Getting to the class today was no extravagant process, for which Yin was certainly grateful. They entered a simple clearing, with leather shapes stacked up. He briefly pondered what Mot could do with that amount of leather, but dismissed the thought as Mistress Cybele began to speak, her confident voice clearly resounding in his ears. The Horsewoman made no sense. Yes, relying on FEAR was a definite weakness. Which was precisely why he had been taught to use it as a last resort. To rely on his body and nothing else. Perhaps what she was saying simply did not apply to him. FEAR was a last resort in most cases, or used just to test it, to keep in practice. It was certainly not the only trick up his sleeve. So he attempted to keep his mind open about the ideas that she might present, though knowing the Horsemen's stance on weapons he was not entirely sure that he could agree with her. But to argue with a ghoul? It was simply not in him. Not a leader at least, and not to tell her that she was wrong when she may be teaching them something valuable. It appeared that the leather things were almost humanoid. Almost as they did not even have faces and the one she had was simply there. Motionless. Something that she had just announced was used for scarelings. They would be fighting the opponents of children. And they were supposed to just go out into the forest and fight them? He had had combat instruction before. He knew there was something to be said about inexperienced fighters going against other beginners and even more experienced fighters. But with so many at once he was beginning to suspect that they may not be trying to actually train them in the arts of war. Run. Run, center, and grab whatever weapons they could use because they may find themselves without a weapon. Yes, things could happen to his teeth or claws. But his entire body was a weapon. He could kick, knee, elbow, punch, slap, claw, spine, bite, headbutt, and he knew how to turn several of those types of attacks deadly. Few thought to protect their necks against spines on the back of an elbow. To think that one could only fight with sharpened body parts was senseless. And if all of those options were taken from him he would not be able to fight with a weapon. He would not be able to lift it. So while she may have been trying to frighten them with the idea of mutilation he was not focused on it. They had their mission. And he would obey. He would play by their rules and he would be good at it. He had grown up doing that. So as others began to run he stayed still, closing his eyes, and in his own small, small way defied the Horsewoman. He did not center as she had taught, becoming aware of the environment. He centered as Nurse Cricket had taught him, focusing inward. Assessing himself. Knowing who he was and what he was capable of. So he was late entering the forest. He could trust his speed to keep him ahead but all weapons seemed to be gone from the area. His mannequin was right behind him and he needed a distraction. Scrambling he grabbed at some loose dirt and flung it toward the enemy's eyes, a low move, but at least it was relying on the forest. Apparently his meditation had worked. The thrown dirt was so effective that it managed to blind a mannequin with no face, and when it took a swing at him it missed and he was up and darting through the forest, looking for a weapon. Alex was still backing away, attempting to defend himself with raised arms as the mannequin continued to try and rain blows down around the zomboils head. His foot caught against something; a rock, perhaps; and he began falling backwards. Somehow, whether it was from all of the training Yin had given him or whether centering himself before this matchup started, or possibly a combination of both, Alex managed to fall almost gracefully to the ground, and rolled, coming back up to his feet with a stick in his hand. Now was not the time for ingenuity, now was the time to whack the crazy mannequin with a tree branch! Wielding his new weapon, it reminded Alex slightly of the time he had used his leg bone to attempt to hit Yin in the head, only this time, he was not feeling so weak. In fact, he was feeling quite strong, and refreshed. And this time, he wasn't going to have his weapon wrenched from his hand and be told off for attempting to use it. Moving towards the mannequin now instead of backing away as he had been doing previously, he swung the branch towards what would be considered the side of the mannequins head, the stick making a whistling sound in the air. It connected, but not nearly as hard as he had intended as it somehow managed to block the weapon, deflecting it enough so that it just glanced off of the top of the mannequins head. And now it was charging at him again, though it's movements were not so swift anymore, and the stitching almost seemed to be coming loose in several places. Really, where were all of these weapons that she had spoken of? Were they seriously expected to just take up a bit of wood and club the creature with it? He scanned the area and that was his best option, a bit of would that he scooped off the ground without stopping and then he turned and charged the mannequin, swinging the branch and feeling odd doing so. It was a foolish move, but he hoped to gain the element of surprise. And he did. The stick landed a good whack on the mannequin, but unfortunately that did not slow it. It lashed out, deceptively fast as the blow caught him, sending him to the ground. He was falling, but he was not a boil that relied on his Fear. He tucked, rolling as he hit the ground, hissing in pain as a clumsily kicked out mannequin foot caught him. His stick had fallen when he was pushed but he picked it up as he rolled, and immediately went back on the offensive. Most probably would have gotten their feet back under him first, but he had barely mad it to a crouch when he attacked with his stick. It busted against the mannequin's leg but he liked to believe that it faltered, as if the energy was not there to continue attacking him as it had been. As if he was making a stand. Right now he could use his foot. Hook the mannequin's ankles. Knock it off balance and take it out while it was down. But today he was playing by their rules. SWEET VICTORY! As he tried to roll and scramble to put damage between him and the mannequin to put distance between them he found his next weapon. A hefty rock. He had skipped rocks as a scareling, and knew a bit about them. And he had seen and received enough wounds from them that he knew they were a force to consider. Long fingers scraped against the surface, digging it from where it was partially buried in the dirt, the cool underbelly of the rock merely driving home what was going on. He was using weapons to attack this thing. It annoyed him and he turned toward it. This mannequin...it was for scarelings. When it punched him he took the blow, turning with it, and really was not all that bothered by it. He took the rock and began striking it until it had quit, standing over it and looking down. Maybe tomorrow she would actually teach them something. A somewhat disgruntled mantodae could be seen leaving the forest and headed toward the village. He could understand arrows perhaps, something for a distance. But that was not his style of fighting, and despite what she said he knew what he was capable of. He simply wished that he could show it. SWEET VICTORY! The mannequin, jerky and slightly broken as it was, was still coming at Alex as though it were intent on destroying him. The last blow he had dealt had given it pause though, and allowed him enough time to turn and try to put some distance between himself and it, looking around for some type of element of the jungle he could use to his advantage. He still held the stick he had wielded against the mannequin, clutched tightly in his hand as he moved, though he could hear his opponent crashing through the underbrush behind him. Soon his eyes caught the shape of something sticking up out of the ground. It was a... Bigger stick! More like a club then a stick, almost. Alexander dropped the one he was currently carrying, grabbing a hold of this new one with two hands. It seemed to be tangled up in the grass, moss and vines, so he had to wrench at it quite hard, and in the meantime, his mannequin was gaining on him. He could hear it as it closed in behind him, but he didn't turn to look, just set himself to the task at hand. Had to get this stick free, had to have a weapon. He was shoved roughly from behind, the mannequin having stopped and directed a kick towards Alex's lower back. He gritted his teeth against it though, stumbling forward and twisting the club as he went, finally managing to pull it loose. Lifting up a foot, he spun around in place, brandishing his new, bigger, and more powerful stick! This time when he swung towards the mannequin's head, it did not have time to react, and the club thudded against it with a resounding crack as the stick split in two, splinters of would flying up into the air and stinging against Alex's face. It was done, though. The mannequin had crumpled to the ground in a heap, and Alex stood over it, victorious. Training exercise for horsemen clan scarelings? Alexander hoped that he had just proved that the horsemen clan should maybe take the students of Amityville a little more seriously then that. Discarding his broken 'weapon' on the ground, and shoving his hands into his pockets, he turned to shamble off, frowning in thought as he left. Beehive shattered, stick fragmented, and nothing good in site Sammy was left with one thing to try and stop the dolls fury as it came lunging at her with a series of strikes. She dug her feet deep into the dirt kicking as much as she could into the air, apparently it wasn't enough as the doll continued to strike even while being torn apart by bee's sending Sammy stumbling back into the tree.

She was pinned; the bees swarmed and continued to sting at the doll even as it pressed her back against the tree unleashing another series of punches. However all she needed was an opening. As the bee's continued to sting and swarm the doll would make the mistake of flinching, it was just enough time for Sammy to kick it square in the gut knocking it flat on its a**.
She wasted no time grabbing a fragment of wood from the stick leaping atop it, she was sure it didn't have a heart, but it was well worth it to stab it where one would have been anyway. The shard of wood slammed down cutting into the doll causing it to spasam and shiver before suddenly laying still.
"Game over." She stood up grabbing the doll by the neck, waving away the last of the bees before dragging the still mannequin back to drop in the middle of the clearing. Danny's feet pounded through the forest, crunching twigs and leaves. If she was trying to stalk silently, it wasn't working very well. Then again, Danny had never really been one for the silent style. She preferred to punch and kick loudly, let the enemy know she was there, and fight honorably. Maybe if she had her dagger from weapon's class she could do something a little more ... presentable, but that was broken and there was absolutely nothing she could do.
Her eyes began searching the forest floor for another means of attacking. The same thing happened, all she saw were sticks, leaves and dirt- none of which made for very good weapons. IF ONLY she could attack through her own means.
As she looped around, her eyes caught her little vine trap once more. The dummy was nowhere in sight- so it must've gotten up. It was probably somewhere behind her.
Actually, very close behind her. It latched out and tackled her to the ground. After a few moments of kicking and squabbling, Danny finally pulled out on top and punched the thing in the face, sending it recoiling for a moment, so Danny could get up and run again. Her eyes caught the vine trap once more.
Well it had worked pretty well the first time- why shouldn't it do well a second time?
Danny kept running, and the dummy eventually got up and started chasing her again. What she would do for her fireballs right now. She was beginning to run out of breath! This was getting somewhat painful, all this running. She could do it though. She didn't go on morning jogs for nothing!
So her options were: turn around and fight the mannequin, or take the time to redo her trap. The fighting might be good, but these were horsemen dummies. Who knew what kind of tricks they had up their sleeves. It was possibly that they were trained dummies and could take her out in a second. On the other hand, Danny really was running breath and wasn't sure if she could take running around the other side again.
Either way, she didn't have any more time to decide. Danny looped around and bounded over her vine trap, her feet narrowly missing the edge. Apparently they forgot to give these dummies artificial intelligence to learn and adapt, because the stupid thing fell for it a second time. Danny 2, Dummy 0.

Amphi stared at the horsewoman before frowning. They were being put out into the wild to use weapons and attack a mannequin? Oh my Jack. She whispered a small prayer to her goddess before womaning up.
She needed to get this done.
"Okay...." She stared at the forest and took a dive in, The mannequin followed right after her. She grabbed a stick and smacked the mannequin away. It looked like it did some damage.

She was panting, but this was really working! Danny could see small spots on the dummy where the leather covering was beginning to unravel. Stitches were breaking. Dirt was smeared on it from all the times it had fallen. Was she actually ... winning? Danny smiled to herself. She'd have something to show off to her friends alright! She freakin' loved this class.
Danny looped around the tree and performed the same action. Why waste a good thing?
This time though, she jumped over it and, in a moment of clumsiness, tripped over the very vine trap she had set. Danny let out a grunt, but lay there on the ground for a moment. s**t. s**t. She panicked and began flailing to untangle herself, then pushed off the brown dirt. She really didn't want to lose this class and look like a failure.
She'd already failed once today after all, with Edel. She'd tried to embarrass the ice demon and ended up completely embarrassing herself with the arrow in her wings. She'd gotten it fixed, probably thanks to Edel (which Danny would never admit), but it was the humiliation that hurt the most.
On the plus side, the dummy was looping around too, and fell for the trap as well.
On the downside, it looked like the vine was beginning to fray. It snapped as the doll tripped over it a third time. At least the stupid thing was beginning to wear down- Danny could see rips and tears along the side of the doll- that meant she was winning right? Another seam split, and Danny inwardly cheered. She didn't have time for any outwardly stuff, because she was already on her feet and running again. Panting, but still running. She had to win. It just wasn't a question.
It was almost sad how little Danny care about the demonoid shape of it. It was nearly the same as her, though lifeless, it was animated. Should she have put more emphasis on caring? Maybe, but if she did ... she'd end up with a FEAR shield down.

Amphi huffed as the mannequin continued after her before shuffling up. Gosh, Weapons were easier to use then her own FEAR attacks. Not that she had any.
"Weapon, Weapon...Weapon." She breathed as she hid behind a tree, her eye's searched for something to help something..."There. That should do something." She grabbed a tree vine and tied it between two tree's and waited. The mannequin cam lurching through tripping over it. But just as she celebrated, the mannequin jumped up and attacked her.
"No way!"

[[Entering]]
Shehk felt like she'd been waiting an eternity to actually get in some good combat that didn't just wipe the floor with her. Not to say that she didn't still have every chance in the world to get the floor wiped with her. Seriously, she was so riddled with bruises and her knees were achey and then there was that stupid stuff with the phone and..
Dummies to fight. She was practically radiating excitement, tail wagging as she leaned in close to listen to every word that spilled from their teacher's lips. She seemed pretty smart in the way of teaching what seemed like very basic things. Yes, it was basic.
But Shehk had been hard pressed for a lesson in combat ever since....
No.
She had to not think about that. Still, she took a moment to take a deep breath and relax the thought away before it seemed it was time to get going. To take the jungle and use it as a weapon. She was so ready for that. Yes, she couldn't help it. Battle. She wanted to feel like she wasn't the same scrawny little ghoul who had walked into the school two years ago - that ghoul who did more damage to herself with a drum, that ghoul who didn't even try to do battle in the snow but instead sort of..sulked along after people.
That ghoul who couldn't do anything to help herself in the Haunted House half a year ago.
That's why she was there. That's why she looked at the dummy for a moment before she moved to run into the greenery to take up the task of finding a weapon. To be honest, she nearly tripped over the vine when she found it. So it was almost like it had found her, the pricolici taking a brief moment to pick it up and look it over in her hands thoughtfully. A vine.
She could do something with this and all the trees she had to work with.
Shehk wasted no time when she moved to suddenly wrap it around two of the closest trees, making a point to stand with it between her and the dummy. Waiting for it to find her. To come after her. She was her own bait. If it didn't work, she'd come up with something else - but as had been said, they weren't made to think.
They were made to run headlong into vines and ensnare themselves, practically hearing the 'crack' of it smashing into them. Shehk grinned. Score for slow and steady. she thought to herself, but wasted no time once it had figured out how to get around that to get moving to continue on away from it, feeling the brush of those leathery fingers as it grabbed onto her tail and yanked her back, causing her to nearly yelp in pain, kicking the dummy before moving to flee.
She had gotten good at running, at least.

SWEET VICTORY! Apparently the part of Shehk that was meant to be savage wasn't always a bad thing, suddenly turning on the dummy as it continued to follow her and picking up the first thing she could get her hands on - both of them, actually! For someone as small and unmuscular as Shehk was, she looked like a beast as she picked up the rock in both hands, just waiting for the dummy that was coming after her to come into sight.
She'd show it.
She'd make it her b***h. No seriously, Shehk really looked ready to go to town on something holding the rock in her hands firmly. The second the dummy came into sight, however, she immediately used the damn thing like it was a hammer in her hands, bringing it down upon her training opponent with almost a sickening crunch as it stopped and flopped down on the ground, motionless.
For a moment, Shehk only stared.
Forever stared.
