I really don't have lolita clothing yet. I'm gonna try hard over the summer though. So I don't know how she'd react to seeing me wear it. I think she'll like it. I show her the magazines and she likes some of the classic lolita outfits. She thinks a lot of the sweet lolita looks like little girl's clothing, but I still don't think she'd have much against it.
Besides, whether she says anything or not, I'm going to try and watch what I wear. For example, no black and white to avoid being mistaken for a maid and I'm gonna watch the shoes. Don't want to attract the wrong people.
My grandma finds the outfits pretty. Most of my family other than my immediate family and grandma, would think I was insane.
xD They'd move on from talking about my cousin and all their comments on her dressing a little gothic to me wearing lolita. So I'll be careful who I wear it around. In college I'll wear it more often.

My parents "don't get it" but they understand me to be relatively flamboyant and eccentric, so they took it all in stride when i got into it.

Well, my mother loves it. She thinks it's so cute, and loves the girlyness of it. Every year I get a bible at the local anime convention, and she always borrows it. She even helped me sew my Lolita dress! :3 She thinks it's just a fashion style I wear to anime conventions, but I don't think she'd have a problem with me wearing it more often. She's easy-going like that. heart
My dad doesn't know what Lolita is, which isn't that surprising (he doesn't live with me) and the only time he's seen it was when I was going to an anime convention, and he assumed it was "one of those cartoon things."

my mom thinks it's silly. but she doesn't appose. she pays for all of it, currently, because i am without job/income. so she decides what i can and can't have, and she wont buy me brand because it costs too much. she told me once "i thought you were done with this Lolita thing?" i was like "uh, no. not in this life time. or the next. or ever." Lolita's in my blood, and she understands that.

my mom supposedly used to like it, and now she's all, "OH NOES!!11! how dare you not look like everyone else!! people will think im a horrible parent!!"
and she goes on and on about how people "make comments" about my dresses, when really they're just asking what im wearing and she's too embarrassed and paranoid to answer stare
my dad made a big deal out of my sweet lolita outfit. he said something along the lines of me looking like a pink nightmare to my mom, which just made her think that if my dad said something, EVERYONE must think its weird.
even though every time i go to school in it, all of my female teachers and classmates and even some male ones say i look cute.
*sighs* [/rant]

Wow, some of the stories other people have posted make me rather grateful for my parents.
My dad doesn't particularly like lolita. He's never said anything, but I can tell he doesn't get why I like lolita. My mom was the same in the beginning; She didn't understand why I wanted to spend so much money on silly and extravangant clothes, but now I've been to a few meetups and hung out with some other friends who wear lolita and she sees how it isn't as unusual as she thought. So now she's a bit more supportive and thinks I look cute in my dresses. ^^

Everytime I dress lolita, my mom says, "why the hell are you wearing that?"

I actually just asked my mom for a lovely gothic loli dress for my birthday (about 4 months away...). She smiled and said it was me.
I am very lucky. My mother doesn't necisarily like lolita.
But she doesn't mind taking me out in public no matter what I'm dressed in. She is used to the oddness because of my usual goth-emo-alternitive dress. i mean, just yesterday I was wearing a cape (black with skullies and lightening bolts) when we went out to dinner.
I just think that if I ask her for a sweet loli dress she'll look at me funny, because she doesn't get that lolita is diferent from my gothi/emo ness because im more into gothic lolita then sweet.

✝ Oh. My mom is very supportive. ^^ She's the one who wants me to be Lolita. She said she'd pay for all of my outfits. heart And my dad's okay with it. He doesn't really care as long as I don't wear frilly headbands that resemble maid's uniforms'. ✝ もっと あなたを抱きしめ眠りたい 優しい記憶に変わった今でさえも この腕で抱きしめ眠りたい 出会った頃のあの日のままの 二人のようにTo tell you the truth, I'm a man. { Not true }✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝- ✝ ❤

My mom and fiance would be extremely supportive if we had money. I'm too sick to work and so no lolita for awhile. But at least I get to live with a house full of annoying people who love me instead of being poor and left on the streets along with my illness to die.

Okay, yesterday i described Lolita to my mom in email, and when she got home from work, and What she said was, "You're going to have to wear pantaloons, and HUGE bows on your head...are you sure you want to do this, b/c I can't see you wearing this stuff..."
I just stared at her and said, "Mom...I am NOT going to wear pantaloons until i want to, and you know i love bows..."
She likes it alot, but my dad's paranoid about the fashion lolita versus the nasty version... sweatdrop

My mom thinks it's a really cute style and encourages me. But my mom is also a punk rocker so she is kinda used to dressing different. And my dad married a punk rocker so he doesn't really care. Only my aunt and my grandma don't like it.
