Solar Occultation Question~ An entry is good If all the actual text fits on a single page (size 12 Times New Roman, single spaced, one inch margins, etc.), correct? Meaning, if I format it so certain words are a bigger size or have their own line and it ends up pushing the prose over one page it's still okay? Opinion is a matter of self and of one’s expression of emotions; therefore, people have different opinion of his or her favorite season. Some like spring because of the colors and flowers, while others favor summer because of the warmth and beaches. The fall also holds a special place in some’s heart. However, winter “melts the ice” around others’. I, personally, like winter the most. I like it better because of the cooler temperatures, the holidays, and the natural beauty that surfaces.
Most people associate cooler temperatures with the possibility of snow and ice; I am one of those people. But I also like it because I am hot natured, meaning I get hot very easily. The cold weather of the winter is naught nut a blessing in my opinion. I also like the weather because it brings more wind, a thing that is scare during the summer and fall (sometimes). So far, winter is the only season that contains all of the afore mentioned traits I love.
When one thinks of the holidays, one thinks of presents and family. I think of the entire nine yards. Hot chocolate with marshmallows, presents, family, my family’s cooking, friends, happiness, all of it runs through my mind. The holidays are a time when all, and I mean all, of my family comes together. It is the one time we get to catch up on everything that’s happened over the year.
Beauty, the attraction of the eyes and mind and body. That is not the beauty I speak of. A landscape covered in snow and ice and frost is a natural beauty, one that is never enhanced or modified. No one, nor anything, can contaminate this beauty, the beauty of winter. That is a beauty so pure, so untouched, and one I will never have.
Combine the cold weather, the holidays, and the beauty, and winter is my ultimate favorite season. It is, undoubtedly, my ideal time of year. It is so different from spring, summer, and fall. Yet, at the same time, it is so alike the rest.

That's an essay from my tenth grade year. Our prompt was to write about our favorite season and why we liked it so much. I thought it fit for this mini-event. ^^

Kit's EntryApril showers bring such beauty sweatdrop I can't actually remember when I took this picture, but I know it was years ago.. Taken in my backyard during a light spring shower.
Oh! I asked my mum and she said the dogwood (the tree) blooms in May. =3
