Valens and the NaginataKuyoja Teachers notes:
Valens showed an interest in the art of the Naginata, and did well on his first lesson. It would be good for him to practice with the weapon to gain a more concious effort gracefullness and confidence. Your son has a lot of strength, it would be best to have him continue with lessons with me to train that strength as well gain the paitence and understanding of how to use it properly.

The box possibly had more color than the gift itself, it was a bright red, splattered in a shimmering green and silver specks of glitter that made many swirls and patterns up the side of the box. And holding it all together was a huge golden bow, tied neatly at the top, with it's tails curled in the fanciest of fashions.
It was possibly safe to say that this item was from a girl... Or one of the more questionable boys....
But, looks aside, it was what was inside that really mattered, right? So once the decoritive box was opened, inside Valen's would find two objects. The first; a bright red apple, with another ribbon tied to it's stem, but thankfully glitter free. And the second; a small toy horse, and not just any horse, it was unmistakably a clydesdale. It'd taken alot of careful work to get it detached from the christmas set-up it had originally been in, but now the simple display item was a full out toy. Tied sweetly to his neck with another red bow was a little note that read "Merry Christmas! Take good care of him" with a little heart drawn at the end.

Valens' SS
Valens was all but dancing in place as he looked over the gift that he had received from the Secret Santa game. An apple and the coolest figure of a Clydesdale ever! He picked the horse up first, looking it over in close inspection before his tail set to swishing, "This is far to cool." He said, holding it up to show it off to Ellie who was standing nearby.
The Silver dragon leaned in to look it over before smiling at her boy, nodding her approval of the toy. The fact that his dragon seemed to like it only made the horse boy's liking for the toy increase tenfold.
"I wish I knew who sent it to me, I would like to thank them. They even wrapped it all pretty for me." He said, then reached over to pick up the apple, taking a bite out of it and chewed as he thought.
It made him wonder if maybe he should have tried a bit harder in the wrapping the gift that he had given. He'd only wrapped some ribbon around it, definitely not something as full out as this present had been wrapped, "I hope the one that got my gift liked it even though it wasn't wrapped as nicely as this one." He said.
Ellie gave a groan, nipping at her boy.
"Huh, wha...? Oh! Hahahaha... sorry. Talking with my mouth full." He said, then realized he'd just done it again. He closed his mouth, chewed, and swallowed, "Sorry about that Ellie."
Ellie gave a dragons version of a shrug, one could do their best to dress Valens up and make him look nice but he was still himself... still Valens. She loved him dearly but he was still lacking in the basics when it came to manners... she would keep at it though. She was determined to at least teach him such things like chewing with ones mouth closed.

A Gift from a GirlFrom Alora Valens’ gift from Alora was in simple red wrapping paper with light horse motifs. The gift itself was a small figurine of a rocking horse. The horse was brown, with a black mane and tail. Sequined ribbons formed the harness around the snout. On the horse’s side was a small analog clock. The card which came with the present said, “Merry Christmas Valens! With love, from Alora.” Valens was surprised again with another gift, this one making him a bit more excited. Not only because it was another awesome gift with a horse motif but because it had come from a girl, "Hehehehe, I got a gift from a girl!" He said, showing off the horse clock to his dragon before he gave it a hug, "This is the best gift that a guy could get!" Ellie gave a bit of a shake of her head, her boy was rather simple minded wasn't he? Apples, horse items, and girls were some of the things that made him the most excited and they were such simple things. She'd once heard the phrase 'Simple Minds, Simple Pleasures' and knew for a fact that it applied to her boy. She gave him a smile finally and he took the smile as approval before he was soon talking once more, "I should get something nice for Alora. I mean look at what she got me! And she is such a cute girl. I wonder what I should get her. What do girls like? Shiny things, right?" The Silver dragon felt the urge to give her boy a n** for thinking in such a stereotypical manner but it was to late as he'd already moved off to fetch the large jar that he kept his money in. It was mostly in quarter form as he went to the arcades so often a moment later it was being dumped out onto the floor and he was counting it out, "I bet with this I could get her something nice, something shiny. Wanna go shopping Ellie? I could use a girl's opinion." Ellie nodded, that could be a good idea. Maybe she could help him find something nice for his friend. Valens stuffed the numerous quarters in his pockets before he rose to his feet, "Come on, lets see if we can get a ride to the mall." He said, heading out of his room jingling as he walked. Well... at least it wouldn't be hard to follow him Ellie thought to herself.

Valens and the NaginataIt was strange to see her boy spending so much time on something that didn't involve a lot of running, jumping, climbing, or other such strenuous activity. Instead he was working with that bamboo weapon that his teacher had given to him. It was a lot of repetitive motions that Ellie really thought he would get bored with after a while and yet here he was working at it again. He did as the teacher had suggested, to do the two motions he'd been shown on a daily basis. He was showing such dedication that it made the Silver so very proud of him, he was being such a good boy! Her tail swished behind her, soon enough they would be ready for another class with the teacher. She wasn't sure why but she looked forward to the idea of seeing the man again. He was interesting in her mind if for no other reason then the fact that he was able to make her boy concentrate on something for more then five minutes that wasn't a bouncing girl. "Do you see? I can do the motions well now without fear of hitting the naginata against the floor." Valens said to his dragon sounding incredibly pleased with himself. He couldn't wait for his next class so that he could show instructor how good he was getting at it. He'd also been working on holding the weapon as well, trying to hold it out straight for longer and longer. He didn't know if it was a needed skill for the class but the teacher had told him to do it during class so it might be important. Maybe it was an issue of stamina? Or control maybe? He'd yet to get that part figured out but the physical side of it he was starting to get a better handle on. Then again the physical side of life was something he'd always been far better at then the intellect side. Ellie gave a smile, "Good." She told her boy. The fact that he was being so careful was a plus too, if one ever looked at the state most of his clothing and toys were in they would know that he was very hard on things, often breaking them though not on purpose. He was so careful with the weapon, not seeming to want to risk hurting it. She was pretty sure it was because he wanted to stay in good graces with the teacher, the man seemed to deal well with Valens even more so then LaVey himself did. The Silver's hackles rose a little at the thought of her boy's father. It wasn't that the man was a bad man, he just wasn't an ideal choice for the role of father. He didn't know what he was doing, often scolded her boy to much, and didn't praise him enough. Some days the man was asking to get bitten... though that wasn't a very Silver thing to do was it? She drew in a breath, held it, then let it out slowly. She couldn't resort to violence like the Chromatics, she was a good girl and would remain as such. "I want to see if Mom will sign me up for another class soon with Mr. Kuyoja. He was nice." The horse said, placing the butt of the naginata against the ground and rested again it, catching his breath. He lifted a hand to wipe it over his brow then gave a laugh, "Woah, sweaty. I bet I smell pleasant, huh?" He said jokingly, doubting any girls would want anything to do with him in his currently state. He checked the clock before stretching out, "I guess I will call it a day and get a shower." The Silver dragon gave a nod of her head and fell into step along side her boy. She followed as far as the door to the bathroom where Valens leaned his weapon against the wall, "Guard this for me." He said, then went into the bathroom. The Silver dragon laid down in front of the door to protect both her boy and the weapon he cherished so dearly from any harm that may befall it. ***** Mom's ThoughtsLamiah I wasn't so sure what I thought about my son learning how to use weapons when I first heard about it. After all weapons are tools of war, war is never a good thing... but to see him pratice at it makes me wonder if maybe I were wrong. He seems to be trying to so hard at it, as if he wants to prove himself through the training. He tells me good things about his teacher, that the man was helpful and wasn't hard on him when he didn't get things right away. Valens is impressed by anyone that is like that though, people that can deal with the fact that he isn't as quick as some on the uptake. Hes a good boy but he seems to be the brawns over brains sort. I wonder if maybe that is why he and his father don't get along well, LaVey is the exact opposite. They see each everything in different ways so its hard for them to find common ground, even with magic the sort that Valens is learning is Body Magic where as for LaVey he used to be an Elementalist. They are walking to very different paths in life and it seems as if the two paths will never cross, its a bit disheartening to watch them day in and day out... I want them to be closer but I know that pushing them won't help either. I just have to be there for both of them, that is my role as Mother to one and... whatever it is that I am to LaVey. Hard to tell some days. Somewhere between girlfriend and servant depending on his mood but I don't mind, after all I seem to be the only one that sees his good moods. Lamiah tucked the journal away into the drawer of her nightstand then gave a little smile to herself as she finished writing. It always helped to write like that because it helped her to focus on the things at hand that were bothering her. Now that she was focused she needed to think of what to do next for the pair of stubborn men she lived with.

Random event!
It seems fate has struck once again, while spring is in the air, perhaps something else is too...
Valens has begun to feel a bit under the weather... A runny, itchy nose... if it persists, maybe you should bring him in to D-corp?
