New years was close at hand, or moreso, had already passed... however, the party had been cleverly planned for the day after new years so that others could spend time with their friends and family on the actual day.

The party was set up in Kat's room, the kindergarden supplies were all stashed away to make room for a very festive area, gold and silver streamers were everywhere, harmless poppers were placed out of the younger children's reach, but were avalable to the older children who could handle them better, along with a small warning not to point it at another's face. And for the younger children, noise makers, and other little toys were set out for them to have. Cheap party favors, really.

On the counter was a series of cookies, punch (without bree's touch this time) and some other snacks. A TV was playing cartoons that related to the various holidays, and some board games were placed around for everyone to use, and there were places to sit and relax or just play around.

Kat was first in the room, having set it up, and now stood to hand out little hats that had the new year on them in sparkly letters.

The children would be given a bit of time to arrive(IC wise: 30 minutes, OOC wise: 24 hours), before the secret santas would be announced to those there, and everyone could thank the person for their wonderful gifts.

Upon getting the note in the mail about the new years party, Penn instantly went about getting the boys some party clothes. Gotts had long sense gotten out of the habit of where and how he was able to afford such things. He never got a straight answer anyway.

The boys however loved their clothes. Even Aus who was usually more reserved was excited about the new apparel. Of course, they were just as happy about bath time that it took both parents to get the boys out of the tub and keep them that way. Dried, clothed, combed and ready, Penn loaded the twins into the car and headed to the designated party site.

Upon arrival, the boys greeted Kat politely, playing with their proffered hats and wearing them as everything else besides hats.

Party party yay! It was his first-ever planned get together. There would be people he didn't know there, lots of them supposedly. But the phase of shyness in Canti had passed it seemed some time ago, and he was excited. Any time out nowadays was a worshipped time for him.

Canti didn't have to be told to wear his gift to the party- he had the scarf slung around his neck and tied neatly, the long gloves stretching up his lower arms. He was supposed to meet and thank this gift-giver person at this party, and he was happy. Would they be an older person? Or maybe a little kid? Either way, he was sparkle-eyed with the idea of a mystery gift.

Tugging Lucas into the room with one arm, Canti's eyes scouted the room for anyone.

"Aus, Sascha!" He called, pleased to see the two leopard children he had recently spent a winter day with. What were they doing with their hats? Were they hats? The ant fiddled with his as he strode towards the familiar faces.

For the first time since he could remember, Anoki was on time. That was probably helped by the fact that Raven, remembering how the last "party" turned out, opted not to come. That meant that he was spared having to wait for her to be ready, though she did have a few things to say about his appearance before he left.

Personally, Anoki thought he looked a bit too dressed up. Instead of his usual tank tops and sweatshirts, he was wearing a black dress shirt and slacks. Raven had tried to get him to wear a tie, but he ducked out before she could force it on him. If he wore that, it would distract from the ornate pendant he wore on a long cord around his neck.

Myung-Ki was also wearing a new necklace, consisting of a blob of blue glass on an iron disk. It was completely against his taste, but worse than that, it was spelled to keep his smoke-breathing in check. Even the fancy gold collar he wore over it didn't make him feel better. He glared at everything, and twice came close to tearing down some of the party decorations out of spite, just on their way in.

"Myung-Ki! Th-that's enough!" Anoki scolded, looking around nervously. He was one of the few people there, which was a nice change from being late. But it left him with a new worry- what was he supposed to do while everyone else arrived?

Both sets of ears perked at the calling of their names. “Canti~!” The pair of boys met their friend half way. They were in the process of greeting when a stranger entered shortly after with a different dragon than they’d seen before.

The boys hid behind their friend as the horned stranger and his dragon entered the party. Eyeing him warily. He didn’t seem to worrisome but his dragon on the other hand…

“Who iz zat?”

“Do joo know him?” They asked from their various hiding spots behind Canti.

Ligeia walked into the room that the party was being held in and looked around to see who was around so far. The owl had his hair gathered back in a braid that fell passed his waist and he was dressed up in simple garb of a black skirt and a white tank top with star on it. He was bare foot today, not needing shoes since the cold didn't bother him and the walk here had been a short one.

As he gazed around he realized while didn't know who the little ones were though they were cute but he did recognize Anoki. He gave a bright smile and was half tempted to go over and pounce the ibex boy and give him a hug since it had been a while but he didn't want to scare him or anything, "This should be fun." He said to those that came with him.

Vorel gave a nod of his head before looking around, he didn't see anyone that he knew sadly. There was still time though so maybe someone would show up that he could talk too? There was a dragon here though, a red that he was pretty sure he'd seen before just wasn't very well acquainted with.

"Meh, it will be fun if the right people show up." Ter said, a scan of the room left him disappointed. There was no Z and there were no cute girls to talk either. Just a bunch of boys... boring, "I'm gonna investigate the snack table." He told his brother before slithering off in that direction.

His wyvern followed after him quickly having as much interested in children as her boy had which was very little. Unless they came baring gifts for her greatness to enjoy she didn't much care for them.

"As anti social as ever." Ligeia said to his dragon before walking in and greeted the room with, "Hello everyone!" A gathering was just what he needed to perk up his spirits he thought to himself.

Valens was dressed up as nicely as Valens could dress up. The pants he wore were the ones with the least amount of holes in them and the shirt was actually one of the new ones he got while out shopping. He gave his dragon a smile, "We arrived in the right place so you can let go of my hand." He said to her. He was grateful for her help but he didn't want to walk in with his dragon leading him, it would be a bit embarrassing.

Ellie gazed up at him for a long moment before finally giving a nod and released him. They were standing in the door way so there was no possible way that he could get lost between were they stood and the two steps it would take to get inside, "Careful. Your clothing is almost nice." She said, following her boy inside.

He nodded, "It doesn't look like there is anything that I can get myself tangled on so I doubt I will rip up what I'm wearing Ellie." He assured her.

Both of the two looked around the room to see who was there so far. Valens knew the snake boy from some classes he'd been in, not his favorite person cause the snake just gave him the creepy crawlies. The rest he didn't know but they seemed like a fun bunch.

Ellie on the other hand spotted first and foremost a Red dragon which caused her to step closer to her boy. Hard to tell if she were trying to protect him from the Red or trying to get him to protect her. Chromatic dragons made her a little nervous and Reds most especially though she wasn't exactly sure why, just an innate fear and dislike of them. It made her feel a little guilty as the Red could be a good guy like Hinder but... since she didn't know him she would make no moves in his direction just in case.

Myung-Ki snorted and swiped another streamer, but his heart wasn't in it. He felt silly, which he hated. He couldn't even try to torch things. And to top it off, more dragons came in- including a bigger one. Worse, a Frost. Myung-Ki may have been vain, but he wasn't stupid enough to pick a fight with a big snowman.

Then he spotted the Silver, and hissed. He would certainly be keeping an eye on that one through the evening. Or sooner. Growling, he started off in that direction-

- and was held back by Anoki, who grabbed his dragon by the collar. "Enough!" he said through gritted teeth. The kids seemed nice, if a bit scared of him- or maybe of Myung-Ki. And then there were a couple boys who were his own age. All boys so far, he noticed. And one girl- some white bird that Anoki hadn't met. She reminded the ibex of someone, but he couldn't quite remember who...

Since she had addressed the room at large, he didn't feel too nervous about waving back. "H-hi! Happy N-new Year!"

Upon receiving the letter, Alora had eagerly accepted to go to the new year's party, wanting to know who it was exactly who had given her the pendant which now hung around her neck. Then, she could thank him, or her properly, even though she felt guilty about not giving the other a present.

Now, dressed in a light blue shirt and pink skirt, the girl made her way into the room, her long blond hair tied back in a neat ponytail, her long fringe hanging out the sides, complementing the two feathers that hung there. Sky blue eyes scanned the room to see if she recognized anyone, giving a smile as she skipped over to Valens' back, putting her hands over his eyes. "Hi Valens!" She said cheerily.

After debating over and over in her mind, Vivina decided to come out for the party. She had not been in the best of moods lately, but seeing as the party may cheer her up some more, she decided to go. She wore the purple and pink clothes her secret santa had gotten her as well as a simple humble dress. Her hair was tied back and brushed neatly for once. However, Vivina did not walk in with a skip and a hop. Rather, she crept in and quickly settled herself in a corner, hoping not to get noticed. She wanted to watch, not to talk since she didn't have anything to say to anyone. She grabbed a cup of punch and sipped it quietly as her large eyes scanned the classroom for anyone she may know.

While Vivina kept to herself in a corner, Sephayr burst into the room with a proud roar and immediately went for some cookies. He was wearing Vivina's old hat from New Years Day way back when she was just a toddler and a small black bow. If he had limbs, he would have gladly strut in with a cane. The amphithere gazed at the streamers above his head and snorted. Those things are definitely not pretty. At least now he doesn't have to worry about tearing things down. Although something was telling him that the gold tinsel streamers were asking for trouble...

Taren had been unsure about this whole party idea from the beginning, when his mother had first read out the letter to him and explained he had balked at the idea, he was better now in his shyness than when he was younger but that nervous edge, that instinct to run and hide in somewhere secure when faced with people or bright lights for that matter would never completely vanish. And this party had both.

What had changed his mind was the fact that he would get to meet the person that had given him the book. His secret santa. Imagine his surprise when he'd seen that there already existed a mole that wore clothes and spoke and walked around on his back legs just like him. He'd even wanted to bring his new book along with him, but his mother assured him that a book was not the sort of thing you took to a party so Wind in the Willows had been left on the boys bedside table.

Small eyes blinked behind large thick frames as he stared at the decorations around the room, it certainty had transformed the normal class room quite a bit in Taren's eyes. But he remained behind his mothers legs as they entered, for there were already a number of d-corp children and dragons that he didn't know.
But during to a knew policy his adoptive parent had about helping him get over his shyness he foun himself pushed out into the room.

Quickly he looked around for someone he recognized, and spotted Valens and Alora standing a little way off with a silver dragon. Valens had gotten bigger...quite a bit bigger than when he first saw him but he still remembered the horse boy rather fondly from their play date in the park and he's met the dove girl a few times now. So waving nervously he started to edge his way over to them.

"Ayyyyyiiiie Da Vinci!"

A loud declaration had escaped Max's throat as he scampered along, twirling and twisting all the while. His arms had flailed and his tail had clattered in the habitual manner, all of his noise falling into the nature of a jamboree. His feet had seemed to move to his own rhythm, and his attention had followed suit with the nonsense of spinning in circles while shouting his jibberish to the great room. He had only paused to greet the woman at the door, handing out shimmering hats (which had managed to capture his attention quickly). While he had not taken one, he had certainly reserved a moment to admire the lettering and to blubber an incoherent phrase about it. The hurricane that he was, it had not lasted long. He had lost interest in the hat and had gained it towards the white collared shirt he had been forced into, as well as the uncomfortable formal pants. He already hated them both; they made everything uncomfortable, and that made having fun all the more difficult. With a few hesitant glances over his shoulder, Max had unbuttoned a few buttons of the shirt. His feet had shuffled within the awkwardly fitting shoes, as if attempting to kick them off in an inconspicuous manner; then he had stopped. A hand grasping his collar had sent a chill up his spine, leaving him with a pouting face and an irritable feeling within his stomach. It was not until the hand had released him that he had folded his arms and scuffled his shoes against the floor.

Kenneth had learned quickly to keep tabs on his boy. He was more wild than a crazed, hyper hound. Without a little constraint, there was nothing but trouble - and he had swore up and down that he would not have a replay of the various sliding incidents that had occurred throughout their time being together. All it seemed to take was a grab of the collar to get the message across that there was no active game to be had. Max had seemed to get better at listenin --- His thought had come too soon. The boy had bound off without a word, disappearing somewhere within the room and leaving behind his shoes. Furrowing his brows, Kenneth had rolled his eyes. He had leaned over to grasp the pair within his free hand, the other catering to the fact that Max had demanded he bring the book he received with them. Ever since he had opened the article, it never seemed to leave his precense. Wherever Max went, that book went, and if Kenneth were about, he was the one carrying it like a walking back-pack. Quietly, he had shifted the items before giving Kat a greeting of his own, smiling sheepishly before taking a few brisk steps to hunt down the small otter he knew was lurking somewhere within the room.

Ala wandered into the room ahead of her dragon, who was eagerly pushing at the girl to move faster. This was a party, which meant he would get to actually TALK! The brass dragon was excited and couldn't wait to find his first victim. As she entered, Ala realized just how much D-corp had grown lately. There were several kids she didn't recognize around, especially several little ones.

There was a few she knew from classes, like the one struggling to keep his dragon under control it seemed. And she thought one or two of the others might've been in a class with her. The girl sighed and wandered over towards the refreshments to get some punch.

Bob was delighted to see a crowd already and eyed them to see who he would talk to first. The other dragons didn't seem to interest him much, so he headed towards a grouping of small children. They would love to hear his stories, right?

"Hello, lil' ones." The brass greeted Aus, Sascha, and Canti. "Would you like to hear a story?"

Peri wandered down the hallway behind his boy and Kalseru. The note hadn't said much of anything about parents and so he was wondering if he could slip off and maybe find one of the mothers while the kids were preoccupied.

Nibal entered the room with a grin upon his face, which fell a bit as he saw the number of people already present. The boy searched around the room for a while before his eyes fell upon the plate of cookies upon the table. But it was all the way across the room... With a sly grin, Nibal flicked his tongue out to snag a cookie, then started to munch on it happily.

"Nibal!" Peri scolded, having come in the room to see his son's stunt. "Manners." He reminded the frog kid, who frowned around a mouthful of cookie at his parent.

Nibal managed to swallow the cookie. "P'las!" He whined softly. "No one else's parents are here..." Which in preteen meant: "Go away!".

The man shrugged. "Just... behave." With that, he left.

Kal grinned up at her boy. "Nice trick!" She commented before her eyes fell upon a familiar dragon. "Baroness!" The green happily called and ran across the room recklessly, not bothering to attempt to dodge anyone in her way.

"Kal!!" Nibal ran after his dragon, apologizing to anyone run over by the enthusaistic green.

Ligeia gave a smile when Anoki greeted him back and he made his way over to the Ibex boy though remaining cautious of the dragon. He didn't know the Red and didn't know his temperament. If the fact that Anoki had to grab hold of his collar was any indication he might be a bit like Baroness in the department of friendliness.

The owl was excited and pleased to see that the other boy was wearing the necklace that he had given to him during the Secret Santa game, "How have you been Anoki? Its been a while."

Vorel eyed the table that was covered in various treats in a hungry manner but when his boy moved over towards his friend he followed. There would be plenty of time for treats later he thought to himself then moved to sit down next to Ligeia while looking around the room. Getting more and more crowded by the second and there were now more people that he knew showing up which had the Frost's tail wagging.

"Ahh, finally." Ter said when some girls showed up. For a while there he was starting to fear that only guys were going to show up. what a drag that would have been. He gave a greeting to those that ventured close to the snack table that he had stood next to, snagging up various treats to munch on.

He nearly fell over laughing when Nibal's tongue snapped over to the table to grab up a cookie, "Nice!" He called over to the frog despite the fact that he could tell the man with him wasn't as amused as Ter was by the trick.

Baroness perked up hearing a familiar and well liked voice calling out her name. She lifted her head from the cookies she was munching on to look in the direction the green was approaching from, "Kal!" She called back, starting towards her with a sharp toothed smile. Awesome, with her friend here things were bound to get interesting!

Valens blinked a couple times when the world around him went dark as his eyes were covered by hands. He then gave a bright smile as he heard the voice behind, "Alora is that you?" He said, knowing the voice of the pretty bird anywhere. The horse peeked out from under her hands to give her a bright smile, "How have you been?" He asked. It had been a while since they had last crossed paths and he was pretty happy to see her again.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed someone waving at them and he turned his head to look in that direction, "Oh, awesome! Taren is here too." It had been even longer since he'd seen the fun boy that he'd played hide and seek with! Valen's tail set to swishing back and forth in delight as he waved back.

Ellie gave a smile when her boy found himself some friends to play with, now if only she could find someone to talk with among the dragons. For a moment she had thought that she found Hinder but it ended up being another green instead, to bad she thought to herself before continuing to scan the room and saw something rather interesting. A Brass? She looked at Valens, "Be right back." She said, unsure if he'd heard her before she made her way towards her fellow Metallic dragon.
