Illyria, Guardian Cat (( 4 + ? ))

There were other Mauvians here. Illyria nearly wriggled with excitement at the chance to converse with others that were like herself. However there was one such energy signature that really puzzled the young cat. It was Mauvian - but it wasn't? The allure of figuring out this mystery was tempting but so was just trying to figure a way out of whatever mess she'd managed to land herself in.

With due caution to avoid being stepped on by others Illyria sniffed at the air around her before letting out a low hiss. Her fur, which had been mostly flat, now stood on end. Something had brushed by her and it had no illumination to mark it's passing. Her low hiss continued as she swiped at the air in front of her with her small, dainty paws before arching her back. Her voice, tiny as it was, sounded a warning to any around that were close enough to hear. "We've got company!"

Darting around feet the young cat began to move erratically. At least the glow of individuals alike were making it easier to see but now it seemed another threat was focused on the group.

Quote:
One order Mauvian still open for interaction. Trying to sound the warning and not get squished

If you roll between a 4-7 you find yourself able to maneuver with some ease, though more than once you bump into something. It has to be alive; it squirms when you hit it. You can feel muscle, maybe a thin coat of fur. Sometimes, you can feel it breathe on the back of your neck--icy cold. It's distracting but not the end of the world.

Sailor Adorea, Senshi of Optimism - (Roll History: 7)

She heard the cat first... Illyria had called out from the depths to warn others that there was something in there with them, and then she had seen Mia enter her line of side. Nursing what now seemed to be a headache from whatever had assaulted her, she was about as well humoured as one could expect in the given circumstances. She was lose enough for Adorea to make her out in the midst of the inky void and the senshi afforded a wry smile at the coffee remark.

"Pretty sure, there are a fair number of things that this day could have started with that didn't really include this," she pointed out smoothly and took a number of steps towards Mia. She bumped into something now and then, unseen as always but decidedly less lethal than slamming her shins into a rock for the third time. All in all she managed to make a reasonable amount of progress until she finally felt that company that Illyria and now Mia had referenced.

That ice cold breath, that peculiar fur, something was very close and yet she had the good fortune to have dodged its meddling for now.

It was as she was taking her last few steps forward that she arched a brow and turned her head to the left just a touch - now there was a voice that she happened to recognise from a number of months ago, she was fairly certain that she'd met the owner before.

"Is that you Ananke?" she called out curiously and then took a breath, finally placing a hand against Mia's shoulder as she closed the distance.

If Ananke was there then perhaps she would return with confirmation, but for now Adorea set about confirming that Mia was real by unceremoniously patting her face. Lips, cheeks, eyebrows...at this particular moment in time personal space didn't necessarily seem to be on the cards. Nevertheless the injury that she had sustained was probably something Adorea could help with, in fact, wasn't she made for this?

"Oh wait, I can fix that," She seemed particularly happy and released the poor civilian from her grasp. "Well I think I can anyway, I think that's how it's supposed to work anyway," she mused and regarded the woman more closely. "Well it might work, won't know until I try but it's worth a shot?" she offered.

Lieutenant Rakovanite
10

'We will go together,' Rakovanite had said, lacing his fingers through December's as they stood in the living room of his apartment. Even as undaunted as someone like Nataniel typically was, that didn't make him completely oblivious to the oddities that plagued Destiny City during the night, of late. He had little to base it off, but purely from what he did know, Rakovanite assumed the shadows that sporadically swallowed people or took on the voices and mannerisms of others were not a usual occurrence, noticeable now only because he could power up.

And so they had gone together, Rakovanite's first experience in patrolling alongside the younger man, though for what, he was still uncertain.

It mattered little, in the end. The oddities persisted as they had for the past week, more apparent, stronger and more lively than ever. Reasonably, they should not likely be out when there seemed to be almost nothing to gain. No energy signatures from the opposition. Only coiling and dancing shadows, snaking out to brush against them as though alive.

But why? And under what power, if not chaos itself? Perhaps that was why they were out. It was intriguing enough to explore. And then, as Rakovanite strode side by side with Fettelite, fingers still entwined, the 'brush' of shadows felt suddenly more like a grip, hard and clawing. In a sharp moment of confusion where they were lurched apart, his gaze whipped to the other man. "Decem-" No. Dammit. Before Rakovanite could even form the proper name on his lips, he was plunged into darkness, a black abyss that was almost suffocating in the vast nothing.

Why- Or how? He was no stranger to poor vision, but this was well beyond anything he was accustomed to. "Fettelite," his hiss was soft, wary as though frightened someone not his comrade might overhear him.

But there was no sound, and nothing to be seen, until a dim glow appeared in the distance, and when Rakovanite looked down at his hands, he found that he could see his fingers again, as well. Then it didn't matter what or who exactly was over there, did it? If it was all that was available to him, he had to reach it. The terrain somehow... resisted his advance, though. Nothing Rakovanite could see or touch, but it was obvious he should take caution with his movement, and it quickly occurred to him that it almost felt like something alive.

Whatever it was, he was able to evade for the most part, and reach the dim outline of, sure enough, his Fettelite. His curled fingers in the back of the other man's shirt and dragged him near, murmuring a quiet, "Are you uninjured?" Against the captain's ear.

Gryphon Tate
10

"Lan...?" Gryphon's bright orange irises flickered around in the darkness. It was weird. One second he was walking through the park with his boyfriend, surely about to get an earful for his teasing and... 'improper' (or something like that, he was sure) ways, and the next he was- Er. Well. Nowhere? This seemed like what someone would describe as nowhere. Empty and chilly and... oddly writhing.

But Landry had been with him just a blink ago. Where were they? How had this happened? Was Landry here too? Was this still the park?

Nothing he could answer on his own, though. "Hulloooo?" He called to the nothing. Gryphon should probably be worried, right? This wasn't really like anything else he'd experienced before... But it didn't feel like there was much to do about it besides wait for it to- Oh! Gryph blinked as a bit of the darkness started to ebb as dots of light appeared in this distance. Hey, he might not know much, but he knew a good sign when he saw one. And seeing anything in these shadows seemed like a good sign.

So he started moving toward it without hesitation. There was something like an invisible force along the way. Some inexplicable push of shadows that seemed as though they wanted to get in his way or stop him from moving, but when Gryphon Tate wanted something, he got it, and there just wasn't room to argue about it.

"Landry," he breathed a sigh of relief and grinned at the sight of the blond man. Without pausing as he moved toward him, Gryphon dipped, sweeping Landry's legs out from under him and lifting the smaller man up and away from the strangely moving shadows around them, bringing him up to plant a kiss to his cheek. "S'alright, Lan. You okay? I gotcha." Though from what exactly, he still didn't know. Couldn't see enough to tell. And the only sound was... some distant trumpet-y sounds. "You hear that weird music?"

Anxo DeLuna
Rolls: 10 + ?

Anxo seemed to, for some reason, be unafraid of what was going on around him. It was easy to do so when his mind was far too focuzed on finding his little brother.

Even more so now that he had the love of his life in his sights... Luckily for him, he was already powered up, so they had a strong ally on his side.

Even with the stumble here and there, all seemed well... Though there was a strange music playing nearby.

"... How strange... Athene, do you hear that?"

Going through this darkness? Nah, it was nothing for the most daring of all the DeLuna's! He hopped and skipped and jumped over the obstacles as he made his way to the light (and would forever deny tripping and face planting every now and then).

Something bumped into him Cold and fuzzy and... Geesh, it send a chill right down his spin.

But whatever! There were scarier things at Hillsworth than just this nonsense here! He was tough! The toughest of all the DeLuna's! He only trudged forward, hoping to eventually catch up to those speckles of light. Ninety percent of him still figured this was a dream, but even if that was the case, he wasn't gonna be scared off by this!

Roll total: 6

"Well, hm... That's a toughie to answer. I believe it is because there are just so many powerful people from all sides here. It's a challenge, a situation that we must all overcome in order to better ourselves. I'd say just consider it training. Very spooky training, but training nonetheless!" Despite how frightening everything seemed, and how those shadows shifted around, Brioche seemed cheerful.

It was when he saw something squirming in the dark that he hopped from Nia's arms, feeling himself bump into something quite Odd. It spooked him, just a tiny bit, but the world they lived in was quite spooky already. Nothing he couldn't manage.

"I'll be right here, Nia. You can see my fat ol' fluffy self right? Nothing to worry about!"

Landry Croix
Rolls: 8

He would have most certainly been lying if he said he wasn't afraid. Landry was a man of very few fears, but this darkness was very high up there.

But he remained determined, marching forward with purpose and poise. How could he knot, when he demanded that perfection from himself, even when no one else was around?

That didn't stop him from moving a little faster than he would care to admit. Even when his foot would catch on something, he righted himself with care and continued forward.

It wasn't until he heard someone speak to him that he paused, and turned to it. The scowl he held relaxed a little at the sight of someone he recognized, even if he wasn't particularly fond of her.

"Huh... So Lori's not with you... But yes, whatever happened it was clear that it just grabbed whatever it could reach." Now he had even more of a reason to keep his posture. He wasn't about to have someone as uncouth as this woman have any reason to look down on him. "If you are afraid, you may join me in my search to escape. Every place like this always has a way to get out, even if it's not the same as how we came in."

Landry stood up a little straighter, taking a confident step towards the other beams of light. As uncertain and as frightened as he was, he was still a p***k who wouldn't dare let anyone walk in front of him, even if that meant putting himself in more danger.

That is, until he heard a familiar voice call his name.

There was only a moment he had to turn and feel that relief in finding Gryphon safe, before he was scooped up like some precious thing and held close. Typically, Landry hated those displays of affection in public, but it was beyond dark, and having Gryphon at his side swept his cares away just enough that he could feel his eyes getting a little wet.

"I'm fine, I'm fine... I'm glad you are too, though I was certain you would be." Despite his words, it was clear that Landry was shaken, and put his arms around Gryphon for a tight squeeze. Even the kiss was permitted right now, nerves too shot to react negatively to anything. That was until he remembered Daphne was there, and his cheeks reddened darkly.

To try to break the awkwardness, he cleared his throat and patted Gryphon's arm.

"..Put me down, Gryphon. It's safer for me to move on my own, or we both might fall down." His voice dropped down softer, to a whisper. "... And this is embarassing, so Please."

Captain Fettelite
Rolls: 3 +

Fettelite knew that he wasn't someone who was designed to be left alone. Alone he acted foolishly, fear crept up on him so quickly that it was clear that he trembled while he slowly made his way forward. It gripped him so tightly that he refused to look in any direction other than straight ahead, thinking that any other glance would have something terrifying waiting for him.

It was in that state of fear that he found himself being whipped hard in the side, knocking the air out of him and sending him straight into the ground.

"Ow.. Ow..." No, he wouldn't cry here. Even if he was afraid, he was supposed to be a Captain now. Someone other people were supposed to look up to! Someone who was supposed to be brave and protect other people... Someone who picked themselves off the ground and picked up their weapon and continued onward, even with tears welling up in his eyes.

The brave act certainly didn't stop him from yelping when he felt the hand on the back of his shirt.

"Rakovanite!!" Relief couldn't begin to describe how Fettel felt, and his weapon was dismissed in favor of wrapping his arms around his Lieutenant and clinging to him for dear life.

"Something hit me! It knocked me down and I was scared and alone, but I'm so glad you're here! Are you okay? Did anything hurt you?" As panicked as he was, he kept his voice soft, whispering back as if any loud noise could trigger whatever it was that hit him to knock him down again.

"T-this isn't normal, I swear... This wasn't supposed to happen.."

Captain Aquamarine

Aquamarine continued to stumble through the darkness, making his way toward the closest source of light, only to turn off in another direction when his sixth sense began to scream “no, fool, that’s a ******** Senshi,” he spat.

Now that he was paying more attention to auras rather than his darkness-impaired vision, Aquamarine noted that there were far too many White Mooners present for his liking. Which was just typical, honestly. Dragged away by creepy hands, plunged into darkness, unable to see anything around him except for a few specs of glowing light, and those specs turned out to be the enemy. At least none of them seemed to know what was going on. It wasn’t helpful, but they couldn’t claim to have more knowledge than him, and that satisfied him somewhat.

So he picked through the sickening White Moon auras for the less offensive auras of his brethren and began wandering in some other random direction instead. He stopped bumping his toes or knocking his shins into unseen objects after a few moments of picking through the darkness, but that was when he began to notice other things around him. The sort of things that seemed to be alive. One bumped into his hip — a furry thing with noticeable muscle under its pelt. Aquamarine shoved at it but it was already squirming away.

He summoned his weapon, gripping tight to the hilt of his dagger, prepared to strike the next creature that drew too close, but he still couldn’t see anything, and the next one came at him from behind. Aquamarine stumbled again, and the creature was gone by the time he whirled around. Was it a different one? Or the same? How the ******** was he supposed to do anything about this when he couldn’t even locate them in the darkness?

Muttering a few more choice swears beneath his breath, Aquamarine quickened his pace. He passed more White Mooners, and a couple of powerless civilians who appeared to have been dragged here as well…

… wait a minute. Was ********>, you have got to be kidding me.”

It was dark, there were only the faintly lit people to rely on for any sort of light, but Aquamarine would recognize that unruly mop of curls anywhere.

He came to a stop in front of Ilian. Not Jet, who would have been helpful, who Aquamarine might have turned to for orders whether or not he intended to follow every single one of them. No, he got Ilian, who, considering they were one in the same, was just as reckless but far less likely to come out of his daring pursuits unscathed when he didn’t have a weapon.

“What are you doing?” Aquamarine hissed at him, lowering his voice and getting all up in Ilian’s face so no one else would hear. “You’re useless to me like this. Power up, dumbass. Do you have any idea where we are?”

Because Aquamarine sure as hell did not.

Sessrumnir, Knight of Jupiter

There was something out there. Even if he couldn’t see them he could feel the way the air shifted as the creatures moved around them. He couldn’t fault the senshi who introduced herself as Myrrha for not hearing him when they were pretty obviously being stalked and it was rather distracting.

“Sessrumnir,” he repeated, his voice warm despite the situation they’d found themselves in, taking her offered hand in a friendly shake of greeting. “Knight of Jupiter,” he decided to elaborate this time. Maybe knowing he was a Jupiter knight would make a difference. At least for those who knew overly friendly Valhalla, and would possibly associate all Jupiter knights with him.

Once they released hands, Sessrumnir summoned his weapon to his hands: a large, decorative storm glass with a long chain attached to it. He offered the chain end to Myrrha.

“If you want. So we’re not separated. Maybe teaming up will help us figure out where we are. It’s what Janeway would have suggested, right?” he added with a wink, trying to defuse some of the tension of being in a strange place with unknown creatures.

“Anyone else grouping together?” Sessrumnir called out to those glowing figures around them.

    Ilian Jones (aka General Jet)

Something bumped into him. Hard. Ilian cursed as he was shoved forward, knocking his shins into unknown objects, and hands scraped up against the ground. To make matters worse, while he was down, something stepped on the back of his leg. He was definitely going to have bruises after this.

But he was more frustrated that his slacks might have been ruined. He really didn’t want to have to buy a new pair, or even search through second hand clothes for a pair that fit.

Lucky(?) for him, a very familiar face managed to find him in the darkness as he was getting back to his feet.

“Aqua-“ he started only to be hissed at to power up. Ilian scrunched up his face in agitation as he brushed himself off. “You don’t think I tried?” he hissed back. He definitely didn’t want to be weaponless in this place. But it didn’t seem like he would have much luck.

“I have no idea where we are. Are they Youma? I can’t feel them,” he pointed out since he was obviously without the ability to sense auras at that moment.

Mauvian Liryn (human form)

You can feel muscle, maybe a thin coat of fur. Sometimes, you can feel it breathe on the back of your neck--icy cold. It's distracting but not the end of the world.

The darkness had initially seemed almost impenetrable, no visible shapes or anything by the way of landmarks - just a mass of uncompromising darkness - not that Liryn had planned to let any of that stop him, even if he had to pick a direction and do his best to try and press forwards–

Athene was out there somewhere after all - Liryn was certain of it - and he was going to find him.

A light had flickered into being before he could take any sort of step forwards however, pale and white, the light somehow coming from him–

There were other lights out there too, further away in the distance, purplish eyes taking in their flickers with a slight twitch of tabby ears.

He took a step forward, because maybe the lights were other people - maybe one such light was even Athene himself...

Either way heading in the direction of the lights seemed like a pretty good idea, since it wasn't as if he could do much if he stayed where he was.

It had soon been evident that he couldn't exactly just head in a straight line towards the nearest lights, a pair that seemed slightly closer than some of the others, due to obstacles here and there. Small little things such as sheets of something that seemed to wind around his legs if he walked in a particular direction - the 'sheets' and 'blocks' seemingly invisible since he hadn't been able to actually see them.

Not that it was stopping him from making progress, Liryn still pressing forwards–

And he wasn't the only thing pressing forwards, something seemingly darting in and out of the shadows that were ever present, hidden enough that he had almost missed it, only the way that it had momentarily blocked out one of the lights alerting him finally to its presence.

Liryn pressed forwards, because he was not about to let shadows stop him from doing so, although he'd found himself bumping into things from time to time - things that almost seemed to squirm as he did so - a sensation of fur against his skin before he pulled back.

The duo of lights seemed closer however. Not too far away from him.

Liryn continued walking.

Eternal Sailor Athene

Quote:
If you roll between 8-10 you manage to avoid all threat; you still have to stumble across the dark landscape but you manage to do so unhindered and unscathed. There's a strange clarity as you maneuver--you hear something odd, in the distance. It almost, almost sounds like...carnival music?

There had been nothing but the darkness, no structures, no shapes or visible landmarks - at least that he could see.

Athene had called out to Liryn, once and then again, but there had been no answer - just himself and an impenetrable darkness that had been impossible to see through - at least at first.

Eventually after a few moments a pale white light had appeared, other similar white lights flickering to life somewhere in the distance.

It had taken a good few moments more for Athene to realise that at least one of said lights was that of him himself, the glow enveloping him like some kind of candle–

And if...

One of said flickering white lights shifted before he could finish the thought, moving forwards, almost as if heading in his direction. No scratch that, it was heading in his direction.

Athene started to walk towards it, since it seemed better than just standing in place, although moving forwards turned out to be easier said than done as the darkness hid obstacles - small obstacles that were more annoyance than true hindrance given that they seemed to be invisible.

He blinked startled as the source of the light suddenly came into true view.

"Anxo...?" Because it was indeed his boyfriend standing in front of him. He wasn't able to get more than that out however, because the shadows had chosen that particular moment to start shifting - well at least they appeared to have started shifting–

And a loud stomping sound had suddenly started up, although it mercifully seemed to be somewhere off in the distance.

Anxo was asking him something, something about music and Athene turned to look up at his taller boyfriend, a slight frown on his face because music? Only to realise that yes there was some sort of music playing, almost like.. Like...

"Carnival music?"

Another blink and then he nodded at Anxo "Yes I hear music too," Athene bit his lip before adding quietly "Although I don't think we should stay here."

He continued "I was on my way to meet up with you, thought I could stop halfway or so and power down, but I got dragged here before I could do anything."

A brief pause and then he added "Liryn was with me too, at least before I got dragged here - wherever here is,"

And then as it occurred to him that Anxo might not know who he was talking about Athene added "Liryn is the mauvian that I live with, but I don't think that the two of you have had a chance to officially meet."
