Shawn sighed as he pushed open the door that led out to the Exercise Field. He hated it out there since the fence surrounding the area reminded him that he was being held prisoner, but then the whole facility just made him sick. He'd taken a trip outside because if he hadn't, he just very well might have gone insane from the spotless white interior of the sterile building. Besides, it was freezing inside. He shuddered.
The rebellious young teenager had soon lost hope of escaping over the fences. The sight of the guard's pokeballs were enough to keep him in check. The thought of the pokemon in them being set free were more than enough to give Shawn nightmares for weeks on end. He hadn't been getting much sleep lately because of it. The wild, rampaging gyrados that had attack him in the halls just a few weeks earlier was still fresh in his mind. He had been positive he was about to die then. But Sam had saved him.
He hadn't seen her in a while either. Last they'd spoken, she'd gone to check on her uncle and give him a good talking to. He wondered secretly what became of the two.
Shawn's stomach rumbled loudly. He was used to it, though. There wasnt much he got to eat on the streets, and he refused to eat anything in the cafeteria of this so called 'hospital'. They had already done something to him and the patients here through the injections. But what?

Kira walked out, stretching, in a tank top and a pair of shorts and sandals. She had never noticed how cold it was inside until the warm air hit her skin and cause it to prickle. After the events that took place a few days ago with her new found friend and the food fight, she had decided to lay low for the rest of the day and never had the chance to go outside.
Outside, a wonderful place, with fresh air and areas to run around in.... Then something caught her eye and cause her to frown a bit. Why was the area not only fenced in, but guards walking around? It made the area seem less like a hospital and more like a psych-ward. She then spotted another teenager, a boy, and smiled brightly, walking up to him.
"Hi!" She greeted him cheerfully. "I'm Kira. What's your name?"

"Get on out there, ya little-OW!! You blasted-ARGH!!!"
A guard yeowled in in pain as Dianas' sharp nails left scratches on his forearms. He had just been following orders; who would have known that this....girl...would have turned into murder-death-kill mood she was in right now?! His orders were simple:
Take the girl out into the exercise yard......
NOT!
With a final heave, the guard shoved Diana outside and managed to close the door just as she reached the walkway. Loud bangs and curses echoed down the somewhat-empty hallways of the lab as he returned him to his post....

Diana was foaming at the mouth with rage. First, she had gone back to her room for a nap, right? I mean...come on; she had been up all night!! Next thing she knew, some dude had grabbed her from the cot and dragged her down the hallway...apparently, she was suppose to go outside! Damn, she didn't want to go outside! SHE WANTED A NAP!
Banging at the now-closed door, she hollared at the dude inside:
"HEY! YOU BETTER GET BACK HERE! If you don't...ohohoho! You better not find yourself in a dark room all alone! I"M GOING TO REMEMBER THIS!!!!!!"

((Sorry I took so long...watched a movie. sweatdrop ))
The boy jumped as a femlae voice called out to him. Instantly he sprang to his feet, though as he turned he realized the young lady wasn't with the Cronus staff. He sighed.
"Hey," he mumbled half-heartedly. "I'm Shawn. Are you..." he hesitated, regarding her closely. "Are you sure you should be out here, Kira? I mean, you aren't needed elsewhere - ? " he wasn't sure what had brought this patient to the isle in the middle of nowhere, but it hardly seemed to matter. He didn't think it likely she was going to escape soon. There would be plenty of time to ask her later.
He looked up again, startled as a voice yelled in fury and pain. A girl about his age was attacking a guard. He winced, having learned all too well the wrath of the female species since he arrived on the island. However, in the end, the guard won out and the girl was tossed into the yard. Shawn shook his head and reluctantly approached the raging tenn as close as he dared get.
"Er...I'm not sure he can hear you," Shawn told her quietly, attempting to hide his subtle amusement. She reminded him of himself when he had first been locked in his room. But this one didn't want out - she wanted in.

Kira smiled to Shawn and shrugged her shoulders. "I should be at home with my mother and grandmother getting ready to go back to college next month. But that's obviously not happening right now, eh?"
Her attention was turned to the teenager that Shawn was looking to and her face brightened. "DIANA!" She ran forward and hugged her partner in crime, giggling. "How are you!"

Anger blazing on the highest levels, Diana spun around at the newcomers voice and was about to punch the living daylights out of whomever it was when........
"DIANA!"
A familar body slammed into her, sending them backwards a few steps. Her fire cooled down at the sight of her best friend; hugging her, she grinned at Kira. "Ola Kira! How is ya?"
Turning towards the dark-haired guy staring at them, she grinned and held out a hand in greeting:
"Sorry about that.......Name's Diana, and you are?"

He smiled grimly at Kira's reply, even as she recognized Diana and embraced her friend. Just another ordinary girl caught up in this mess like the rest of them.
At least they had each other though. He watched them with something like a mix of happiness and envy. Perhaps because of that it would make it easier to get through this. He wondered how much the girls knew about Cronus. It also brought his thoughts to his one and only friend back in Goldenrod, where the two used to play together...it was selfish to wish Flare had been trapped on this island with him.
Shawn flinched, recognizing the stance Diana was taking to punch him. However, she never made contact. As Kira bombarded her, she seemed to soften, and when she next turned to face him, she wore a brilliant grin. The change was remarkable.
"D-don't worry about it," he replied shakily, holding his hands up in surrender. "I get that a lot. I know how to take a hit. But, uh...thanks for stopping her anyway, Kira." With a bitter smile, he returned the hand-shake. "Name's Shawn Darrow. Good to meet you ladies."

Kira had climbed up onto Diana's back, giggling. Everything about how strange the exercise yard and how the guards seemed to make it feel more like a psych ward was blown from her mind as she giggled. "What'd you get kicked out for, Diana? Did you go through another lounge area and trash it again?"
She turned her bright smile to Shawn when he introduced himself. "It's a pleasure to meet you to, Shawn! Where are you from, and how'd you get here? This hospital took me in when I got lost at sea and ended up on the beach with heat stroke." She tried her best not to let her phobia make it's appearance as a few suppressed flashbacks happened, and subconsciously, she gripped Diana's shoulder as it happened.

"OOF! HEY!"
She stumbled a bit under Kiras' weight before straightening back up. Grinning at her friends' comment, Diana spun around in circles while avoiding anyone or anything in the way.
"Who? ME?! Kira, how could you say such a thing about moi?" Laughing, she bounced up and down a few times. "I actually didn't do anything wrong this time; I was just settling down for a nap in my room when that guard dude marched in and ordered me outside. And, as you can see, I left him a couple of farewell gifts!"
As she listened to Kira greet this Shawn dude, she noticed her stiffen a bit when she told of her arrival. Diana knew about her friends' phobia and swore to never reveal to anyone.
Reaching over, Diana gripped Kiras' hand and gave it a gentle squeeze before turing her attention back to Shawn.
"Howdy partner.....and how did one such as yourself get on this fine plot of land?"

"Me...? I, uh..."
The boy stared at the two girls for a moment, dumbstruck. He hadn't expected them to ask about him. Didn't they have enough things to talk abotu amoungst themselves? His face reddened as he recalled just what exactly what brought him to share the girls' fate. He would have asked them the same thing, but it would be rude if he didn't answer them first. There seemed more to Kira's story than what little she revealed.
"Er, actually I'm from the Johto region. Goldenrod City," he added, looking very uneasy. "Not that I miss it much, but...it's the only home I've ever known. I've never really been too far away, so being stuck on this island is like being stuck on a whole 'nother planet for me." He shrugged in embarressment, scratching the back of his neck. "Unh...as for how I got here...you don't really want to know." Not wanting them to be suspicious, he added with a small laugh, "It's really stupid. You'll think of me as an idiot if I tell you. Not that I'm not, but...at least I don't have to ruin my reputation before you get to know me, right?"
Smiling at the girls' playful banter, he inclined his head curiously and crossed his hands over his chest. "So...Kira, that sounded like a pretty serious accident. How did they find you?" He flashed a look at Diana out the corner of his eye. "And don't think I forgot about you...you're next."

Kira, after giving Diana an appreciative glance for her comfert and squeezing her hand back, grinned and nudged Shawn. "Ohhh please tell us! Can't be more embarassing than what I've gone through, trust me. Besides, it'll be something that we can all sit back later and laugh at."
She then shrugged when it was asked how she was found. "I was lucky, Hayden was out on the beach and saw me. I'll have to admit, I was scared at first, thinking I was in trouble, but he honestly saved my life. I owe him big for that."

"HEY! Heyheyheyhey! Don't make yerself upset! It's not worth, even if someone does want to know!"
She cast a glare at the black-haired kid in front of her and Kira. If this guy was going to upset Kira...well, she would make sure that he would stars and a lot of them!
When he glanced at her, Diana cast his a look that said: "What? I don't know nothin'!" She grinned a bit at the memories. "My story is...interesting. That's saying it mildly."

Kira sweatdroped. "I-I'm fine, Diana, really...." She took a deep breath, then sighed, closing her eyes tightly. "I suddenly don't feel well though. Shawn, it was wonderful meeting you. Diana, I'll see you later, m'kay?" Her head was suddenly throbbing, and her stomach was churning a bit.
'Great, it's probably a migrain.... It'll go away if I lay down for a while...' She thought to herself as she waved good bye to her two friends, making her way carefully back to her room, and laying down on her bed.
