This was another new child, one he had never taught before, though he knew there was no possible way for him to know all the children in the facility. Still though he was finding there was a lot of students who required teaching. He had left his daughter at home again, she was getting use to him being away all the time. ANd after the last incident when he had brought her along to one of his other students classes he wasn't going to repeat that mess. Adjusting the matts he wore his gi uniform and then sat down crosslegged onto the blue things. He was a patient man, he would relax a moment before his student arrived.

Cleo! Was in her work out clothes. Tyven always liked them, Rapier never said anything, so she wore them and was pleased with them. Bright orange short shorts, with a yellow t-shirt, a purple striped sock, and a cow-patterened sock, both of them thigh high, and a pair of comfie, comfie athletic shoes.
She loved her wardrobe.
Her newly cut hair was loose about her ears as she hopped inside the classroom, Shilling close to her heels.
"Hello!" The goldcrest chirruped, bright eyes on the teacher and a smile on her face. "Mam says I have a class here today. I'm Cleo Kuseth?"

Kuyoja turned to face his student though he went to stand up to properly address her. Walking over to her he studied her and her dragon a moment before offering Shilling a rather formal bow, before returning his attention to his student.
"I am Kuyoja Tsuzuki. You may call me Mr. Tsuzuki." He replied his face looking serious as it normally did. "Welcome to your class Miss. Kuseth, today we will be learning about defensive stances and tactics, unles of course you have something else in mind?" He offered the girl to choose, what learning plan he had set out or something of her choice.

Shilling preened at being recognized as awesome, and Cleo smilled rather brightly.
"Mam taught me a li'l bit of knife fighting and offensive movements," She said cheerfully. Cleo was being modest (or at least cute about it?), as Rapier and Dagger had been fighters, a slave trader and mercenary, respectively, and had taught her daughter enough that Cleo was unafraid of going out at night by herself, even if Shilling wasn't there to help her, "But defensive would be good! She always said the best offensive is a good defense, but she doesn't know much about those."

Kuyoja nodded his head as he observed her, she certainly didn't look frail and even experienced in the field of fighting.
"Being experienced in offensive techniques can work as a good defense. If the person you are up against doesn't know how to get through your moves then it is an excellent defense." He began before he moved to offer her a mat to stand on.
"We can practice pivoting and arm blocks if you wish." He offered before looking at her, "Or have you worked on those already?"

"Not arm blocks, not yet. Mam liked to concentrate more on weapons. I'm good with those." Cleo smiled, little dimples popping up on her cheeks. The little goldcrest toed off her shoes, giving a little wriggle.
"Can we do that? I wanna try those! Being punched in the nose 'cause I can't block would be bad, dontcha think? It's how I got this!" Cleo pointed to her cheek and nose. A small, light colored scar ran in a thin streak from the base of her ear and across her nose. " 'Tessa scratched me. If I knew how to block, I coulda, and then I wouldn't be all. Marked up. Right?"

He nodded his head after he observed the marks she pointed out. She was a touch girl not afriad to get hurt, and he enjoyed working with students who were willing to get a bit hurt in a lesson.
"Good," he started as he moved across from her and then setteled into a ready stance. "Using your arms to block are the easiet ways to shrug up direct blows and hits." He mentioned as he brought his arms up and close to his body.
"you want to keep your arms close to your chest but not tightly, this gives you the greatest control and access to blocking points for your head chest and arms. As well a few points on your thighs." He mentioned as he nodded her head indicating he wanted her to mimick him.

"I'd rather them hurt my arms than my face. With my arms hurt, I can still head butt or kick! Not really if they hurt m'brain." Cleo giggled, stretched her arms up to the ceiling for a full body pull. She wasn't born limber, after all, not at all. When Kuyoja fell back, though, she moved with him, to the 'ready' stance.
Rapier had done it often, taught Cleo a bit, so this position was nothing new. Her face was still alight with curiousity, fingers flexing just briefly before she followed him. Arms and legs moved as the teacher did, eyes flickering up and down from her and him, just to make sure.
"Like this?"

Kuyoja relaxed his position as he then turned to face his student. He observed her stance, it was...fairly well planned and laid out. He only moved to slightly nudge her limbs a bit into the 'just right' position though he didn't really have all that to fix.
"You seem to be a nattural." He commented though he didn't sound like he was admiring her for it.
He then moved to stand directely across from her and setteled back into his own position.
"I will be moving slowly." He commented as he indicated he was going to strike out at her. "When my hand comes to you I want you to try and deflect it, do not try and stop it...you can do more harm than good." he added as he then moved a hand slowly towards her...an easy catch if she was to try and catch his fist.

"Mam says that too. I train with my Tyvvie sometimes, she shows me things." Cleo paused, considered her next words. "She doesn't talk about you, even though you're a teacher. It means she likes you."
Mam also said Cleo was crazy. She'd heard her mutter it once. It didn't bother Cleo any - she knew that much about herself. People liked her mask. Not her.
So she smiled, quite cheerfully. Kuyoja moved, she watche him, and her own hand went up. Mam and Tyven taught her well. Instead of reaching for his actual hand, in which he could bend his elbow, spin, catch her in the face with aforementioned elbow, she went for the inside of his arm. Hand flat, with what hand-eye coordination she had, she aimed for just in front of his elbow, putting her weight behind the movement.

Kuyoja didn't blink at the sudden revelation of knowledge that Tyven liked him. He was glad that she didn't dislike him..it made teaching classes with her a lot easier.
"Tyven is a very focused student." He replied, if one could call that praise.
As he watched the girl respond to his movements she allowed her to block the mock hit. This class was suppose to help teach and build confidence he didn't want to have his students too discouraged.
But he knew that Cleo wasn't a novice much like Tyven hadn't been a novice. He could tell by the way she moved, despite her cheerful disposition there was something more beyond that.
Retreating an arm he then struck out at her again, faster this time.

"Tyven is the best," said Cleo instead of recognizing the praise as such. Her wings fluffed up in pride of the discussion of her sister; Tyven had always been her very favorite of subjects. She hopped from toe to toe, much too graceful in her hyper plight.
The goldcrest squeaked and ducked, her hand lashing up at his. The movement left her less than elegant, tripping over her own feet and stumbling back in a most unfortunate manner. She managed to deflect, however weakly. It ended with her nearly falling, all but scowling adorably.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! It was instinct, I hadda duck! Don't tell Tyvvie, I shouldn't have ducked," She clapped her hands over her mouth, eyes wide. "Can we do that again? We can pretend! Please?"

Kuyoja could tell by the way she had reacted that though she wasn't a novice she definantley wasn't at the same skill level as Tyven, though he doubted very much that there were many students who were.
SHe had managed to weakly block him, though if he had pressed forward with his attack she would of been at a great disadvantage. He stepped back lowering his arms and nodded his head at her request.
"It is instinct to try and avoid pain, its not a bad thing you just need to ..focus a bit more to stop yourself from doing what is natural. " He stated as he then fell back into the ready position and once she was ready he nodded his head to announce his attack.
He then struck out, about the same speed as last time his hand coming towards Cleo.

Cleos eyes narrowed, sharpened when Kuyoja agreed to 'repeat' their previous movement. She hopped back a moment, bouncing from heel to toe, one foot to the other, a constant ball of movement. Focus on not being herself, not being natural. She could do that. Easily.
His arm went out, fist, and hers shot up in retaliation. Cleo threw her arm up, horizontal, and for the briefest of seconds she let his hand touch hers. Then she jerked up, deflecting him to the side.
Had she been with Tyven, she would have shoved in with her left hand and punched him in the side.
As it wasn't with Tyven, she spun to the left, a flare of yellow and black feathers.
"--Yeah?"

Kuyoja was impressed and he nodded his head and waved his student to come back.
"Much better," He stated with a nod of his head, he could see she had practiced something similar before. He found it interesting that she even went a step further and removed herself from his reach.
"Well shall do this faster even." He instructed as he awaited for her to come back and arrange herself in front of him before his eyes narrowed slightly , shifting the weight from his foot he sprang forward his hand coming out though he was using just his palm as using a fist if he managed to get past her block he didn't wish to physically hurt his student.
