In reference to Daekie's question:

It has been previously stated that transcendence was around in the Silver Millenium, it was just relatively rare, and memories could be received of this if transcendence was reached in the present (see here, and also here). Which should we follow?

Thanks!

Thanks for finding these old MQ&A answers. While we generally discourage players from relying on old information in the MQ&A or previous rulings (especially those that are several years old) in this instance, the information was not properly recorded and was not included in our information threads when we updated them; we made the best ruling that we could at the time but this is worth amending given that players may have already assumed their character was Transcended in the past. Transcendence was released through a player proposal and plot so we were being overly cautious in our most recent MQ&A answer and didn’t want to accidentally permit characters to have had this feature (even in the past life) prior to the player ‘discovery’ in present day.

We will update our information threads to allow that Transcendence is ICly permissible in the past life, but only after achieving it in present day, and players should disclose if their character was meant to be Transcended in the past. The old answers outline that this should be rare so players should disclose this information in their Transcendence proposal or when planning past life. If players have already played their character as Transcended in the past life or as having memories pertaining to Transcendence, we would like to ask that they please send in a PM to make sure we have a record of their plot and reasoning for this!

Because these answers from 8 years ago indicate that it was meant to be rare, we would like to ensure that we are working with players to maintain that! While characters might have Transcended during the Silver Millennium, no one should be considered an expert on the matter, especially in the past. Information would have been very lacking, and because the requirements were different on each world, it should not be assumed that Transcendence was (or is) possible for everyone. A character might be able to assume or infer that it was more likely to happen for a character who had a close connection to their World or Wonder, but this is not a guarantee. Even if a Transcended character were to reach fourth stage and unlock all of their past life memories, they should still not be an expert on Transcendence; they might recall their own experience but because all Transcendence is unique (even between lifetimes) there is no true advice or instruction on how they or others should unlock it. Because Transcendence cannot be unlocked by will or desire, the process is entirely dependent on personal plots and cannot be predicted or forced.

A Transcended character may talk about their current experience unlocking it in present day, but players will need to PM The Space Cauldron to outline how they would have liked it to happen in the past so we can make sure it is within our expectations. This will apply for all future Transcended characters, and we will be asking characters who might have been playing or assumed their character Transcended during the Silver Millennium to send in a PM including this information as well. We will include this in the next shop update we do just to make sure all players have a chance to see the information!

From my understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong!), knight powers need to focus on one of the virtues belonging to the senshi planet with which they're aligned. With that in mind, I was curious about the appearance spheres — are knights required to have all appearance descriptors present, or just one like with their powers/virtues?

Thanks!!

Knight magic only needs to utilize one of the power themes associated with their aligned world, and similarly they only need to utilize at least one of their associated appearance themes as well! Players can use one aligned appearance theme or any combination of them, but this is optional. If a design can easily be mistaken for another Knight group (due to overlapping swatches or appearance themes) we will ask that players incorporate other appearance themes just to make them easily identifiable (for example, Jupiter and Earth Knights have similar color swatches and appearance themes) but for the most part one appearance theme is enough!

Do moon knights have an aspect / are they planned to get one?

They will have an Aspect but it has not been ICly released yet!

Within the Negaverse, are the ways an agent can half-youmafy common knowledge? I assume it being a result of an overstrained starseed is generally known as a way to dissuade overeager Captains from trying to promote their subordinates, but how well known is it that consuming too many starseeds can also cause it?

How majorly can a character's Powered palette change upon ranking up, especially for Negaverse Officers who were formerly Knights & kept that color scheme once corrupted?
I.e. -- Placeholder of Mars corrupts, becomes Captain Placeholderite; still wearing red as their primary color, just dark red. Upon becoming General Placeholderite, could their primary color change to blue; if so, would they need to retain red accents?
Or: Sailor Example's primary colors are sea-green and xanthous. As Super Sailor Example, could these colors change to forest-green and carrot orange?

It is commonly known that consuming too many starseeds or trying to channel Chaos before being the proper rank can result in partial or full youmafication. Captains or Generals should include this information when their subordinates are still fresh in the Negaverse and should caution them on starseed consumption.

A character’s powered palette can change somewhat as they grow, but ideally there will be some visible IC tie in. This is something that is best discussed through a PM with the mule with the specific character and intention in mind so we can work with the player on how to best accommodate the desired changes! Changes without an IC tie in are more limited than changes that occur through a plot, as having an IC explanation for a change can result in more leniency with design overhauls. If you have a character who you would like to change the colors for, please PM one of the shop mules so we can work with you! If you don’t have an IC plot in mind, we can also suggest one; these don’t need to be very intense or detailed, they just need to ICly explain the changes.

When a youma is permanently dusted by a royal senshi or knight, what happens to their starseed? Is it destroyed or lost?

When a youma is permanently dusted, it is and its starseedis completely destroyed with no chance of restoration or recovery.

The rules say backdating is fine up to 6 months ~ I'm trying to work through my character's growth from teenager to adulthood over the past 10 years. I don't plan on using those backdated threads for growth to the next stage, but is it okay to use them for crown tokens?

This should be fine! The roleplays do not have to ICly take place during the month you are claiming; the only requirement for claiming is based on the OOC dates when a roleplay was started or finished!

Would any Deep Space Senshi be aware of Velencya, or are the Vanguard & Velencians a complete unknown to them in general?

Deep Space Senshi should not have knowledge of Velencya/Velencia unless approved; information would vary based on how old the DSS is, and where Velencya was in its development or destruction. Because it is canon that no one came to Velencia's aid when their world was destroyed, and because they were offered no aid after they lost their world, it could create plot holes if too many worlds had significant information about this. Additionally, because information on the world that attacked them has not ICly been discussed in depth, this would not be information others should know. While it might be possible to know that Velencya is an artificial world surviving in space, it would be unlikely to know much more than this. If players want to double check what their character can know, please PM the The Space Cauldron!

If a half-youma purifies and loses powered memories, would they retain memories from their 3-hour civilian glamour, or only retain civilian memories from before their transformation?

Half-youma characters will lose either the memories of their civilian life from before they became half-youma, or their powered life. While it may be possible to recover some of their memories through plots or IC RP Items, players should expect that the character has lost an entire aspect of their previous self. It may also be possible to approve some limited civilian or powered memories to be carried over after a purification. More information can be found in this post but if you want to work out specifics for your character or see if some memories might be possible to carry over, please PM the mule and we can work with you!

Is it "transcendent senshi" or "transcended senshi"? I've seen both, so i wanted to check and see if there was an official stance on the terminology or if it was up to players!

The official terminology is 'Transcended Senshi'! All OOC information threads (including the Master Character List and the information about Transcended Senshi) only refer to them as Transcended. In their past life, a Transcended character might have had a different title unique to that world because the act of Transcending was meant to be incredibly rare and each ritual was unique. In present day, an Order character may choose to use the word 'Transcendent', but ICly and OOCly this is not the official title; it would be like using a nickname.

Not sure if this has been answered elsewhere, if it has I apologize. My eyes have failed me. In any case, with regard to wordcount for solos. If one were to write a solo with two of their characters interacting, how is wordcount determined if it isn't written post-by-post?

If you are writing a solo featuring two of your characters, each must have at least 500 words to count for a solo. Writing 800 words for one character and 200 for another means that only one of them would get the solo requirement filled.

Wordcount can be determined by who is speaking/acting/interacting or describing the environment. There is some wiggle room on how word count can be counted in this way and we trust that players will make their best judgment of which written words are coming from the perspective of which character/s they are using.

For example, if there are descriptions of the environment that don't feel 'assigned' to a character and is not being written from the perspective of a single character, the player can use their best judgment to assign which character that word count will be added towards.

Similar to the question above, can two characters you own pledge to bond? Or would that require role-play between two different players?

A player can have two of their own characters pledge to bond to each other! The two characters must have visible interaction and closeness to one another, and may appear in roleplays or solos together where this is depicted. All other requirements to bond will be the same, and the player will need to be prepared to show their extensive interaction to justify the bond.

Does time pass the same on homeworlds/wonders? As in, one day there = one day on Earth?

Twelve hours on a Homeworld passes the same as twelve hours on Earth, but players can customize the day/night cycle on their Homeworld so a day on Earth might not be the same as a day on their Homeworld. Compared to Earth's 24 hours per day, some Homeworlds may have day/night cycles that last much more or much less than what we experience on Earth, and may even have multiple suns or moons that give abnormal day/night schedules.

Time does not move any faster or slower on a Homeworld but it might feel as though they are there for a longer or shorter duration based on what their day/night cycle is when compared to Earth's.

I know this isn't in the Guardian cat info thread so I thought I'd ask here because I'm curious.

I understand the mechanic in which Guardian Cats suppress the aura of powered individuals in their vicinity with concentration but what I'd like to know is when a Mauvian chooses to live among civilians who are also senshi, how can they mask their own unique power signature as to not draw enemies in closer to the place they are living in?

There's a bit of information on Mauvian Energy signatures in this post, but a Mauvian cannot dampen their own energy signature. However, while they are in their ‘cat’ form, they have a severely dampened energy signature and powered characters must be in extremely close proximity to a Guardian Cat to feel their energy signature. If a Mauvian is inside a house or apartment, it is incredibly unlikely that a powered character will be near enough to sense their aura, so there is rarely any real concern about drawing enemies in. If a Mauvian needed to mask their energy signature in an emergency situation, they could assume their civilian glamour (for an hour per day, or three if they have unlocked their humanoid form), but otherwise the risk is very low/nearly impossible that a powered character could locate a Mauvian inside a home. The Mauvian would need to be careful while coming and going, but they would be able to sense other powered energy signatures well before anyone else would be able to sense the Mauvian.

Does Knightside Elementary have a school mascot? I know some primary schools do... If so, what is it? Thanks! heart

While they might have in the past, a lot of old information on the school threads have been lost to time. For the time being, Knightside does not have a mascot but we will look into this and make an announcement when we have updates for the school(s)!
