Just Before An Eclipse What do you think of a Language class for speech patterns or accents? I have difficulty adding colorful language to my character's dialogue even if I can imitate anything else. I don't know how exactly it would be taught however.
I would like to join. Time, skill and confidence would limit me to a student (though inquisitiveness helps a lot,) but there isn't enough of the first, at least until the end of the month for me. Therefore, I am unsure if I would be able to fall into your next PSY 101 or the one that will presumably be after that. We can probably roll a dialog unit into one of the LIT classes. Probably 301. And Jikial will probably be drug in to guest lecture on that. Also we could just do a guest lecture thing as the first Academy event. If Jikial is willing to do that. Or anyone else. It can be a panel. As for joining: If you want to be a student just submit the PM to Mel (Umbraja) like it says in the application post and do all that stuff I mentioned earlier. Let us know when you're ready to jump in and we'll make an opening with another QnA session. Or you'll catch the next class. Note: After this class of PSY 101 players might be able CLEP out of the class by submitting all the assignments via PM to me and a grade will be given based on that work. If you're not happy with the grade then you can just take the class. However if we need a player to fill out the class you might be asked to participate anyway (you've already got the assignments done so it shouldn't be hard) and just allowed to take other classes concurrently.

You like increasing procrastination don’t you? I truly am joking. I just wish the homework I currently had to do was intellectually stimulating. I’ll read Elsewhere later. Soon. Half to for Sam’s language and half, I admit, for The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy references.
I’m glad you think it’d be easy to teach. I would find a class such as that interesting also. I have found myself adept at understanding the context of language, but pronunciation has always been difficult for me. I will definitely try speaking aloud to myself. Mentally doesn’t seem to help much. You have helped a lot. I think you would be a wonderful teacher.
I would relish the challenge: each character I create is designed with some sort of difficulty to keep she/he interesting. Any detail to the voice, even including Venom’s description of Tombstone’s deepens the character. I would enjoy the challenge of creating a connection with the language barrier. This has revitalized my desire to roleplay, thank you.Placing it in LIT 301 seems appropriate as it is an optional technique. I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I was merely indicating my interest while stating my inability to join soon. Thank you for reminding me how to reply however. As I said before, it won’t be until the end of this month until I will be able to roleplay. I hadn’t sent in the student application due to lack of time earlier, but I should be able to today.
As for testing out of PSY 101, do you believe it may be possible to do it with other classes if the teacher permits it, to allow students to join higher level classes? It is fine either way.

My apologies for not being a good participant lately. I need to divide my little free time differently somehow. I have part of the background done, but it's not really they way I want it yet. I can finish it tomorrow as I think I have the evening off. I hope that's alright. :3
Edit: I have the background assignment almost completed, but it's just not the way I want it yet.. Like it's missing things. I'm finishing it Sunday, I'm sure.

Procrastination is..
Sorry for my absence.. It's been a crazy week where I haven't had the chance to use my laptop, let alone come online on Gaia or work on my character. I am not sure anymore how soon things will pick up, so I can't be a consistent player at the moment, which makes me think it might perhaps be better to take a pause. I really wish I wouldn't have to.
I'm going to continue working on character development in the meantime though, as I do enjoy it a lot. Perhaps if things don't pick up any time soon I could roll in the next character creation class.

The name's Sunny. I sent in an application to participate in the roleplay a few days ago now and haven't heard back. I've also read through the actual roleplay itself and gone over the events so far, leading to why I'm quite eager to start; I'm concerned that I'll fall too far behind everyone else to participate in the current class, as everyone is now working on full character profiles. I guess I should have really popped my head in here sooner as the first post requests, but I'm not terribly inclined to butt into OOC threads without being formally invited. My apologies! >.<
I understand if things may be going through some kind of process or that it might be wise to wait until the next introductory class, but I thought it might be worth just posting in here anyway and making sure I didn't make any mistakes in my form.

Oh hey! Yeah, sorry. Mel's been distracted and It's the end of the semester irl and I've had a crazy lot of grading to do so haven't been bugging her to keep on things lately. But, yeah, you're good to go. Have your character wander into the class like the others and be prepared to give an introduction and turn in the first character template thingy. Try to have a good concept with it including some archetypes. Next assignment is going to be defining your character's personality so have that in the works too. Try to give it some layers and be sure to make it work with the archetype - not necessarily follow but mesh.

Not necessarily in terms of time spent in real life, but more in terms of the number of topics we still have to delve into or an estimate of the number of assignments we've yet to complete. A big part of teaching is being flexible so we can't be completely certain how many more assignments are needed to finish out the lesson plan. Also, it has become apparent the original lesson plan was overly ambitious so has been through a few revisions already. If the class is getting bored or overwhelmed we can discuss (here) cutting the class short after just a few more assignments. What didn't get covered can be pushed into PSY 201 after a bit of a break to let y'all explore the campus and interact socially. We're still working out some of the details of the campus though so that will probably be a week or so before opening up (which should be about enough time for the last few assignments). Sorry things have been sort of haphazard here. Y'all are the first class and as such it has been somewhat experimental. We've also been a bit busy with other major renovations to the guild itself. Please reply here with your thoughts on cutting the class short and any input you have on how the class is going and suggestions to do things better. Consider it a teacher evaluation - be honest but civil.
