Tyven was in the zone, now. Her fists pummeled the punching bag, blurring. Another combo later and her foot slammed into the black canvas, sending yet another flying off its hook and into the wall. The noise was an accepted one in the gym now, and the seams on the bag were ripped slightly. Jem payed them plenty of money in membership fees to overlook such things.
Only slightly damp from exertion, the tall girl grabbed a towel and her water bottle from her gym back, taking a long swallow as she debated what exercise to work on next. She was dressed as always, chest wrappings shorts, and wraps on her feet and hands.
If Jems bribery wasn't enough, the prospect of a pissed off hyper mother and her towering, glaring female companion was a rather frightening one in itself. Cleo actually didn't attend the gym as often as Tyven did - she had her own regime at home and Shilling always got whiny when she left him behind.
As it was, she was just bouncing in now, a bright yellow side-bag hanging from her shoulder (it was decorated in daisies), yellow sneakers, a little fitted white top and a pair of yellow spandex, knee-length shorts. It was her work out clothes! Her hair was even tied back in a pony tail! But, when she saw Tyven drinking water all alone and and and... She faltered, step and humming stopping.
Crap. So there she stood, eyes wide and entire boy frozen.
Tyven didn't notice her sister immediately, instead she wiped her face off then slung the towel around her shoulders. Stretching her long arms above her head, she yawned, revealing fangs. It wasn't until she headed over to refil her bottle at a nearby fountain that she was close enough to... scent her. Tyvem's snake-like tongue flicked out briefly, and she stilled slightly. Predatory lavender eyes slid across the room until they locked on the small bird. Cleo. Her mouth briefly formed an 'o' before settling into a firm line. Should she acknowledge her...? Yes. A nod to the girl she cared for so much.
That was all? Cleo was proud of herself in the fact that she didn't automatically wilt at her sisters face and then a small nod and.. Damnit. if Tyven was going to hate her anyway, she might as well go for it all. Screw the hyper stupidness. She walked over, all the bounce from her step gone. Cleo reached out to grab at Tyvens wrist. "I told you that you wouldn't like me if you knew."
Tyven let herself be captured, and stared at the hand on her wrist, rather than at the girl doing the holding. Her brow creased slightly. They were unobserved. "If I knew?" As far as she knew, the rift between them had come because Tyven had feelings for Cleo, and was avoiding physical contact, for fear she'd take it too far.
"I told you." She insisted, small fingers tightening up against the bones of her sisters wrist. It wasn't a rough grip but, well. Cleo wasn't very strong anyway. "You always got upset because I wouldn't tell you something and when I - If you. You stopped liking me."
Stopped liking her? Tyven's pupil's widened dangerous and she lifted her wrist, strength easily pulling Cleo closer. Her voice was low, almost a threat, if one didn't know her. "No, that is not true." Her pale face was near-expressionless, other than those dark eyebrows, and those snake-like eyes. "Tell me. Again."
"You stopped liking me." Even as she was pulled close, a scant bit away from the taller little sister, but she had never been afraid of the dangerous girl before. Tyven might not like her, but she would never, ever hurt her. "You didn't like me anyway but.. but then I yelled and you walked away. And didn't come back."
Tyven didn't say anything for a moment. Glancing around briefly, she used Cleo's grip to pull the girl out of the main area, and into the private girl's bathroom. Clicking the lock, she turned back to Cleo, a slight frown on her face. A small amount of confusion. "I love you."
Cleo squeaked as she was pulled away, stumbling just for a moment. Her other hand was clutching at her bag as Tyven - locked them in the bathroom? What? Her eyebrows furrowed and eyes darted towards the lock. "Why - " The declaration of love was met with some blinking, her own lips pulling into mild frown. "You stopped talking to me."
"You stopped talking to me." The mimiced phrased came along with a raised eyebrow. Tyven frowned to see Cleo look at the lock. Was the bird scared to be in here, alone with the snake?
"No. You avoided me and I got mad. And then you stopped talking to me. The minute I stopped acting like a braindead cheerful little twit, you left and stopped talking to me." Granted, Cleo always genuinely wanted to be that person for Tyven. She hadn't faked it around the snake but even that didn't mean that she didn't have that dark side in her. She just.. never wanted Tyven to see it. For this reason.
"Cleo..." Tyven wasn;t a talker. Freeing her wrist, she let her wrapped palms slide up Cleo's arms, to grip her shoulders. "I..." Her eyes closed. "I'd never hate you.... dislike you... I... love you." More than she should. That was the entire problem.
Cleo let her. The exact depths of her sisters meaning was lost on her as Cleo, while manipulative and clever, was still rather young in the thoughts of romance. She knew what sex was, and why Simons friends would snicker at her until she smashed their fingers, but the things bhind it - what her mam felt for Jem - was lost. So Tyven just received a brilliantly happy smile and Cleo lurched forewards to grab her sister in a rough hug. "Really?"
Oh, god. Tyven nodded, jaw clenched tight as one hand naturally went to Cleo's lower-back, and the other to her hair. "Mmmhmm." Silly early sexual-maturity.
Cleo was clutching at her, fingers twisting against Tyvens back as there wasn't much to grab a hold off. She pressed her face into her sisters collarbone, where Tyvens skin was quickly growing damp and hot. Her wings flexed, tightened against her back, ad Cleo just held her tighter. "Don't do that again." She said. " I try to be perfect for you but.. but sometimes I mess up. So don't leave again."
"You are perfect for me." Tyven's sigh was breathy. It'd been a long time since they'd touched. "You don't understand, Cleo. It's me that messed up." Kept messing up.
"You didnt mess up." She shook her head, arms tightening once more. "I yelled. What else is there to understand?" Cleo wanted to keep apologizing. Somehow, she doubted Tyven would let her.
She didn't.

Journal,
Things have been progressing at a somewhat normal pace. Cleo and Tyven have made up, apparently, as I actually see them in each others company. Cleo seems much happier, as does Tyven for that matter. I'm worried, sometimes, especially after Tyven and I had that discussion. It probably isn't very healthy for her to be around Cleo so much with those repressed feelings.
Cleo ha no idea. At least, I don't think she does. She never really lets on. Either she's really that innocent or she is a very, very good actress. Tyven treats her the same way I treat Jem sometimes. Maybe she just doesn't see the resemblance.
Jem has been even busier lately. Apparently the redheaded girl we met - Caly? - has popped out some spawn and needs someone to hang out with. Or.. something. All I know is it means that I am now in the possession of Tammuz's phone number. Jem says 'just in case'. Like that helps the worry in any way, shape, or form.
Still, things are going alright. The kids aren't going insane anymore, and are getting out. Jem and I are still very good.
Shilling is getting bigger. Tyven's getting taller. Cleo is getting... rounder. Not in a 'sweet jesus, she's fat', but...
She's growing up.
Damnit.
