The innocent female awoke suddenly to a vision of stars. Apparently she had dozed off in the middle of the afternoon, and now she was fully awake under the newly born night sky. All that was running through her mind was feelings of embarrassment, for its not like she did anything all day to make her tired, if anything she should be just settling down for the night!

In her inner-conflict, she stood up and stretched, curling her tail around her leg as she always did. Everything around her was quiet, though noisy bugs sang to the beginning notes of summer. Ghost was excited, for this was her first summer as an adult, so she was able to finally see why everyone commented on how it was a better season.

She tried to recall what she dozed about, and if she had remembered any dreams. The only vision that kept coming to her head was a certain stallion, though she shook that off and flushed. Who knew she would be able to find a friend so easily, and the thought of anything more embarrassed her.

After shaking her mane once more, she began to trot into the open plain so that she could get a better view of the sky full of stars.

User Image Narci was bored. His only real friend, Azure, was off gallivanting with some pretty little mare he found, leaving Narci to fend for himself. He was lying in the crook of a large tree, the leaves tickling his wings as he yawned and tried to get comfortable in the fork of the branch. Just has he was finally comfortable enough to try and doze off, something caught his eye. The catch of moonlight off a mare shaking her mane off a bit in the distance. Narci flicked his ears, lifting his head to get a better look. A flutter mare to boot, maybe that was worth getting up for.

Narci hopped to the ground, breaking his fall with a few flutter of his wings and tossed his own mane, making sure there were no leaves stuck in. He stopped, wondering it he should bother. It was no dount his wings and hair looked much better during the day...

He was about to turn back when he took a longer look at the mare heading out into the meadow. Not only was she a flutter, but Narci caught the slim line of the horned adorned on her head. Intrigued and curious, he changed his mind again and pranced over, doing his best to make sure he was noticed.

Tweekend
"Oh my.." were the only quiet words that came out of little Ghost's mouth. It seemed the most brilliant of flutters had aproached her, and he held wings that she had never seen before. Such vibrant shades of blues and green, she felt colorless compared to him.

She shook her head, and tried to regain her composure, though she had to admit she was very much taken aback. For all of the Soquili that told her how beautiful she was for her wings and color, this stallion was definitely a show himself!

Straightening her shoulders and trying to raise her neck up to a more poised position, she tried to act more lady-like, especially since her mother had taught her all of these things. "Good evening," she said, warmly. "How are you on this fine night? Though I am a bit suprised to see someone else awake." She smiled to him, feeling a bit unnatural, though enjoying that she would make her mother proud in acting like a lady. There was no need to be childish anymore, especially since she didn't look like one. Her eyes kept drifting towards his wings, and she tried hard to stay focused in the conversation. She still had so much to learn as an adult.

She had to admit though, what a suprise run-in, especially at such a sleepy time of the night. Ghost was happy that she had woken up in just the right moment.

Kamiki
Narci puffed up himself at the success. This was starting off well indeed. “Good evening,” he said, bending down and bowing his head in greeting. He straightened up, looking up at her with a dashing smile. She was still taller than him, probably because of her mixed heritage, but Narci never ever let his small stature get between him and a mare. This gal was turning out to be a worth his time already. She was even more striking up close, her dark wings giving a satin-like sheen in the dim light of the night. She looked almost like a beam of moonlight, her subtle colors giving her a mysterious, almost ghostlike glow in the night.

“The night is sometime too beautiful to miss,” he said, looking straight up into the starts below. “I”m Narci,” he said after a moment of silence, eyes darting to her expectantly.

Tweekend
Something about his style seemed strangely familiar, and she realized how similiar his actions were to both Ariston and Guilian. Having a strong confidence amused her, and it was a confidence that was different then her brothers' or other males she had met before. Such suave fellows, it seemed that Narci was a bold one in both appearance and personality. Either way, she was never one to judge, so she just smiled as he spoke, while also enjoying the perfect evening.

"I agree, and my name is Ghost. It is nice to meet you Narci." She gave a light bow in response, and giggled at how poise he was towards her.

How strange that she had never run into him before, but maybe they just never met at the right times. "Do you usually stroll around at night? I have never seen you around before, well during the day at least." She tilted her head and flicked at her mane. "Such interesting wings.. so wonderful.." Her eyes drifted to them again, and she giggled at her childishness. "Mine only hold my father's dark color, though I am still very proud of them." She fluttered them while turning back to his eyes.

Kamiki
“Nice to meet you, Ghost.” Ghost... how appropriate. “I'm here and there,” he said, his short tail swaying in the slight breeze. “So many of us roam these lands, it takes something special I guess for me to stop and notice,” he gave her that dashing smile again, proud of that one he was.

“They are lovely,” he said, since she brought attention to them, he felt no shame letting his eyes linger of them, and the curve of her flanks past them for a moment. Smiling his approval, he found himself saying, “My mother said my wings look just like my fathers, too.” He blinked in surprise at himself...he never talked about his parents. Frowning only momentarily, he seamlessly changed the subject. “And who gave you that wondrous horn?”

Tweekend
Something special, was it? Heh, what an interesting choice of words, though Ghost wasn't the most keen on such wording with meanings. "Well then I am thankful I was able to catch a roamer as yourself." Giving off a playful expression, she giggled at her own reaction. "But I do know what you mean, there are a ton of Soquili everywhere. It is hard to meet just everyone."

She watched him look at her wings, and she kept her warm face at his response. "Thank you, the trait itself is from my mother, she is a beautiful flutter. The horn is from my father, he is a unicorn. Many say it is a strange mix, though I find nothing wrong with carrying important genes that I love from my parents." If there was one thing she would boast about, it was always her family. Nothing made her more proud.

She perked her ears as he mentioned his family, though noticed he didn't seem to want to dwell on the comment. "Well your wings are just lovely, though I am sure I have said that too much already." Once again, she let out a small giggle.

Kamiki
Oooh, he said, corrected, “I see.” He stepped around her, looking at her from all angles. “I've only has the pleasure of meeting a few unicorns. But I've always admired them, how lucky you are to have such an interesting heritage. It suits you, so well.”

Narci didn't want to elaborate on his past, but he hid it well. He let his wings flutter in the dim light, carefully catching the moonbeams at just the right angles to show off the intricacies of his wings' patterns. “You flatter me,” he said, looking not nearly as modest as his words would imply. “But I do thank the forces that be for what I do have. Beauty is why I live. Admiring it in all its forms.” His eyes show up to the stars again, before coming to rest on her after a moment.

Tweekend
She felt compelled to nod her head very elegantly again, it was a remark that made her feel good inside. She wasn't someone who reflected on compliments much, but because Narci was so stunning himself, she was inclined to enjoy his opinion. "Thank you, I am honored." Her face lit up, and she bathed in his words. "You flatter me as well."

"Beauty would be a nice thing to live for, we all have something of course.." She watched him flutter about, and admired his proud stature. She watched his wings spakle, and then she moved her eyes to the stars as well. Hers might have involved a more family ideal, but it was still nice to see another so passionate on a subject.

Her mind was still growing, and yet she still was able to refrain from being judgemental as some were. "So what else do you enjoy, besides beauty of course?" She turned to him, wondering what mysteries the stallion held. She didn't want to be nosey, though she was definitely curious on the subject.

Kamiki
“And what do you you live for?” he asked, eyes narrowing slightly in a predatory way, stepping a hair closer to her in the starlight.

“I enjoy...” he paused momentarily, choosing his words carefully. “anything worth enjoying I suppose. A sweet apple ripe on the branch. A cool wind on a hot summer day. The pleasure of the company of a beautiful mare,” he gave her his pointed look. No use being coy at this point, he had her where he wanted her and she seemed like an intelligent enough mare.

Oh, life had become interesting since Akila had reached adulthood. She was meeting so many new Soquili, and learning so much. So far she hadn't had to worry about what daddy had told her, for she hadn't found any sort of 'love' yet. Maybe in time she would, but for now she was a happy young mare, running with the wind.

Kamiki
Xandir landed on soft grass of the meadow, a branch heavy with sweet berries hanging from his mouth. Ah, spring! Finally he could eat something more than dry grass and tree bark. He wondered where Sequoyah has galloped off to, maybe they could share.

Tossing his mass of pink curls over his back, he headed in the direction of the mountains, keeping his eyes out for flowers or wild strawberries to add to his offerings.

o0 Nel Zelpher 0o
Akila turned her head as she caught a glimpse of something pink out of the corner of her eye, wondering what it could be. As her eyes focused she realized that pink was the wings, mane, and tail of a stallion. Another one? It seemed like she was running into an awful lot of stallions these days...if she wasn't careful, she'd have to worry about what her daddy had warned sooner than she had thought. "Good day!" she called out to the stranger, flicking her tail.

Kamiki
Xandir's ears flicked forward as he heard someone calling. He looked to his left and right, making sure the pretty blue vision flitting towards him was referring to him. “Mrph fay,” he said around the branch in his mouth when he realized he was the only other around. His ears lowered in a bit of embarrassment as he lowered his head and dropped his berries, looking back up as she was coming closer. “Good day,” he said this time, offering her a smile.

The Omen
Xandir and Sequoyah find a new member of their family.

For the fifth time in an hour, Xandir had to quickly spread his pink wings to catch a puff of updraft, saving him from a terrible fall as his hoof slid off a piece of unstable rock on the mountainside. He quickly recovered, hoping his friend didn't notice his blunder, despite the sound of loose rock tumbling down.

But the ground horse ahead of him tossed his mane and looked over his shoulder. "You okay?" Sequoyah asked, slowing down momentarily.
"I'm fine," Xandir squeaked through a fake smile that was little more than a baring his teeth. The wind Soquili had no idea how his grounded companion was able to do it: scale up the hard mountain terrains with so little effort.

While the mechanics of it boggled him, Xandir knew why he was so adept at the mountain climbing - he was raised by a Wind Soquili like himself. It couldn't have been easy, his mother Stormwild was not close with his grounded father, so she raised her little grounded boy all by her lonesome in her teepee up the side of the mountains. Xandir supposed it was pretty impressive, being able to so gracefully navigate the rocks... not something easy to do with hooves.

Thankfully the terrain started to level out a bit as they reached around the easternmost side, where the slope was less dramatic and the foliage was thicker and green. It was peaceful up here, away from the crowded fields and forests in the main Lands below. It was one of Sequoyah's favorite spots, and as long as Xandir was up here alone with him, he figured it was well worth the trek.

Sequoyah rubbed his rump against a towering pine tree, relieving an itch and sore muscle from the long walk through the mountain trails. Xandir took a deep breath of the fresh air and shook out his curls, relieved that he finally found a little shade. The main Soquili Lands had been overly opulent lately Xandir had been noticing, new Soquili arriving nearly everyday from all corners of the world it seemed. Xandir was friendly enough, he had no qualms about meeting new friends, but lately, much to his dismay, Sequoyah's attention has been peaked by several of the young mares now in great abundance in the Lands. Thankfully Sequoyah was shy and untrusting of them, but the fact that he seemed so interested did little to ease Xandir's heart or mind.

Sequoyah has laid down by his tree now, nibbling on some of the grass nearby. Xandir went to join him, laying close to his friend and flicking the crawling mountain insects off his coat with his tail. A crow began to caw a few trees over, its ominous voice giving the secluded cove a creepy feel.
"I think..." Seqouyah started, not looking directly at his friend, "I should trying to talk to some mares..."

Xandir's expression immediately soured, his ears shooting up and jutting dangerously forward. "Why? I thought you were... shy?" Terrified was the more correct word, but he tried not to let his agitation slip into his voice too much.

The silver stallion rolled his shoulders. "All the baskets and foals around recently... have you seen them, Xandir? They're beautiful. I...I think I would like to be a father." He pawed at the ground with his front hoof, avoiding eye contract.

Xandir gave a derisive snort, completely unaware that he was already a father himself. "There's nothing wrong with wanting to be a father, I guess..." he looked over the woods, the crow in the tree still cawing his haunting song. "But its just not that easy for us stallions, you know? Unlike mares, we can't just go out and...and... you know, and then we have baskets. It gets complicated!"

"That's my point," said Sequoyah defensively. "If I ever want to be a father, maybe I should start seeing if maybe, I dunno, I click with a mare or something."

Xandir's ears flattened against his head. "Fine, well, you know how I feel about that." He snorted and turned his snout upwards.

Sequoyah sighed and shook his head. "If... and that's a bif if, I dunno, I found a mare I liked, it wouldn't mean I would be any less of...what I am to you." Even Sequoyah didn't really know what him and Xandir more. It was a weird grey area between best friends and mates he supposed, but he knew they could never really be real mates. That just wasn't something stallions did. At least no stallions he knew. Balrog would have his hide if he knew he even thought such things. He felt his ears go hot in a flush at that train of thought and shifted in the uncomfortable silence.

There was silence because Xandir didn't immediately respond. He was being huffy, but then something caught his eye. The crow they had heard was sitting in a low hanging branch, a few pieces of jet black hair in his beak. No, not hair... it looked like pieces of horse mane. The crow ruffles his feathers then flew off, and as Xandir watched him go, his gaze came across a large circle of buzzards off around the lower part of the mountain, quickly closing in on their next meal.

Sequoyah finally mustered up the courage to look back and Xandir and noticed his expression. He followed where he was looking and saw the buzzards, too. "They're close... you think everything's okay?" he asked softly.

Xandir slowly got up. "Let's check it out, someone could be hurt."

Sequoyah raised to his feet as well as he nodded.

The two made their way down the east side of the mountain, going slowly as not to startle anyone. There was an ominous feeling in the air as they got closer to the ring of buzzards, the crows getting thicker as well and cawing mercilessly in the boughs above their heads. The air was thick with an ominous presence, and they stayed so close to each other their bodies were basically pressed against one another. Sequoyah saw the blood first, jumping back with a bit of a startle and whinny.

There was a clearing, wrought with blood and feathers. Rainbow, large Soquili feathers that obviously belonged to a Wind were scattered everywhere... some blowing in the breeze, others sticky and heavy with crimson blood. In a swallow next, a brilliantly colored basket was ripped open, enchanted wicker pieces scattered about like straw.

"My gods..." Sequoyah breathed. "What happened?"
Xandir stood there with his jaw slack for a moment, until he looked down at his hooves. "Wolves," he stated pointing to a trail of bloody pawprints leading back out into the woods.

Sequoyah came over to examine them. "No, too big. I've never seen wolves that big. Not to take out a full grown Wind mare and her baby."

The only other answer struck them both at the same time and they exchanged nervous glances. As if saying it would make it real, they stood in silence before Xandir finally whispered, "... Skinwalker?"

Sequoyah swallowed. "It had to be."

They were obviously too late as they looked over the grisly scene. Sequoyah bowed his head in respect, and Xandir followed his lead. But after a moment of silence, he looked back up, his ear's twitching. There was something he was missing. He gave a glace towards Sequoyah then took a few cautious steps into the clearing, towards the homespun nest nestled by a pile of boulders.

Sequoyah sensed the movement and looked up. "What are you doing?" he whispered in a harsh silence. "We should leave, what if its coming back?"

"There's nothing left to take," Xandir said as he approached the next, peering in, "Unless...." His intuition was right. Slightly scraped up and pushed over on its side was a second basket, but otherwise looked relatively unharmed. Xandir gently took the basket by its top weaved and gingerly pulled it out, righting on the ground by his feet.

"Another basket? Its it still sealed?" He was aghast.

Xandir nodded and gave a slight smile. "I think so.. looks bit beat up, but its heavy, and warm."

"What are...what do we do with it?"

Xandir's eyes sparkled as he looked between the basket at his friend. The crow few low overhead, cawing. "Don't you see? Its an omen! It’s a sign, Sequoyah!"

The silver stallion took a step back. "What do you mean?"

"Don't you see? You were just talking about wanting to be a father! We were meant to find this basket!"

It clicked and Sequoyah's jaw dropped this time. 'You mean you think we should... keep it?

"Of course we should!"

"You can't just... keep a basket you find laying around!?"

Xandir looked pointedly around at the feathers and blood around the clearing. "You know what happened to its mother, to its sibling."

Sequoyah swallowed nervously. "What about... its father?"

Xandir frowned. "We can't just leave it here. You said youself, the skinwalker could still be close. Maybe he'll come back, knowing there's a perfectly good foal laying here just waiting to be taken. Even those monsters can only eat so much at a time." He paused for a second. "And... well, if there's a father that comes out, he'll be grateful we saved his child. But I doubt there is."

"Why do you say that?"

Xandir puffed his chest. "Then where was he to protect his family when they needed him?"

Sequoyah rolled his shoulders and kicked the dirt. "Good point."

"Its fate, Sequoyah." Xandir picked up the basket again and brought it closer, placing it at the silver stallion's feet. "Its an orphan. It needs us."

Sequoyah leaned down and nuzzled the basket tentatively. Xandir was right - it was warm and pulsing with a little life inside, he could feel it. He instantly felt himself falling for whatever little colt of filly lay inside. "You really think it was fate?"

Xandir watched the crow with the rainbow mane pieces in his beak blink at him, almost like he was winking. Then with a flutter of jet black feathers, he flew away.

"I'm positive," he said, nuzzling Sequoyah's neck.

Kamiki was laying under a big shade tree, watching the array of Soquili playing in the field before her. There was a rapid influx of foals recently, and mares heavy with their future offspring. She always knew she wanted to be a mother one day, but she wasn't sure if they day would come so soon. She had been spending time...lots of time, actually, with a flirty little flutter named Azure recently, and while they had gotten very close, she had not yet become heavy, not was she sure that was Azure's idea with the relationship anyway.

Her tail flicked in irritation. It wasn't that Azure wasn't a wonderful stallion, if a bit flighty. But he seemed shy about talking about foals. She knew he had foals with another mare some time ago, and she knew enough to know he wasn't very close with his offspring. And yet, Kamiki found herself not...caring. She really didn't need a mate... not a lifemate at least. She didn't even know if she wanted to deal with the sticky politics of a long-term commitment. She was perfectly happy with her casual relationship with Azure, and, well... if she was to get pregnant by him, she wouldn't care either way if he was involved in their raising or not. Not exactly the most conventional way of thinking, but maybe she didn't have the romanticist heart in here that so many of these other mares did.

But at the same time... she wasn't just going to have foal with just any stallion that came her way. She hated to sound vain, but she was and alicorn. She didn't have any problems attracting the eye of every little ground and wind Soquili... And yet... why she knew it would be best to find another handsome alicorn stallion to breed with, she couldn't help but delighted with Azure. Despite his size, she loved everything about the little flutter. He was strong (for his size), colorful, beautiful, independent... all traits that would blend with hers quite well.

She began to daydream about the beautiful little fluttercorns that she one day wanted to have when a glint of sparkle caught her eye. Speak of the devil, Azure was fluttering her way.

"Hello, darling," he said, landing with a Flutter's grace and bowing his head.

"And how are you today?"

Kamiki smiled... he was always showily over-chivarlous. "I'm okay. Been thinking alot."

Azure's smile faded slightly, it was rarely a good sign when a mare had been 'thinking alot.' "Oh?" he said, trying to sound interested as he took his seat by her side. "Everything okay?"

Kamiki nodded and gave him a reassuring smile. "Have you ever thought about having kids again?"

Azure was obviously shocked by the suddeness of the question, but he quickly responded by shrugging one of his shoulders up a notch. "Maybe one day."

"With me?" Kamiki prodded, a small sadistic side of her enjoying watching him squirm.

Azure stuttered, not really know how to answer. "I never really thought about it, I guess."

Kamiki nodded, her expression neutral, almost pleasant. "They would be beautiful, you know." She smiled, and met his gaze, and he couldn't help but return the expression and nod.

"I know, we've talked briefly about our histories, and our plans. I know you're not looking for a stable herd... I know you're not even looking for a stable mate necessarily. At least not for now..."

Azure tried to break in, "Kamiki - its not like I don't -- "
Kamiki stopped him with a stern look. "No, let me finish. What I'm trying to say is... I'm ready to be mother. And I think.. I think you would be a wonderful father. I'm not asking for forever, but if we're going to continue with this relationship, I think you need be aware of my goals. I would like you to be involved when - well, if - if ever happens. But you don't have to pledge yourself to me or me only. As long we continue to be open and honest with each other, I think we could both be happy."

Azure was quiet for several moments, searching her face to see if she was serious about her request. He had no problems with children, and he certainly had to agree that they were a smart match. She was basically giving him an easy out, and that alone made him like her even more.

Finally he nodded, reaching over and nibbling right behind her ear. Kamiki giggled as he did, a weight lifted from her shoulders. It was always better when things were much more in the open, and that alone made her fall just a little farther for him.

Your RP paragraph:

User ImageStormwild rarely left her mountain sanctuary, but curiosity had finally gotten the better of her. Rumors had been pouring in all over the soquili lands about their new friends from the ocean and she had finally decided it was about time to introduce herself. She was walking along the beach, already remembering why she didn't like the place: the sand felt weird and unsteady under her hooves, and the spray of the ocean made her incredibly long mane sticky and tangled.

A sudden screaming broke her from her thoughts as her attention was drawn to a man that was ... half fish. Stormwild was a very old mare, and she had seen her share of crazy things, but this had to have topped the cake. Her mouth hung open as she stopped dead in her tracks. She openly stared for several moments until her brain finally processed what he was screaming about.

She begrudgingly pulled her attention off the man and looked up into the sky where he was flailing and pointing. Those were definitely no normal clamshells the ospreys were toting. She had seen a few of them around her lands before, and she quickly had to take action. She broke off into a full speed run, the sand billowing up around her dramatically and she gained speed on the birds. She gained distance, then when she was only a couple of yard away, she launched herself into the sky, her powerful muscles straining under the force of the jump in the soft, wet sand. Once airborne, she unfolded her wings, catching the steady ocean breeze between her feathers and soaring upwards above the escaping birds. This would be tricky; she couldn't just attack the ospreys for if they dropped the shells they could shatter from the fall. And why it would be easy for her to overpower one of the birds, she had no way to grab both shells...she had one mouth and no hooves. So if she just grabbed one shell, but the time she got it to safety, the other bird would be long gone. Quickly, she made her plan. She began to fly wide circles above them, not unlike a buzzard, flying around them in ever-tighter circles, forcing them closer together and lower to the ground with each pass. She tucked her legs under her, using only her wings when needed to bat and herd the birds in their escape. She knew eventually the birds would realize this prey was not worth the effort, drop the shells at a safer distance, then escape. Without the burden of the shells, an osprey would have no problem out flying a soquili.

Which kelpi shell do you want?: I would be equilly happy with either of them, they're both so pretty! But if I must specify, the Mahi Mahi please.

WINNERS!
There were several wonderful entries but a great deal of people broke the rules and god modded the ospreys. It said to just post your action. If you were RPing that you were battling then you wouldn't god mod your opponent.
Griffen had the birds squawk but we agreed that was understood behavior of birds and they would have done that anyways in the RP whether or not Griffen "modded" that they did.

ELF and I finally came up with our decisions for each shell.

Your Gaia Name: GriffinFire

Characters: Nita (Native American Persona)

Your RP paragraph: Nita jogged along the beach, stopping now and again to stab at a fish idly with her spear. Ostensibly, she was fishing for her dinner, but she wasn't trying particularly hard – she wanted to retain her excuse for staying out near the water. The weather was pleasant, and she was hoping to catch a glimpse of more of the aquatic Soquili, or maybe even more of Ajadi's people.

Just as she bent to inspect a crab scuttling up the beach, Nita heard the cry for help. She looked up in surprise – there was Ajadi himself, gazing desperately upwards and flailing his arms futilely. He did seem to get himself in trouble, didn't he?

She followed his line of sight to the two ospreys, flapping slowly but steadily upwards, each grasping what she recognized as a shell exactly like those she'd seen gifted to a few of the others who had helped Ajadi a few days before. They'd been told young mer-Soquili would emerge from them – but these two were in danger of breaking apart! The empty clamshells littering the beach told her that the ospreys intended to make the Soquili shells their next meal.

A moment of hesitation, then Nita snatched the largest of the shells from the beach and flung it as hard as she could toward the closer of the predatory birds. The shell spun like a throwing disc, but veered far off her mark. "Leave them alone, you great brutes! They're not your food!" Choosing another shell, she tried again, and then once again, but each time she missed by several feet. The ospreys' squawks sounded as if they were mocking her.

Biting her lip in frustration, Nita cast around for something else to try. There were some rocks – but throwing things wasn't working: she was a horrible shot. Then she looked down at the spear she'd dropped when she'd gone for the shells, remembering her errand. Fishing. Fish! That was what ospreys liked, wasn't it? "Aha!" She grabbed up the spear and moved into the surf, for a moment standing perfectly still and intently watching the water for a swimming shadow.

There – one stab – and another – and there were two fish wriggling uselessly on her spear. Gripping the slippery creatures firmly around the middle, she slid both of them off the spear, one in each hand, the weapon falling once again to the sand. Nita straightened and stood as tall as she could. She waved her hands – still full of fish – over her head, trying desperately to catch the birds' attention. "Hey, you, yeah, you two, with the feathers! Don't you want some of this? Tastier than what you've got there, and easier to eat, too!"

Which kelpi shell do you want?: What, I have to choose? I suppose I must… The Wahoo, then. ^-^

Your Gaia Name: Kamiki
Characters: Stormwild
Your RP paragraph:

Stormwild rarely left her mountain sanctuary, but curiosity had finally gotten the better of her.

THE OSPREYS' REACTION

To Nita smile ) The ospreys were attracted to the speared fish so each bird let go of the huge shells in their talons. They weren't very high up so the shells hit the soft sand unharmed. When they landed on the spears that Nita was holding the fish was being pecked at until each bird was able to grab a whole one in their mouth. Satisfied, the ospreys flew away with their new treats.

"Ahhh! Those poor fish!" Ajadi exclaimed as he covered his eyes. Even though the fish now suffered the same fate that the kelpis would of endured, Ajadi was relieved.

"Thank you, human, for getting rid of those blasted creatures. I never seen feathered manta rays before in that color but they could have killed me as well. I want to reward you with the wahoo shell!" he said with a smile.

Ajadi then flopped towards the sea because the sun was drying out his scales. He didn't want to end up unconscious again! "Farewell!" he waved to Nita and then disappeared into the crashing waves.

To Kamiki: THE OSPREYS' REACTION
((lol Stormwild the bird herder! XD))
The shells were now slipping from the ospreys' talons as they tried to get away from the wind soquili that was herding them. Did the soquili need the food they were holding too? Whatever the case, it wasn't worth fighting for these shells when there was an entire ocean filled with fish. They didn't like the smell of those shells anyways since they contained food they weren't familiar with. A large flying fish was spotted in the distance so the birds dropped the shells onto the soft beach and raced towards it.

"You saved the day, winged creature!" Ajadi said with a big toothy grin. The shells were now safe from the hungry feathered manta rays at last.

"I would like to give you the mahi-mahi shell as a thank you for saving the day!" he said as he held the shell out to the horse. He wasn't sure how the horse would take the shell home but maybe an owner would arrive soon to take care of them both.

Ajadi then flopped towards the sea because the sun was drying out his scales. He didn't want to end up unconscious again! "Farewell!" he waved to Stormwild and then disappeared into the crashing waves.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Stormwild was left in shock, the weird fish man disappearing into the ocean. She looked down at the beautiful shell at her feet. What was inside? One of those baby fish like soquili she had seen only glimpses of? What did she do with it? She couldn't just take it back to her tepee...could she? There was a mountain river near her home... but could it survive outside the salted water of the ocean?

By this time, Little Thunder had caught up to her, his tail twitching excitedly as he sniffed the colorful shell nestled in the sand. It looked up to his companion and cocked his head, wondering what he should do.

Stormwild flicked back her ears and looked longingly at the mountain in the distance. As much as she would love to go home, she had been charged with a new responsibility. A warm, motherly glow came over her whole body the longer she looked at the shell. It had been any seasons since she had any foals of her own, and her children were all grown and beginning to start families of their own. Maybe she could make this work. She would ask around more about these fish-horses, see if she could raise him in her mountain river. But in the mean time, it wasn't worth the risk. She looked down to Little Thunder.

"Go back and tell Kamiki what as happened. I have to stay here."

The fox nodded and scampered away to deliver his message.

Stormwild picked up the shell carefully and found a quiet seacove. She stashed the shell in the shallow lagoon. The water was low enough that even when she lay down in the water herself, her head was above the waterline and could easily rest on the rocky outcroppings. She would stay here until the morning, or until Kamiki came to take watch.
