Commander Log 4Time: Soon after Wild Rose Where: A forest near Aekea Who: LuLu and co. What: A disaster occurs Status: Complete She died in my arms today and I caused it. The beast who had left the prints a few days before finally found us. I do not know why it waited this long. It was probably watching us this entire time. It was probably prowling until it saw us at our weakest. Even now the thought sickens me. Its attack was unexpected, swift, and brutal. The men were gone again in search of food. I was no longer allowed to join them. Jacques had made sure of this. One of my older sisters noticed the noises first. It started as a gentle scratching at the entrance to our den. The sound soon grew into a loud thumping. Claws were tearing away our barriers. The girls took cover behind me. I did not want to tell them that I was just as scared and weak as they were. The wounds from the day before still stung and oozed. Yet, I shielded them. I stood my ground as a tan paw crashed through the tree bark that made up our home. Brown claws lined the fur like jagged barbs. It wasted no time in tearing away the last defenses that stood between us. The yellow eyes of a large wildcat glowed at us with hunger. Apparently, we were not the only ones suffering through a famine. The creature paid me no mind at first. It went after my sisters instead. Its body was sleek and fast. It was even more graceful than the rose. I flinched when it lunged at us. I had only closed my eyes for a second, but it was like hours to that beast. By the time I looked again, it had already slipped behind me. My oldest sister was in its mouth, Penelope. Her body was limp and blood trickled from the cat's maw. It jaws closed and applied pressure until I heard a soft pop. A boned jutted from the soft wisps of fur on her belly. My stomach heaved forward. Bad memories flooded before my eyes. The cat spat Penelope's corpse to the side like it was a cleaned bone. It then pounced at another one of my siblings. My heart skipped a beat and stopped. I must have growled because the cat stopped for a moment to look at me. I was blind with rage and grief. I was stupid. I shoved the beast to the side in one fluid motion. It fell to the ground with a snarl. Its eyes were wide and startled. It was now obvious that the coward had not wanted a real fight. That is why it had approached us when we were hurt. It stood and snatched up its fresh kill with reddened fangs. The soil below the cat crunched wetly. My youngest sister, Candice, laid under its feet. Her limbs were twisted and broken. My heart fluttered. My brain could not comprehend what had just happened. I had shoved the beast onto her. I had killed her. The creature jumped skyward towards a hole in the dead tree trunk that made up our home. A shrill cry escaped from the leafs as my youngest sister's body was pressed further into the dirt. The cat did not even spare her a glance as it escaped back into the forest. It would probably attack again tomorrow. I rushed over to Candice and picked up her flattened body. She moaned at me pitifully. Crimson hued spittle poured from her opened mouth. I felt hot tears well up in my eyes. Her wounds were gruesome; however, her eyes still held some spark of life. She looked up at me. It took all of her strength to meet my eyes. She spoke to me with her last breath. She told me, "I love you sister." I watched Candice's body shiver then stiffen when her life escaped her. When my brothers returned home I was still holding her corpse. I was blamed for both of my sister's deaths today. Metaplot SOLO

A Chance to AttackTime: Soon after Commander Log 4 Where: Josh's home Who: Josh and Josh's dad What: Christopher threatens Josh Status: Complete So... Maybe he did need a little help after all. It had been a little over three days since Josh had stormed out of the police station and LuLu was still gone. The boy could almost hear the officer's cynical laughter in his head. Luckily, an epiphany had graced Josh earlier today. He had decided to create a missing persons poster to aid in his quest. If the police would not help him, then he would find other means of assistance. Josh would place them around town and send one to each of the raevan owners. He would ask them for support. The Lab was one big family after all, right? It was a full proof plan in his mind. The boy finished up the last touches on the document before he shuffled it away. Josh relaxed into his chair, most likely for the first time in the last five days. His fingers sifted idly through his tangled locks; he had neglected his grooming recently in place of searching for his lost raevan. It was a minor inconvenience if it meant he was that much closer to discovering her whereabouts. Josh's slender digits dragged out a few rough knots in his hair. His hands then settled atop his scalp. He sighed. The boy was sure that he would be sporting a strip of gray hair before this ordeal was over. "You look like crap boy."A dry voice sounded from the hall outside his room; it was laced with the faintest hint of humor. Josh knew who the voice belonged to... his father. He did not relish the idea of a surprise visit from the man. Josh croaked from his chair, "What do you want?" His father chuckled bitterly. "I do not know why you are getting so hung up. It is better without the b***h." Josh stiffened in his seat at the sudden remark. He turned to glare at the bulky man. The boy's next words came out in a venomous hiss, "Take it back or shut up."Christopher's lips curled at the edge like a snarling beast. Josh felt fear bubble up in his stomach. It wiped the sour expression clear off of his face and replaced it with one of trepidation. The boy flinched and looked away as if it would spare him from his dad's rage. Josh knew he had just stepped out of line and he knew what consequences were to follow. In a flash, the seat beneath him was kicked over. His back slammed against the floor with a dull thud before a heel dug into his stomach. The older man ground his foot into the boy's organs until he heard Josh emit a pained cry. His father's voice came out as a mellow roll, like billowing smoke, "I thought we had already had this talk boy. You have NO authority here." He applied more pressure on the boy's naval and was rewarded with a soft squeak. "Riiiight?" He stomped his foot down like he was determined to pop the boy's insides. Josh cried out, "Y-YES!""I still do not think you understand," A low rumbling purr. Christopher released his hold on the boy, but Josh knew that it was far from over. Just as quickly as he was freed, meaty fingers twined through his oily mane. The man stalked back towards the hall dragging Josh gracelessly behind him. The teenager floundered like a wounded fish on the floor. His mouth gaped in shock and his fists clung to his father's own thick hand with a white knuckled grip. As Chris approached LuLu's room his fist drew back. It jerked forward and sung through the air until in connected with her shut door. A large hole surrounded the man's knuckles. He pulled his hand from the splintering wood. He lifted Josh from the carpet and shoved his face against the broad expanse cherry stain finish, now marred by a lone crater. Christopher snarled, "Do you see this?" Josh nodded. His cheek rubbed uncomfortably on the door. "Good. Let's get this clear fast. I was nice to let the b***h stay for as long as she did. She has done nothing but cost us money and complain. I never want to see her here again. Or this hole you see here... might end up in your face.... or hers. Understand?" A dark laugh erupted from the man's chest. Josh whined, "Yes, I understand." He gave into his father for now; however, he sent out the posters that night while his father was asleep. Metaplot SOLO

Commander Log 5Time: Soon after A Chance to Attack Where:A Forest near Aekea Who: LuLu and co What: LuLu is overthrown Status: Complete Jacques overturned me today. He is the new head of our family. Part of me is angry, but another part of me feels that this is right. Perhaps, it was foolish for a woman to take command after all. My remaining four siblings joined him without protest. Each one squawked about how I had killed half of our family. They told me how their blood was on my hands. The only blood I could see was my own. My wounds still hurt. I did not mean to hurt them. I tried to be the best leader. I tried to love them all. It is the same as before; I end up hurting the ones I love. Being a commander is just as difficult as being a princess. I do not remember why I ever wanted to be a princess. That part of my life feels distant. That was the time when I had Nicholae. I wonder how he is doing. I will most likely never see him again. If he was here things may have turned out better. I still would like to be a better leader for my family but I do not think they would ever give me another chance. Jacques said I was bad luck. He told my other siblings that I could not be trusted. They all agreed. I didn't. Today they kicked me out of the den and told me never to return. Their decision still stings in my chest. They do not want me anymore. One day, I will show them that they still need me. Metaplot SOLO

The Search PartyTime: Soon after Log 5, Afternoon Where:A forest in Aekea Who: Josh, LuLu, Kinsey, and Varun What: Finding luLu Status: Complete Post-note:It was cold and silent. The only noise that hung in the still air were the faint grunts of LuLu struggling to get free from the ropes that bound her. He would not have had to put them on if it was not for her tendency to run, claw, and bite. Josh almost wished that the bear was back. At least then the rabbit was friendlier. Another weak whimper erupted into the chilled air. Josh's stomach twisted. It felt oddly similar to the day that he had captured LuLu's soul. He had to endure sickeningly familiar groans coming from the passenger's seat all over again. He felt the same guilt and pity rattling around in his brain. Josh pulled into his driveway and hopped out of his car. His father was home so he had to figure out a way to sneak the frei inside without being noticed. Who knows what the man would do to them if they were caught. Oh wait... he did know what would happen. They would both get a fist sized hole in their face. The boy left LuLu in the truck for now. He made sure to lock it before entered his house. Josh had to quickly take account of where everyone was. If luck was on his side, he could slip the raevan through his window. In his haste, Josh almost overlooked the methodically blinking light that sat atop his answering machine. The miniature beacon signaled that there was an unread message. The boy clicked the equally red button next to the light. The machine came to life. "Hello, this is Alex from the Lab. I have called to tell you that we have found a cure for your raevan's... predicament. A virus has recently been spread and she may have been infected. The best way to combat the sickness is with cold. Please come to the Lab immediately for the proper cure."The female's voice faded into the low crackle of static then cut off. Josh stared at the device for a few seconds as his mind struggled to digest the information. A spark went off in his head. His lips curled into a smile then broadened into a grin. The boy made sure to grab a few ice packs before he ran back to his car. All of this madness would soon be over! Metaplot PRP

Return to InnocenceTime: Soon after The Search Party Where: Lab 305 Who: Josh, LuLu, Alex, and Zul What: A cure Status: Complete Post-note:LuLu's head rested groggily against Josh's shoulder. It lulled back and forth as the boy made his way to his truck. He was delighted to see that the frei was not huffing or puffing or trying to rip his face off. Actually, she was still quite sedated from the treatment. Things seemed as though they were going back to normal. At least, Josh hoped they would. Alex had said that there would be no after effects from the virus or cure. The only thing the boy had to worry about now was how he would take care of LuLu in the same house as his father. The thought still made his stomach hurt. Josh was also curious if he ought to punish the girl for running away. He took into consideration that she was not in her right mind when it had happened. Also, he did not know just what she had to endure alone in that forest for nearly eight days. Josh decided that once LuLu was fed and had woken up they would discuss what had happened over the last week. Metaplot PRP

After EffectsTime: After Return to Innocence Where: Josh's home Who: Josh and LuLu What: The aftermath Status: Complete LuLu awoke to find her self tucked into a bed. The faintest aura of creativity tickled her senses and stirred her to life. She batted her eyelashes lazily to whisk away the last hazy traces of sleep. The girl rolled over and pulled the covers off over her body. Her eyes focused until she could examine where she was properly. The girl cocked her head to the side curiously. She was in Josh's room. Her ribbon slid out of the bed and fluttered to the ground. LuLu took account of the fact that it was more tattered than before and that she was now covered in an assortment of band-aids. Much to her dismay, her muscles ached and parts of her skin stung. Her memory was a bit hazy as to why this all was happening though. She decided to ignore these inconveniences for now. She would mull over it later. The raevan further studied the room and noticed that Josh was sitting at the end of the bed. He had not spoken and seemed to be looking over her the same way she was looking over him. She saw the sketch pad in his hand. A few crude doodles were scribbled across it. LuLu's lips parted into a gentle smile. It was not the same as GramGram's sweaters but it was a close second. Josh's eyes lit up on cure with her smirk. He gasped then bleated excitedly, "Y-your back to normal!" The boy sprawled himself across the bed and gave the raevan a hug. The frei gave her guardian a bewildered stare as she caught him in her arms. It hurt to have the sudden strain on her her limbs; however, she let a few seconds pass before she spoke. "What happened?" Josh released LuLu and held her at arms length. His voice was solemn, "I was going to ask you that."LuLu frowned and tried to grasp his words. He did not know either? The gears in the frei's head began to turn as she fought to recall just what events had taken place. It all came back in a flood. Running away. Vyn. Candice. Jacques. All of the bad memories assaulted her in one large wave; despair and guilt joined them. Her face twisted with shock for a moment before she fell back onto the bed and buried her head under the covers. Josh jumped with a fright as she suddenly dived under his sheets. He paused for a moment before he drew closer. The boy cooed to her softly, "What's wrong?" LuLu whimpered, "I do not want to talk about it." Why had she tried to remember what had happened? LuLu almost wished that she could forget it all again. Josh gave the girl a concerned look but decided not to pry for now. LuLu was back and that was all that mattered for the time being. He returned to drawing. LuLu was probably hungry. Metaplot SOLO

Room RaiderTime: Following After Effects Where: LuLu's room Who: LuLu and Josh's dad What: A welcome back present Status: Complete Lavender eyes scanned lazily over the room, rolling carelessly in their sockets as though trying to find something interesting to focus on. LuLu had been stuck in Josh’s bedroom for the past week recovering. It had been long enough for her to grow bored of her surroundings and also question Josh’s motives. She was unsure if her guardian had chosen to leave her here in order to keep a better watch over her or if she was being concealed in the boy’s cramped room. Curious orbs fell on the door resting at the edge of the wall. It was closed. However, Josh had always left it open before. This only piqued the frei’s curiosity more and gave her an insatiable wanderlust. The rabbit fidgeted in the bed causing the comforter to come loose, one of its plush corners fell onto the floor with a soft flop. Never one for tidy beds anyway, LuLu contented herself with rustling the sheets around some more until she had formed a nest of blankets and pillows around her petite body. After some time her eyes ventured towards the door once more. She willed the wood to warp out of her line of vision or hear the familiar creak of it opening. When Lu was sorely reminded that she had never had psychokinesis as a raevan, she decided to switch up her game plan. With a loud and resounding “harrumph” she flopped over onto Josh’s bed and began to flounder around in a way that resembled a dying fish. Mocha kissed arms were sprawled out into a feeble attempt to reach from one bedpost to the other as the rabbit rolled around. It appeared like her mission was to toss every scrap of fabric off of the mattress and onto the floor. It also looked as though nothing would tear her away from this mission. That is, until a hard knock rapped on the door. LuLu’s ears perked forward and her head snapped to the side to follow the unexpected noise. The loud “thump-thump-thump” sounded again. However, the rabbit realized it was not coming from Josh’s door but hers; her bedroom was just across the hall. The frei rose from the stripped bed and drifted down to the floor like a falling feather caught on the wind. Her ribbon formed a spiraling circle around her rune that landed partially on the carpet and slithered there like a lethargic serpent. She approached the door quietly listening for that noise again. The small honing beacons atop her head twitched back and forth a little too eager to get put to proper use. Her eyes were fixed to the shadows dancing in the space between the door and its frame. Someone was there, but whom? LuLu braced her hands on the door and pressed her ear delicately to its surface. “OPEN THIS THING!” The rabbit recoiled as another set of knocks echoed through the house like a jackhammer. The noise was louder than ever and obviously coming from someone who was beyond angry. That someone was no mystery either, she knew the owner of that voice all too well. Chris wanted to enter her room for some reason and Lu did not like that idea. “SNAP!”The rabbit flinched and bounded back a few more paces like a wounded animal. The door to Lu’s room resembled a bone cracking. The pressure of it breaking open was practically tangible as though her bone was splintering. The rabbit’s eyes narrowed beneath her furrowed brow. Chris was now IN her room and she liked this idea even less. The unmistakable clatter footsteps pattered just a few feet away from her. The only thing separating her from Josh’s father was air and a few inches of flimsy plywood. The rabbit took a quick breath. She wanted to see what the man was up to in her self-proclaimed sanctum. LuLu approached Josh’s still intact door with shaky determination. Her breath came out in hesitant puffs as she brushed her fingertips along the cold knob. Her resolve shrank back as though trying to escape its frigid chill. They danced there for a few moments longer as she thought over her actions. She could tell Chris was beyond upset but this never served as a reasonable gauge for just how destructive he would be. However, if she did not take initiative now she may not ever build up the courage to see what lurked the other side of the door. With one last scrunch of her nose, Lu turned the handle that served as the only deterrent between her and an unknown fate. She only opened the door a few inches, just enough to peek out into the hall. The door to her room across the lit hall was an eyesore. It was knocked off its hinges and was laying on the floor in shambles. “N-no.” LuLu slapped a hand over her mouth to strangle the protests that wanted to escape her lips. Her lungs tightened on the words as she witness Chris take on the job of a wrecking crew in her room. All her dearest trinkets shattered on the floor as the bear of a man swiped his paws across her dresser in a blind rage. He was a beast scorned hollering out loud at the top of his lungs. The screams might have been for no one in particular or, perhaps, he had been hoping to catch Lu off guard in her den. “Where the hell are you?! I know you are back here again!” The man flipped over her mattress in one great motion. He did not bat an eyelash as it crashed into the wall and knocked a hanging picture onto the carpeting. The baby pink frame smashed apart to resemble many of her other cherished possessions. Even her closet was not safe from the man’s wrath. Already, numerous dresses were littered about the space in torn heaps. Chris seemed dead set on discovering the frei’s hiding place or insuring she would never have a room to return to again. LuLu could only stare in horror as her home within a home was reduced to a pile of colorful debris and glitter. A wet tear rolled down the hand that was clamped tightly over her face. Her nails dug into her skin as she began to hiccup. LuLu had seen enough. She already predicted the ending to this story. By the end of the day her room would be nothing but memories, both bad and good. She accepted retreat as her best option now, eased back into Josh’s room, and shut the door. The frei would have locked the door too if not for the fact there were no locks in the house. Instead, the propped Josh’s desk chair in front of the handle. There was no remorse if the boy had to climb in through his window later that evening. LuLu would not meet the same fate as her beloved room. A radically different feeling now obscured the room like a rancid miasma. Still sorely aware of the nearby threat, the rabbit squeezed her slight body into the dark catacomb under Josh’s bed. Wrapped in one of his many blankets, she huddled in the furthest corner where she could mingle among the dust bunnies. The rabbit soaked in the dimness surrounding her and let her mind fade away from the noise outside until all she could hear was silence. LuLu tried to remember the comfort of a faraway memory until Chris was gone. SOLO

Birthday SurpriseTime: LuLu's Birthday Where: The Kitchen Who: LuLu and Josh What: Carrot cake Status: Complete This was a mystery, creamy beige frosting encasing a moist slice of brown and orange speckled mystery. LuLu poked her fork at the carrot cake tentatively jiggling it slightly to scrape away a few crumbly morsels from its outer edge. A dainty nose crinkled as she lifted the dessert with her knife and watched it plop back on the plate rather inconspicuously when she released it, a glob of frosting dislodged and splattered on the lip of the plate. Human food was still a novel commodity that LuLu was unaccustomed to. Instead of diving in face first, she chose to experience new dishes in small baby steps, her fist venture being a piece of hard candy. However, this was not the only off putting thing about today. Everything was new and different which wrenched a thin blade of unease in Lu’s side. The venue was a small café filled from wall to wall with chattering customers chowing down prissily on purchased sweets or sipping nonchalantly on beverages in porcelain glassware. Smooth jazz blasted from speakers in the ceiling, one soulful song after the other, supposedly adding to the atmosphere. This was an uncharted territory settled smack dab in the heart of Gambino. The island was also relatively unfamiliar due to the fact visits were saved for certain occasions, all of which had already passed or were too far away to be celebrated. LuLu took a moment to look out the window, despite her caked still being uneaten. Even the sky here was drastically morphed from the musty gray she was used to around Aekea. Free of smog and mechanical emissions, the clouds rolled around on a pristine blue backdrop. Josh coughed into his hand before he spoke trying to grab Lu attention back to the table, “Today is a special day you know.” Not once did he lose the goofy smirk plastered along his lips which quirked them in a way that was very unlike the boy’s usual expressions, chalk up another point of unfamiliarity. LuLu knitted her brows. Today was certainly something, but she would not say that something was special. She hummed slowly, “Why is that?” She turned back to her guardian. Her fork clattered noisily on the dish set in front of her, just missing taking another stab at the cake. Josh titled his head to the side. His forehead wrinkled just enough to give him a look of disbelief. “You really have no idea?”LuLu did not fancy a guessing game this close to lunch time. She was becoming peckish and the confection at her fingertips looked anything but appetizing. She put an end to Josh’s secrecy quickly. “I do not know where I am or why. Tell me.”Josh frowned. He had been hoping to keep the small talk between them going for just a bit longer. Yet, LuLu was like a strike of lightning, straight to the point. “It is your birthday!” Her guardian did poorly at containing his excitement. “Though, I doubt you would really remember that. You seemed interested in other things back then. It has already been a year since you were born. Wow!” The boy prattled on like a mother doting over her prized child. Like any other kid, LuLu did not seem all that amused by Josh’s monologue. Most of her questions were still unanswered or new ones where being raised. LuLu cut in like the fork sectioning off a corner of her cake , “How was I born?” Lavender eyes honed in on Josh like crosshairs. She had never identified with being a human, she had never wanted to. Additionally, it did not take long for LuLu to realize that raevans were a diverse mixture among themselves. Often, the only feature that two raevan’s would share were their ribbons. Rabbits always seemed like a more fitting species to categorize herself with. They were sometimes even more suitable companions than her fellow raevans. Though, rabbit hierarchies still held some challenging obstacles that prevented her from truly coexisting as she would have liked. However, the most bizarre was that she did not recall being born. Even though it had only been a year prior. As a matter of fact, a lot about her origin was still unknown. Josh blinked in shock. He was not expecting such a question from the girl so soon. Indeed, a year had passed. Perhaps, his notions about the frei should grow up with her. Lu always held a sort of innocence that displayed itself through juvenile acts matching those of a little girl; nevertheless, his raevan would surprise him with moments like these. The rabbit’s ability to bring herself back down to earth long enough to deliver a distinctly mature tidbit. The boy could only wonder how much of her intellect was being intentionally hidden by a shroud of immaturity and virtue, but maybe that was just Josh being paranoid. The boy was uncertain if he should spill the beans all at once. If it would end in a mess, he did not really feel like cleaning it up in the middle of a busy café. “Let’s just say you were born in a lab from a rabbit and a lot of magic.” To be honest, he was still sketchy on the details. LuLu pursed her lips at Josh; she brought the fork up to graze their lower line thoughtfully as though weighing the boy’s halfhearted answer. She would probably not get a better reply from Josh that day. Her ears gave a few attentive flicks before a smile upturned her mouth. Her guardian’s response had been accepted, for now. Now onto other business, “What do I do on my birthday?”Josh perked up again. He was finally getting to the questions he had been waiting for. “You usually celebrate with cake. I wasn’t really sure what you would like so I went with carrot. Call it clichéd but I think you should try it.” To emphasize his point, he brushed the plate of carrot cake closer to the frei. Part of him hoped she would like it. Another part of him did not want to find out he had wasted six bucks on something she would not eat. LuLu appeared skeptical about the dessert. The ugly brown cake was accented by an equally unappealing frosting and a rather gaudy piece of carrot shaped fondant. Though, to be nice, she took the corner she had sectioned off earlier and brought it to her mouth. With a final swallow of her pride, she plopped the bite past her teeth and began to chew slowly. Suddenly, all uncertainty was muffled by a thick blanket of spices. LuLu’s senses were enraptured by a warm, rich taste she had yet to experience. Hints of nutmeg held her firmly while pungent vanilla hugged the raevan in a sultry embrace. She almost pitied herself that she had waited so long to sample such decadence. It was new. It was different. Yet, she liked it! Just after one bite, the allure of carrot cake was compounding like rabbit kryptonite, weakening Lu into a puddle of mesmerized goo. The frei went in for another bite her nostrils flared just a bit in expectation. LuLu poised the messy end of the fork at her glossed lips as she gobbled up the second mouthful with greedy haste. Bite after bite met a similar fate until the last frosting drenched piece was captured by her awaiting maw. Caught in the afterglow of her gluttony, LuLu giggled softly to herself while stifling a hiccup. “mm, thank you Josh.” Her mind was a bleary mess now that it was clouded by a fog of flavors. The frei slumped in the cushioned chair beneath her as the feeling of fullness finally began to weigh her down. Still, despite being sated, LuLu could not help but want a second helping. Under the pretense of a birthday surprise, an unaware guardian might have introduced the rabbit to her newest weakness. SOLO

A Fated MeetingTime: A weekend Where: The yard Who: LuLu and Nicholae What: Catching up Status: Complete LuLu had been waiting for this day. It had taken a full week to build up the courage. But the effort was worth it, she needed to gather all the nerve she could muster in order to face Nicholae once again. The buildup made it seem like a more of a daunting task than it really was. Nicholae was not a demon virus or some evil villain bent on destroying Lu’s world. As a matter of fact, he was very much the opposite. He was someone lulu cherished. She especially held his opinion of her in high regard. The frei would not be able to bear it if she had somehow ruined his image of her. Lu’s time was spent fussing idly at herself about irrelevant things as she entered the back yard of her home. Perhaps she had been away for too long. Maybe he had forgotten her. Nevertheless, all her questions flew away on the breeze when she spotted two brown ears perked above a small bunch of shrubbery. Sharp grey eyes sliced through the tender blades of grass like twin knives. LuLu could not help but stop in her tracks. Her heartbeat grew faster as they locked stares. Nicholae emerged with a few strong bounds of his hind legs. The soft thumping noise he made matched the tempo drumming in the raevan’s chest. Breathing became hard as the air died within her lungs. She tried to call out to Nicholae but her voice just would not form words for her. The small speech full of “hello” and “how do you do?” she had rehearsed became pointless as Nicholae beat her to the punch. He bolted closer and nearly yelled out a greeting. “WELL, WELL, WELL. Look who decided to show up on my turf again. Did you get your head stuck in a bush again or something? Where have you been Lu?” LuLu flushed with mortification. It had been a good number of weeks since they had last spoken and Nicholae could only remind her of her past blunders. The frei retorted with a huff while pumping one of her small fist in mock rage, “That was only one time!” Remembering her manners, LuLu flushed even brighter and offered Nicholae a curtsy. Her well versed conversation chose then to flow back to her in one large heap. The words she had spent numerous nights threading together linked up like train tracks. LuLu chose one to travel down. A little too well practiced; she stated rather robotically, “You look well. I hope everything has been going well for you.” She then smiled to Nicholae, her large grin was topped off with a crinkling of her eyes then hid her lavender irises with the veil of her lashes. The male rabbit mumbled low then took the final leap to be right next to Lu. He bowed low. The soft scruff on the top of his head brushed her hand to “kiss” her in welcoming like a true gentleman. Though, the princely act did not last long, he bopped his head a bit more roughly against her a second time. He spoke more gravely, “That did not answer my question! Why did you disappear for the past few weeks? I bet you are getting tired of me. My dearest LuLu came for one last goodbye!” Nicholae swooned dramatically on his four paws like a scorned woman before erupting into a fit of wicked chuckles. LuLu shook her head frantically trying to put to rest the misunderstanding before it escalated. Her voice climbed a few octaves. It nearly cracked as she fought to defend herself, “I-I just had business. I am ok now! I w-would never get tired of you. Ever!” Her ears shook violently as she continued. “I a-actually m-m-missed you a lot!” One of her small hands slid over her face to create a miniscule barrier. Her other hand remained firmly hidden behind her upper back. She hoped dearly that the slight barricade she had formed over her cheeks was enough that male could not see the bright scarlet they were now colored. However, LuLu’s attempt at hiding her embarrassment was just as feeble as it seemed. Nicholae smirked with his words, “Goodness Lu, I was only joking. Hey, I missed you too. Do not get so worked up.” The male was his usual cool and composed self. On the contrary, the frei was not fairing nearly as well. She simmered in her own frustrations nearing a red hot, rolling boil. Like a switch being flicked on, Nicholae’s statement finally clicked and Lu was forced to face the fact she had just spewed her feelings at her bunny love interest in one wag of her tongue. Lu pulled out the only trump card she had left. She pulled the hand she had been concealing from behind her back. Placed squarely in her palm was a sugar coated hunk of cake. It rested decadently atop an elegant dessert plate and was garnished with a hefty dollop of icing. For Nicholae, LuLu had chosen to share with him a sweet that she had recently taken an extreme liking to: carrot cake. She placed the dish on the ground and shoved it towards Nicholae. LuLu croaked meekly, “For you, I am sorry I was away.”Nicholae’s postured changed. He sat up on his back legs to stretch his body out. He looked lean and handsome; the way LuLu always imagined him. The male rabbit cocked his head to the side quizzically. He gave the same reaction as LuLu when she had first laid eyes on the frosting covered treat. Just like her, he had never given much mind to human foods. Berries and grasses where much more up his alley. He replied to her well-intentioned gesture rather flatly, “It looks gross. Do I really have to?”
LuLu huffed softly and crossed her arms like a mother ready to deliver a firm scolding. Her brow was set in a determined scrunch, “Yes! I thought the same thing too. It is so good though. NO. It is the best!” She was practically drooling over her own gift to Nicholae and the male took notice. He shook his head in defeat, “Fine, one bite. Cause you brought it for me.” LuLu could have sworn that she saw the other rabbit give her a wink, but it happened too fast for her to be sure. Whatever had happened, it reminded her that her heart was still jumping off the walls of her ribcage. She nearly held her breath for a few moments as Nicholae took a bite. She examined him closely to gauge his reaction. The male rabbit leaned in slowly and gave the cake a few lingering sniffs before he finally nibbled on an edge. He tried to take a clean sample of the cake; nevertheless, he could not escape without a few smears of icing getting into the fur around his face. The creamy white mixed in with the soft brown hairs in a way that reminded LuLu of a chocolate cupcake. She had given a sweet to her sweet? It was almost painful how cheesy the whole scene was. The frei giggled softly as she wiped at the frosting covering Nicholae. Her touch lingered on his fur a bit longer than it should have. Nicholae took the hint and evaded her fingertips long enough to hop back towards the cake. “Hey, hey! No need to clean me like my mom. I am a big bunny.” He went in for another small bite of the carrot cake. Well, it looked like a small bite to LuLu. She was accustomed to polishing off a slice in under a minute flat. Though, she should give consideration to Nicholae’s size. He was only one fourth her mass at best. As predicted, Nicholae could not handle as many sweets as the frei. He looked up at her and sounded overwhelmed, “This is great but do you think you could help a guy out?”LuLu nodded with enthusiasm. She took a fork that had been resting on the edge of the plate and began to aid her companion in the task of eating his present. The raevan could not think of a better way to spend her evening. She was able to enjoy her favorite dessert with one of her favorite “people”. When she had placed the last bite into her mouth, she set down her fork. She was impressed that Nicholae had managed to consume a few more bites before he had finally fallen into a sugar coma. LuLu was glad that today had gone so well, but she felt bad that there had not been more days like this. The frei grabbed Nicholae’s attention with a small cough. Her tone was soft but insisting, “I promise that I will never disappear again, ok?” The frei held her pinky out to Nicholae. She was serious about her promise in the way little girls swore themselves to their crushes. She was determined to never disappoint Nicholae or leave his side again. The male rabbit was moved by the raevan’s genuine admiration. He could see past her defenses and was able to tell she was being a genuine friend. In many ways the girl reminded him of someone he knew closely, himself. She was a bit of a hot head but loyal to a fault. Yet, at the same time they were so similar they were also worlds apart. For LuLu’s sake, could there ever be anything more then friendship? Nicholae nuzzled her finger to seal the pact, “I expect to see you here at least twice a week girly. With cake!”LuLu chirruped giddily, “Of course!”SOLO

A Surprise VisitTime: A weekday Where: The Yard Who: Lucia and LuLu What: A possessed Lucia attacks LuLu Status: Complete Post-note: Josh held the limp form of his raevan in his arms. It was alarming how shallow her breathing was as it came out of her mouth in labored puffs. The boy had numerous questions. Most of them revolved around the logistics of Lucia preforming a hit and run on his raevan. Nevertheless, he could not focus on any details in that instant. There were more pressing matters. For instance, the blood oozing into LuLu's hair. His head may have been swimming, but LuLu's was in far worse shape. He lifted the rabbit's petite frame in his arms until she was being held bridal style. He ran towards the backyard's gate and ultimately his car. Josh could only think of one place to go now and he hoped dearly some one would be able to help him. PRP

Check-upTime: After a Surprise Visit Where: Lab 305 Who: LuLu, Josh, and Alex What: LuLu is unconscious Status: Complete Post-note: LuLu looked over to Josh. The car ride back home had been quiet, but it was a somewhat welcomed silence. The rabbit needed a moment to clear her head and think. There was still a dull throbbing coming from underneath the bandage on her forehead. However, it was more of an annoyance than actual pain. The physical trials were over for the most part. The emotional scars would take time to heal though. LuLu toyed with her bracer idly. A few dots of blood had stained its edge. It was her blood. It was blood that Lucia had drawn. The rabbit knew she should hate the cat for what she had done. Anyone who hurt her should also feel pain. That is what she had always believed; as a matter of fact, it was one of the main ideas still fueling her wrath against Eiry. Yet, there was a nagging feeling in LuLu's chest. Guilt struck the chords of her heart like a crazed musician. Lucia had been a dear friend to her before. It made no sense for the other frei to turn like she had so suddenly. Perhaps there was a logical explanation to why she had attacked LuLu. Had Lucia truly gone mad? LuLu was torn between hatred and pity. She wanted to help her friend if she was in trouble, but she wanted to despise the person who had brought her harm. The rabbit shifted in her seat with a lethargic sigh. The battle continued to wage itself within her. Most likely it would reach a stale mate, both sides of her self forced into a delicate balance of neutrality. Her opinion of Lucia would remain there teetering until something gave it a push into one direction or the other. GROWTH QUEST PRP

Christmas is OverTime: A weekend Where: A cafe Who: Josh and Anita What: Catching-up Status: Complete Post-note: Josh had bought a few pastries for the road. Well, mainly he had purchased a small peace offering in the form of a carrot cupcake for LuLu. It would make up for the fact she was still being isolated to his room. The boy spared one more glance at the pig-tailed girl still in the shop or, rather, his fellow guardian. He knew Anita was a good person and would be an even greater owner. He looked forward to the day when their raevans would get to meet each other. PRP

Lucia's GiftTime: A weekend Where: LuLu's room Who: LuLu What: A gift from Lucia Status: Complete Quote: Your mail is delivered and by your box is a special package! The return address bears a familiar name: Lucia. The box is hand-wrapped and inside is a shoebox with a note on top.
Dear LuLu, LuLu did not know what to expect when a small shoebox had arrived for her. From the outside it looked like nothing special. Her fingers grazed the lid for a few lingering moments to savor the mystery before she removed it. The rabbit released a choked gasp when she saw the name on the card. “Lucia.” LuLu plucked the envelope from the box and ripped the top open with one of her delicately manicured fingernails, the sharp edges were for more than show. She flipped open the letter with shaking palms. She was both nervous and eager to read what the other frei had written. LuLu’s eyes scanned the page slowly. His brows knitted together into a low, deep arch the further she got until the resembled two adjacent frowns. By the time she reached the end, tears began to dribble down her cheeks in ruddy streams. However, a smile was tugging at her lips. Her emotions with Lucia had still been wobbling dangerously from both extremes. This letter was the final momentum LuLu needed to realize on what terms her once beloved friend now stood. Lucia had not meant to hurt her after all. The rabbit was relieved, but a new concern began to form within her. LuLu felt as though she should have tried more to reach out to her lost friend. It was apparent that Lucia had recovered from whatever had been controlling her, but it did not change the fact that LuLu had not been there for her. LuLu’s thumb brushed over a few key words in the passage as she weighed their meaning: “Friend… sorry…. love”. All these words were at the same time confusing but clear. There was a hitch in the rabbit’s breathing as she fought back another sniffle. Guilt welled up in her like tears brimming just behind her eyelids. She should also be saying sorry to Lucia for not helping her friend when she may have needed it most. LuLu folded the letter cleanly and returned the paper to its envelop. She then set the letter back in the box so she could look over its contents. She dug the rabbit doll out first with the needy haste of any child receiving a new toy. LuLu’s irises sparkled like cut amethysts as she appraised the doll. It was obviously hand crafted and perfect in every way. The frei held it to her chest and gave the toy a gentle squeeze. That gentle squeeze slowly turned into a forceful cuddle. In her lonesome regret, perhaps she was imagining it was Lucia she was embracing once more, the friends finally reunited on good terms. LuLu soothed out a few more fearsome sobs. With tear soaked eyes, she nearly overlooked the bracelet it was holding. The beaded trinket was removed from the plush’s fluffy grasp and locked around her wrist. She shook the glass balls around to make them clink together delightfully. They gleamed ever so slightly in the light in a way that reminded LuLu of Lucia and brought more waterworks to her already puffy eyes. The last thing that sent LuLu over the edge was the return of her feathers. They were mussed up and a tad sparse in some areas, most likely due to the struggle. Nevertheless, the sentiment was profoundly appreciated. LuLu clipped the feathers into one of her blond tresses. In some slight way, she felt whole again. Her hand brushed the feathers against her cheek where she held them in place only moving to nuzzle them closer. She enjoyed the feel of them in her hair and against her skin as though they were the embrace of a lost acquaintance. Lucia had reached out to LuLu today. The cat had shown the rabbit that her kindness was still present and overflowing. What had been done could not ever be forgotten, but today it had been forgiven. LuLu placed the rabbit back into the box with a contented grin. SOLO
