Hashire Kazemeijin Zephyrkitty I_love_Inuyasha1 ...Magical Girl of EVA? What. Why. How. WHAT. You stick to the basic tropes of a genre, and people get tired of it. You have to change things up once in a while.
D:Maybe you won't get sick of the genre itself, but you will get sick of those same tropes and go looking for series in that genre that change things up a bit. I love yuri, but 'straight-but Girl A likes straight-but Girl B. They confess, and if you're lucky they kiss. The End', is really boring.

Getting your head bit off and your decapitated corpse devoured, torn limb from limb, flesh rending and bones breaking, is not cute.
Edit: Right in front of the other two main cast girls as they watch helplessly, no less.

However, if the show is really going to be the Eva of magical girl series, then I'd expect it to break rules. It'll probably only get worse from here. Anyway, I need to get to bed. Good night guys!
