SWEET VICTORY! Okay, lesson learned. Canon passed by the next rock that presented itself as it was even larger than the last one. Just a few yards further on, though, she came upon a small tumble of stones. Most were too big, but there were a few that were just about the right size. Canon wrapped her hand around one, and was taken by surprise as the mannequin barreled into her bodily, throwing her off the pile and through the air. She landed with a whump that drove all the breath out of her breathing holes, but she managed to stay focused, and still had the rock in hand. Sitting up, she chucked it at the mannequin with all her might. The rock made a very satisfying crack as it hit the mannequin in the head. It wavered, steadied, and then crashed to the forest floor. Canon cautiously walked over and poked it with her foot. Yep. Dead. A little bruised, but otherwise triumphant Canon march back towards the dorm rooms, whistling a rather strange marching tune through her breathing holes. HP: 11 - 3 = 8 Opponent's HP: 1 - 6 = K.O. It was a bit hard keeping his eyes on the ground for weapons while running as fast as he could, but Roch seemed to be managing. He dodged through the trees, zigzagging back and forth to try and gain himself some time. The mannequin, though, knew these woods better than he did, even if it was a brainless object. Or maybe it was locked in on his FEAR. He caught sight of a rock and grabbed it, twisting and throwing it at the mannequin, but honestly, Roch's aim had never been the greatest. It barely grazed the mannequin and was tossed right back at him, making him grunt before racing away again. When he saw Mot again, he swore he would take more lessons in aiming before doing anything long distance. The Reaper ghoul headed out into the woods as soon as Cybele announced that they should leave. Unfortunately she seemed to get one of the early mannequins assigned to her, so she didn't have very long to find something useful to attack with. She heard the thing crashing through the undergrowth behind her, and she tried to either speed up or find something she could use against it. It wasn't any use, though, and suddenly she heard it crash straight through a bush she had dodged around. She only had time to move far enough to the side to mitigate its blow.
She simply couldn't wait any longer, she had to choose something, anything nearby to use as a weapon. As she stumbled under the attack, she saw a large stick on the ground. She grabbed it, swinging it up towards the mannequin, and was surprised when she got a solid blow in. She managed to knock the mannequin back, hard enough that it toppled over. Taking advantage of the extra time, she scrambled back fully to her feet and turned, continuing on.

SWEET VICTORY!Another stick, Roch thought, scooping it up without even losing stride. He turned, swinging it like a pro baseball player and slamming the mannequin back against the tree behind it. It fell down the tree, unmoving. He walked over to it, poking it with a stick a few times before shrugging--and slinging the stick over his shoulder like he would his guitar before heading back to where the teacher lady had sent them off from. He felt GOOD. But she didn't look too impressed. Then again, there were students leaving in front of him, telling him that he hadn't even been one of the first to finish. Ah well, he was getting used to making an a** of himself in this clan, he thought as he headed back for the dorms. Behind her she could hear the mannequin as it thrashed in the bush, finally freeing and righting itself. She had to find something more dangerous than the stick, which had done her well but also looked to be in bad shape from its introduction to the mannequin. It looked distinctly damaged, and although she wasn't going to throw it aside until she found something better, she also was certain it wouldn't last for more than another hit or two. As she kept moving, she suddenly spotted a large rock. Perfect! She tossed the stick off to the side, not sure how exactly the mannequins tracked. If it was by her FEAR, she couldn't really hide from it, but if it followed by some sort of other senses perhaps that would distract it. She then found a large rock that was well hidden in bushes; she could stand on it and jump at the mannequin, and it might not see her until it was close. It seemed that it knew exactly where to find her, and her attempts at hiding had been in vain, but at least the higher ground offered her a good vantage point from which to attack. She leaped at the mannequin, and although it managed to thump her soundly on the leg, she badly cracked its head with her rock. The thing was noticeably damaged now, not slowing down, but she was pretty sure another attack or two would be enough to finish it. Before she could attack the mannequin again, it knocked her rock out of her hand. The blow was hard enough to knock Mitzi backward, and if it was still that strong even heavily damaged, she didn't want to fight it without a weapon. So she scrambled to get turned around and heading away from it. At least damaged, it was moving more slowly, and she now actually had time to hunt around for a proper weapon. She heard an odd sound, which although she didn't recognize it, certainly made her think it might be caused by something dangerous. After hunting around a bit, she found a beehive. She didn't really know what it was, but the bugs flying in and out sure looked dangerous, and she suspected they'd be happy to attack anything they saw as a threat. The trick would be getting the mannequin with them without getting them interested in her as well. She looked around and found another stick, picking this one for length rather than strength, and then she climbed up the tree. She slipped a few times, but managed to catch herself. And by the time the mannequin had found her, she was well situated, on the opposite side of the tree from the mannequin. It stumbled towards her, and she waited, hoping it would stop right under the beehive. It was in a direct line, but as much as that would have helped at the beginning, the mannequin's erratic steps made that less of a guarantee now. For a moment it looked like the mannequin was going to sway out of line, and there weren't any branches she could move to to get the angle right, but then it rocked back. She held her breath as it got closer, and then it was right in front of the beehive. From her perch, Mitzi started poking at the beehive, trying to knock it down. She suddenly realized it was stuck better than she had expected, and for a moment she was scared she would only anger the insects flying in and out, without actually knocking it free. Then suddenly the hive was falling, and landed -splat- right on the mannequin! The mannequin went down, flailing briefly before the insects managed to finish it off. Unfortunately, as it was right at the base of the tree, Mitzi herself couldn't get down right away. When she realized it might take a while, she figured she might as well practice the meditation as she waited. The particularly uncomfortable position made it difficult, but she ended up so focused on trying to properly meditate that by the time she opened her eyes again, the bees had mostly left. She carefully climbed down, looking around to see if any of the other Amityville students were around. It looked like, as much as she had killed her mannequin quickly, the fact that she'd had to wait for the bees to disperse had left her alone in this part of the woods. She'd just have to hope she could find her way back on her own. ((Exiting)) SWEET VICTORY! The dragon snarled, his tail slashing angrily. You want me to run? Well he wasn't going to, he was going to stand and fight! Holding one end of the vine in his hand, he lashed out with the other, wrapping it around the dummy and dragging it toward him. As he did, he yanked on the vine, tightening the hold on the dummy, his teeth gritting as he heard the satisfying crunch and tearing of fabric and whatever skeleton lay beneath. The doll wasted no time, after it had stolen Sammy's stick it turned it against her breaking the already weakened wood against Sammy's raised arms. It didn't stop though. The doll kept attacking, with no need to hunt it simply approached her fists slamming against her. They must stuff stones in the hands with how hard they hit.
Still Sammy didn't waver, arms up she blocked each strike before noticing something above her, a beehive. She didn't hesitate she simply spun about avoiding a blow to the head and planting her foot into the side of the tree shaking the hive loose. It landed with a thunk atop the doll a swarm of bee's stinging and biting at it.

If there were any comments about the dummies, Edel had kept them to herself. The ghoul stared at the crude leather, humanoid doll apprehensively, noticing immediately that its condition was worse for wear. Ah yes, these were used to train their children, or so she was informed. If she had been a little more confident about her abilities to do well without the use of her Fear, she might have found it insulting that they were being treated like children, as if it weren't already emphasized constantly by Cybele. But really, she wasn't in much of a position to complain or feel indignant. The ghoul was looking around the forest furtively to see what kind of ... weapons it had to offer.
Edel must have missed the call for GO, as she received a solid thwack on the head by the creepy, grosteque dummy. Thankfully it didn't take her as long to realise that it was in fact, coming after her, sending the ghoul into a mad dash through the woods. Right, she needed to find something to attack back with. Nothing better than a good old rock to do the trick.
Arming herself with the stone, the ghoul took aim and sent it crashing into what would have been the dummy's face if it had any. She watched as its head was knocked back a little too far before it craned back to stare right at her.
Okay. That was creepy.

The bees where a help, they stung and swarmed around the doll causing it to waver as it shooed the pests away. It seemed that they really put some life into these things. They wanted to avoid the stings as much as anyone else and that was the perfect time. Picking up the same hive Sammy moved behind the mannequin before smashing the remains atop its head sending another swarm of raging bees on the doll along with a bit of head trauma. Of course some of the bee's lashed back at her, but the price was small compared to what her victim was facing.

Edel suddenly remebered Cybele's call to find her center in the quick instant before battle. Feeling slightly perplexed that she seemed to have forgotten her first lesson and rushed into the fight so quickly, the ghoul quickly took a moment to calm her nerves and enter the state of emotional detachment and clinical acumen – find the target's weak spots and aim for them.
Maneuvering around the trees, Edel found another rock to arm herself with as she waited for the right moment – and BAM, it found its way squarely on the back of the dummy's head. The animated doll stumbled forwards a few steps before turning around and heading right towards her at an impressive speed. The frost demon got a nice kick into the back of her right knee just as she turned tail and headed off into the forest again. It would be in her best interests to end this quickly. There was only so long before she would run out of steam to continue this game of dodge and evasion.HP: 32 Opponent's HP: 4 /15 Weapon This Round: Rock Effect/Damage This Round: 5 Bonus Mechanics: 12+ meditation bonus - used Previous Posts: post 1

SWEET VICTORY!His vine had snapped under the aggression of his previous attack, leaving him weaponless before the dummy, seemingly vulnerable to its next strike. Ah, but he had a plan, for once he was thinking strategically. His eye had caught a large stick behind the dummy. It may not have been the best choice, but it would serve his purpose. And so he stood his ground, crouching, his body poised to take the dummy's attack. And take it he did, snarling as the strike hit home, but as the dummy struck, the dragon dropped to the ground, aiming low to roll under the dummy, then snatching the stick and springing to his feet. It was in a single fluid motion, the dragon charged, swinging the stick as hard as he could, snarling in satisfaction as the strike hit its mark, splintering through his target and breaking through the leather skin and skeleton beneath, leaving it in several pieces on the ground. A grim smirk, he was not a child. HP: 28/40 Opponent's HP: 0/15 Weapon This Round: stick Effect/Damage This Round: 8 Bonus Mechanics: unused Previous Posts:Round 1Round 2

SWEET VICTORY!Stumbling slightly with another kick delivered into the back of her knee, the ghoul began to observe her surroundings as she ran, looking for something that she might be able to use to her advantage. The golden opportunity eventually presented itself in the form of a sturdy vine, which had Edel quickly putting together a plan. Despite the doll not having any discernible facial features, the ghoul would be foolish to think that it could not see where it was going and that it had been merely chasing down her presence. Whatever she was planning to do, she had to do it quickly and discreetly.
Leading the dummy around the tree whilst ensuring a reasonably close distance between them, the ghoul quickly grabbed onto the vine and made a sharp 90 degree turn, pulling the vine taut between the two trees. Unfortunately for the animated doll, its reactions weren't as sharp, tripping over the trap immediately and landing face first into the forest floor. Edel waited for a while to see if it was still moving. No? Was she done here then ... ?
Edel waited for quite a while, wary that the doll may simply jump up and start after her any second. Still. Nothing. Had she defeated it right? The ghoul stared at the lifeless and limp body pensively. Alright then ... now was she supposed to bring the doll back? Not wanting to carry it back, the ghoul cut herself a nice length of the vine and dragged the dummy back to where they had started. The dummy was so lifelike. So real. Danny couldn't peel her eyes away from it. It was exhilarating, knowing that the mannequin would be her next sparring partner. The horsewoman said something odd though. They wouldn't be sparring here, it would be out in the forest. She was saying they needed to run, and the flame demoness didn't need to be told twice.
Danny was already bolting through forest as soon as the horsewoman gave her the "go." She could easily see what the horsewoman meant by being dependent on FEAR. Her first thought was to just burn the dummy down- only she realized she couldn't do a single thing thanks to her skull pin. She could ignite her FEAR ... but ... well that seemed like cheating!
As she streaked through the brown forest, her pulse rose a little. It was somehow very ... exciting. She knew she wasn't going to die. She knew the dummy wouldn't kill her. Perhaps it was a bit naive of her, but she trusted that the horsemen were not out to kill her.
So it resulted in a leisurely run through the forest, followed by some major fighting. It was .... well fun. Danny liked fighting, liked pushing her physical limits. The running also let her mind focus on the task at hand- things like breathing and where she was going next. She didn't have to think about Rikki, about Roch, where Edel was, if Moure was okay- she didn't have to think at all. It was a welcome relief for Danny because lately all she'd been doing was thinking. Thinking about the hunters, replaying images in her mind. The crisp snap of the gun as it-
The dummy was closing in on her and Danny immediately started looking around. What the hell was she supposed to use in this forest. Danny wish desperately to just turn around and smash the dummy in the stomach with a flaming fist. Perhaps that would've been too cruel. Too easy. She needed to do what the horsewoman instructor told her- think on her feet and what not. There were sticks littering the ground, but she couldn't stop to pick those up. It would take far too much time, far too much effort.
Vines! She could use those! At first she attempt to smack the dummy with the vines, like a whip- but Danny was not skilled with a whip. It promptly missed and flopped onto the ground uselessly.
A seldomly had idea struck. The dummy was a way off, and she had time. She wrapped one end of the vine around a thin tree and secured the other end on a tree nearby. Perfect! Her trap was set.
Danny looked at the mannequin and immediately did the most appropriate thing possible. She shook her damn a** and got the thing's attention. The dummy immediately began chasing her once more, and Danny leapt over the vine at the very last moment.
With a solid thwack, the mannequin smacked into the vine, tripping over it just as planned. The dummy went flying! While it was busy flailing around, Danny booked it, trying to come up with a new plan. It wasn't working very well in her head, but she never did function well with thinking. Best to just leap before you think!
