With a new Pokemon in his party, Chayse was feeling more confident - even if he did need to treat it at the Pokemon Center before it could battle. Still, he walked with a pep in his step among the ruins, noticing a few Trainers gathering to battle in places. 'Man, people can meet anywhere to battle,' he thought, and he grinned a little. "Cyndaquil, you were great before. What do you think? Are you up for a real battle?" Cyndaquil's back suddenly blazed, and Chayse laughed. "Hey, careful! I don't want you setting me on fire."

As Chayse wandered the ruins watching other Trainers battling, he began to feel a little bit uneasy. Sure, Cyndaquil seemed like he wanted to battle, but.. if he had learned anything from Trainer's School, it was imperative to have at least one other Pokemon capable of battling if he wanted to take on another Trainer. And the Wooper he just caught wasn't anywhere near fighting condition... "How bout we wait a little while, Cyndaquil?" Chayse proposed, the little fire mouse deflating slightly. It seemed he'd grown fond of battling, something that Chayse couldn't complain about. Chayse smiled. "It's okay, buddy. But we wanna make sure we do our best as a team... and we can't do that if one of our team members is down, can we?" So Chayse settled for exploring the ruins a little bit more. Maybe instead of battling, he could find some interesting treasure...

Chayse wandered into a small enclosed area, where an attendant stood next to a sliding-panel puzzle. His curiosity peaked, Chayse approached it and studied it carefully. "How does it work?" he asked the attendant, who grinned at him. "Rumor has it that if you can solve the puzzle, mysterious things begin to happen," she said in a spooky voice. Chayse was instantly creeped. "Uhh... what kind of mysterious things..?" he asked, his voice a little shaky. Cyndaquil popped his nose out over the top of his head to look down at the puzzle. "Do you know the legend of the Unown?" the attendant asked him, looking positively gleeful at the boy's reaction. "According to the stories, they are the ones who inhabit these ruins.. Very little is known about them, only that they are a very ancient type of Pokemon... And few people have ever seen them..." Chayse gulped. That sounded spooky. "Umm.. maybe another time," he said, and started backing away from the puzzle. As soon as he was out of sight of the attendant, he booked it back down the road to Violet City. Yikes! It was no wonder only experienced Trainers got to explore those ruins! [Exit to Violet City]

Landing in some old ruins, Avikna found it curious that they'd of added this place to the list of locations to find eggs. Honestly only history buffs would care about this place, though it was nice seeing younger trainers enjoying the ruins. Dismounting Arietty, the red-head joined Tay to explore the ruins herself. Hopefully it wouldn't be long before they'd get that needed information on the Type:Null. Though something told her they weren't going to be able to do much with the information provided. Tay, as usual easily started to make friends with a fellow trainers. It made her worry less about Tay's future if anything were to happen to her.

The next stop was ruins, which annoyed Ashley some. He wasn’t much in the mood for the derelict caves with old scrawling on them and random pokemon flying about to try and harass him. Ruins and caves were full of what… zubats and whatnot? Annoyances that he didn’t want to deal with now. He slipped from the Charizard’s back with Eevee still cradled in his arms, a finger still gently rubbing under her chin. She was incredibly calm which was nice and he enjoyed what minor company she provided.

Still though there was a good chance that finding an egg would require descending into the ruins and with a sigh, Ashley adjusted his glasses and made for the entrance. It was better to start there now instead of wandering about on the outside where the place was probably cleared of eggs. Eevee mewed and shifted in his arms, clearly wanting to be put down. He frowned and did just that, narrowing a gaze at her in slight curiosity. Once he was certain that Eevee was all right on her own, Ashley began his descent into the ruins, keeping an eye out on their surroundings as he went. There were panels on the walls that seemed moveable and had images of the pokemon Unown plastered on them. He paused a moment to study them and figure out what exactly the purpose of the panels. Eevee wandered close by, sniffing at the ground and doing her own investigative work.

Ashley raised a hand and attempted to adjust the panels. The Unown shapes came in different shapes that made up an alphabet and with a little work, one could form words with them. He was familiar with the Unown alphabet, if only out of boredom and reading several books on the subject. There appeared to be certain letters on the panels and changing them around appeared to create specific words. Ashley absently fiddled with it before a muffled mew drew his attention away. Squinting, he caught sight of Eevee with an egg in her mouth looking up at him expectantly. His eyebrows raised in surprise and he abandoned the panels to retrieve the egg from the pokemon, eyeing it a moment before gently rubbing her on the head. "Very good ma chérie." He praised, tucking it into his bag and picking her up again and heading out of the cave. It appeared someone knew what to look for.

Following Tay and her small group of would-be friends towards one of the many buildings that consisted of these ruins, Avikna was mindful of the ground. She had a poor history of falling through holes that weren't notable. Walking around certain areas that looked a bit less firm that others. The group finally stopped to observe a wall of text, formed in what looked to be an unown language. The wording of that was something to sneer at. The unown were psychic-type Pokemon that strongly resembled letters. How they came to be was another question entirely, one that Avikna didn't know the answer too.

Back outside, Avikna lead Tay to a less populated area near a pond. Tay, along with Cotee and Freya ventured over to the waters edge to explore and find another egg, while Avikna simply watched from the sidelines. Ever since they'd started this whole egg-hunt thing, she'd been utterly bored, but watching Tay having fun... seeing that smile on her face, it made Avikna happy. It was worth it if Tay was happy. Even when she was younger she found the idea of an egg-hunt rather boring. About all you got from inside was candy or 1o cent toys that broke as soon as you used them. Perhaps it was more or less because she never really had friends to play with. Hojo was there, but for the most part the other kids avoided her, some went out of their way to snatch up eggs she was trying to get, and eventually the whole party would be ruined once Avikna took bully prevention into her own hands. Memories she wished she could forget.

Avikna held up a hand, pushing hers a few inches away from her face. "Another egg. Way to go." This meant it was time to leave these ruins. Calling Mave and Arietty out of the sky, the two girls mounted their respective flyers and took off for the sky. Tay happily tucked her egg away, adding it to the collection. Her bag was really full at this point, it was surprising they hadn't lost at least one egg. Still they were pretty small eggs, with something small in the inside that rattled as the egg shook. Avikna was still rather curious as to what that rattle noise was.

Adder wasn't sure whether to bother training his pokemon here or not. He was only training Chikorita and Charmander at this point, and they were both pretty low level. He may be able to get a stronger pokemon to train to balance things out, but, well, he wasn't sure he had any. Other than those in his team, but they might have been a bit too strong? He ran a hand back through his hair again, before tugging his hat on and looking up at the sky. Just being close to these ruins.... He couldn't help but think back to the others. So many unown caught when he'd been there...

Or -- suddenly, something bumped into his back, and sent him flying forward, eliciting a gasp from the teen.
