Poppy Sedgwick Poppy was not, in most situations, the type of girl one would have expected to go out wandering to a circus late at night; perpetually tired, perpetually a little bit jumpy, more known by her classmates to avoid new experiences than embrace them. It made a little more sense when you considered she was wearing a backpack, and maybe more sense still when you considered Tiberius was currently residing in said backpack, wearing a vest that marked him as an emotional support animal.
It wasn't technically a lie, if you squinted. It just wasn't necessarily true either. Mostly he provided emotional support by helping her commit murder.
She'd left the top of it unzipped so Tiberius didn't suffocate (and wouldn't that be a hell of a thing to explain to everyone else), and if he decided her shoulders were a better host than her backpack than she'd deal with it as it happened.
Syrie human convoy for his majesty tiberius
Amaris Mallette Amaris was, by nature, flashy. Amaris was, by nature, profoundly loud and overdramatic. Of course she was here for a circus - there were so few that ever seemed to drop by the city - and she needed the distraction, especially given everyone was always a little more uninhibited this time of night. Keeping an eye out for people she knew (mostly to avoid them and pretend she wasn't avoiding them) was easy, easy, easy.

Raina & Ignacio Araya
Ignacio really hadn't wanted to go to the circus.
In some ways, the idea of this circus was fascinating. Why was it only open at some times of day, specifically so late at night? What did they want to show? He would have first suspected a lewd circus if children weren't allowed to go, but they were. Otherwise, he wouldn't be going.
He was only there because his little sister wanted to go, and without him, his mother would have never let Raina go. He couldn't blame her. It was late. Eleven at night was an odd start time for anything, but especially a circus. Especially a circus that had appeared out of nowhere with no particular explanation he was honestly suspicious alre--
"Hermano let's go!" Why was her brother just standing there staring angrily at his lanyard? This was exciting! They were going to a circus! A late night circus! She bet there was stuff at a late night circus that she'd never see at a daytime circus.
She was hyped.
She grabbed her uncooperative brother's hand and nearly dragged him behind her, if not for him honestly being a bit too heavy for her to drag around (yet). He followed behind her, if a bit unwillingly, while she pulled them towards the bleachers. She picked some seats near the middle, wanting to be in an area where she could see all the action but also not wanting to be in an area where she felt like she was too high up.
They called those things nosebleeds for a reason, right?
Not that any of the seats were that high, here.
"This is so exciting, right?"
Ignacio sighed. "Sure."
... Which elicited a scoff from Raina. "Oh stop being such a baby."

Liam has started, as the tent began to fill up, think Aloysius might not show up. It wasn't that he thought ill of the other, he didn't, but he wasn't sure where they stood now. Anna was a student of the others and he...was also? He wasn't sure on that. To be honest there was a lot the orphan wasn't sure on but he did know the older man knew more about what went on in the city than he did, that much he'd learned recently.
When the other did turn up his bluegreen eyes watched as the other sat down and made himself comfortable. "Hey..." A greeting returned and the silence felt awkward...stifling even, it wasn't comfortable. Taking the time now to really look the other over, since he was seated and thus closer to Liam's own eyes, he took note that the other looked a bit..tired maybe? "Work have you tired? I mean...if you're tired you didn't need to come." The other really should take care of himself if that was the case, which he hoped it wasn't.

To his own, and probably Lori's complete and utter surprise, Landry was very excited to be here this evening. The circus never seemed to come often enough, to him, and he loved every little thing about it in his quiet and muted ways. The lights, the sounds, the costumes.... Everything seemed beautiful and perfect to him, even with the smell of rather distasteful animals wafting through the air every so often.
For once he allowed his imagination run wild, smiling every time a clown walked by or the sound check went off. He could imagine himself onstage, lights on him while he wowed the crowd with... Nothing. His spectacular traits put him on the side lines, and even in his own fantasies it was his sister who had the spotlight, not him.
That was all fine and good, he supposed. Lori deserved the spotlight more than anything.
Instead of dwelling on it like some wet napkin, he allowed himself to give Lori an earnest smile as he led her around. What sort of circus had the show start so late, he didn't know but alls well that ends well, he supposed.
"So, sis, are you excited? Maybe someone will pull you down to center ring to be clowned around with."

"KELLY LOOK! IT'S SO COLORFUL!!" The moment they arrived at the circus December was nearly exploding in excitement. Thankfully he had his finger's laced with Kelly's, her firm grasp keeping him from running off or floating away like the hyperactive balloon he was.
They were pretty colorful in their own right, wearing matching toned-down versions of their pretty frilly outfits. It wasn't too often the circus came into town, but he had the biggest urge to match the clowns and the colors as best he could, and of course begged Kelly to do so as well.
"There's so many colors!! And do you smell that? MMM!! So much good snacks! OOH look! Look, the concessions is already open! Come on, let's get come cotton candy! OOH and some popcorn and snow cones!" The show wasn't supposed to start for some time, but he still couldn't help that he wanted to see it all now! What better way to start than to fill up on sugar to have all the energy needed to bounce off every single wall?
"I'm going to get six sticks of cotton candy! What do you want?"

His Meowjesty, Tiberius
Tibs had no interest in running away with the circus.
His life was posh and grand, he wanted for nothing. But he was a conman at heart and also a garbage loving creature so the idea of the circus appealed. As did the thought of all that junk food. Thus his sauntering up to Poppy and demanding she be his conveyance into the big top.
In his cute little ESA vest - okay, so it wasn't little because Tiberius wasn't little - he was quite handsome. Less handsome stuffed in Poppy's backpack, but those were the breaks.
Tibs popped his head up and out of the open backpack, paws reaching up to brace on the girl's shoulders as his head and ears swiveled around, the sights and scents of the circus assaulting his sensitive ears and nose like an endless parade of full dumpsters on a sweltering day.
Glorious.
Tapping her shoulder the Mauvian directed her to the concessions before she could even think of sitting down. "Food. Pops, I came for the food. Not the show." Now, she could take this a few ways. Tiberius would have been fine with his mint-haired moped taking a seat and letting him lose to go hunt food on his own - he was a scavenger of some considerable talents, after all - or she could do the upright thing and get him a goddamn hotdog straight up. Which would let him scavenge later.
"Circus food is barely classifiable as edible, which is why it's so great." The Mauvian sounded extremely excited as he happily crooned his con into her ear, the movement of his mouth hidden from other humans seeing it by the confusion. And possibly her hair.
Daekie Yes good, he appreciates his conveyance

Cynthia sighed as she and Stacey walked into the tent. She had only met Stacey and while she wasn’t intimidated by the older girl, she was intimidated by clowns. Who wasn’t? She promised herself she wouldn’t spend any money tonight on the circus to support it, and she had only been invited because the two Wolf brothers had school the next day and neither of them were able to make it.
Stacey had apparently invited Tom, her boyfriend, first, however he was studying for midterms and unable to come. When she asked if Jason would like to come instead, Stacey had asked Cynthia, who had been at Tom’s apartment with the two brothers at the time, if she wanted to come instead. Cynthia had decided that it might be a fun time, even though clowns were extremely creepy, and Stacey had picked her up on the night that they were able to go. If there was one thing that was nice about her school, it was very weak to snow, and had cancelled school for 3 out of 5 days of the week, and Cynthia wondered why they had even bothered.
They stepped into the tent, Cynthia feeling a yawn coming but suppressed it, as she was extremely nervous for some reason. Something about all of this was giving her some form of anxiety and she really didn’t like the feeling of being in this tent. It would have been better if they were in some building that couldn’t be taken down by some strong gust of wind. She let out a strong sigh, trying to contain her nervousness.
Stacey for her part, never really wanted to go to this place. She had gotten the tickets when they were shoved into her hands by one of the workers of the gym. Apparently, none of them had wanted to go either, and were trying to foist the tickets onto some poor unsuspecting sap. Why they didn’t just burn or tear up the tickets instead, Stacey wasn’t sure, but it would have been what she did. And she could have started a nice fire with it too. So, they were forced into her hands, and before she could smack them against the face of her ticket-giver, said person was gone. She had thought about throwing away the tickets into the trash, where they belonged, but she had never been to a circus herself and so while she thought they were ridiculous, decided to try and see what it was all about, though she doubted she would enjoy it.
She had gone over to Tom’s apartment, having been allowed to come over when she wanted now, and had met with him, his brother Jason, and Jason’s girlfriend, Cynthia hanging out there. Well, not so much as hanging out as the two brothers were having a freakout over school stuff, while Cynthia tried to de-stress her boyfriend a bit. So, while Stacey had asked the two brothers if they had wanted to go, she figured that they would say no, and decided to ask Cynthia if she wanted to go with her. Surprisingly the girl had said yes, and it seemed that the other girl hadn’t been to a circus either, so it would be a new experience for both of them. And luckily since Stacey wasn’t in school, and Cynthia’s school seemed pretty wimpy, they would both be able to go and sleep the entire next day if they had to, since the circus was at night.
Stacey sighed as they entered and sat down, wondering why they had to be in a tent when there were such things as stadiums with retractable roofs. Was there even a point to the tents anymore? She grunted as she sat down with Cynthia, trying to get the other girl to relax. “Cynthia, it’s all right. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if we fell asleep.” She said to the other girl, grinning a bit.

Kelly Chriscaden
Kelly had been a little skeptical about going to the circus, but eventually she had been persuaded by December to join him, and honestly…now that she was here, she was terribly excited. The outfits had been his idea, but she liked them. It was cute, dressing like your best friend and she enjoyed it.
“That sound so good, Dessy,”
She laughed and squeezed his hand tightly, trying to pull him a bit closer. There were quite a few people here and the last thing that she wanted was for him to get lost and for her to end up alone here…well, she couldn’t handle that so she just had to keep a tight hold on her friend.
“Do you really need six though? I mean, cotton candy is good…but I think that funnel cake is so much better, so we should get some of that too, okay? So how about three sticks of cotton candy and two funnel cakes to share?”
It seemed like a good compromise to her, at any rate.

Kailey O'Carroll
Ok so she was definitely not telling Alex's mom how late the show actually was going to be running. But she hadn't lied when she said she'd be taking her kid sister to the circus, and that she'd just have Alex stay over her place that night after. No problem.
She took the lanyard and quickly put it on, grinning at the kid and laughing at her energy. Even that late at night seemed boundless. "Happy to do it, kiddo," she chuckled, returning the hug with an arm squeeze around Alex's shoulders and a brief peck against her hair. She was a bit nervous about the guardian being about, though more out of concern he might be chased away, or perhaps if they had other animals there in the circus that wouldn't mind a meal on paws...
She lifted a hand to the feline perched on her shoulder though, not remotely minding the passenger as she gave his ears a quick scratch. "Stay close, alright, Hani? Don't need you ending up lion chow." Still, she followed Alex towards a collection of empty seats. Pausing at the end of the row, she glanced at the two and then towards concessions. "Still have time to get some snacks if you guys want anything. You might get sleepy soon, being so late after all," she added with a tease, winking at Hania. He might not be able to talk much, though if he did want anything, she figured he could just join her in grabbing the snacks or even whisper something to her.
Not that she really needed Alex or him hyped up on sugar but...
She perked up when a familiar voice spoke up, taking little time in spotting Lulu. "Hey! Yeah should be pretty neat, though haven't seen much yet for what they'll be doing." Motioning to the dim lighting and red and white though, she snorted. "Can see how it falls under the theme of Queen of Hearts." Well. Ok so it was called, from the sounds of it, Queen's Heart but still. "We've got plenty of seats in the row here, chill with us."
Still standing in the aisle in case Alex and Hania wanted some food or drinks, never mind wanting to grab her own, she managed to spot another familiar face and quickly lifted a hand, trying to flag the blonde down. "Hey! Eva! Over here!" She even gave a sharp whistle when the other didn't immediately look over, and promptly ignored any disapproving looks she might have gotten for it.

Lilith Calchas
Oh jeeze. Date... number three. Technically. New Years counted as a date, right? Khaleel was more than growing on her. He was sweet, affectionate--ok perhaps at times more so than she was in return, but it wasn't a bad thing. A bit more reserved, Lilith was finding herself starting to test waters a bit more, taking a bit more of a page of his book so to speak. So when he asked her to the circus, she'd been delighted. His energy was infectious as ever, and she'd not stopped smiling since they arrived. As he put the lanyard and pass around her neck, she'd caught his hand and gave it a squeeze. "Thank you for inviting me! I wonder if they'll have any trapeze stunts or animals in the show?" She thought back to the last circus she'd seen, years ago. "I saw one when I was little. There was a woman who did acrobatics in the air with silks, I think. It was beautiful." Before the accident, of course, but her mood didn't falter as she thought of one of the old memories. "Have you ever seen a circus before?" He'd said American, so perhaps he'd seen one elsewhere..?
There'd certainly still be enough for her to experience at this show--she could still hear, smell, and really over the years that'd come to provide her plenty. Even just spending more time with Khaleel though was wonderful in and of itself. She could smell some of the different foods and laughed. "Do you want some cotton candy? I think they have hotdogs and other things, too." Typical food for such events, but immensely enjoyable.
Her head tilted though as she thought she heard other familiar voices in the crowd. There were too many other sounds and people talking for her to be certain, however.
