Ren continued the trek with his allies, helping to move Sakura with his ears acting as radars for behind him. He did carry out the request that Chase needed earlier with his Gravity Eclair to make it light enough to move the metallic structure. The occasional screech from the Ravager did keep his guard up as he was still coming off of his buzz. It wasn't long before they arrived at what appeared to be a cloth flowing in the.... the wind? Ren's ears turned to focus as he could hear the sound of the blowing wind from beyond rocks as he moved with everyone towards it. With the actions of Tabby and Yui, they immediately broke through and the light of day shined through, causing a smile on Ren's face as he stepped through with everyone else. He heard Widget had sent the report, causing him to nod his head as he looked over to Skylar and saw her face. He sighed and walked forward once more to meet up with the commanding officer with the item in tow. He remained quiet, mostly due to the fact the smell of Alcohol was on his breath.

Tabby, Lioncourt, the rabbit...All had been very helpful in their efforts as they trekked on. It seemed Widget wanted to stay in back along with the badly wounded avian. Which was unsurprising given her aversion to the object he and Tabby were jointly carrying, so he could not fault her for that. And with how wounded the avian taking the rear was, he knew she would be of little help as well. In his mind, to help pass the time, he had been reviewing everyone's roles thus far in the mission. The ones helping him were all in high regards; Yui for saving him, Ren for dispatching the death stalker and his gravity dust, Tabby for always being willing to help. That left the two trailing behind them, Widget and the avian. Widget he knew had helped, or tried too, back when they were fighting for their lives. So even if she did not offer help now, he could not really fault her for it since she is merely sticking by her belief. Though if anything came of this, he would know who should be thanked for it. In terms of the avian though...while he knew she did fight, she also had rendered the rabbit unconscious at one point and the rest paralyzed, to the point he had tried to shoot her to get her to stop. If it had been a mistake that only endangered her, he would've been more forgiving. But in this case, while they recovered and succeeded, it could've been much worse if they hadn't adapted quickly and she hadn't stopped as soon as she did. That much would be worth mentioning, be it by himself or preferably by the Lioncourt. His mind would move past that, thinking again to the name the Lioncourt had referred to him as. 'Sensui...Hmmm.' He was unfamiliar with the name itself, though whoever it was seemed to look a lot like Chase by his guess. He still desired to question her on it, find out why she had called him thus, but that would be when they were safe. Even with the relative peace of their resumed trek, there was no guarantee they were safe. There really wouldn't be till they were back with the military.
Chase was only allowed such thoughts due to the length of path they traveled. Ever steeper the path would rise, the air growing cooler, but evermore it would stretch on. Even with Ren's help of gravity dust, and Tabby in supporting half the weight, the walk itself was taking its toll for Chase. While rejuvenated from blood and his own healing, his very minor wounds from before almost entirely gone, it did nothing to ease fatigue. They had been through a lot already just to get here, but he wasn't about to complain or ask for a break. He was determined to get out of here before any such thing, as almost everyone was pulling their weight so he should as well. He had, for the most part, turned Tabby's constant noise to background noise in his mind. Not out of disrespect, but more so just so he could think to himself as they traveled. Her tunes and such would change, as it seemed Tabby didn't like silence, but it wasn't an un-enjoyable thing. This was eventually broken by the Lioncourt mentioning seeing light up ahead. A surge of relief and excitement went through Chase. 'Almost there.' He silently thought to himself, though kept his guard up. As Yui would caution for bright light, he would turn his head so as to not be looking in that direction. Which, even looking the opposite way, when she made her axe he could see how much it brightened the area. He would hear something strike against stone, the sound of tumbling rocks, and then the light level increased greatly. Only this time it was not a blue light, but that of sunlight. Chase smiled as he slowly turned his gaze to the entrance, squinting but being able to adapt well enough since he could control how fast he viewed it. 'We made it.' He thought to himself.
Chase had to stifle a laugh at Tabby's reaction to being freed. He wasn't sure why, but she was good at that to him at least. He would see Yui check out first to check what was up, his own hound padding out as well to check for any dangers, before saying everything seemed fine but they seemed a bit aways from the military camp. But that didn't really worry Chase. Just being out of those caverns was enough for him, he could deal with however long of a trek it would be to get back to the base. However...he hadn't anticipated Tabby's reaction to the news. She would suddenly rush as Chase was almost knocked off his feet, not expecting the sudden increase in speed or for her to run for that matter. He could just barely stumble/ run to keep up with her on his side of the object, and was doing his best not to fall over entirely. Thankfully, she would realize what happened...Just in time as Chase would not have been able to last much longer keeping up with her. She would apologize, and say she got excited to which Chase just sighed...and took in a few breaths of air, as he had forgotten to breathe during the panic of that unexpected run. He merely waved to Tabby that he was alright, not truly wishing to speak for the moment, as he looked around now that they were outside. They would move again, slower, and a short distance (really only a few steps) before they would be out of the cave. He would see they were surrounded by trees, and clearly a distance away from the camp like Yui had said. He would hear Widget pipe up that she called for help for them, so they could stay and rest. And that she couldn't leave the cave for now because it was too bright. He would smile to her appreciatively. 'Is it due to her eyes taking longer to adjust, even with the goggles?' He wondered though pushed the thought aside for now. Perhaps they could find something to help her sight better in future. His main thought though now was that they finally had a reprieve. "Lets...Place it down here...While we wait?" He would say to Tabby, seeing no point in carrying it if they were going to wait for transportation and tire themselves out more. When she consented, he would lay it down on the ground and stretch. Carrying the thing had left him in a slightly uncomfortable position for the walk, one he hoped to alleviate the minor aches of by stretching and moving normally now. His eyes would glance around everyone there, then to the forest around them. "We should remain alert...Just because we are out of the cave....doesn't mean we are safe yet." He would say, just loud enough for all to hear, as his eyes continued scanning around them briefly. With all that had gone on, it wasn't unlikely a Grimm could be around the area. Their path had been excavated by Grimm after all.
Out of curiosity, he would go to the cloth that had been at the cave entrance and study it briefly, giving a nod to Widget as he neared her. He wondered why it was even there. 'Is it a remnant related to that object we found, or someone else had found this cave...' He wondered silently to himself. After studying it thoroughly for some time, he would notice that there was blood stains on the fabric. He wasn't quite sure how recent or long ago it was, or who it was even from. Not to mention he didn't have the tools himself to find out for the moment. Many possibilities raced through his mind but he put them aside for the time being. There were a few options he had that he could go through; military, Drac, or...His grand father. He would pack the fabric for now...not wanting to decide, but not wanting to leave it. While it could be entirely pointless to do so...he felt it should at least be attempted to see whose blood this was, and if they lived why they were even there. Then, he would make his way to the Lioncourt. To hopefully get an answer to what had been bothering him for so long. As he approached her, he would offer a formal bow. Now that they were out of danger, his own sense of manners and politeness were taking hold again. But unlike before...It was almost as if he had lost most of his shyness. "Thank you for saving me earlier, and...for granting my request. I apologize that...It took me so long to say so. And sorry to trouble you but...Why did you call me Sensui, back in the caverns?" He would ask, pausing as if trying to find the right words to speak, before getting to the question that had been on his mind since she first said the name. His hound would be keeping watch, sitting nearby to Tabby, as Chase was by the Lioncourt. Able to keep eye contract, if she looked his way, with no sign of flinching from it.

Freedom~! Sweet freedom~! All the air in the skyyyyyyy~! Wonderful, wonderful SKY OF BLUE~! Oh how one could dance around like a spaz out of style!!!! Tabitha certainly would be, the moment the object had been placed down to the ground. With a few shakes of her wrists, she could feel the blood circulating back to her fingers. Phew~! Ignoring the fact he had still been carrying Sakura, Tabitha was already pursuing him, invading his personal space with a zoomed in, wide eyed crazed look. "That is it!! Good thing the distance and finish line came ~! Bunny bun nice drink!! Can Tabby try one sometime!!! Want to see if it possible to be a bird!!! Would be a funny bird though!! Oh!!! What if braidy braids become wings!?" Irrelevant to what was going on, there was no holding back the young woman from a happy dance progressing. All that new fresh air was rushing to her brain. The very thought of her hair though becoming wings had her dramatically gasping. "HOW COULD TABBY LAND!? Oh!!!! Oh shoot! Bad Tabby! Indoor voice!... Wait... Tabby outside though.... What is this sorcery!?" From talking to Ren... To talking to herself? Instead of adding more dramatics towards this... "Colorful image," her gaze had turned to Chase, curtseying to the man before he had turned his way towards Yui. Almost following along like his poochie, she stopped to see they were needing private talky talk. Mutey boy you a friendo! No spicy boyo! Very kind!! Tabby will remember this!! Miss birdy birdo whitey white you kind too!!! If Tabby wasn't so tired you be asked to be new pillow!!!"
Whether either person had actually heard any of this, that was another story. She herself had to sit herself down after all this moving about!!! All that walking was TIRING. In doing so, that was when she had finally remembered the other two. Widget was still in the cave, and there was no way in utter heck she was going to be going one single step back into that darkness. The cave entrance was all hers!!!! What about the other girl who was speaking sorries earlier? Almost missing her, Tabitha's eyes had finally landed on her, seeing her by herself. That was no good!!!!!! With forced energy to stand, she had made way over to the saddened bird girl, practically heavy plopping near her. "High echo birdy girl!!! Why birdy girl so sad!?" Clearly intending to bug the woman, there Tabby was, reaching forward to attempt on ticking the poor girl lost in her thoughts. Whether she liked tickles or not was a mystery, but hey!!! Sadness was too sad!!!!!!!
XXXIt appeared that the presence of sunlight and the release of fresh air had brought a sense of calmness over the group. It was a big moment, for certain, both surviving and overcoming the obstacles that brought them this far. While many of them had severe injuries, no one had perished in the collapse after all of the chaos. ... The young huntress couldn't help but feel an overcoming sense of pride welling in her chest. This was their first big mission, one that they saw through to the end. They made it out and had a fruit of their labors. They had a number of close calls, both her and Chase in particular against an overwhelming deathstalker. But.. They pulled through it all. They all did. A small smile curled against her cheeks, appreciative of Tabby's enthusiasm to get out of this hell hole. With both Tabby's rush of adrenaline and Chase struggling to keep up, the two of them managed to get the object out of the cavern once and for all. Widget had the right idea, reaching out to command in order to request assistance. Most of them weren't fit to make the journey to camp, not without assistance. "Good thinking, I'm certain they'd want us extracted as soon as possible, especially with an item of importance." Though... It had slipped her mind, there was a good chance that Widget still couldn't hear a word she was saying. The thought came to motion a thank you, but at the mention of it being far too bright for her to even leave the came, it may have been best to leave it. Her gaze then panned to Skylar who stayed silent, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth. ... Perhaps she was being harsh, treating her as such, but... It may have been better to leave that for now, as well. A sneaking suspicion crept in, telling her that trying to talk more about what happened back there would just make matters worse. So then there was Ren, who continued to bear the weight of Sakura, a gesture that she greatly appreciated. She wasn't sure if he'd see it, but she offered him a smile and a nod, a silent thank you for everything he had done. Then of course, Yuki. [Not sure what to put for Yuki, so I'll just leave the acknowledgment that sh exists. HAha] That in turn would bring her full circle back to Chase, offering a recommendation that they stay alert. Even if they were out of the cave, there could still be danger nearby, being in the outskirts of Vale. He was right, she'd let him know with a nod of agreement. "The cave would be too convenient otherwise." She offered in confirmation of a still eminent sense of danger.
Her eyes would look away briefly, panning out to the forest in order to examine their surroundings. Everything seemed so empty, so lifeless... Truly the only movement she saw was that of Chase out of the corner of her eye, drawing her gaze back to him. He had gone to investigate something she had wondered about herself briefly, the cloth that covered their saving light. There was an examination, before stowing it away. Apparently his own curiosity had surpassed hers, leaving her to wonder what he thought of it. That's when their gazes would meet, that of pale blue and crimson red. ... There was something they needed to talk about, wasn't there? The eyes spoke a lot about people. Apparently her eyes were the only aspect of her that her mother truly hated, because it reflected her emotions so vividly. Shock, sadness, joy, and of course... Curiosity, an expression that would shimmer in pale blue pools as he approached her. What was more shocking though was the formal bow she received from him. There was almost a moment of hesitancy from her, as Chase was the first student of Beacon that bowed to her since her enrollment. Aside from Garret, of course. It made her feel alienated for a while, but it was a formal manner that she couldn't shake. She'd bow in return, stretching her wings to display her elegance. It was there he'd see the condition of her back, fabric bloodied and burned. Marks of serrated teeth lined her shoulders from the ravagers, cauterized by her very own semblance. Rising from her bow, she found herself pleasantly surprised by how calmly he talked. IT hadn't seemed forced or strained, as if he actually wanted to talk to her. In the midst of his pause, the girl would shake her head before passing a gaze towards Sakura and Ren. "I owe you my thanks as well. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have woken up. ... If it wasn't for you, both Sakura and I would've died back there." There was a certain softness in her words, her eyes shimmering softly as if saddened. It was in her slip up that they were backed in a corner, that Chase had to come to their aid. ... Sure, she had woken up in the midst of combat, but, their chance of survival had been so slim. ... He had her undying gratitude, something that she could never truly begin to express.
It was his next question that she hadn't expected. White lashes widened softly, a surge of confusing emotions erupting from deep in her soul. Why did he call him Sensui? Why did he have to hear it? There was a number of contributing factors, all of which caused her heavy heart to ache more. "Well..." She said softly, but trailed off to nothing. Though her axe was present in her right hand, she'd slowly raise her left hand curled in a fist to her chest. The grasp of the goliath had returned, the tightening of her chest, as if trying to squeeze the very life out of her. Where there was a shimmer of sadness before, it now looked as if a heavy burden took hold. Her eyes were wet, as if on the verge of tears. How was she supposed to explain it? The dream that she had. How was she supposed to explain that she was still trapped in that place, until that very moment? That he looked like her brother, that they fought side by side like her and her sibling? .. Then again, it was for that very reason she was able to wake up. If it was for their similarities and the risk he took that she was able to escape that moment, that memory. It was because of she thought he was Sensui that she was able to save them. White lashes fell shut as she inhaled deeply, letting out a long, soft sigh. She just had to get it out, she had to escape that memory, but... Not yet. So far only Sakura had known any semblance of detail from her family, and that was only because of their outing. Where they meet her father, her mother, and what was left of her brother. She may be willing to share with Chase, because it involved him specifically, but... Something told her this wasn't the place, this wasn't the time. White lashes fluttered open once more, bringing her blue hues to connect with his own gaze. "I apologize. That's something I'd.. prefer to not talk about that here, but.. I'll answer any questions when this is all over." Her tone had gotten quiet, finding that tightness in her chest unrelenting. That's when she broke eye contact instead, drawing her gaze away from his. She genuinely felt off leaving him hanging, but the matters of family were always difficult. That association, in particular, stemmed from her most tragic memory. ... She had to prepare herself for that moment to share. ".. Perhaps when I answer you, you'll be willing to express your own thoughts on what you collected over there." She said softly, her gaze panning back for a moment, indicating towards that bloodied cloth that Chase had procured. Maybe that would make it feel less bitter, presenting it more as an exchange of information. .. Maybe that would leave Chase at least somewhat content in waiting for this to be over. ..
Now that the object had been settled, a request for aid had been sent, and Yui left Chase hanging in his request, Yui found herself looking beyond the trees once again. Despite her condition, both physically and emotionally, she still found herself quite capable. Aura was feeding into the burns and cuts that coated odds and ends of her body. Slowly but surely, she could feel the intensity of the burns dying down. More so, it was thanks to Chase's willingness to patch her up to snuff. That girl, Tabby, was quite loud and energetic, even after the chaos. It was... A nice distraction. To see someone so colorful and alive, despite everything. It made it harder to focus on her thoughts, but not impossible. That was the problem. A half-smile curled on her lips at Tabby's compliments. "You're sweet, Tabby, I'm happy that you're here with us. I... Pillow...?"/b] Yui's gesture was intended to be good, but she found Tabby... Difficult to follow. Even more so than Ren, and that was a feat all on its own. Looking back at the rest of battered students she had come so far with, she kept catching herself looking towards the sky, and inevitably, their destination. ... She needed to clear her head, almost as much as she needed to see this through to the end. Chase's question had left her headspace discombobulated, questioning herself and her motives. Was she only able to save them because she thought he was Sensui, or would she have still been just as capable? Would they have made it out of there if that wasn't the case? ... Did that mean that her team didn't matter, so much as her regret of the past? She needed to clear her thoughts, she couldn't sit here waiting. Stepping forward, she took a deep breath. ".. I'm going to scout around us, just like in the cavarn. I believe it'll be in our best interest to ensure a clear path for the soldiers that are coming to aid us. .. When I meet them, I can better guide them to our extraction point. I believe that'll be better than sitting by, being idle." She couldn't sit, she couldn't wait. She needed to move, she needed to go. Yui kept her gloved fingertips woven tightly around the blazing axe she had produced, her feathers ruffling in the cool breeze. It felt so welcoming, so free. Especially after being trapped underground for so long. She never wanted to go back, never feel so confined again. Gazing back, she'd look towards Chase in particular, then Tabby and Ren. She even wanted to pull herself into having confidence in Widget and Skylar's capabilities. "I have the utmost faith in you. We finished the hard part, now we just need to survive a little longer." STepping forward, Yui would outstretch her wings as far as she could, letting the wind caress her stiffened feathers. It caused her shoulders to ache, but the cool breeze against the severity of the burns was quite welcoming. She was ready to fly, ready for this to be over with. "I'll see you all shortly, okay?" Hopefully with a vote of confidence from the others, she would then flap her wings and take off into the sky. It was one thing to fly in the confines of the cave, but to feel the wind lick her skijn, her winter locks dancing so freely. It was exhilarating, a sign of their success. She felt her chest get lighter, her mind fade into the wind. This truly was where her freedome was. They finished their task, and she was about to do her last part to ensure the safety of her teams.

That is, until the energetic girl named Tabby plopped down beside her. She was so confused by the fact that someone was actually taking the time and effort to check in on her that it took her a few moments to process one: What was said, and two: the impending threat of being tickled. But, she managed to recover fast enough to shrink away from the hands, holding her sides protectively.
"Wha-wait...please, don't tickle me. Mah wings are still injured an' I feel 'em whenever pressure's applied to mah sides. The muscles are kinda connected. Widget tried a couple times to step out, but, the light was too intense for her to keep her eyes open. But, she also really wanted to be out of the cave. Unfortunately, she kept having to retreat back into the shadows. Her eyes might adjust faster without her goggles, but, even from where they'd seen the light first, it would have strained them to be exposed to it. Here, she was certain she'd end up in searing pain if she tried and be blinded for a while. She backed up to where she could see and tried to take note of any shade she could take advantage of and possibly walk to with her eyes closed, but, Yuki returned and took her hand. Grateful, she closed her eyes and allowed her team leader to guide her out to join the group. When they stopped, she felt around to find a place to sit and felt a fallen tree and took a seat, hoping she would be able to open her eyes again soon. She hated relying on anyone like this. She really needed to start on those auto-adjusting goggles she'd been planning on.

Indeed the tickling had done the trick, but Skylar's odd, very long explanation.. Was confusing Tabitha to a point she had stopped. Only catching half of what she had said, Tabby kept her personal space back to herself, making a winced look revealing that very confusion she wanted to hide. Skylar had a concussion as she had said in the cave three... Now four times at least correct? That was too difficult for even Tabby to forget about, sympathizing with the bird faunus. From what the young woman was able to gather at all from any of this, was Skylar's own lack of experience being just about on par with most of them as it was. Tabby couldn't help but take a breather, forcing her own energetic self to calm down. "Miss Birdy, we all make mistakes! Twas first mission!!! All that counts, is we allllll made it out alive!! Yes? At least that is from what Tabby is seeing it as. These people be mad, let them! All of us had made booboos in this!! Tabby landed on her butt at least twice! Also hopped on giant bug with an unconscious bunny bun!! Birdy not the only one to do something silly! As for Widgey, she needs better glasses! That's a simple answer! She should have prepared better, knowing her pretty eyes would be dangerous to use! Lookit Mutey boyo, he did so much, but paid for it with a sicky sick of weakness. We all picked up from mistakes. ...Tabby no expert but.... Mama used to tell Tabby, "Now Tabby, learn from mistakes and grow! That way Tabby can be a big girl!"
Going back off track, Tabby had shaken her head from left to right, standing herself to her feet. "If they angry, next time show em you won't make the same mistake twice, and make all eat words!!! Tabby knows a lil'.... This first mission too! Panic and fear was so scary to have! Heart was beating all "BOOM, BOOM, BOOOOOM!" Spreading her arms out wide, she was so hapy by the fresh air, she couldn't help but spin, landing down backwards into the grass with a clumsy squeak. "HeeHEE~!!!! We are all ALIVE!!! WE COMPLETED OUR MISSION!!! We should all be celebrating!!! Not dwelling on the booboos!!! Booboo reflection should be later in alone time!!!!" It was then her green eyes caught movement at the corner of her gaze, seeing Yui about to take off. The moment their wings had spread, that hyperactive woman was back onto her feet. "EEEE!!!! Birdy flight!!!" Trying to literally glomp Yui, she had completely missed, face planting into the dirt in front of Chase himself. "AHAHAHAH!!!!! Owie..... Tabby missed!!!" From dusty, to now dirty, she had no cares in the world, chasing under Yui's tiny shadow with her hands in the air flapping. "That looks like fun fun!!! Phwoo!!! Phwooo!!!" Out of control she was getting, and she was about to pay for it, landing straight near the tree Widgit was at. "Sorry Widgey it just Tabby!! Oh!!! Tabby gonna tree climb and look for DANGER STRANGER!!" That was that, just as Tabby began the very climbing descent, wielding Jabby to help her up. One click of the grapple hook, a bit of aim, and the tree branch a meter out of reach had been caught. Using the pull lever, the line began shortening, bringing her up to the grappled up branch. BEfore she could get to the very top, the arriving sound of distant engine grew louder. Much more curious to the culprit making that racket, she ended up joining down to the ground once more with everyone else. Joining them had been a mistake. Whoever these people in white were, Tabby was practically reeling back away from them in protest, until realizing they were there to check injuries. "Don't make Tabby corrupted with your spiciness!!!" While having said this she had surprisingly kept herself still, knowing it wouldn't take too long. As one of the only ones with barely any damage, she was already clear to go. "You betcha! Tabby an iron wall rawr~!" All enthusiasm aside, she took the time to help widget into the ferry (should she allow the help) all ready to go back to the camp.

Ren continued to carry Sakura on his shoulders as they finally tasted the freshness of the air, causing him to sigh in relief. He could see Chase organizing a spot to set the machine for the captain to look at while Tabby was joking about drinking one of his mixed drinks. Then she began to go off topic on her braids becoming wings as Ren chuckled. "It depends on your metabolism rating." He told her with a smile before looking to his boss. He smiled at her words before he shook his head and soon said. "Don't thank me for what needed to be done.... we're a team and as such I'll do my damnedest to keep you all alive... cause you need to go partying with me." He told her with a smile before they managed to finally get out and meet up with the main group at the cave site before he listened to his boss once more, laying Sakura against one of the trees so he could rest his back. As he stretched his back he could hear her informing them about going to scout ahead for the soldiers. "Alright boss! We'll be waiting!" He responded back to her with a big smile upon his face as his aura began to slowly mend what remained of his damaged eardrums now that his buzz had finally gone away.

It was like the girl could not allow for a moment of sadness or anything to last, which was pleasant in this situation at the least. 'With her I doubt any grimm would come for us.' He silently thought to himself as he carried on, though even when focused on other tasks it was hard to miss or for that matter not hear what Tabby would have to say. She was very much the opposite of him in that regard. He smiled softly when she said he was a friend, and that she would remember his kindness. His mind sort of removing the spicy comment from the sentence as irrelevant as he wasn't quite sure what that meant at the moment. It was...nice, to make friends. Looking at those few briefly, Yui and Tabby, he knew in most instances he probably would never have worked the courage to interact with them normally. 'I suppose the bonds made through battle are indeed strong.' He noted to himself in his mind. This felt the fastest he had ever grown comfortable with others, even if it was only a few out of the group. Perhaps...he may grow closer to this team than he had with the last. They did not suffocate him as much with attention and kindness as the last, which had made him feel a bit uncomfortable and kept him in his shell. The Lioncourt would agree about staying on alert, and would bow to him in return as he did. This allowed for Chase to see the true damages he had suffered, and made him feel as if he should've spent more time tending to her wounds. Bloody and burned fabric, tooth marks that were cauterized on her skin...all signs of the struggle they went through and the sacrifices she made to help protect everyone. What was saddening the most to him was that he could not tend to those wounds at this stage, and left him with a look of worry despite what would normally be a very elegant bow from the Lioncourt.
She would then say she owed him thank for saving them, giving him more credit than he thought was due. He had gone to help but only just barely distracted the ravager, the human still being hurt and Yui left unconscious. Had Yui not awakened he would have been doomed himself, a wasted sacrifice. They had both saved each other in that time. He could see an expression of sadness within her eyes, as she likely was thinking how if she failed they all would have died as well. Chase offered a sympathetic look to that, but smile softly afterwards. 'All that matters is that we made it.' He silently thought to himself. To his next question, it seemed to provoke a very strong reaction Chase had not been expecting. She would begin to speak, but it seemed she could not finish the sentence. Instead, she would raise her left hand in a fist to her chest. 'Oh no, what do I do...?' He thought to himself. Whatever the answer to his question was, it seemed apparent it was enacting some kind of internal conflict with her. He wished he could take the question back like it was never asked, nervous and worried he may have jeopardized whatever friendship they may have developed. And afraid he may have caused her pain. Her eyes were wet, and a heavy burden seemed to overtake her, making Chase's mind panic as he tried to think of a way to take back what he said; to apologize and help her somehow. But his mind was drawing a blank, and he was helpless to do anything. She would apologize and say now was not the time, saying now was not the time and breaking eye contact...Making Chase feel extremely guilty. Before he could really respond, she would add that when she did he may enlighten her on whatever she learned about the blooded cloth. Chase would not resolutely, serious expression on his face. "I apologize, I had not realized the question would cause such...turmoil. You need not answer it later if...if you feel you cannot. But...I would be more than willing...to share what I learn, if anything, on this." He would respond, regret and guilt evident in his voice though he tried and failed to hide it.
Yui seemed eager to move form the topic, responding to Tabby now before, before stepping froward and announcing her intention to scout ahead and guide help to them. Chase would merely nod his head to her declaration. He felt he had no right to dissuade her, even if he worried after all this if she should risk such things. There were strength in numbers, it was how they survived the caves for the most part. She would look to tabby, ren, and himself in particular saying she had the utmost confidence in them and that she would see them all shortly. "I shall hold you to that. Be safe...Yui." Was all Chase could manage to say, his voice more neutral now and soft. He sincerely hoped she didn't try any heroics while gone. But he also knew, despite Widget's call for aid, it'd be best for whoever came to have a guide to find them. And to let everyone there know in detail the situation. Sighing softly as she flew and faded form sight...Chase would find an isolated tree a bit aways from everyone, placing his back on it, and slide down to be sitting against it. He let out a long sigh as he sat there, finally taking a real moment to rest after all they'd been through and to process all that had happened. His hound would pad his way over to him, and lay down besides him. Chase's left hand would gently pet the top of the hounds head, as his right hand would slowly tend to his pistol. Making sure it was fully loaded, clean, nothing to cause a malfunction to it. While they were out of the cave, he would not take that to mean they were entirely free from harm. He would step petting his hound after a bit, and take out his burial blade. Going over his weapons to make sure they were maintained and repairing anything that needed it as he awaited help.
Lost in his work, attention focused so he could be lost in his thoughts, he was sadly almost entirely unaware of what the others were up to. The only thing that broke him from his thoughts as he heard the sound of something large and mechanical traveling through the forest. Eyes raising, whatever it was not quite in sight, Chase would slowly sheathe his weapons but have his repeating pistol ready. He hoped it was the help Yui promised to find, but with that cloth covering the entrance, it could be whoever had set it there in the first place for all he knew. He would slowly rise, and calmly walk over to there recovered treasure protectively. He would not allow all the sacrifices they made go to waste. His hound followed after him as he was trained, and stood besides him ready to act if needed. Thankfully, it was unneeded. Once the machines came into sight, it filled Chase with relief...and some worry. The Lioncourt was not among the ranks of those who returned, despite her promising to come back soon with the help. They were military trucks, of the style he recognized from the camp they had been in earlier. As soon as the trucks stopped, medics would pour out and start attending to everyone. Chase merely shrugged them off save to ask for a bag of blood, showing he was mostly fine surprisingly now, and that he had his own medicinal knowledge. In truth, his wounds from earlier had healed with the time spent outside of combat. And with the Lioncourt's blood he had partaken in earlier. Since they could verify he was mostly fine, they would oblige him with one blood bag which Chase stowed for now. While he had fed before in front of everyone...he preferred to do so privately, especially now that there were many more. As they would begin to load their special treasure Chase would offer to help and ask if he could travel in the same truck as it, but was told no. He would have to ask the commander to get permission to see what became of it. He would also ask if they had seen Yui, to which they said she was safely at the camp. Which did bring some relief to Chase to know she was safe then at least, and that she probably was told to remain there while the rest of them were collected. So Chase merely nodded neutrally, and would go onto the transport truck. He would note around the same time Tabby would be headed on, them both being relatively healthy in comparison to others. He would smile to her shyly, and board near her on the transport. Silently and efficiently strapping himself into the seat, and waiting for them to be on their way.

An' twa be honest...I been thinkin...ain't nobody been shootin' at them flyin ones before I went an' screamed em...an a bullet went whizzin by.It were only one so...I kinda feel like I went an' annoyed someone off real proper an they tried ta shut me down fer it. If it really were that bad...I ain't gonna have a real easy time gettin back in anyone's graces. I jus hope I aon't gonna be sent back to tha farm. I'm not sure I could face my Nana bein kicked out. But, you were tryin ta cheer me up an' here I am gettin all mopey on ya. Thanks fer tryin. I still ain't sure if I feel any better, but, it's nice ta know someone is willin ta forgive me fer my stupidity."
She watched as Tabby got up and moved around, just now noticing Yui was gone. However, a convoy came over the ridge and science teams and troopers poured out to secure the item they'd dredged up from the bowels of the earth while medics started examining everyone. They were pretty quick to tend to her given the blood covering her back, the slightly askew wing, and the blood on her head. She must have looked horrible as they wouldn't even let her walk herself to the truck. One of them stayed behind to properly treat her injuries while the others fussed around with the others. ☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█Team:SLAR█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁

Widget could hear nor see anything that was going on around her. What seemed like several minutes passed though, and a feminine hand gripped hers and pulled. She could sort of feel the person's energy and only one person she knew was that boisterous. It had to be Tabby. To what end, she had no clue, but, she was being led. One of the medics approached them and made the mistake of touching her. Thankfully, without sight, she was horribly inaccurate and her tail lashed out at lightning speed, striking nothing but air. But, it had come out from under her shirt so quickly it had startled the medic into stumbling back and falling flat on their rump.
"Okay, whoever you are, I'm kinda blind and deaf right now, so, sorry if you're a friend. You scared the crap out of me though. I'm guessing it's Tabby holding my hand..." She was cut off though by a hand being placed in her free one, making a peace symbol, followed by a cursory inspection of her ears before an attempt to examine her eyes was made. She grabbed her goggles, keeping the person from lifting them."No. You lift them, it will cause more harm. I'm photosensitive. Just need some time in dim lighting."After a brief pause, she was released as the medic motioned Tabby along. Before much longer though, Widget felt something metallic as Tabby helped load her up. Seemed as though the calvary showed up.

The transport trucks, and ambulances, would take off as soon as they had all of the students secured. Medical staff would without warning approach each student and start inspecting them for damage. Taking their pressure, temperatures, and other vital signs. Any injuries would be treated promptly then and there. Major injuries were merely subdued for the moment though as they would need to be admitted to the medical tent and likely require followups in the hospital at beacon proper. After a bumpy drive the trucks would eventually pull into the camp above the original entrance point to the cavern system below. personnel of all sorts would immediately hasten their paces to refill the trucks, bring out stretchers if needed, and provide any necessary help to the medical staff.
Cσmmαndєr Adασ himself could be seen standing atop a platform overseeing a few monitors. He would turn his steely gaze towards the students who had just arrived without a trace of emotion. He was a stoic man if there ever was. The students were ultimately ushered into another medical tent for a secondary round of testing on more advanced machines. After almost all of that was done the Cσmmαndєr would slap a flap open with his left hand and enter in with a stately demeanor. Several officers standing to his left and right. "I'm happy you made it back... And mostly in one piece." His face didn't seem to display happiness a normal person would. "Today you have done a great service to your country. One far more difficult than anticipated. We didn't think that this could happen, but it was a trap. We later found several other entrances to the cavern system that we believe unknown forces used to infiltrate the cavern system and caused the mayhem you have all witnessed firsthand." He took a deep breath and held it for some time. His eyes slightly glossy. "You are the first to return..." Surely this would come as a shock to them. Being the group who was venturing though collapsed cavern systems. "One of the other groups is currently fighting what we believe to be a band of criminals near a laboratory. The other..." His voice cracked. "Well, they didn't make it..." A single tear streaking down his face. All of this explained his rather somber state.
The room was dead silent. Not even the sound of breathing could be heard. "Yui... Was sent to scout out the devastation that has occurred." The commander said this in such a way that made one doubt whether or not Yui was sent or not. He seemed to have a flash of anger as he said her name."We hope to hear her report in a few hours, but for now any of you able will report back to beacon on one of our airships." He gave them all a kurt nod and made his way to the door, but before he left he turned around one last time. "I'm glad you made it back... Count yourselves lucky. " And then he was gone.

☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁ Skylar endured closer examination from the medics on the way back, though, by the time they got to the base camp, it was determined that she was better off than expected. She had a slight gash on her head, but, she wasn't suffering from a concussion and had nothing more than a few nicks and bruises and just suffering from muscle fatigue otherwise. Once they stopped, she was ushered in with the others to a tent where they were instructed to wait a debriefing. When the general came in, she could tell the news wasn't going to be good. He told them they were the first back and that one of the other teams was currently fighting criminals and that the others were gone. More surprising was that Yui, who had been absent up to this point, had been sent to scout. How could they know if they hadn't even scouted it yet? She watched him leave before standing up. "Somethin don't feel right 'bout this. Ain't no one scouted if they sent her, so, how can they know no one made it? An' they sent her alone? I'm gonna go after her."
She looked to the rest in the tent with her. "Fer what it's worth, sorry fer the sonic barrage back there guys." Before anyone could have a chance to stop her, she ducked out of the tent and took to the air, flying towards the canyon and diving in. Near the bottom, she pulled up, using her dive to speed her flight along so she could catch up and was gone. Everything seemed off. That laugh before the explosion, the multiple entrances, the strange construct they found, sending Yui in alone, and writing off the others without confirming they died? Everything just felt...wrong to her. And she doubted the rest of their party was in great shape. Some of them had been in the explosion when it went off. Some of them like that horse girl and the one with the metal jaww looked like they could take a pounding and keep going, but the rest? Even then, who knew what they'd endured since they got separated. She'd failed once and she had a chance now to make up for it. ☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█Team:SLAR█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁

Any medical personnel inside would ignore him for the time being as he had been checked already. Despite the bumpiness of it, he would make no complaints and instead drift into thought. The mission was a success, they were on their way back to safety, and they all had survived. 'Our group at the least.' He thought to himself. He had no idea what had happened with the others after they fell. But he knew one group was that of senior students to them, and the group they had been with always could fall back. Or so he assumed. His mind was partially worried, but he pushed it aside. It didn't affect him or their side of the mission. Worrying would do little to fix anything. Instead, his mind focused on other things. Like what would happen when they reached camp, how much the Lioncourt would have reported, how the camp was after all that occurred. What he should do once back at the camp. He had medical knowledge, so perhaps he could help out in that regard. And perhaps by relating his side of what occurred it may help in some other ways. Further, he was still quite curious on the device they had found. He really wanted to know what was found out about it. 'Perhaps...if allowed...they would surely stop me but...I should try...' He thought, mind plagued by uncertainty and partially fear. There would be no clarity on that ride back, even as they reached the camp his mind was still not made up.
As they would arrive and exit the truck, Chase calmly walking besides his hound, he would see the camp intact...if with such a scurry of personnel and movement it almost seemed like a disturbed ant pile. Especially when most were headed in their direction. Personnel would go to help refuel the truck, hep wounded students, bring supplies and many other things. Though Chase would not see what became of the object they had retrieved, he would notice the commander seeming to be watching some monitors before turning his gaze to them, causing Chase to lower his head to the ground. He had an emotionless gaze and radiated authority, something Chase did not want to mistakenly challenge. Soon enough, without resistance, Chase and the others would be ushered into a medical tent for further tests and screening. While Chase could vouch for his own health, he did not resist and merely stayed silent as they performed the tests. It passed swiftly enough, with him being found to be alright. He was fortunate in that his aura held and he did not sustain much in the way of damage, his execution at the claws of a death stalker being interrupted. He did watch, with curiosity, the machines they used to test him. They were of advanced design, and stuff he was not quite familiar with. He would ask the medical teams some minor question to try and learn all he could.
It was not long after that the commander would enter the tent, flanked by several officers. While his words said one thing, his expression another. He did not seem happy, despite saying he was glad they were back. He would go on to say they did a great service, but that the caves had been a trap due to other entrances into it. 'Which explains the collapse.' Chase thought to himself, but remained silent on the matter. Then his expression would change as he would pause...saying that they were the first to return. 'What happened...' Chase wondered, not at all expecting to be the first group. Sure, they wasted little time in moving but...they had gone on to a completely unknown section of cave in the first place. He had expected the senior group to be back at the least. As the man continued, the news only seemed to get worse. One group was fighting criminals...and the other, their original group, had not made it. The room was dead silent afterwards as the information was processed. The commander even shedding a tear. Chase's mind was still trying to process the sudden information. 'If what happened was a trap...was our part planned as well, or was that unexpected? What did the other group face?' He wondered to himself silently. He was...less disturbed by the loss of life than he perhaps should have been. But he knew the risks, as all students should, of being a student. His mind had been prepared for his own encounter with death in the caves. The man would then continue to say that Yui was sent to scout ahead...but it was strange. There was a noticeable difference in his voice, and his face flashed with anger...as if... 'Did Yui go on without permission?' He wondered to himself, but did not ask aloud. He would then go on to say they were lucky, glad they had returned, and depart.
As soon as he was gone, the avian would rise and say something was wrong and that it seemed fishy, though implied the military gave no effort in trying to look for surviving students. Chase wasn't quite sure what to think in that regard...the read he had on the man said Yui was not voluntarily sent. Perhaps not even with permission. And with how sure he seemed they were dead, after they had appeared from nowhere in all likelihood...Chase wasn't sure if the man had no evidence or decided to show them none. The avian would then say she is going after her, and apologize for her sonic attack. Chase was a bit confused though as she suddenly flew off. 'Was she faking her injuries?' He wondered silently. Once they had made it through the small tunnel away from the grimm, her wounds had seemed to almost debilitate her to where she could not fight. Yet now she was charging off for a rescue...He did not know how to feel about that, as he could not think of a way for her to be healed so fast. But it was not his business to stop her. And whether she lied or not, she would have to deal with Yui when she found her. He was curious to see her reaction to see a teammate suddenly all better when not long ago she could offer no help to anyone or even herself. Chase would take this chance...to do what he had been thinking of. Looking to Tabby, he would bow slightly...seeming nervous. "I...think I may stay a bit to help while I can. I...know some things about medicine, and I need to discuss a few things...But...this isn't the best place for my hound. So...I was wondering if you could...please watch him, and take him back to beacon where it is safe?" He would ask her, unsure if he should be doing so as he didn't want to burden her. However, she would agree, causing him to smile. "Thank you...sincerely. For now, this is goodbye. I hope to...see you later." He would finish with a smile, patting his hound on the head before giving it a silent command to follow Tabby. It would whine...but relent and walk to her side. With that done, Chase would quickly depart.
Chase would make his way through the camp, back to where he had first seen the man when they entered. While they may have given up on part of alpha, they would likely still be watching to try and help omega group. So he at least, hopefully, had a point of reference to find the man. If he found the commander, he would report on the events as he saw it and who contributed where. He would also report of Skylar going into the caves after Yui, primarily so if something bad occurred they would know to look for her. He would also ask a few questions/ make a request...One being about the bloody flag he found where they exited, to perhaps find who was there before and knew about cave/ potentially the item. The next was if he could learn about what the item discovered was and what it could do. And the final point, his request...was if he could assist the medical teams for when others arrived. As he wanted to be of assistance however he could.
Ren watched as the ambulances arrived and with gusto, they were placed upon them and they were off, with him and Sakura sharing one of them. He had one of them investigate both of his ears and he heard the bad news, he had suffered a ruptured ear drum and would be told he'd have to take it easy for a day or two at the most. Once they arrived back at main base, he got out with some gauze wrapped around his head. He could still hear but he wasn't at his best anymore. He reconvened with the others and the Commander of the operation as he listened as best as he could but when he heard that they were the only ones to return, his heart sank. Then he heard they had sent Yui on the scout ahead to check up before he looked to Skylar as she spoke some nonsensical words about knowing what happened, must've suffered from shock due to the scroll's existance. Her apology seemed half-hearted as Ren shook his head before he heard Chase speaking to Tabby and it made Ren think. Even if he were to chase after Yui, what help could he provide without his ears? His mixed drinks remaining were mostly volatile now that could detonate on the second journey down! No.... Chase had the right idea. "I'll have to stay too..... right now my ears won't function after my adrenaline ceases and that would leave me vulnerable to the attacks on the way down." He stated aloud while he looked to the commander. "Please, keep me up to date on how Yui is performing and if she is on her way." He told the man calmly as to fight back his urge to scream before he soon walked out of the tent.
On the outside of the tent, he was quick to run towards the nearest boulder and give it a firm kick as he screamed in anguish! He couldn't provide help for his boss as Skylar would be able to, and as he kicked as hard as he could, he left a rather decent crack where he kicked. Afterwards, he moved towards the medical truck and decided to stay by Sakura's side as they tended to her unconscious body.
