Meninx, Squire of Mars
    (Standing next to Antisana)

Antisana exuded the discontent Meninx was trying very hard to suffocate, and maybe it was just natural to drift towards that, like he could funnel his foul nature through the Pluto Squire.

Solitary by nature, Meninx had not reached out to anyone when he noticed some anomalies. He thought it might just be some Knightly hiccup. Except, things stayed off, for a week. Even when he was unpowered he felt like something was amiss, and his nerves were already frayed enough from work and his daily life that this was not helping.

He’d heeded the summoning, but after a few minutes of standing around and eavesdropping he still felt as if he were no closer to understanding what was going on here.

Meninx was not shy. His job demanded he be bold and willing to make connections, and he wanted answers.

So, arms crossed over his chest and expression otherwise indifferent, he turned to Antisana. “Do you know what any of this is about? I feel like I missed something.”

Belmont, Squire of Jupiter
(Moved through the crowd to join Connie, waving as he introduced himself to Pieria and Bifrost)

Of all the people Belmont had interacted with upon becoming a Knight, he always found himself skimming the crowd for a few familiar faces. In a sea of Knights, he expected maybe Targoviste, but–oh, there she was. He could see the top of Connie’s head poking up behind someone’s shoulder.

He’d sent her a message earlier this week to ask if she was having any issues with powering up, only for his message to backfire and be sent back to him–forty times. He hadn’t tried to reach out again, but he was glad to see her and–people he didn’t recognize.

A Chronos Knight found her first–which was impressive, because he felt like he’d seen far too few in his time.

“You should,” Belmont piped up at Bifrost’s suggestion, mostly in jest but at least partly in earnest. He raised a hand in greeting for both Pieria and Bifrost, though he was too late to have caught either of their names if they’d been offered. “Hi, Belmont,” he greeted, and waved before drawing his hand back to his side.

“I was looking for you, Connie. Hope you don’t mind if I stick close.”

Just in case.

Dunwich, Page of Neptune

Fortunately for Dunwich, d’If made himself very easy to find, even before he called to her. Taller than everyone else in the room by at least a few inches, with broad shoulders and a telltale gray hood—then, he called to her and Dunwich couldn’t help but light up. Even after how terrible the past week had been with anything related to their Knightly calling and abilities, even considering the fact that they still didn’t have any answers, seeing that d’If had made it here sent a rush of warm relief flooding through Dunwich’s chest.

“d’If!” She called back to him without regard for the fact that they were around people (plenty of other people), then showed a similar lack of concern in lifting her skirt enough to avoid tripping and rushing toward her husband. Other people existed, but at the moment, they mostly only did so as obstacles to for Dunwich to maneuver around, as reasons for her to be somewhat more careful of running in her heels (not that she had zero experience with doing so, but Dunwich could admit that she was out of practice, and even if she hadn’t been, the heels she wore as a Page of Neptune were higher than the vast majority of the ones she ever wore as Eva Denman).

As soon as she got close enough to d’If, Dunwich jumped toward him and his embrace, throwing her arms around his chest as if no one else could see them. “Hell of a reason for your first trip to the moon, isn’t this?”

Whisler, Knight of Polaris

Not going to his Wonder often was what led to a lot of issues. And Whisler had gotten it down to a pretty good science of trying to go at least once every three weeks. Of course, when life happens and you can’t get up there it’s one thing, but when the feelings of exhaustion and just general malaise come because you haven’t gone, and then you physically can’t get up there…well.

Well that’s a problem, and right now, he was living it.

When the letter came to go to the moon, and both Newgrange and Starlight received it as well, he felt a wave of hope, and hopefully the promise of relief. He would get to go up to Whisler soon enough, maybe take the two with him for a quick lunch…it was still well stocked with food…still a nice place to rest, and right now. He needed rest.

“I…honestly don’t get out that much either. Only really up to my Wonder because when I don’t…”

He shrugged and gestured to himself with a sheepish grin. “I start feeling awful. And I don’t recommend it.” He was pleased to be with the two though. I felt like it had been so long since he had gone out with them, just the three of them. He felt bad for leaving Aeleas behind, she was a part of their family too…but…

But these two were home. “I hope whatever it is gets sorted soon, and I hope that you two are up for a quick trip to Whisler after this…provided everything gets fixed…?”

Laeradr, Squire of Neptune

Laeradr's ongoing struggles with balancing his life and his work as a Knight persisted—but not enough for him not to notice when things went... awry. The moment the summons appeared, he blipped to the moon, praying they would get some answers soon.

Of course, the moment he spotted Caer Sidi, any notions of waiting quietly for the Code to speak flew away and he darted towards her with a gasp, gently reaching out for her arm but not touching it.

"God. Are you... well, you're not okay, but I mean, it's not worse than it looks, is it? Like you didn't get an infection or anything? Or you're just bandaging a possibly broken arm? Oh, man, what happened, Caer?"

Qingcheng, Knight of Cosmos

Qingcheng was intrigued by the Moon and looked around, the back of his hand bumping against Nalandas and allowing their fingertips to entwine for just a moment. There was a lot going on, but a strange cry from…down?

Had his gaze shifting to see a green haired, pink and purple clad young male on the ground and…apparently in distress.

He was about to tug Nalanda over to help, just in case it was a medical issue and not just one caused by the stress, when another Cosmos Knight came to talk to them. “Oh, hello, excuse me for a moment, it’s nice to meet you, and I would like to I just…” Again, the back of his hand touched Nalandas and he gave a half nod to the Page before moving over and crouching beside him, careful not to touch.

“...are you all right? Are you hurt? Can I do anything to help you? I’m Qingcheng, and my partner is a doctor, so if it’s something like that, I can have him over here with no issues…”

Qingcheng kept his voice calm, almost soothing. “I know that there are a lot of people here, it is a big overwhelming.”

Amsvartnir, Knight of Cosmos

Alright. Well. Having these kinds of power fluctuations was... new. Whatever was going on, he didn't like it—being unable to go and visit with Takoda and Feilan left him jittery. The summons had appeared while he was trying to take a nap safely at home, and all tiredness vacated his body as quick a party full of alcohol-drinking teenagers after someone shouted "COPS!" He quickly powered up and scooted up to the Moon, peering around—

And nearly tripped over someone squatted on the ground. He squatted next to them, quirking an eyebrow and offering a gentle smile.

"Hey. You good down here?"

Hyperborea, Transcended Knight of the Cosmos

Ciel was sat in her house sipping wine trying to contemplate what to do about her powers acting weird recently. She then felt a pull, a feeling like she needed to powerup which she did without hesitation before she received an ethereal letter summoning her to the Code on the Moon. She also did not hesitate with this.

Hyperborea felt herself be pulled from the Earth to the glittering halls of the Moon Palace. Her eyes fixed on the swirling mass of the Code even as her aura sense took in all the other knights in the room, some old friends some unknown allies that she hoped to maybe get to know in a later date. She scanned the packed room for any of her closest friends even as she kept her attention on the Code waiting to see why it had summoned them all here.

Page Sawtooth of Saturn

“Maybe you should’ve stayed home, if you were going to be in such a bad mood,” Sawtooth muttered as he stood with folded arms, looking out at all those gathered around. Anyone with half a brain should’ve realized that wasn’t the right thing to say, but honestly Sawtooth thought his husband kind of deserved to hear how off putting his attitude was. Yyyyyeah, maybe it was a little inconvenient for both of them to be pulled away at the same time, but it had worked out just fine. His mom would babysit Teyla while Elias and Thaddeus enjoyed “alone time” together.

His daughter had of course been ludicrously unhappy that they would go to magic stuff without her, but she’d get over it because this was important for Daddies to resolve now (and he promised to take her to her world after, as an appeasement; something else his husband had shot him a dirty look for).

They’d finagled around what they had to and were both able to answer the Code’s summons. But his usually sweet and placating husband was still cold as freaking ice- and doing that thing people did when there was something wrong but they didn’t want to come out with it, for whatever reason.

Sawtooth could understand a certain degree of hesitation and reluctance on Regal’s part: it wasn’t like he’d had a great start with this whole powered thing. But Sawtooth didn’t have the same reservations. He enjoyed visiting his wonder, liked talking to the spirit there. He’d miss that connection, if it was gone. And as icing on the cake, their whole immediate family was in on it. They didn’t have to struggle about keeping secrets from each other. It was something they had together, and Sawtooth just couldn’t wrap his mind around why Regal was so testy…

They’d had to be here, as far as he was concerned. It wasn’t optional.

So there was no reason to be all butthurt now over it.

With a quiet huff, he notched his elbow into Regal’s ribs, wanting for anything more than that unusually cold and dismissive expression on his husband’s pretty face.

Even if they came here and nothing was resolved, even if it was just some explanation or apology or everyone commiserating about the same events: how no one could get to their wonders. Wasn’t it better to hear something about it than to hear nothing? Being a knight was important to him, even if it wasn’t to Regal. “Can’t you indulge me this time without looking so sour? What does it hurt, Regal?”

Yomi-no-kuni, Squire of Saturn

Akio had not powered up since he had found his powers to be malfunctioning a few days ago. But suddenly he got a feeling that he should assume his powered form. So he after leaving his apartment so as to not attract any unwanted attention he adhere to the feeling becoming Yomi once again. He then received a summons to the Moon.

If he were being honest he was still barely used to traveling to his wonder let alone to the Moon's Palace, but the young man knew he would not receive such a notice if something important was not happening. So he allowed himself to be pulled to the Moon.

The halls of the lunar Palace were as bright and grand as the last time he had seen them. He glanced around the room that was packed with other knights most of whom he didn't know. He looked over at the swirling mists that was the Code Piece here, he wondered what it had to say to all of them. As he waited for it to address them all he looked around the room trying to find any of the knights he actually knew.

Piriawis, Page of Lysithea

Roni felt so confused she was still trying to understand all of this new magic stuff she had been thrust into a little more than a year ago. She had only gone out briefly to test out her powers so far but then they suddenly stopped working right. She was extremely down about the whole thing she wondered if she had done something wrong and lost her powers. But then she felt something, like a feeling that she could power up again and should do so immediately.

She didn't understand this feeling but with no other clues of what to do she followed the feeling. The teenager snuck out of her door before summoning her form of Piriawis. The page then found a magical letter appearing before her. This magic stuff would never cease to amaze her. It said her presence was requested on the moon that was both shocking and exciting though she was a little concerned how she would breath on the Moon but she figured the magic would take care of it. The letter said she only need to will her self there to attend. She didn't know what that meant but gave it a try anyways.

She found herself suddenly taken away from the spot she had been standing to a glittering and beautiful hall packed full of strangers who felt like her, other knights she presumed. She looked around in awe trying to take it all in before she spied a strange mass of glowing mist on a pedestal. She wondered what it could be, she got a feeling it was something very important however.

Richtersveld, Squire of Pluto &
Dumuzi, Page of Pluto

Oh good, someone she knew. Someone she knew well, at that, and she did her best to bury the gentle darkening of her cheeks as she waved back. That might help her keep Dumuzi a bit under wraps too. Not that she didn't trust him to control himself, but considering he had arrived already looking for a competition--

"We're gonna go over to Tanais, okay?" Richtersveld grabbed Dumuzi's hand to yank him behind her. "You'll like her. As ready to bring the fight to Chaos as you are."

And probably moreso, all things considered.

Dumuzi stumbled after her quick yank of his arm, but it didn't take him terribly long to right himself. "Find another one like me?" He grinned down at her, pulling his hand out of hers as he easily kept pace. "Look, always here for more people to patrol with-"

Richtersveld cleared her throat as she arrived in front of Tanais and the pretty ...Ganymede? Ganymede knight she had gathered to herself. To Folksvangr, she offered a gentle smile and her hand if Folksvangr wanted to shake it. "Richtersveld of Pluto. Don't believe we've met yet!"

Dumuzi's eyes were literally on everyone but the people they were greeting. Awkwardly, she nudged him, and he straighted out his back.

"Dumuzi," nailed it.

"Of Pluto. He's my twin brother. Easily distracted." Not that Richtersveld could really blame him. There was a lot happening and quite a few knights around, to say the least.

Dumuzi turned his gaze toward Richtersveld to say something else, but she nudged him with a booted foot to keep his lips sealed.

Lupu, Knight of Saturn

[Lupu had noticed that Michel had left, especially since he had also received the letter–invitation? From the Code.

Normally, he didn’t try to upset Michel, in fact, he considered Zac to be a friend now, and a good one at that, but sometimes…

Sometimes it was fun to annoy him, regardless of the situation, and when he arrived on the moon, he made his way over to Michel and lunged at him, giving a gentle shove and a “Guess who!”

It wasn’t hard to guess. It was Lupu, obviously. But still. “There are so many people here. Jeeze. Wasn’t expecting such a turn out.”

Regal, Squire of Chronos

“I’m not in a bad mood,” Regal replied, spoken so softly, with carefully constructed neutrality- but even though he was far from smiling and wasn’t dutifully performing his role as boundless faithful supporter, he didn’t think he was lying! He wasn’t in a ‘bad’ mood.

…Just not a good one, either.

He wished they didn’t have to do this-

No, that wasn’t it. He wished Sawtooth didn’t feel obligated to do this. They were in this war, and there was no getting out of it, but it had already impeded Thaddeus’ life so much, and he was far from eager to let it keep grabbing him and his family and dragging them around. Sawtooth and Zero enjoyed it, thought he was some spoilsport holding them back, he was sure. But they weren’t missing pieces of their lives, and he hoped they never did! He wouldn’t wish it on either of them!

What he did wish was that his husband could understand his perspective a little better. Regal didn’t really feel any sense of duty or peace or anything like that when he was powered up, so he just didn’t do it, unless there was an unavoidable threat right in front of him. He was a squire, but he’d only been to his wonder the barest minimum. Regal wouldn’t have even known he couldn’t get there now, if not for Sawtooth’s complaints. He liked to think he would usually go out of his way to make his husband happy- if he wanted something, Thaddeus was happy to spring for it! It was just… this.

They’d been in the middle of dinner with Sawtooth’s mother- just the four of them. Eli, Thad, Teyla, and Mama. But that had been cut short because they were being summoned right now- Regal almost wished they’d been at home alone so that he would’ve had the excuse of ‘can’t leave Teyla home alone, and I’m not comfortable with Sawtooth going alone.’ Alas.

Instead the family dinner had just been ruined.

And that was the closest family Regal had, since his own mother had no idea who he was. Disdained him even- not that Thad could blame her. She didn’t know it was him: just saw that some stranger had (too quickly) replaced her missing son as her granddaughter’s new Papa. Just another piece of life he’d lost because of this war (and it wasn’t even as terrible as some people had it, just terrible enough to be demoralizing).

He flinched as Sawtooth’s elbow found a particularly sensitive niche to jab into. Regal didn’t yelp, but he did cringe away hard with a shallow squeak, shooting his husband a very worn look as he put enough distance between them to avoid another jab.

“I’m here, and I’m trying. That’s the best I can do right now.”
