Accalia had been planning this since the tickets for the circus had come out, even talked to Nadia's parents ahead of time so that they wouldn't buy her tickets in advanced. She knew how much Nadia loved the circus and had been wanting to go whenever they came into town so she had done a lot of advance searching to make sure she had the time off and that Nadia was able to attend as well, even if it meant missing a day or two of school.
While they weren't related by blood she felt a strong bond to the younger girl and was glad she was able to do this for her. The morning of Accalia went to Nadia's home and her parents graciously accepted her in and
Nadia beamed at her older friend with a bright smile. "Accalia, what are you doing here, and so early?" Were her parents going out of town or something? They hadn't said anything to her so she was curious to know why she was here. Stopping what she was doing she focused her attention on Accalia, patiently waiting for someone to let her know what was going on.
"Well, I discussed this with your parents already but I wanted to be the one to tell you." Smiling she sat down at the table across from her. "You know what's in town today right?"
"The circus!" Nadia had been counting down the days when she'd found out they were coming to the area and had asked her parents countless times if she could go and their response had always been, we'll see honey or if we have time. So she hadn't held her breath that she'd be able to go.
"That's right and guess who is going!" Accalia pulled out the tickets she'd bought and the way Nadia's face lit up was all the reaction she'd needed but of course Nadia didn't know that and that was okay with her. She looked at her parents wide eyed and then looked back at Accalia and got up and couldn't contain her excitement as she gave everyone hugs and gushed about how excited she was to the point she was pretty much rambling. Smiling she was happy to see how excited she was. "Thank you so much! All of you." She knew her parents had to of been in on this so it was just such a wonderful day all around.
She could almost cry she was so excited.
It wasn't even her birthday and she felt like the most favored person in the world. "This is the best day ever, I don't even know what I'm going to wear!?!" She would have to pick out something! "Well go and find something to wear, it's early still so we have time." Accalia said as she ushered the young teen to her room to find something to wear. Accalia joined her since she was certain that she'd want her opinion on outfits.
"Remember that it's going to be rather chilly so we're going to want to dress warm but not too warm where you'll get hot from walking around." Nadia gave a thought and dug through her closet for some things and finally believed she'd settled on something. "What about this?" She asked showing Accalia the cloths she had selected, a long sleeved shirt with a nice pair of jeans and some tennis shoes. "That will work great, and then I'm sure you'll have a light jacket. We're going to be inside mostly so you don't have to have a full winter jacket or anything." She'd done a lot of planning on the weather and all that as well so Accalia was well prepared. It wasn't supposed to be cold, just cool so no need to dress like it was a blizzard.
"Okay!" Nadia beamed as she placed the outfit aside. "I have some things I need to get done, I just wanted to come by and tell you the good news. I'll be back in a couple hours to get you though."
"I'll see you then!" She escorted Accalia to the door and went about the rest of her day.

"Are you ready?" The duo were waiting outside to show the admissions man their tickets. "I am!" She exclaimed, barely able to contain her excitement. "Are we going to see a lot of animals and people doing tricks?!" It was more an exclamation of excitement than a question. "Of course!" Accalia responded as they handed the man her tickets, to which he gave the two girls their lanyard passes.
"Now don't lose this, keep it around your neck." Accalia said as Nadia put it on and Accalia did the same. The pair entered the tent and were hit with nice, warm air and they smiled because it was perfect and the lighting set a wonderful mood. Even she was excited about this.
"Come, let's go sit over here!" Nadia said wanting to get some good seats. Grabbing Accalia's hand she led her along and found them some nice seats not too close and not too far back.
Getting comfortable they hadn't been sitting long when a voice cut through the air. Nadia clung to Accalia out of excitement and anticipation more than out of fear. Then the sound of drums and a lions roar replaced the voice and then the lights went out, shrouding everything and everyone in darkness. The only thing's you could hear was the air around you, if that was even considered a sound. Everyone had gone dead silent and both Nadia and Accalia wondered how long this eternity might last.
Then some terribly tuned music started cutting in and out, over and over and a voice cut through the air again.
'This is the greatest show.' "This is it!" She whispered to Nadia and the youngster squeezed her hand excited in response. Yes, yes it was and the show was going to start and what a show it was about to be.
