Reese tried to glare at Trey again, vaguely aware of the sneering in response to his accusations which just confirmed in the wee hysterical part of his mind that this was absolutely a set up. A trap and he’d been stupid enough to fall for it. He should’ve just beamed Trey in the back of the head with a chunk of wood or something while he had the chance…
His mind was all over the place at this point. He was sweating more, and the entirety of his body ached to a point that was far beyond anything he’d ever really experienced. Oh sure, Reese had had his share of fights. Come home with a sprained limb and a black eye, even a nearly busted nose once. But he’d never had a moment where the whole of his body was just in burning pain. There was probably a reason poisoning was such a serious issue if you encountered it. He wanted to get up and walk for himself, at least then he was likely to be left somewhere to perish, but it was clear to whatever small rational there was in the back of his head, that he wasn’t getting anywhere on his own. This was more apparently as he practically sank into the mud. Ugh.
Reese didn’t try to fight the second round of help from Trey when the other teen tried to help him again. He wanted to; he wanted to ball a fist and punch the hipster trash in the face but instead allowed himself to be tugged up to be supported. He tried his best to steady himself but well… Trey would probably notice that he was carrying an extra case of dead weight in the process. Absently the punk glanced at the pokemon that had appeared, looking confused. There were more… how’d Trey have so many? Now he just felt confused. In fact, trying to think about it more raised some extra questions. Later. He could think about them later. When he wasn’t dying.
"W-where…," he tried to ask, giving Trey a shady side look. He didn’t trust him, even with if he was helping for some reason.

Trey was very much ignoring Reese. He didn't say a word. He could happily return to his content silence, though as he dragged him, trying not to show how much of a struggle it was, he did turn, quickly recalling his pokemon. He hoisted Reese up a bit more, and tried to quicken his pace and lengthen his stride, particularly as he heard angry chirping behind him. He was far from a body builder, he didn't even really work out much, so carrying someone nearly his size wasn't easy. Especially as he started feeling the faint tug of his own symptoms; fatigue, feeling warn down. Obviously, some of the poison had brushed into his system from the open wounds and his contact with the bird, but it wasn't nearly as severe or strong as the dosage Reese had gotten. He closed his eyes and opened them in slow, consistent, focused turns, monitoring his own breathing as he got them at least to the crowd. From there, he could get some help to the medical tent, and once they arrived, he was able to slough Reese off onto someone else, and dully explain the situation, before very quickly lapsing back into his own silence, and letting them treat him. They would have to rest up, of course, which meant being stuck in this tent with him, but at least, hopefully, he'd be unconscious. Maybe. Or perhaps he'd gripe through the whole treatment....
Trey, on the other hand, laid back once he was allowed to, and stared at the ceiling, looking tired. He was feeling the pain from their fight now, too, along with the effects of the poison. And he was hating, just a bit, that he had been forced to help this a*****e. Really testing how much he despised him, and giving a definitive answer that it just wasn't enough to let him die, which was in of itself annoying. At least there was some satisfaction in getting to see him get taken down a peg by the poison, seeing as he wasn't able to do it himself...

Reese didn’t miss that he was getting no answers from Trey and while he would’ve like to argue and struggle more at this point, he’d resigned himself to whatever fate was to befall him from putting his trust in the other teen. He could tell they were moving at that Trey seemed to be struggling too, which made him wonder if they’d both just be collapsing and dying shortly. Then there were other people helping (maybe?) more shuffling and finally movement from the fair itself and into a tent. So not a cliff edge or a bog like he expected. Huh.
Eventually he became aware of where he was’ a medical tent. Made more obvious by the nurse who’d taken up attempting to treat him. Reese wasn’t a good sick person and it showed; immediately fussing and fighting and trying to get them away in between fits of gagging and shivers. A healthy dose of antidote though was enough to calm him down and while he was still dubious about the whole thing, he relaxed to a sort of dull state of being. He kind of wanted to go to sleep but like… not yet.
When he could move his head without it being the most agonizing thing ever, he noticed that Trey was still there. He didn’t look too terrible, which wasn’t a surprise seeing as he didn’t take a poison dart to the neck, but still less than well.
Which Reese didn’t care about in the moment. He grunted and groped around for something to throw, finding a small empty bottle thing and chucked it at Trey to get his attention. He had a feeling he’d just be ignored if he spoke and so… well. He wasn’t going to accept that, dying or not. "H-hey… glitter b***h." It was kind of odd to speak, he felt a bit like he was drunk but it didn’t sound that way. Weird. He shook it off.

Trey had closed his eyes to rest, but sighed when he heard Reese stirring. He jerked, however, when something hit him, and snapped up, shooting a hard glare at the other and grabbing the empty bottle in his hand, looking about ready to throw it back, and aim for the head. He narrowed his eyes, relaxing from the reflexively violent response, and laid back down. He turned his crimson eyes back onto the ceiling, still looking annoyed, and for a moment, it seemed he was going to still ignore him. Ultimately, though, it seemed he decided it was better not to. "What?" How little he wanted to talk to Reese right now could not be put into words. Absolutely nothing the other could say, would possibly be worth responding to. Nothing was worth talking about. Nothing was interesting enough to listen to. He just wanted to get better and get back to his own things... Maybe Reese would be sick enough that he could get out ahead of him, and gain some distance to avoid running into him again.

Reese narrowed his eyes at Trey (less out of concern that the bottle might be chucked back at him, and more of a need to focus) and looked confused when the other opted not to throw the bottle back and instead returned to lying down. For a moment he thought the other was going to ignore and immediately he was looking for something else (probably heavier) to throw.
"What?"
Reese paused in his search to look back to Trey, honest surprise on his face in the moment. It took him a moment to recollect his thoughts, "You…," he started, looking equal parts conflicted as well as disgusted. He paused to rub at the mud that had caked itself so diligently to his jacket with an annoyed grimace. He’d like need to change or something. Of course this was just a distraction as he tried to find the best way to word the numerous questions that were swarming in his head.
"You…. Cause that s**t… on purpose," he went the easiest route. He still (forcefully) believed that Trey had pulled all that on purpose. "H-how’d you do it…?" Those really weren't questions he wanted to be asking to be honest, but he'd rip his tongue out first before asking exactly why Trey'd gone and helped him instead of leaving him there to rot. He wasn't dumb; he could sense the hate practically radiating off the other and he shared the same sentiment; and while he didn't seem the killing type, he wouldn't have batted an eye if Trey had left him there.

Trey's grip tightened on the bottle in his hand, and he turned his head slowly to give a flat, narrow-eyed stare at Reese at the accusation. He did not waver, or look away, for a very long time. Finally, he moved to stare back up at the ceiling again. "Yer a feckin' idiot," was his short, and incredibly annoyed answer. Seriously, did Reese think he would poison himself if he planned that? That he would try and warn him? That he would drag him back here and let him live if he'd intended for any of that to happen? The boy's brain was emptier than he'd thought... and that was saying something. He might not have wanted Reese dead, but he didn't exactly think highly of him, either, and the more he actually heard him speak, the lower his opinion of him got... He was starting to regret not just waiting until the toxins had knocked him out or something.

Reese met Trey’s stare with his unwavering gaze, frowning and rolling his eyes at the response. Admittedly it was a fair one, even he had to admit it, and so instead the punk plopped back onto his own cot. He had half a mind to throw something else at Trey because talking was clearly not something either enjoyed. He stared for a long time at the tent ceiling, beginning to count what stitching’s he could make out; they were painfully obviously given the ‘Halloween’ aesthetic.
"… Why’d you help me?" He finally inquired, keeping his gaze lazily on the ceiling as he spoke. There were… twenty-four stitches in the ceiling he’d counted so far. Trey was seriously hoping that would be the end of talking, but fo course, that was very much not the case. He had his eyes closed by the time Reese spoke up again, and for his own peace of mind, instead of replying at first, he began signing. Just, signing his thoughts, his irritation-- basically venting. It looked like he was tuning Reese out and practicing some bizarre hand ritual with how consistently and well practiced he moved his hands, but eventually, he dropped them back down, and actually spoke up. "Yer right, I didn'. 'N ever time ya speak I regret it a little more," he replied back dryly, "But yer not worth lettin' die, no matter how much I absolutely resent yer existence." It was funny-- the whole reason he didn't talk was because his parents were so insistent on saying nice things, on "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." Because he hated lying when he had to be nice, and civil, because not talking wasn't a social option. He made it an option, the only one, specifically to avoid talking to people, to deal with that, and all the other conflicts that came from interacting with others. And yet, here he was, being brutally rude to Reese. Maybe it was because the other obviously didn't stand by that point of view at all...
... Not that Trey was providing much conversation at freaking all.

Reese caught something moving out of the corners of his eyes and turned his head to bear witness to Trey and his strange hand jiving actions. The punk stared and frowned, face contorting in confusion. "The ******** are you doing…," he murmured before Trey actually opted to speak up again. He gave a sharp, harsh little laugh at the remark and twisted about; for a moment it looked like he was about to sit up, but instead he just shifted to laying on his stomach instead, arms folding under his chin and giving an unnecessary side stare at Trey.
"Bull s**t, glitter b***h," he snarled just a bit. "Four years ago you didn’ have a problem roping me up and leaving me in a storage closet," he felt his blood boiling again at the thought, "and suddenly supposed to believe you give a <********> about my worth? ******** that. You just didn’ have the balls for it, don’t pretend that you’re some upstanding a*****e suddenly."

Trey turned and glared hard at Reese the moment he tried to call bullshit. He tried to interject, angrily -- probably the first time he ever actually wanted to talk -- but snapped his mouth shut as Reese continued to go off. His eyes narrowed, and he turned, pushing himself up on one arm. It looked like he might swing his legs off the side and stand, but before he could, something came barreling into the tent, knocking into him as it leaped up on his bed, and into his chest. "Geh!" He jerked back, but kept himself up slightly, and frowned down at what turned out to be Cherish, absolutely tangled in streams of tickets. He stared hard at the pokemon, who was twisting and fussing to get himself untangled, and once he did, sat himself on Trey's angled chest and looked up at him. A small, curious chirp came from the entrance, and Trey looked over, frowning in confusion at first. Cherish gekkered back, then turned back to Trey, tilting his head and nibbling at his chin and jawline until his trainer jerked back, at which point he turned and hopped off, running towards Shade who turned tail and bolted. Trey stared after them, still frowning, then looking down at the tickets scattered across his lap. And then back at Reese with some degree of annoyance. "... Yer right, I shoulda just let you die in yer own sick in the bog," he replied back simple, falling back onto the bed and closing his eyes, "It's not like you've got any purpose to your life. Maybe I'll go catch one of those birds and bring them back to finish the job..." He was, of course, being sarcastic, but... only kind of. Peafoul were rare, after all, and... their evolved form would do well in a contest....

Reese was readying himself for whatever garbage Trey was going to interject with, only to be caught off guard when a small fox pokemon popped out of nowhere and interrupted the tension of the moment. He watched with a bit of disgust at what could only be considered a ‘cutesy’ scene that played out, though his expression swapped to thoughtfulness. The fox looked familiar… he’d seen it earlier, with that same guy that Trey had been… signing too? He watched lazily as tickets were left abandoned for Trey to tend to, glancing lazily to the tent entrance and spotting yet another odd looking doggish pokemon. It looked a little less cutesy and more… badass, he’d say? Not out loud of course.
"Pff," he huffed. That made him briefly wonder where his own team was. He hadn’t seen any sign of Ginger or Jaxston since he’d gone to confront Trey; he wasn’t worried about them though. Ginger knew how to handle herself and Jaxston had a big enough head that whatever brains were rattling around in there would certainly help keep him out of trouble. It occurred to him that he’d left his bag behind… Ginger probably had it as well. That was something to get back when he had the chance.
Reese sneered as the pokemon left, glancing between them and then to the other boy. He was going to comment on it all when the other spoke and the punk jerked a bit. Wow, cold. Had he expected a different response? He had to think about it a moment; no he hadn’t. His blood boiled a bit though and he glared the best form of daggers he could, immediately pushing himself up and looking ready to sling himself off the cot at Trey for a second showdown. A wave of nausea stopped him though and he plopped back down with an ‘urgh’, spite on his face.
"Maybe you ********’ should," he snarled, adjusting himself a bit in the bed. It was still a hard time getting comfortable with the aches and pains coming and going. He wasn’t going to show it though. "You’re lucky glitter b***h. Because if it wasn’t for those stupid potato birds… you’d be ground in that mud instead. " His gaze narrowed further, "Still can’t fight for yourself. Still draggin’ pokemon in to save your lame a**. You’re pathetic, you know?"

Turning a dark look at Reese, Trey again moved as if to get up, though there was less tension in his posture this time. Still, there was something almost threatening about the look on his face and the calmness to his movements, so perhaps it was a good thing that it was then that something else caught his attention. Specifically, a familiar chirping, which brought his attention snapping to the tent entrance. Had those birds followed them...? He blinked when a figure moved into the entrance, a human figure, and frowned, before rolling his eyes as he recognized JR.
"Don't you two look cozy," the man mused, crossing his arms over his chest, "I figured I'd check to make sure you two hadn't killed each other. Didn't think I would actually find that you almost did." He dropped his arms and walked further in, looking Reese over. "... Looks like you got the worst of it, kid," he remarked passively.

The conversation had died quickly between the two pokemon, but only because the Axew was so viciously focused on the games. Quixote stuck about the pumpkins, digging in them violently but locating less tickets the more times he did so. When the pumpkin searches weren't producing much he'd run to the gourds that were meant to be smashed, trying his best to smash one that was larger than him, with repeatedly failed results. Maybe if he would just try a smaller one he'd have a better chance...?
