was running about trying to do their part to help rebuild the village. That made this particular area a bit unsettling, especially considering how lively it would have been before someone decided that they wanted to give a whole town of people a bad day. Luckily, there weren't any dark clouds around to further rain upon the misfortune of the denizens. Speaking of which, she could use a bit of rain about now. The water catcher back are her home was beginning to run a little lower than low.

When they stopped, so did her absent minded thinking. Her attention on the leading figure became fixed, obliging her to nod once or twice to show that she was listening.

"I have two. One, do you think there's side or back entrance to this place? And two, do you have any rope?" The girl's green eyes peered upward toward the him, disappointingly so. She hadn't realized that he was still a fair bit taller than her from a distance, but from close up he still had over half a foot on her. Even with the silly three inch heels that she liked to wear around in the sand. The red haired boy had no such advantage.

"Yeah, I have a question..." a voice said suddenly as a new participant appeared beside Enro, walking as if he had been there the entire time. In all truth, he had only just arrived in enough time to hear Enro's last sentence, but that didn't stop Shinji from understanding the gist of what was going on. Looters were abound and there was a group of people here who were about to take them out. "Just how strict is that no killing policy?" Shinji smiled at the words and turned to the group to let them see his playful nature, expecting that they would get a kick out of his light-hearted joke as he brimmed with excitement and energy at the site of an upcoming battle.

Looking at the leader of the bunch, it seemed that the man was well-suited to the task he had assigned himself to. He was both taller and seemingly stronger then Shinji by the look of it, but looks could be deceiving and Shinji certainly felt no feelings of being dwarfed by the man in power or ability. Another of note was in the group and had just asked a question as well, a rather pretty looking thing she was, and would definitely have to be a target of conversation at another time. She was dressed strangely for battle, but Shinji Shinji had no issue with it at all, and in fact he much preferred seeing her dressed the way she was rather then the majority of the robe-swaddled woman who lived in the desert village.

'I'll have to keep an eye out for an opportunity to help her..." Shinji said to himself as his grin widened and he nodded to her before turning back to Enro to see how he would respond. Truthfully, Shinji had no real intention to kill anyone, though he wouldn't be bothered by it if someone forced him to use lethal force. He had little fear in this situation and despite the warning of the officer at the administrative tent, he saw the situation as one well below his level of ability where little risk was at hand. In the end, as always, he was just looking for a good excuse to punch someone in the chest, and no good looting bandits was always a good place to start.

"No killing unless you are about to die yourself." David's voice rose behind the slowly growing group as the young kage approached. He'd spent the trip from the library considering whether to watch from a distance, hidden away, or make himself known, or even join in the fight himself. He'd chosen the middle ground of simply watching but having his presence known. It'd make the scene even more interesting if the genin knew they were being observed. But then, Shinji was also an unexpected presence. Last he'd been informed, the boy was still incapacitated in the hospital. Respect for the boy's part in defending the village dictated that David give him a nod of greeting immediately after his statement, before focusing once more on the group as a whole.

"These aren't bandits. They're untrained civilians who thought to use a crises to their own advantage. And foolish ones at that, to have stuck around so long. But they are determined. This area is cordoned off to civilians because they could well strike out against them. If possible, they are to be taken alive, for processing in the civilian courts." He hadn't planned this part, but considering the note he had entered on it seemed fitting to inform them of the little tactical information he'd been made aware of on the trip over. "If you do encounter shinobi though, use your own discretion." His bit finished, David's eyes focused on the large man he'd met at the library earlier. The others here seemed to be turning to him as the leader. That in itself was interesting, though he had to admit the man's posture made him appear a natural for the role. Letting him continue to act as the squad's leader for the moment would certainly make this more interesting, and tell him a lot more about the man himself.

Somewhat surprised by the new arrival, Shinji turned from his gaze to meet the newcomer, though he could already tell who it was. Stern as always, David looked none the worse for wear after their battle together, leading Shinji only to smile, as his playful side came out again. "Hmmph... figures you say that. Oh well, can't always have the fun you want." Itching for battle now, Shinji started to rotate his neck and shoulders and seemed to be going through some kind of limbering up routine as he swung his arm in a wide circle and jumped up and down a few times, shaking himself a bit here and there to loosen up.

Ending his routine with his right fist clenched together as he punched it into his left palm in front of him, a grin came across Shinji's face as he awaited a final order from the big guy who seemed to be in charge. "So whatcha say big and strong?... we ready to knock some sense into a few civilians?" Then he turned to David and stuck his thumb out in the direction of the looters, "How bout you Davey-boy?... You gonna join in on the fun, or are you just going to stand there lookin pretty?" Shinji locked his gaze on David, looking for any sign that he could have gotten a rise out of the young man that he had hoped for. Shinji loved to play with people, especially those who had a serious face on far too often for his own liking, and David certainly fit that description.

The lack of respect he was showing the Kage of the village through his manner of speech was probably jarring to those in the group who knew David's position as the Kazekage, but Shinji had not yet figured that out. To him, it was just David and though he held some rank in the village, Shinji still felt that the man was his peer and as such was not above a little ribbing and playful banter.

Pain Level 2 - The Konaga's Pain causes their muscles to ache heavily and respond slower then normal, reducing their effective Speed by one rank.

Pain Level 1 - The Konaga's Pain suddenly spikes, distracting them momentarily. How the pain exhibits itself differs (is up to the user to create), but it does not incapacitate them, it simply serves as a distraction.

Pain Level 0 - The Konaga's pain is at full strength, but this is normal. They feel the pain and are affected by it normally, but this does not endanger them or distract in any way. This is their baseline condition.

"There is an alleyway leading to the back entrance but the looters blocked it with some rubble, though I'm sure you could climb over it if you wanted to. No rope, I'm afraid,"

As usual he was forced to look down at the speaker, in this case a women whose ample cleavage was made absurdly visible by his particular vantage point. Whether he noticed this or not would go undetected by Reiko, such was the natural intensity of his amber gaze as he locked eyes with her. His gaze only wandered once a young man moved into their midst and spoke in a light playful town.

The disciplined soldier suppressed a scowl, feeling all too familiar with the type of character the boy seemed to possess. Still, he could be an invaluable aid in the oncoming battle so he opened his mouth to respond - only to be cut off by the appearance of the Kazekage and the words that came from his mouth. He nodded his understanding of the village leader's words and rolled his shoulders in preparation, eager to enter the hideout before another interruption could arise.

"They outnumber us by a few men but they are untrained and unsuspecting. If we can take out those two guards and draw the rest of them out of the hideouts we can pick them off as the step out of the door. Sound good?"

No elaborate strategy was really needed for the task at hand but the fewer casualties the better. Though trained ninjas he didn't expect many of them to have much combat experience. The Kazekage was around so Enro wasn't too worried but if he could get these kids back home without any serious injuries he could consider his job well-done. Without really waiting for an answer he plucked two kunai from his thigh holster and rapidly advanced towards the squat shop.

Being such a large, menacing figure the guards caught his approach easily and rose from their seats with knives in hand. His approach put both men on either side of him but before they could so much as yell at him to halt he leapt at the one on his left, batting his knife aside with a kunai and burying his fist in his stomach in a display of martial finesse usually reserved for extremely competent Genin. Before he could render the man unconscious he was forced to duck beneath the horizontal blade of the second man. He was nimble enough to avoid the following series of frantic swings before grasping the man's arm with a low growl and slamming the limb into the wall with enough force to loosen his grip on the knife. His free hand sought the man's face in a swift blow that broke the nose then wrapped around the scrawny neck so that the soldier could lift him into the air and slam his forcibly onto his companion.

The entire exchange took only a few seconds but the commotion it produced was enough to alert the men inside. The sound of scraping chairs and frantic cries permeated the area as the looters inside mobilized.

Not soon after she stopped speaking another person spoke up, taking her completely by surprise. She would've visibly jumped at his appearance if she hadn't been caught herself. Even after that yet another person appeared, neither of them being the red haired boy that she expected earlier. Maybe he was too tired, or figured that he didn't need to come along to help. Not that it bothered her, since with how weak he had appeared she doubted his ability to wrangle up dissenting civilians.

Between all of the small exchanges that went on between the two new arrivals, Reiko preferred to keep her mouth closed. She wasn't quite comfortable with talking to groups of people, and preferred one on one settings, especially with the white-haired boy that seemed particularly excitable. He'd be a nice replacement for for the boy that was probably still back at the ramen stand with all of his energy.

Reiko nodded, letting the big man move in before she decided to move herself. Seeing as how she apparently came here unprepared, she had to improvise. Her gaze lingered on mine as the engaged the duo at the doors, and when the entire building was alarmed, she set off for the alleyway that led to the back entrance, pulling her belt off of her waist since apparently no one had any rope. It didn't take long for her to disappear from sight, round some corners and end up at the back of the building. It was indeed blocked with rubble, but there was a sizable gap that she could manage with her lithe figure if she wanted to get inside.

She didn't really need to, as it turned out. Apparently some of the civilians still inside were rather cowardly, and someone had already made to escape out the back before they were caught. Not wanting to try to struggle with someone who knew she was there, she hid around one of the corners, waiting for him to be mostly out of the gap. Once he was struggling to get his legs through she turned the corner and jumped onto him, holding the belt in both of her hands and tightening it around his neck. Reiko pulled him out of the hole and onto the ground, flipping him onto his back and straddling him so that she could remove the belt and tie his hands.
