A million things could have happened at that moment. Jay could have corrected Cael and made sure he knew Delmor was a boring place, or maybe Cait could have complained a little more about BAND performing at the prom. Either one could have spawned a discussion about the Prom itself, followed by chit-chat about their dress construction or who they were taking to prom. All of these options would have left Cael sitting between two very chatty girls without much time to give his input. They were, after all, teenage girls, no matter how much they tried to separate themselves from the idiocy of their peers. Instead, time seemed to halt itself in its tracks for a few moments, as if some great tragedy were unfolding somewhere putting the lives of the witnesses on hold for a while. In the space this created, an adorable flying creature flew in front of the table where the three teens were seated. However, this was not what Cait and Jay saw. Instead they watched Cael put his head on the table in the dark club and an adorable kitten landed on top of the boys head and begin playing with his hair and meowing or purring something that sounded oddly like "Cae-kun" over the sound of the recorded music that was playing at the end of BAND's set. Simultaneously both Cait and Jay let out an "AWWWWWW!" and squealed. Girls are suckers for cute baby animals, after all. Cait immediate stretched out her hand to give the yellow kitten a rub on the head, completely ignoring the fact that it shouldn't have been inside the club. It was so adorable that Cait could just......... Fall asleep. In no time at all, Cait could feel her eyelids getting heavier and before anyone could ask if she was alright she was asleep on Cael's shoulder.

Kero came to a landing on Cael's head, pulling his hair continually calling "Cae-kun Cae-kun." Cael groaned as the two girls AWWWWWW!ed rather loudly at the annoying fuzz ball they apparently found cute. Cael was about to violently shake Kero off of him when Cait passed out on his shoulder. Cael was a bit surprised by this, not really sure what to make of it. Jay pulled Kero off Cael's head allowing Cael to gently lift Cait off of him. He sat up straight and slowly lowered Cait so that she could lie across his lap. Cait was rather cute, even if she was drolling a little in her sleep, and Cael was rather confused by what he was feeling but more so about how to act. He had just met the girl. He figured he'd just make sure that Cait was ok when she woke up. Turning to Jay he asked soflty, but load enough to hear over the people that were left in the club, "She just fell asleep. Has this happened before?"

Jay happily took the cat into her lap and started scratching its head absent mindedly as she took to answering Cael's question. "Haha, most people assume that she's passed out, so you get brownie points for noticing the difference. Cait has narcolepsy, but of a particular type that if she feels any intense emotion she falls asleep. So, I guess she thinks this kitten is really cute. Just let her wake up on her own." Jay kept petting the kitten for a few moments, not sure what to ask Cael, but couldn't help herself asking about prom, "So, now you've gotten a taste of the band playing at prom. Do you have a date yet?"

Prom? Cael's mother kept pestering him about prom. She thought that Cael should go to the prom, even made him a tux herself, she thought he could meet people there. But he didn't have a date, even though there was a girl asleep in his lap. Cael looked down at Cait and brushed the hair out of her face. Blushing he said, "Um.. no. No I don't. My mom's pushing me to go but I haven't really gotten to know anyone here yet. I do have a tux though. But I wont be going to see band, I want to meet more people."

Secretly "AWWW"ing quietly to herself after seeing Cael brush the hair out of Cait's face, Jay went back to scratching the furball's head. A plot was beginning to work itself out in her head. She had a boyfriend who was taking her to prom, and she and Cait had successfully avoided the simple fact that Cait would need to find a date as well to get into prom. Regardless of how dumb the rule was, security would probably be crazy at prom with BAND there, there would be no way of sneaking in. And here was a boy. One who didn't have a date, who Cait had just happened to fall asleep on, and who was tenderly brushing the hair out of her face. And he already had a tux. It was perfect. Jay sighed sympathetically, "Yeah, Cait doesn't have a date yet either. It's such a pity that dates are required... She knows so many people but they are all already coupled up. I'd hate to think of her stuck at home on prom night, but I don't know what else to do...She's too shy to ask anyone on her own." Jay jumped a little and pulled her cell phone out, making sure to hit the button on the side so the screen would light up, "I'm sorry, my boy friend is calling me. I've got to go. Just let Cait wake up on her own, she'll be fine. I'll take the cat out with me.' Jay picked up the cat in one arm and carried it out as it wiggled a bit in her arms. She "answered" her phone, "Hon?.....Yeah, I'll be out in a minute...Love you too..."

Cael raised an eyebrow at Jay as she got up to leave though she didn't see as she walked away. Jay's words were not as cunningly disguised as she might have thought. On the other hand that might have been the point. Cael looked back down at Cait. She was pretty. But what if their outfit's didn't match? What if she didn't like him? Would it matter? A million questions ran through Cael's mind. He always got easily stressed over this sort of thing. It's not like having Serenity as a best friend had helped with his nervousness. 'I wish Serenity were here now, she would know what to do,' he thought. The only think left to do was wait until Cait woke up. Until then, Cael figured he would spend the rest of his time over thinking every possible way of asking her to the prom.

Cait stirred in her sleep and nuzzled into the fabric that pressed against her face. It was warm, and had been a good place to take a nap. Her eyes fluttered open and she saw the figured of people dancing. She sat up with a start. "Oh dear... I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to.... Ummm..." Cait pushed the hair out of her face, "Where's Jay?" Cait bit her lip and looked down, this was certainly an awkward situation, she'd only just met Cael... And now she'd just woken up in his lap. Fun. She was probably worse than the date he'd been running away from.

Cael was startled when Cait jumped out of his lap but he was quite relieved that she was looking as nervous as he felt, and she hadn't even heard Jay's plan. Cael tried to smile warmly as he spoke but didn't feel like he was master of the expression. "Apology accepted, I'm just glad you're ok. Jay got a call from her boyfriend. She stepped outside but she didn't say whether or not she would be back." Cait still looked nervous, maybe she just needed to get out of here. "Do you wanna step outside and get some fresh air?"

"Umm....Uhhh....Haha, Sure... Fresh air sounds great. Should probably see if I can find Jay anyway..." Cait's phone rang in her pocket to let her know she had a text: "Had to leave w/ bf. ask Cael to walk u home? sorry i had to split." Cait sighed. "I guess she had to go. Where do you live? I guess we could walk home together." Cait ran her fingers through her hair to fan it out a little as the cool air from the outside hit her. It had been much hotter in the club than she thought, and she probably looked like a mess. Even though it was night in Delmor, it was ironically brighter outside than it had been inside and it was nice to see the boy's face. He was a nice enough guy, and new in town, so Cait would have to introduce him to her friends in school on Monday. Maybe they even had some classes together? Anything was better than watching him fall into the typical sheephood of following Rowena around... Hopefully with her out of school things would be different, but her "followers" were still around, and they still hated Jay and Cait.

Cael nodded, shouldered his bag and got up from the booth. As he and Cait walked towards the door he answered her questions. "I don't live too far away, above the shop that my mother owns on South Main Street, Little Threads. It's close enough to town that she does good business but far enough away that we're not caught up in the middle of things." They walked along the street through the cool night air. In between the sideways glances, Cael kept his eyes mostly on his feet for fear of letting them wander too far, he was a teenage boy after all. Cait still seemed alittle nervous, maybe fussing about her hair. He hoped that Jay knew what she was doing with her plan but wasn't quite sure how to bring prom up. He decided on starting with, "Does Jay run off alot like this with her boyfriend, leaving you alone?"

"Well, it appears you're all out of questions. If you think of any more, feel free to call me." Danielle produced a pair of business cards, handing one to Cross and one to Kailey. "If you want an autograph, I could get you one right now. But if you wait and call that number, I'm pretty sure you'd wind up getting a tour of our manor and an autograph. Brandon will just want to know if you're 'hawt,' and I'll vouch for you." Danielle walked towards the exit, then paused and turned back to Kailey. "I don't mean I'll vouch that you're hot, I just mean vouch that's you're okay." She made to the door before pausing again and calling back, "Not that you're okay looking, that you're okay to come over... Oh, whatever. Just give us a call." Out in front of the PU, Danielle hopped into a van where the other B.A.N.D. members were waiting. Once she was in, it sped off towards the Seaside Manor.

It was true, James Cross had suddenly zoned out after Danielle had answered his questions. He had heard what she had told him, but for some reason he did not trust this girl. There was just something about her. When his mind finally wandered back to his body, Danielle had taken off. James cursed himself. 'Great police skills Cross!' James thought to himself. He then looked at the blond girl known as Kailey and waved. It had officially become akward and James had stayed his welcome at the PU long enough. It looked like him and Kailey were the only one's there. "Bye." James said to Kailey and then walked outside using the side exit door.
The side exit door took Jame out into a deserted alleyway which would have been pitch black if it were not for the moonlight that shone through the cracks of the top of the buildings above. James started walking down the alleyway towards the main street where Laura was parked. No doubt she had grown tired of waiting. He continued his way until he heard a hard crunch a couple feet behind him. James Cross turned around quickly, ready to pounce, but nobody was there. He could've sworn he had heard someone walking behind him.
"Weird." James said to himself and then turned around and continued walking towards the main street.
"Tsk, tsk James Cross. You are boring me with your petty human duties." A voice rang out behind James Cross right before he was out of the alleyway. He knew someone had been watching him. The scary part though was that he reconized the voice. James slowly turned around and saw that it was who he had expected. He was looking at Mr. Wyong.

It was then that Mythos appeared on the PU rooftop. He had been given the mission to take down Cross by the Mastermind and after he had failed miserably to take down Cross before, he would not fail this time. To the Mastermind, failing twice meant termination, most people weren't able to even fail him once. Mythos took in a nice long breath and then slowly walked to the edge of the rooftop of the PU and down in a small little alleyway. It was there Mythos saw James Cross and another man. Mythos cocked his head and examined Cross. Cross seemed to be terrified of the man. In Mythos's eyes the man didn't look that scary, but that meant nothing. Mythos had a job to do and that man was in his way. Anger flashed through all of Mythos's being and he had to close his eyes amd take in some more deep breaths before he was finally able to calm down. Emotions could not get in the way for this mission because emotions could get Mythos killed. ............................................................................................................................................................................................ James Cross couldn't believe his eyes. Even thoug Mr. Wyong was standing in front of him, James Cross had always wished that Wyong was a figment of his imagination. After all, the last time James Cross had seen Mr. Wyong, it was at the bottom of an underwater lair and Wyong's assistant, Spaldwin, had transported Cross back to the surface. Supposedly Wyong had injected James Cross with a virus that had spread throughout his entire body and created an extra, almost indestructable skin under his own, but James had yet to experience any symtoms of these great powers Wyong had given him. After everything that had been gonig on in his life, he had almost forgotten that all of this had happened to him. 'Wow.' James thought. 'My life is one screwed up mess!' "You disappoint me Cross." Wyong continued. "I gave you these powers as a gift. You were dying on the side of the road and I saved you and gave you these great powers that you have yet to use. What are you thinking? You are better than this!" James Cross looked at Mr. Wyong with disgust. It was because of this man that Cross was no longer enrolled at the Police Academy, learning how to be an official cop. "Why are you following me Wyong? Why? Leave me alone!" Mr. Wyong smiled and then said, "I will Cross, but I have waited long enough. I thought being a cop you would run into some situations that would test out your ability. I guess I was wrong. Spaldwin!" Suddenly, out of nowhere, a black man with a hat almost covering the front of his face appeared instantly; like he had came out of thin air; with what appeared to be a rocket launcher in his hands. Spaldwin smiled and nodded at James Cross and then pointed to a rundown set of apartments that rested across the street from the PU. "Now it is time to see what you are made of Cross." Mr. Wyong said as he gestured to Spaldwin, whom then fired the rocket launcher straight at the group of clustered apartments.
