It had sounded like a good idea at the time, that he could be visit the nature trails, could get some good exercise away from home and see everything that was blooming. It was a good idea while he was following the signs that were along the trails and the good idea became a bad one when something interesting caught his eye and he followed after it off the trail. Now here he was an hour or two... or was it three later. He didn't seem nearly as upset about being lost as his dragon was. He had the thought process of: I will get home eventually.

He lifted a hand up to push his many braids back as he looked up at the trees, debating. These would be a lot of fun to climb up he thought to himself, he paused at the bottom of one of them.

While he enjoyed the 'walk' Ellie was looking back and forth frantically, trying to find something familiar, a sign that could point them in the right direction, or even smell something that might get them out of these woods. The trees were all looking the same though, the scents swirling around her were a bit confusing as it was the scent of plants and trees. Then on top of that was the fact that Valens had yet to even try to back track or to call for help. Instead he was just tromping on ahead, the same smile on his face that he always had. He didn't even look worried.

"Valens..." She murmured, reaching out to catch hold of the back of his shirt and tugged at it.

Valens looked back at her, tilting his head to the side, "Hrm? What's wrong? Not enjoying the woods?" He asked of her.

The Silver could only stare at him dumbly, mouth dropping open. When she did so his shirt came free and he hopped up to catch hold of one of the branches, hanging off of it.

"Red, you know if you eat it all now you're gonna be sorry later." Damaris said with a short laugh as her dragon was already begining to scarf down the food she had brought for him. She was sure to have packed their food seperately, if she had put it together he would have no problem eating hers, he already ate three times as much as her as it was.

The girl was sitting on a tree stump that gave a view of the parks little pond. There was a larger lake, that was by the trail, that's where everyone went but not many people knew about this little pond.

It was secluded and teeming with wild life. Damaris would have much prefered bringing out her paints, however she couldn't carry all of her equiptment so she had to settle for her colored pencils and a sketch book. She seemed somewhat restless, flipping back and forth through pages, adding this here, that there.

Red had no interest what so ever in what Damaris was doing at the moment. He had a bounty of food and A.J. wasn't around to complain about how much he ate and how much it cost him. The dragon completely ignored Damaris' warning of being sorry later and busied himself by devouring the countents of the basket they brought.

Valens had to scrammble at the begining of the climb to get to the first branch which was always hard on both him and the trees that he climbed because he had hooves instead of feet. Once up on the first branch the rest of the climb wasn't to bad, just straight up through the winding maze of branches to the tip top of the tree. From up he he could see everything in the world! Or at least as far as the horizon.

He looked back and forth, seeing what interesting things he could spot. Trees, trees, trees, water, trees, blue dragon, trees, trees... wait... his gaze went back to where the dragon was, sitting and he narrowed his eyes to try to get a better look. The angel wasn't very good and the distance was a ways off but there was a dragon! Problem was he had no idea how big the dragon would be close up.

"HEY ELLIE! I SEE A DRAGON!" He yelled down to his Silver on the top of his lungs.

The Silver wondered for a moment if he were referring to her as he started to make his way down the tree. He was doing well for the most part, able to keep his balance. She was almost sure that he was going to make it the whole way, no doubt would have if he didn't end up in a hurry by the end. He let go at the bottom and allowed himself to fall the rest of the distance to the ground. He landed in a heap but was instantly on his feet again, brushing off then pointed, "Its that way! Lets go!" He quickly started off towards the direction the blue was in. He wondered if it were one of the ones that had abandon D-Corp a while back, maybe he could talk it into returning?

He had no clue if it were possible but was ready to try at least.

And poor Ellie was stuck following after him hoping to keep him from being devoured by whatever dragon he'd spotted.

Red seemed to notice the sounds of some one aproaching. The dragon momentarily turned his attention away from his feast. It was not long before he decided that the food in front of his was more important than telling Damaris about the aproaching company.

Damaris was laying on her back on the stump. Her head was tilted backwards as she gazed out at the serene pond. Her sketchbook and a pencil stretched out in front of her as she consumed herself in the scenery. She was oblivious to everything else around her.

Valens was sneaking about as well as Valens could given his size. He had thought that it would be best to approach the dragon in a cautious manner just in case it were one that had left D-Corp. If it were there was a chance the dragon might still be in a bad mood. The closer he got though the more he started to debate on whether or not it could be one of those dragons, it seemed kind of small, "He's closer to your size then the size of an adult." He told his dragon.

Ellie's eyes went wide and her steps slowed a bit when she finally caught sight of the dragon they were sneaking up on. A Chromatic? She felt her heart skip a beat but she tried to push passed her innate fear of the Chromatics. There were good ones among them just look at Hinder after all.

The Silver sniffed at the air, relaxing a little when she realized the dragon wasn't alone. There was someone with him, "A girl." She murmured, reaching to catch hold of and tug on Valens' hand to get his attention.

"Huh? Really?" He trudged along forward, closer to where the Blue was and finally he was able to spot the girl where she was drawing. Ooooo, an artist! He'd wanted to meet one of them ever since he'd talked with Z about her artist friend he thought to himself before greeting the girl and dragon both a cheerful and loud, "Hello!"

Red paid no mind to the horse boy and his obnoxiously loud greeting. He gave the silver dragon a quick glance, finding no interest in her he went back to gorging himself. The dragon didn't seem to care about the arival of the two of them. Neither were marveling at his radiance so they were of no interest to him.

Damaris on the other hand was completely taken off gaurd by the arival of the new comers. She quickly lost her balance and her sketch book went flying out of her hands and landed next to the stump as she tumbled off of it. She slipped down the slight incline and into the bank of the pond with a "Eeep!" sound.

Valens's eyes went huge before he rushed forward towards where the girl had gone tumbling down, "Ah! Are you alright!" He cried, his tone carrying a lot of worry. He hoped that she was alright, that he'd not startled her and caused her to get hurt.

Ellie shook her head, sitting down and watched as her boy when he went rushing forward, "Valens..." She groaned. This wasn't how one was supposed to make friends, giving them injuries with their greetings.

Damaris spit and spattered in an atempt to get the foul tasting pond water out of her mouth. Once she regained her barings she got back up onto her feet and stomped out of the pond.

"What do you think you're doing!? Coming out of no where and shouting, causing a racket!" Damaris hollared as her temper flared. She had been completely caught off guard. Something that very rarely happened so she was quick to take the defensive. She didn't appear hurt and she didn't seem to mind about being soaked so much as she minded not noticing some one aproach them.

Red looked up from his food as he watched Damaris tumble into the pond and then shoot back up and go off on the boy. Once he realized she was fine he resumed his apathetic stance towards the new comers.

Valens scrambled backwards, ears turning forward and his eyes widened in surprise. Now this he wasn't expecting... well he should have expected it given that he had startled her so much that she had fallen into the pond but at the same times weren't girls supposed to be the more gentle sex?

"Sorry! Sorry, sorry! I didn't think that... just didn't think." He said, lifting a hand up to scratch at the back of his head. The gears in his head were grinding to figure out a way to make it up to her.

"Umm... Ah! I know!" He quickly pulled off his shirt and offered it to the damp, angry girl. It was a bit beaten up, grass stained, and had a couple leaves clinging to it from his time up the tree but at the same time it was dry, "Here, you can dry off with my shirt." He could only hope that his offering would placate her and it wouldn't end with her throwing him in the pond.

Damaris sighed a bit and took a moment to calm herself down. She indeed had a temper as she just displayed. However under normal circumstances it was hard to provoke so she'd rarely be seen like that. "...Thanks." She said taking the rag of a shirt and picking off the few leafs before untying her hair.

Her clothes wouldn't benefit too much from the shirt but she couldn't stand her hair being wet so she took the opportunity to dry it. She tried to wring out her tank top and shorts as best she could, at least she wasn't wearing one of her dresses today.

She went over and sat on the big old oak stump as she continued to dry her hair. She looked back up at Valens who looked a little startled at her outburst. "Sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you like that." She said now that her temper was quelled.

Valens gave a bright smile when she took the shirt, taking it as a good sign. He shifted on his hooves, "I didn't mean to scare you, was just excited to find someone is all." He wouldn't admit that he was relieved as well, finding someone meant that he would in fact get out of the woods sometime today so long as he followed her out. If she allowed him that was, "I didn't think before I spoke loudly."

Ellie laid down, eyes turning to look over at the Blue dragon who seemed to be quite uninterested in her and Valens. She wondered if she should be happy about that, it didn't give her anyone to talk to but... given he was a Chromatic and thusly he could be a bit dangerous if provoked this could be best. Having the blue instead be uncaring was preferable to him attacking, she didn't have any desire to fight.

"It's alright." Damaris said still drying her hair over one shoulder with he head tilted so she could reach as much of it as possible. "I wasn't expecting to see anyone around here. So I guess I just got startled a little is all." She admitted, "So what are you doing around here anyhow? I didn't know anyone else knew about this little pond." Damaris stated now interested in just what this boy was doing here.

She caught sight of the silver dragon out of her peripheral vision. She turned her head for a moment to greet the dragon with a smile and a little smile. She really quite liked dragons, she hadn't seen a silver one yet, so she was rather interested.

She turned her attention back to Valens, "You can come sit down if you'd like." She offered moving over a little bit, the oak stump was huge, the tree had probably fallen many years ago and was now laying at the bottom of the pond. She knew she had a temper and she was a little embaressed when it got the better of her without a legitimate reason.

Valens gave a bit of a cbuckle as he moved to sit down on the tree trunk, "I just thought that it would be fun to go on a nature walk but I didn't know about the pond actually." He looked back and forth, "Everything... sort of looks the same to me in this place." That was as close as he wanted to admit to her that he had gotten himself horribly lost.

Ellie gave a smile to the girl, "Hello." She greeted her, before she opened her wings wide, tilting them so that she could sun them.

"Her name is Ellie." He told Damaris, "And mine is Valens Sammael-Black." It was strange having two names but his parents couldn't decide on which of their last names he would take so he ended up with them both.

Damaris furrowed her brows, "This is pretty far off of the trail for normal 'nature walk'," She stated. The girl still wasn't exactly being the bubbly sparky girl she usually was. She was still slightly miffed that she had gotten to take an early bath but she knew the boy didn't mean it, so she tried to brush it aside.

When Ellie spoke up Damaris' eyes went wide, "She can speak already?" She asked surprised, "That's amazing." She said her lips curling into a smile. She hadn't yet met a dragon that was able to speak English so it was rather Fascinating to her.

"I'm Damaris Draque-Javier," She responded also having two last names. The first she kept from her previous family, the last was that of her fathers, or at least the man she had come to see as her father by now. "That's Red." She stated casually pointing her thumb backwards at the dragon that seemed to be paying them no mind, "He can't speak English yet, and he isn't terribley social, but he loves to eat, and dig." She said with a shrug.

Valens flushed a little bit, red showing the most brightly on the white colored part of his face, "Well... there was something off the trail that looked cool so I followed it." He said, looking down at his hands in embarrassment, "Then... erm... I wasn't sure where the trail was anymore so I just kept walking." In arbitrary directions even. Going straight might have gotten him somewhere faster but his attention span didn't allow for something as boring as walking a straight line.

His dark eyes turned to look over at Ellie before nodding, "A little bit. She can do greetings, say her farewells, my names, and a lot of 'Valens don't do that' 'Valens wrong way' or 'Valens are you alright'." She'd been learning English so she could better keep him in line.

The horse boy seemed to be quite delighted to find someone like him that had more then one last name, "Its nice to meet you... well aside from the scaring you part." He said, scratching the back of his head.
