"Oh, yeah! Certainly it’s not a problem," Sebastian remarked to the inquiry of if they could sit, giving a pleasant nod along before taking a moment to assure his things were properly locked away. He might make more poffins after all but that wasn’t happening if someone or something came along and consumed all his berries. It didn’t even seem to bother him that well, Trey was already moving to complete the requested act.
He followed a bit, glancing at Cherish as he was set down and then at Rummy, who was still grinning and trying to poke at the fluff ball, completely oblivious to the fact that this creature didn’t seem to want anything to do with him. He watched in wonder as Cherish reappeared and tackled the little thing before following their trainers, looking over in surprise and opting… to not do the same but instead disappear under the table; something Sebastian missed.
"Mm hm… I see," Sebastian murmured as Trey gave his input, trying hard not to stare as he translated for himself from the sign language to speech. It was hard not to come off as weird when you had that kind of communication barrier that required always looking, but he made the most of the situation all the same. "Well alright! I think I could probably get him up for a cool contest, and Kaiser for tough…," his mind was already swimming at the thought and as he plopped a seat down next to Trey, Sebastian took a moment to dig through his things and see what supplies he had available to adjust movesets and whatnot.
"Roar and Growl? That sounds like a funny combination," he commented. A combo of sound based moves? How odd. He stopped in his rummaging and looked at Trey to retrieve his pokedex, Bluff wiggling in his lap to try and catch his attention. "So where are you from, Trey? IF you don’t mind me asking. Do you get t osee a lot of contest stuff?"

Empress Jingu jumped back with surprise at Riptide's surprise landing, but made certain to send Susan a scathing side-glare in the process; she wasn't the trainer here! She took a few deep breaths, centering and recomposing herself, and once done she slipped immediately into sticking her tongue out at Riptide, showing that she wasn't afraid of the villain. At the same time, light began to gather from atop her stem, another Solar Beam in the works. She kept it much smaller than her previous attacks, and raised it a few millimeters above her head in lieu of chucking it. There it took form, into a literal shining halo, with strips of light dancing at her feet; they couldn't forget the role they each played, now could they?

Trey leaned back on the bench and crossed one leg over the other, looking at Sebastian as he talked. He nodded quietly as Sebastian mused over his response, looking down at his pokemon. Slowly, his brow began to furrow as he... noticed something. "... I didn't mean together. One can set the other up," he clarified distractedly. He glanced over at the question, his expression deadpanning. "... A place," he replied obscurely. He didn't get personal, especially not with strangers. Realizing that was probably an awkward and odd response, he quickly followed up with, "Where's your leafeon?" hoping to redirect the conversation.
How Sebastian hadn't noticed, he wasn't sure. Cherish and Shade had followed them over and settled near their feet, but there was a distinct lack of the energetic grass type. Not to mention, both of Trey's pokemon were staring back at where Rummy had disappeared, as if waiting to see if he showed up again, or try to determine what, exactly, he was up to.

"Oh," Sebastian responded sheepishly, rubbing behind his ear as he revealed a moment in his embarrassment. Well then that certainly made more sense, didn’t it? How silly of him; he should’ve known better. Of course, contests were different than battling, so it was normal he’d mess up like that right? Still though….
The long-haired man blinked and couldn’t help but give Trey a rather odd look at his response to his question. Well yes, certainly everyone came from ‘a place’; what an odd answer to give a person. It took him a moment to conclude that maybe Trey was a private individual; which was perfectly fine. A little odd given the whole ‘going to preform contests’ business, but acceptable. "I see. Well, it’s nice to meet you Trey." He replied with a grin, trying to return the chipper moment.
And then of course the fateful question. Where was Rummy? Sebastian blinked and took a look around, immediate look of horror crossing his face as he noticed the Leafeon was nowhere in sight. While he might’ve been less worried about Kaiser’s whereabouts, Rummy was a completely different story. "Rummy!" He called out, immediately getting to his feet and scoping the area. Thank goodness for his height as he spotted the Leafeon flinging himself under a different table just a way away. How’d he get so far? "Blackjack, will you go follow Rummy?" He immediately told the Houndoom, receiving a look and a nod before the dog was following the other pokemon’s scent.
Still though, he’d have to go get him and Sebastian gave Trey an apologetic look. "Ah thank you! And sorry, I think I better go get him." Bluff wiggled in his hands, looking clearly miffed at the antics of her fellow pokemon. Sebastian took a moment though to dig out his communicator, gesturing with it. "Would you like to exchange contact info? I’m thinking I’ll do more on contests and I’d appreciate having someone with your expertise to refer to if you don’t mind. I won’t hassle or anything, you know. Just, questions or more poffin making and stuff! If that’s okay?"

Trey smiled a little, glad to see the guy wasn't too easily phased by his.... admittedly weird actions. He gave a nod in return, but his attention was redirected to the pokemon, and as such, the missing one. He watched as the other guy seemed to panic, and subsequently, send one of his other pokemon after him. Blackjack, huh? And Rummy? That.... He knew the first was a card game, wasn't it? And the second was.... alcohol...? Huh.... He was kind of surprised the guy didn't just bolt after his pokemon himself, honestly.
He looked up as the guy addressed him again, nodding with raised eyebrows, but lowered eyelids. It wasn't the most impressive moment, but he tried not to appear judging. "No problem," he signed in response. He blinked as the guy pulled out his communicator, pausing, before taking it to put in his contact information. Actually, this worked for him. He could get back to training, give Cherish the poffin, get to work on figuring out what he was going to do for Shade, and he now had the contact information of an individual he could use "work with" to make better poffins. "Sounds good. Poffins are usually better with more people involved anyway," he admitted, apparently assuming that Sebastian took the rest as permission. He didn't.... mind answering questions and such too much, especially if the guy was going to help him make poffins he could use. He glanced back over towards where the houndoom had run off. "Good luck," he added.

The logic of chasing after Rummy himself certainly hadn’t failed to cross Sebastian’s mind, but in such a crowded place (and past experiences) he was aware that it was best to start off with a tracker and then catch up from there. Not that Trey or anyone else would know that thought process or anything else really.
He was mostly calm though for the fact that this wasn’t a place that the Leafeon could (hopefully) pick a fight. Waiting patiently as Trey put in his information (and totally not noting the rather odd look the teen gave him in response to his situation) he grinned and took it back, glancing at the screen before tucking it away.
"Great! Sounds great, thank you Trey! If you need anything lemme know as well!" Because Sebastian wasn’t about one way partnerships and if he could help he could! Especially with the poffin stuff; the less he was involved in cooking by himself the better the goods would be. And it was always nice to chatter with someone with shared interests. It made it all the more exciting. Snatching up his things and carefully tucking the poffin and Bluff away, he gave a little salute-wave to the teen.
"You too! I look forward to seeing you pull some awesome combos!" He remarked and turned, disappearing between the crowds of people on the trail of his pokemon as quickly as possible. Because even if Rummy couldn’t get in a fight, he could get in trouble. And that… still wasn’t good.

He smiled a little more, giving a wave, before dropping his expression to his neutral one, and looking back down at his pokemon. He paused, then pulled out his pokedex, and drawing up Shade's information. Really, he was so perfect for smart contests, but he wasn't sure what he coudl do. He paused before sending JR a text, so that he wouldn't have to risk talking to anyone, and decided to do some shopping. Maybe that would help give him some inspiration....

It took a bit for JR (and Wesley...) to find them, the teen eying his companion's angry looking pokemon a moment, before handing him a piece of paper. He'd taken the time to write down a general shopping list, and JR stared at it for a solid moment, before raising an eyebrow, lifting his gaze back to the teen, and handing it back. "No," he stated flatly. Trey blinked, furrowed his brows, and stared as he took the paper back. JR took the chance to fold his arms over his chest. "I'm not shopping for you," he explained.
Trevor dropped his shoulders, his mouth opening in disbelief as he stared. "I'm not your slave, just your bodyguard. And translator. Even those, are pushing it. Suck it up," the older man quickly quipped, ending the discussion. Trey grimaced, but pocketed the list, for the time being, and turned, walking his way towards the shopping area. He scooped up Shade on his way, Cherish trotting along at his heels. At least his pokemon were cooperative...

After a few minutes of just walking around and looking at things, Trey stopped to check what his current cash balance was. He didn't want to blow everything, so he did a quick budget. He could.... probably buy a few things. And a scarf? He'd still have some left over, so maybe a conditioner, too. Or.... maybe he could get a Maiden Ball. He was pretty happy with the pokeballs he had at the moment, though, but still, that would come in handy for whichever pokemon he got next. At the same time, he could use more accessories, and just... more in general. So maybe it wouldn't hurt to get some more money, first....

Considering a moment, he turned, signing a quick game plan to JR who sighed, rolled his eyes, but seemed to comply, thankfully. He moved off to a separate area, and crouched down, placing Shade on the ground and propping his arms up on his knees. "Look Shade, I want ta try doin' a contest wit' you, but we need to practice performin' wit' yer moves first, alright?" he explained. The puff ball looked up at him, and by the open, receptive stare, he just... assumed that was confirmation. Sighing, he stood up, looking back over to JR, and signing, "You can wander if you want, this might be a bit." Because talking was only reserved for the necessary circumstances of communicating with his pokemon.

Surprisingly, JR actually decided to stick around, though it clearly wasn't to watch the performance. He just sat down on the closest bench, and seemed to go back to work, with Wesley standing beside him, looming over his shoulder and squinting at what he was doing with a critical eye. Seriously, that wigglytuff was whack. Trey paid it no mind, however; he focused on practicing a few moves with Shade, realizing that there was some potential but, like he thought, it was going to be difficult. At least until it evolved. Which, evidently, wasn't.... likely to happen for a bit. And in the meantime, he would really need to get some official ribbons, just in case.
For now, though, he fed Cherish his poffin, picked up Shade, and went in search of an opponent, JR standing and trailing behind to assist with communication.

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Riptide, the Aklor and Susan, the Gardevoir
There wasn't much time left, only enough time for one more show of style. Austin and Riptide both felt that this was going to be a very close contest. After Empress Jingu's dazzling display, Riptide glared and growled angrily. So, what will Riptide do? Susan inquired. Maybe Riptide bite again? But, the sparky bite. Austin thought about Susan's suggestion. It honestly wasn't a bad idea, but he needed to make sure it was enough to surpass Naomi and Jingu. It's not a bad idea. but we need to make it special... But then, genius struck him. He and Riptide were playing the villain, after all. So what if they won by losing?
"Oh no! Empress Jingu is too strong! Riptide can't survive her solar halo!" Riptide didn't quite understand until Susan keyed him in telepathically. Use Thunder Fang and play dead for Dalpha. Riptide nodded before letting out an exaggerated cry and filling his mouth with electricity. His mouth shined brightly, almost as if he was actually affected by Jingu's Solar Beam. And with that, Riptide recoiled back like he had been blasted away, when in reality it was just his discharge pushing him away from Empress Jingu. "You may have defeated The Shipwrecker today, Empress, but we'll be back, stronger than ever!" While the display was campy, Riptide's death throes were very interesting to the crowd and the judges, and many cheered for the felled villain and his coordinator. Now the only thing left was for Naomi and Jingu to respond. But Austin felt that he and Riptide had stolen the show with their villainy.
Naomi watched in both amusement and awe as Riptide rocketed back from Jingū with the use of his Thunder Fang, keeping up the appearance of a retreating villain. keeping the audience enthralled. Despite his role as the 'bad guy', it seemed Riptide had become the audience's favorite, for now at least. They didn't have much time, so if they were going to cement their win they had to win the crowd back with the sort of display that had yet to be witnessed; it was just a shame that Naomi couldn't actually... think of what to do, in this time. He breathed out slowly, calming his nerves and urging himself to think. For their first contest, the duo had done surprisingly well, with Jingū doing a fine job of showing off her moves. They'd suffer some heavy damage from Riptide's snapping maw, but it wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed. The dark-haired youth exhaled again, mind working, before suddenly brightening as an idea came to mind. Was it even possible? He wasn't sure. But, if they were going to do that then he needed to build up to it with an overwhelming show of dramatics.
"We will be ready for you, Shipwrecker!" Naomi called out, voice echoing across the makeshift stage. "You can train all you want, just know that you will never beat the Empress and I!" Jingū turned around to look at her trainer, curious to see what he wanted her to do. Right now, all he seemed to be doing was talking, but... she trusted him to know what to do. "Because at the end of the day, good always triumphs over evil!" Moving quickly, Naomi indicated for Jingū to run out towards the crowd, just as his speech came to an end. He waited until she began to follow his silent command before issuing another one, "now, Empress Jingū! Use Solar Beam and Razor Leaf!"
A call for two moves!? Could she do that? Jingu nearly stopped in her tracks, surprised, but steadily continued on. Yes! She could totally do this, probably. She just needed to... concentrate. Sliding to a stop right in front of the audience, Jingu didn't even wait for the dust to settle before scrunching up her face in a show of intense concentration. She started with the solar beam first, light taking over her body and fading out her natural colors before producing a small ball of light centimeters form her stem. She took a deep breath. Keeping its small, compact form, she summoned a trail of leaves from within to begin to fill and then expand it, or at least giving the appearance that it was. She took another breath. When the Bounsweet felt her mini piñata was at full capacity, she shot the ball straight into the air, where it exploded into a brilliant light. The leaves, catching fire, began to rain back down to their owner, only to fizzle out seconds before reaching her and causing her harm. Through it all, Jingū held her head (or entire body) high and kept a stoic, albeit brave, expression throughout the exploding confetti. She was Empress Jingū and, against her, villainy stood no chance. "BOUN!"

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Riptide, the Aklor and Susan, the Gardevoir
The crowd had gone deafening with the cheers that rang out for Empress Jingu and Naomi. Riptide stopped playing dead, and looked at his trainer for their next move. But, there wasn't anything else to do. Austin had a feeling deep in his stomach: they lost. And, after the judges convened, Austin wasn't too surprised at the outcome.
"After careful consideration, we have decided that the winner of this Cool Contest is...Shimizu Naomi and Empress Jingu!" As the audience applauded Naomi and Jingu, Austin sighed happily and offered a simple bow. Now, Dallas hated losing. But, seeing how much fun he was having and how passionate Naomi was getting, he couldn't help but be content with second place. Once the crowd started to die down, Austin retrieved Riptide, giving the shark a nice hug, and walked up to Naomi. "I have to admit, I didn't expect to lose," he said kindly, "But losing to such an amazing display is well worth the feeling of defeat. Well done, Naomi." Even Riptide seemed to have enjoyed himself, though Susan seemed to huff beside Austin. "You'd be wise to thank Mr. Tucker for his aid, by the way."

Luckily, it wasn't too hard to find someone interested in showing off their pokemon in a Smart contest. In fact, the gentleman who accepted the challenge seemed almost irritatingly proud of his pokemon. Not that he wasn't somewhat justified, the vivillion was gorgeous, but still. It's Polar Pattern had clearly been shined to sparkle and catch the light as its wings fluttered, and Trey set up on the stage with a wary expression. Arceus. He wasn't actually sure he'd win this one. But, it would be good practice for Shade. He looked down at t he pokemon, who was watching their opponent curiously, but moved around in his hands to stare back up at him with that one, wide, brilliantly colored eye. He could hear a few whispers about how cute the puff ball was, and wouldn't it be better in a Cute contest, but ignored it.
They were given some time to prepare, and with a slight smile, Trey used the accessories he'd bought, and one more he'd purchased on during his search. It was.... adorable and almost silly, when he was done, but he didn't care. It worked. It fit the theme. And when he returned to the stage with a wry smile, he could hear the coos and laughs and squeals of enjoyment from some of the nearby bystanders. It was, after all, pretty cute.
