The food, water and rest had done wonders for Kira, and this wasn't nearly as peppy as she normally was. Hard for most people to believe that possible, but she could go on for hours, being an early riser and a very late night owl.
"Don't dis cold pizza, it makes great breakfast!" She giggled a little. "Will you show me to the exercise yard placy thing?"

"You want to go now?" he asked, frowning. "Are you sure you're up to it? We can always wait until tomorrow if you need to rest." To be honest, Hayden was starting to wonder if he could even keep up with Kira when she was healthy. He could barely do so when she was weak and injuried!
"I'll leave the decision up to you, but remember: I will not be happy if you pass out on me again. I will be quite happy to carry you back to your room and ignore all doorframes and wall corners this time around, too," he teased, referencing their discussion about brain damage earlier with a devious smirk.

Kira looked up at Hayden. She could hear in his voice his worry. "Alright, we'll go tomorrow." She smiled up at him. "Thank you for showing me to where the caf is, Hayden." Her tone was sweet, and she took in a deep breath, closing her eyes as she held back a yawn. She was still tired, and it was catching up again.
She laughed at the brain damage reference. "Well, at least I don't have to worry about them jumping out at me! Parked cars, however, they're the really dangerous ones. You'll never know when you're walking by when if it'll just slam into your legs."

Hayden sighed with obvious relief. He made no attempt to hide it and turned to grin at Kira. "Good idea. And you're welcome, Kira. It was my pleasure."
Figuring this meant they were done for the day, he turned from the cafeteria and started leading her back to her room. "Yes, you really have to watch those stationary objects," he nodded sagely, his voice serious and calm. "In addition to the parked cars, you should keep a wary eye on tables too, especially the low-lying coffee table types. They're shin-killers." It took everything Hayden had not to crack a smile.

Kira took a deep breath again, this time to prevent her from laughing hard. Continuing on with the current joke, she looked up to him. "Oh, but the most dangerous of all inanimate objects are cable cords. There's no telling when they'll suddenly trip you and you go crashing to the carpeting and get one nasty rug burn."

"Oh, of course. They rise up and coil around your legs like hungry Arboks, suddenly tightening and tripping you up. Be careful once you hit the ground...that's when they really attack." He nodded, biting his cheek to keep from laughing.
His eyes continued scanning the numbers on the doors as they walked, eventually reaching Kira's room again. He paused outside with a smirk. "Well, here we are again, safe and sound. No fainting spells or anything. Is there anything I can do for you or would you rather get some rest?"

Kira finally burst out laughing, tears rolling down her cheeks as he played off of her comeback. "You're good!" She grinned to him.
Once they had reached her room, she smiled apologetically. "I know you said to use the intercom, but would you please grab me some clothes? Something to sleep in would be nice too..."

"Yes, I know," he responded automatically with a grin. It really felt good to relax for once. The other guards and scientists be damned. He didn't care if anyone was watching or not. Technically, he was still doing his job, so what problem could they possibly have other than the fact that he was enjoying himself while doing it?
"Alright, I suppose I could," he hesitated, trying to think where he could possibly find anything like that. "Let's get you back into your room and out of this cold hallway first, okay? I'd rather you be settled back in bed before I go." He guided her back inside, making sure she was set before he turned back to the door. "I'll be right back with some basics. Hold on just a second, 'k?" With that, he was gone, the door closing automatically behind him.

Kira giggled, sitting up in her bed, leaning her back against the wall. There was a definite change in Hayden. He seemed a little more truer now, a bit more relaxed. She liked this side of Hayden, he was, in general so much fun and so kind.
Sighing, she lifted her hand up, staring at it in the light. She was alive, after everything that had happened, she was alive and in pretty good health. She was still recovering a bit from being exposed to the elements, but she figured that she'd be up and about for sure the next morning, and then she'd make sure that she spoke to the doctor who had treated her. She would prove to him that she was ready and fit enough to go home, she had to.

Hayden's eyes darted back and forth, scanning the hallway to make sure it was abandoned before slipping into the supply room. He'd snuck a few things out of here before for himself, and while there was nothing wrong with grabbing some things for one of the 'guests,' that feeling of wrongdoing still lingered.
Okay, the toothpaste and other toiletry items were easy. The clothes could be trickier. At least for poor clueless Hayden. He eyed the stock of spare clothing, looking helpless. He really should have asked Kira for more specifics...like what she wanted...and what size she wore.
He'd have to guess.
This could be ugly.
After a few minutes of sorting through the various clothes, he grabbed a few things that he felt looked like they would fit Kira, then slipped out of the supply room and locked it behind him.
He knocked on Kira's door before opening it, hoping not to startle her if she had started to drift off to sleep. "Sorry that took so long...I hope I got everything," he said, spreading out the items on the edge of the bed.

Kira smiled sleepily, snuggling into the pillow. "Thanks Hayden. I can't wait to see the rest tomorrow....." Her voice was heavy with sleep and she curled up a bit in the covers. "You're.... the best Hayden..." SHe murmured sleepily, looking at him from between the pillow and sheets, a small smile on her face.

"Heh, I don't know about 'the best,'" he chuckled softly, shaking his head.
'Not hardly. More like the worst, lying, scheming, back-stabbing...'
"We can argue that point tomorrow, though. Sleep well, Kira." Hayden smiled warmly, feeling just a moment of genuine tranquility. Patting her shoulder gently, he turned to go. "See you tomorrow," he murmured, slipping quietly through the door once more. He heard it click shut and lock behind him as he made his way down the hall towards his own room.
Maybe...just maybe...he'd make it out of this place one day. He had to hang on to that thought with all his strength. It was all he had.

Alright, I was finally able to get a pen and booklet to keep for a journal, and I guess I'll start off with what's been happening. After Hayden, one of the security gaurds who works here, saved me from the elements, I was given a room to stay in while I recovered. I met a few new friends here, a nice girl named Diana, and a shy almost skittish boy named Shawn. I was also able o meet with one of the doctors here.
I was out in the hall way after being kicked out of my room for fumigation because of the chalk dust in there. Er, let me explain a bit first, the chalk dust in there was because I had gotten my hands on some side walk chalk and the walls are just so plain in there, so I started to draw to make it more colorful. Apparently the dust got into the vents and someone started having dificulty breathing in a different room because of it... So I moved my chalk and me out into the hallway where all one had to do was put a giant fan on one side and turn it on to get rid of the dust.
Anyways, while I was working on the walls and ground, when this older looking man, probably in his 40s to 50s, come through the big doors that are always locked at the end of the hallway. Well, in short, he seemed a bit upset at my artwork, but I did get a chance to talk to him about seeing if I was on the clear to be let home. While he didn't work on my specifically, he told me he would talk to the doctor that had. He seems really rough around the edges, but I think he's nice beneath such a cold exterior. I feel bad that I had an episode though, apparently the cruise fiasco completely put all those therapy hours down the toilet and my phobia is back in full force.
