"Here, try this one!" he suggested after a few minutes of searching and handed his father a blacksmith's costume. "Eh, this one? What happened to me being a knight, or a dragon?" he inquired, looking the outfit over. "Everyone's doing those, we should do something different!" Huey explained before he pulled out a rather odd costume for himself. "I'm going to go try this one on!" he announced and then scuttled off into the changing room.

MD gave Marx a bit of a look as he commented on how good they were, a sly smile crossing his face as he gave the young man an approving nod. "Well thank you. We try. After all, no one wants to watch a crappy magician." He joked, his gaze returning to Rose as she took a moment to study her card hard before returning it the deck. He smiled and nodded, stopping her from putting it entirely back, leaving the card jutting out from the deck in an obvious manner.
"Alright then, so your card is right there." He flicked the back of the stuck out card, a sly grin crossing his face as he brought the same hand up to the side of his head, fingers in a snapping position. "Now, with a bit of magic… I’m going to change that card. It’ll be something entirely different from the deck. And your card? Your card will be at the bottom." He smiled again, straightening up a bit but still holding the pose. "Alright Jubes, give me a count down. I’ve got to focus and all." he smiled at Rose and Marx too. "Keep your eyes on the cards now. Don’t blink."
With a grin of her own, Jubilee clapped her hands together before holding a hand out to indicate the countdown. "Three! Two! One!" Snapping the fingers next to his head, MD clapped his hand down over the deck quickly before drawing it back, everything looking the same and unmoved. With a smile he reached forward and pulled the jutting card from the deck, handing it back to Rose face down. "Go ahead and look at that one… it’s not the same anymore." He remarked, a sparkle in his eye as he straightened up. When Rose revealed the card, it indeed would no longer be the ace of diamonds but the seven of spades. Once the red head had shown that the card was no longer what it’d been, he rotated his wrist so that the bottom of the deck could be seen, with the ace of diamonds right there at the bottom. "But here is your card." He remarked, Jubilee striking a rather exaggerated pose of presentation to show the conclusion of the trick. Which really wasn’t necessary but hey… she could get as into it as she wanted.
"Good one, right?" MD inquired, watching the pair a moment as he gauged their reactions. It was always important to judge how well a trick was received.

It was clear that Olivia was distracted, the cause clearly being Plasma's presence in the area, making Vince that much more aggravated about their appearance. He had hoped that going and claiming his lotto winnings would serve as a decent distraction, but Plasma grunts were everywhere, serving as a constant reminder of both the speech and their presence. At least they were fewer in number here than they had been in the stage area, and Olivia granted the small courtesy of small talk, commenting on his haul from the lotto. "I wasn't expecting to win so much, but yes, perhaps something has garnered me good fortune from the gods." He chuckled. To think that one measly little ticket had earned him all this, it was more than a little humbling. After some of the rewards had been stored away or distributed among a few of his pokemon, Vince began to suggest that they head to another area of the fair, hoping that perhaps there would be another part of the area that had even fewer grunts to deal with. Before he could finish though, he had grown distracted by two grunts making a ruckus nearby, and Vince excused himself to deal with the criminals personally, saving the appreciative ballsmith apprentice.

The large feline gave a growling mewl, and before anyone could react, the group was covered with dirt. Vince managed to step in front of Olivia to try and shelter her, but his eyes were filled with dirt and forced to closed.
Now he was thoroughly pissed off. "Xiu Feng, disarming voice!" He ordered the lupup, knowing that in spite of whether or not she couldn't see from the sand attack, that particular attack would hit regardless, and if it was against a liepard, it would be even more effective given the type matchup and Xiu Feng's adaptability. The black and red lupup let out a echoing yowl that was met with another yowl of pain from what Vince could only assume was the liepard they were up against. Vince's watery eyes couldn't make out much, but he at least had a feel for how the battle was going. "Clever, using a move like that, but it won't do you any good! Liepard, use scratch!" The feline hissed and Vince was able to hear contact as it's claws raked across a still disoriented and confused Xiu Feng, but another disarming voice and the liepard was knocked out cold. "Liepard! Oh you're gonna pay for that one pretty boy!" The plasma woman yelled, and Xiu Feng suddenly gave a yelp as she was snatched up. Vince still couldn't see, but like hell he was going to let this woman take his most precious pokemon. He drew his katana, listening closely to the surrounding area, but more for Xiu Feng's noises of struggle. "Let her go. Now!" Vince demanded, though it was evident he still couldn't see, making the grunt smirk at his threats. "Or what, you'll wave your sword blindly and wildly at the air?" Speaking up had been a mistake, one that Vince quickly made her aware of as he swung his blade around to her direction and pointed it her way as a warning. "You underestimate me." He snarled. "Put. Her. Down." The grunt seemed quite rattled when Vince was able to pinpoint her location. "Yipe!" She squeaked, dropping Xiu Feng and booking it before Vince did anything drastic.
Hearing her retreat and Xiu Feng's angry barking nearby made him relax his posture, but he wasn't ready to drop his sword just yet. Blinded, he felt vulnerable, and in need of the safety net of extra protection that was his katana. He blinked, involuntary tears still streaming down his cheeks from his body's attempt to purge the foreign substance in his eyes. "Gah.... Curse this sand...!" Vince growled, blinking furiously and trying to wipe out his tear ducts. "This is bad, we need to get out of here." He insisted to Olivia. As much as he wanted to stay in the main entrance and pummel these punks, he wasn't going to be much good if he was blind. A tactical retreat to a less plasma flooded area so that he could clean the sand from his eyes would be the best course of action for now, and Olivia would have to be his eyes.

Callie certainly had to give it to the grunt, as he was smart enough at this time to realize he'd made an error. The grunt had his Golurk use Focus Punch this time, a far stronger move...but it was too little to late. One more crack of Callie's whip and Hentai had finished the golem off with a final blast of energy. Once exiting the changing stall Huey began to search for his father but, when he immediately find him, he shuffled off to the side and contended himself to wait for the man to finish changing, after all the two had entered the stalls at the same time. It wasn't long before the older man finally stepped out, donned in his blacksmith's outfit and idly twirling a foam hammer between his fingers. He looked around and, once he'd spotted his son, made a beeline for Huey. "Well aren't you just cute," he teased and gave a part of Huey's hair a puff up. The boy only snorted before he looked down at the ground, embarrassed at the compliment but pleased all the same. He hadn't been going for cute, he'd been going for... well, he actually wasn't sure what he'd been trying for; but 'cute' definitely wasn't it!
"How do I look?" his father asked, tapping his hammer onto Huey's head to regain his attention. "Uhm," he looked back up, taking in the apron draped over his front and rolled up sleeves. "Like a blacksmith?" he offered finally, then grinned. "I think it really suits you, dad!" His father chuckled before he brought his hand backwards to card his fingers through his hair. "Good enough for me, I suppose." He looked back down at Huey, curious. "You like that outfit?" he waited for Huey to give a nod of response before he began to move to the cash register. "Alright, then we'll buy 'em. Try not to get yours dirty before your mother sees you, she'll love this." Huey quickly moved to join his father's side, nodding along the way. He'd certainly try and keep clean, but... this was a crowded fair, who knew what could happen!

Try as she might Olivia wasn't able to get her mind off the fact that Team Plasma had invaded the fair, and it was obvious that it wasn't because they wanted to enjoy the festivities. Vince had moved them away from the staging area to retrieve his winnings for his drawn lottery ticket, but that was more of an excuse to get them, though Olivia more specifically, away from the grunts. The man was able to grab his prize, a pile of TM's as something extra, but they hadn't managed to escape the grunts, as frustrating as it was. As distracted as she was, Olivia still managed to make a comment on Vince's items once he'd opened his goodie bag to reveal its insides. She laughed quietly when he suggested that the gods had granted him good fortune before she offered a shrug, "let's hope it lasts a little longer," she murmured slyly. While Vince seemed to show some favor with the gods the same couldn't be said about anyone else, least of all a pokeball apprentice who'd managed to gain the ill-attention of two grunts. Vince was quick to react, coming to the boy's rescue, and even quicker in sending the grunts packing.
Once Vince had cleared the immediate danger, and begun being thanked profusely by the ball apprentice, Olivia took the time to return both Cayenne and Poppy before she released Valerian and sent her off to retrieve Licorice. Both were well aware of Plasma's habit of snatching pokemon that weren't theirs, though that could be said about every villainous group, and although she was sending the Bisharp off on her own she was confident in her partner's ability to remain safe and under the radar. Valerian had just moved away when Vince returned, offering an apology for his abrupt exit. Despite the situation the pinkette felt herself begin to smile when Vince admitted to rather be enjoying the fair with her than dealing with ill-behaved grunts. "No need to apologize," she insisted, then laughed. "You're right, I definitely wouldn't have complained. You did the right thing, and certainly showed those grunts a thing or two~" Feeling a tad better, Olivia was about to suggest they head out to a new area, as soon as Valerian returned with Licorice, when they were interrupted, for the second time, though this time it was by a direct attack to the two of them.
She'd blame herself for being distracted enough not to see the grunt racing directly towards them, but where the blame truly laid would have to be decided later, now certainly wasn't the time for that. Vince had moved in front of her to protect her from the incoming sand-attack, getting sand in his eyes in the process. Olivia grit her teeth and moved from behind Vince, annoyed; granted, not as much as Vince most likely was, but still. Luckily Xiu Feng was able to take care of the Liepard, though not without taking damage from the feline's claws in the process. Still, the battle was over almost as quickly as it'd began but, rather than retreat as her previous teammates had done, the woman tried to steal Xiu Feng-- no doubt in order to 'liberate' her. Vince was quick to draw his katana, despite his current blindness, and demanded that the woman release his pokemon. Olivia opened her mouth, prepared to help by revealing the woman's location, though her assistance wouldn't be necessary as the grunt foolishly spoke up, announcing where she was. Understandably frightened by the sword pointed directly at her the woman released Xiu Feng before booking it, leaving in her wake an aggravated Vince and barking Xiu Feng.
Olivia turned around only once the woman had truly left, a frown settled on her face. As much as she wanted to run after the woman and demand answers, or some sort of repentance, she was probably long gone at this point, besides... she couldn't just leave Vince alone, certainly not in this state. Expression softening she gently nudged Vince's hands away from his eyes, "don't rub your eyes, you'll only make it worse." She took his face in her hands, turning it side-to-side slowly, and with her thumb brushed at the tears that leaked from his eyes. "We need to flush your eyes out with water," she told him, though nodded when he insisted they leave. "Alright..." Olivia looked around her, lips pursed, only to relax when she saw Licorice, with Valerian behind her, approaching. "Let's go." The pinkette took Vince's hand, prepared to lead him away, only to pause. "Vince, you might want to put your katana away first. It's too crowded here." Though he couldn't see it, she offered him a smile and squeezed his hand gently. "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe~"
