Steele Moore ( dressed as a vampire )
Steele - 1. Mysterious Lady - 3.
This was harder than he had expected it to be. Why was he always running into the ones that weren't as easily persuaded by his charms? And why on earth did it always seem that Rob was always better at this than he was, even if Steele refused to admit that?
Focus.
"Free food is always a delight," said Steele grandly, snagging an appetizer as well. He twirled the toothpick merrily and almost sent the mini sausage flying off before he hastily popped it into his mouth, chewed, and swallowed, Steele's carefully constructed persona still in place.
"Come on, though, you can't just be here for the food."
As if Steele never went anywhere just for free food.

Lysander Cadwell (Dressed as a modern vampire) "No idea honestly. I read the article some time when I was in school so I can't remember the whole thing now." He laughed softly again, looking at the fern before taking a sip of his wine. At least the party had splurged on descent drinks. Looking back over at Basil he sighed inwardly. It was almost a shame he was trying to be a more respectable person and not the overly flirtations s**t he was as a kid. Basil was cute but he didn't want to do something that would potentially upset Almandine. It wasn't as if Alma would know. But Lysander would. He'd gone down that path once and it wasn't a good one. "The memory thing had something to do with dropping a plant that responded to touch. Something like the plants seemed to learn the drop wouldn't hurt them so stopped reacting? But would still react to being touched."

Shikora MjoliPerhaps his first mistake was approaching a psychologist. For a moment, Shikora thought she might have managed to distract him from his flirtatious behaviour with food, specifically the mini sausages, but soon, he was prodding her again about why she came. At least he wasn't citing beautiful people this time. Better. Finally, she shrugged, popping a miniature sausage in her mouth. After a moment and a swallow, she indulged him with a reply of, "Besides for the food, an event at the Botanical Gardens seemed like the event I could go to where I was least likely to run into the rowdy drunks of Halloween." She eyed his drink for a moment before eating another sausage. "Mostly came for food, though."

Richard Bell dressed as a budget vampire Richard didn't see Ignacio at first, slowly turning in place and trying to decide what to do, where to go, next. He pulled a bit awkwardly at his collar and gave in to the impulse to undo the top button. It didn't suit the posh vampire aesthetic, but he hadn't worn these clothes in probably five years and they were a little snug on his neck and shoulders. It was a full button-up shirt, anyway. It wasn't like the top button open exposed much. A bit more comfortable, he did another slow spin in place, this time finally catching a flash of motion out of the corner of his eye that told him the location of the person he'd been looking for. Oh, by the food. Of course. He should have known. With an amused whuff of air through his nose, Richard set about moving through the crowd towards his target. He would just have to blame the costume for why he hadn't seen him at first. ...Even though he'd helped him with parts of it. Ha. Oh well. Maybe he'd just blame midterms studying instead. God only knew that Richard had been drowning in that lately. That was part of why this party was a welcome distraction. Once he actually reached Ignacio, he gave him a good-natured roll of the eyes, a shake of the head with a bit of a smile. "There you are."

Jada (Mother Gothel)
Her gaze landed on a familiar young woman in the room, and purple eyes lit with delight. She hadn't seen Genevieve as much as she might have liked since their meeting at the mall, though she had been seeing plenty of the young woman's roommate- Kallichore. She lifted her hand from Giulia's shoulder, considering. The girl was only seven, but Jada wouldn't be going far. Leaving her to wander briefly by her own while Jada moved away to do something else... it would be fine. Probably. Or it would go terribly wrong, but she'd take her chances. With a quick goodbye to the girl, Jada slipped across the room towards the 'vampire', brushing free-falling black curls from her face. "Genevieve?" she called out to the younger woman as she approached, giving the other senshi a warm grin. "I like the costume." It was clearly a vampire, but she couldn't place anything exact, even if she had a few possible ideas. "What a pleasure to see you here." Would Genevieve remember her? Oh, that would be terribly embarrassing if not, though she imagined their meeting would make it difficult to completely... "I can't wait to be abel to go through the maze. If that fog ever lets up, this could be quite an adventure, don't you think?"

Farrah Delauney (in a little black cocktail dress) /// Sinead Delauney (dressed up like a victorian style doll ) This really wasn't Farrah's cup of tea. She wasn't fond of big fancy to-dos and she disliked crowds. But when auntie told both her and Sinead, and she saw just how her little sister lit up at the thought of a fancy dress-up party, with free candy and a trip through the gardens that held some plants she had only ever heard of... Farrah couldn't say no. It meant she got to spend time with her sister – family, she had never even met until recently. There was so much wasted time, and she didn't want to live with the regret and the thought of any more lost time. The fact that Sinead had even agreed to model for some pictures made it a little better. She was just so cute, and with the costume she chose... Surely she would be able to get the shot she was aiming for.
Upon arriving at the botanical gardens, Sinead couldn't help but bounce excitedly. A party, a halloween party, and one that offered her opportunities to see and learn and perhaps get some new information that even auntie didn't know. Perhaps, just perhaps, she might even mange to get a few … samples … for her plant collection. Impulsively she reached out to grab Farrah's hand to pull her along. 'Come on, Fayre, we don't want to be late.' For my records, Word Count: 227

Giulia (Rapunzel)
Alone at last, Giulia twisted her hands, considering her variety of options. At least until they could go into the maze, there was little else to do but buy raffle tickets and me- mi? talk to lots of people. Mean girl, or Mean gull, or whatever it was.
A male voice got her attention, and the little Rapunzel turned her eyes to him, clasping her hands together. "They are lovely," she told him happily, "I've never gotten to come to the Botty Nickel Gardens before, so I wasn't sure what they might look like."
Bright blue eyes took in the farmer, and she gasped, happily. "You're the Farmer in the Dell!" She recognized that costume from the nursery rhyme when she was little! "I'm Rapunzel. I like your costume too."

Alexandre EvansWhy did he have to dress up? It felt far too...childish. After last years incident with the botanical gardens, which he'd warned his cousin about, he was still willing to attend this years Halloween event. He was prepared, just encase, as he didn't trust it. This was Destiny City after all...and nothing was sacred or safe - nothing.
He could have done a lot of things, but he wasn't interested in anything cheap or out of the bag, so Alexandre had settled on throwing together a butlers outfit. It was something which allowed him to use real clothing, as opposed to the cheap fall apart stuff most costumes were made from, and he could have some fashion sense as well.
Since his arrival he had been watching everything, as if expecting something to jump out and attack them all, and who knew...anything could happen. Already the city was filled with spider webs, but no spiders, and really it was a miracle he'd been convinced to come out of the house with that still going on as his fear of spiders had been kicked into over drive with all the webs - he felt like a paranoid at this point. He may have also stocked up on some bug killer....just in case. But tonight there was some make and a prize or something at the end, he really couldn't remember as he'd been too worried about everything else.
The fact it had started to rain had him hopeful the maze might be canceled, and he wouldn't have to face the webs and a possible unknown attack at the same time, but with a fog rolling in nice and thick it seemed they were going to be going out on the maze soon anyway.
"Really not a fan of this..." He whispered to his cousin.

Lauri Virtainen (Simply dressed nicely, with hair down; looks normal - but is carrying a red leash.) Finns didn't really celebrate Halloween, not the way Americans did. But a request had been made - or rather, a demand, couched as some sort of excursion for information gathering or some such bullshit that could in theory be rejected - and it was not something worth turning down. Lauri didn't have work, he rather enjoyed plants, and while crowds of people were absolutely not enjoyable for him, it would be a good opportunity to further get used to them. "Stupid, to think a little rain is enough to keep us all trapped indoors." He had English back now, some weeks past his corruption, which was good since it had made communication quite difficult for a bit there. Lauri glanced about the room - many faces seemed familiar-but-not, some more than others, some less so. Whether it was reality or just a trick of his mind was uncertain - one never could tell, with the ******** glamour magic bullshit. But there was a heavy fog...that might be worth more caution. Bits of conversation drifted, hard American accents hitting his ears like glass shattering. Discordant and grating. There wasn't enough alcohol present to make this event palatable. "It feels...waiting." He muttered, taking a deep drink from the flute of white wine he'd snagged.

Rowan Cameron (Dressed as a gothic victorian vampire) "I feel like it was a bit of poor planning to not plan for rain." Rowan said to his brother as he watched the rain fall from his safe location in the reception hall. So far it hadn't been a horrible evening, but the younger of the brothers was finding himself growing bored with the tight enclosure, and the lack of much to do. "I would have at least opted for some indoor entertainment. or you know, watched the weather channel?"
False vampiric teeth bit down on his lower lip as a grin danced across the youth's face. "I suppose it could be worse." He said as he lifted a drink in a plastic cup to his mouth. "Mother could be here breathing down our necks." He took a sip, the grin never fully fading even behind the plastic vessel. "It's rather nice to enjoy a party without her being here, though I am surprised she decided not to come." He shrugged. Clearly his tone held a hint of amusement as he joked about their mother's absence. He loved the woman dearly but sometimes found her presence to ruin a good...well, looking at this party, half-way decent event. Her need to always be on point and make connections was tiresome in Rowan's eyes even if extremely useful.
Brushing back purple hair from his eyes, the elaborate, ruffled cuff of his shirt made the movement look all that more extravagant. "I hope you didn't intend to mix business with pleasure tonight?"

Trey Cameron - Modern Vampire hunter, with foam stake & cross necklace"You're not made of sugar." Rowan's brother said with a laugh. "You're not going to melt."
There were an awful lot of vampires here at the part and Trey was inwardly amused by the idea. It had been simply a whim to dress up with his brother for the party, the younger man joining what was apparently a popular idea to be one of the undead. Trey had mostly just wanted to wear something fashionable with modest accessories, so a 'vampire hunter' had been easy and comfortable.
In addition to the leather pants and long leather trenchcoat he wore, he'd hung a silver cross on a chain around his neck and his long fingers rolled a foam stake around between them. His long hair was up in a rough bun at the back of his head, tendrils falling around his face. It was fairly comfortable, which was important, and he cut a striking figure in it, which was the most important thing.
He didn't really recognize anyone here, but it wasn't really the circles he tended to run in. The young man didn't mind so much. There were still people to appreciate his outfit, and he got to spend time with his brother, outside of his mother's influence. It was going to be fun, watching his brother be his flamboyant self. He was looking forward to the gardens nearly as much.
"Entertainment is what you make of it, you know. There are plenty of people here to talk with and I'm sure some of them are interesting. And I promise I won't even talk business."

Elex Yorke (going as generalized undead) Facebook stalking never crossed Elex's mind in previous years, but following his series of unfortunate events, the misbegotten practice took on a new form of usefulness. Feeds and walls cluttered themselves with peripherally useful information — when someone would leave their house, where they were attacked by youma, where they worked, who they socialized with, and when they planned to get together with those very people. If he had his suspicions about senshi civilian lives, Facebook would have been his first choice of venue to keep tabs.
Clearly, Elex Yorke wore his second skin for research that night. The rain opened up outside the Bootanical Gardens entrance as if shutting him off from departure. It mattered little; he made his commitment by virtue of arriving, even with a last-minute costume for ease of blending. He had a victim to trail, and he intended to do so.
The problem was, as he caught first bergamot and then sight of telltale hair, that the victim dressed as a vampire.
As did everyone else.
Looks like you didn't bother inheriting your mother's creativity. Whetting his lips, the candy was skirted vehemently and Elex made for the display of drinks. Anything pumpkin-scented remained firmly on the table; he chose for another fall flavor of less fame and splendor. And while he cared little for carbonated juice drinks, they would keep him sated and out of the way for observation purposes.Quote: Elex is open for interaction Isaiah Varney Zähne (going as an extremely intoxicated Felicia) "Well thatsshhit." The mostly-naked pawn shop owner frowned down at the drink table disappointedly. Not once did he spot a single alcoholic beverage in the Bootanical Gardens event, and they similarly never posted a BYOB about it either. How was he supposed to know they weren't going to refresh his imminently-no-longer-three-day bender? He'd start sobering up by the end of the night if he couldn't nose out some alcohol.
Times like these made him wish he still had Sid at his side, or at least Gwen for the purse space. The latter might not indulge his terrible habits, but the former always knew where a drop of sauce could be found.
"Whatever," Isaiah turned from the table with deep unamusement, stumbled a few times while the world lurched about, nearly tripped over his cat paws, and decided he'd be making love to a wall tonight. At least until the room calmed down.Quote: Isaiah is open for interaction

Saffron Laith - dressed as a witchArian Laith - dressed in jeans, polo neck and a sweater "You know you could have made an effort Arian" Saffron said, a mild note of exasperation in her voice as she glanced at her cousin.
She had used the Botanical Gardens' Halloween event as an excuse to dig out the pretty witch costume that she had bought on a whim a couple of years back, the black lace and feather hat perched jauntily on her head. Her cousin on the other hand–
Her cousin looked pretty much as he did normally having opted for a simple jeans, polo neck and sweater combo - not very 'Halloweeny' at all - he hadn't even opted for contacts having kept with his glasses.
In fact the sole nod that he seemed to have made towards the season was the pumpkin hair clip that adorned his dark hair.Arian hid a sigh as he nibbled on a sandwich, it not the first time this evening that his cousin had made that particular comment. Truth be told he hadn't actually wanted to come out to the Botanical Gardens or - as they were calling themselves - the Bootanical Gardens at all. Not tonight - especially not tonight. Because this was Destiny City and things had a way of happening in Destiny City. He had wanted a quiet evening, had wanted to perhaps work on putting the finishing touches on the spooky-themed necklace request that had come through on Etsy– But both his cousin and Anxo had wanted to come out to the events at the Gardens and so he found himself here as a part of him waited for the other shoe to drop. Quote: Arian and Saffron (Saffy) are both open for interaction but please quote me :3

Kathryn McAdams: not dressed up.
Kathryn hadn't had time to cobble a costume together before the night of the Botanical Garden event. It wasn't for a lack of trying. She had just decided that it would be easier just going to the event as herself. She wasn't sure what to expect at the gardens. There had been talk about a maze that was going to be open to those in attendance and a raffle but that was about it. As she mingled the woman took note of the table hosting the raffle and the prizes that were available to be won. Kat knew she'd have to enter before the evening was out. For now though she found herself mingling in the reception hall amongst others who had definitely gone all out in the costume department.
Slinging her pack over her shoulders Kathryn approached the windows just as the fog began to roll in. She eyed the natural phenomenon with awe before wondering how it would affect the maze run. It'd not bode well if she got lost in the fog and in the maze.

Kit Paine (dressed as Tim Burton's Cheshire Cat)
Kit desperately wanted to get out more. Having returned from the week and a half trapped in Altea's castle with the rest of the Dark Mirror Court, he'd had a great deal to get back in order once he'd returned to his usual life. It had taken several good weeks of catching up to bills, work hours, and college homework to regulate his schedule and routine again.
After he'd heard of Bootanical Garden event, he decided it was a good opportunity to socialize once more after having been too busy to do much of anything. With Halloween coming up as well, he enjoyed taking advantage of the opportunity to dress different. Due to the explorative nature adventure being a maze with trivia and clues, Kit couldn't help but think of Alice in Wonderland. This inspired him to pick a costume based on one of its most enigmatic characters - a character he had been likened to occasionally in the past due to his constant grin.
Other than going out to meet more people or get back in touch with old friends and acquaintances, the older teen had a more serious reason for attending the event. He had been present for the previous year's Holiday Extravaganza at the very same botanical garden and recalled the attack of the razor-sharp poinsettias. It made sense that someone who worked at the gardens or someone who had access to them would take advantage of another large gathering of people like this one and pull some new stunt to collect energy and cause panic among the masses.
If or when that happened, he wanted to be around to assist and protect others if he could. As a civilian who had been a resident of the city for at least a year and a half, now, and a super senshi who valued friends from all factions, Kit couldn't just stand by and do nothing when he sensed a possible, impending danger. Of course, he could have been wrong, as he hoped, but only time would tell. One thing was for sure: whether Destiny City always had something going on, whether behind the scenes or out in the open, and there never seemed to be a dull moment.Jack Burnett (dressed as Disney's Peter Pan)
To Jack, the Destiny City Bootanical Garden seemed to have it all. There were the amazing decor and costumes to get anyone into the festive Halloween spirit. There was the free food, candy, and of course the raffle ticket prizes. Best of all for the riddle-lover, though, the promise of the maze. Was it a hedge maze? What kind of trivia did it contain? Were the clues part of some sort of scavenger hunt or did they specifically lead people to different locations? There was only one way to find out. No way was he going to pass up this opportunity to showcase his wit, cunning, and overall brilliance.
The rain was a major disappointment, but at least it hadn't canceled the maze event. Suspicious as he was of the fog that followed, Jack thought its appearance created an appropriately creepy ambience. As stupid as he considered bravery, he thought he could have done with a little courage as of late - particularly at an event such as this - and had thus chosen to don the guise of the moronically courageous forever-boy, Peter Pan. The sheathed dagger at his waist may not have carried a real blade, but it had enough weight to it that he felt safer to have it by his side. After all, who knew what monsters - both real and pretend - would emerge under the cover of the dark and dense crowds?
Speaking of monsters, Jack spotted one as soon as he prepared to grab a drink and turned toward the drink table. He froze, his body rigid, and had to take a moment to contemplate why as he identified the person behind the shoddily put-together undead outfit. It could have been because said person was a known Negaverse officer who was only half human. It may have been more probable to think it was because said person had nearly murdered him twice on two separate, previous occasions.
However, truth was stranger than fiction, and the sight of Elex made Jack weak in the knees for an entirely different reason. He wasn't pleased with his body's response in any case and chose not to approach lest it only worsened his involuntary reactions. That didn't keep him from continuing to observe from afar, though, doing his best to remain inconspicuous.
What are you doing here? he wondered silently, casting glances out the corner of his eye instead as he grabbed a plate and began to load it with food. Must be something pretty important going on if you're here looking like that. Unless you really are here for your own agenda rather than the Negaverse's. Either way, I have very good reasons for keeping you in my sights. He followed Elex's gaze, noticing how it seemed aimed in a general direction. ...Aaaand it looks like you have someone in yours. Are you spying on him?
Fascinated, Jack decided he would participate in the maze event as best he could while staying within range of Elex and his quarry. This is bound to be interesting.Leiko Shuuya (can't afford a costume)
(considered going in his senshi outfit as a 'costume' but then thought that might not have been such a good idea. inviting trouble)
