July 13th: 12 | 1 Prompt Response: I thought we would soar over the rocks and river altogether, my Arcanine and me. But we misjudged the length of the river and soon, its depth. We splashed around in dislike, before emerging from the water, soaking wet and irritable. Arcanine shook out his coat, turning into a giant poofball and I climbed onto his back once more, comforted by the warmth I found there. Well, it wasn't the best start, but we were determined to catch up to the few who had made it across without any incident.
July 14th: 11 | 1 Prompt Response: If you weren't aware, Arcanines are large Pokemon who stand over six feet tall. They aren't lithe creatures either and happen to be terribly bulky (it's not just floof after all.) So naturally, when we saw the thin mountain path, we both got pretty intimidated. Luckily, Arcanine was able to stay on the path, but I took a nasty tumble over the side. I'm not sure if I would have preferred landing on the hard ground over the bite Arcanine gave me as he tried to catch me. It stung like a MotherFluffer, but he got me back on the edge and managed to hold up some others in the race at the same time, so I guess there could be worse things? Still, I hope there's a rest stop with a Nurse Joy somewhere down the line of this race! Ouch!

July 13th: [3] | [ 1 ] Prompt Response: "I know Pika, it doesn't look good, but we have to cross it to even have a chance of winning.." We'd set off at the beginning full of confidence but one look at the first obstacle and we both wavered. Crossing took forever as we both slipped multiple times on the water slick rocks and I ended up with an arm full of soggy & grumpy fur at the other side.
July 14th: [6] | [ 1 ] Prompt Response: By the time we'd reached the next obstacle, we were both pretty dried out, though Pika was still shooting me icy glares. Heights weren't really my thing though and it was with trepidation that we edged across a thin ledge. Pika managed it with little incident and I was almost across when my foot turned on a loose stone and slipped, only managing to just stop myself from tumbling all the way down. With turned ankle and bruises, I limped to safety and joined Pika on the other side.

July 13th: [14] | [#1] Prompt Response: It was better to be safe than sorry. There would be time to try to catch up later in the race after all. Yet despite trying to be careful, our team still managed to slip and fall painfully onto our butts, leaving us to pick ourselves up and hurry along to try to catch up with the others in the race.
July 14th: [11] | [#1] Prompt Response: Somewhat disheartened by our earlier failure to clear the obstacle during our first attempt and anxious over the need to catch up with the rest of the competitors, that only proved to be our downfall when we found ourselves falling from the ledge shortly after attempting to cross it. Ouch!

July 13th: 10 | 1 Prompt Response: With careful steps, I try to make my way across the stones. My faithful Pokemon that will fit there ride upon my shoulders which... Really doesn't help balance, does it?
This proves a huge problem as I stumble on the rocks and fall in the water.
July 14th: 12 | 1 Prompt Response: It's about this point I realize it might be prudent to put my partner in their ball. There's no way I could possibly squeeze on this ledge with them on my shoulder! And I don't want them to try and make that on their own, either! So I draw their ball to try and get them back in.
They refuse, settling more firmly on my shoulder. Once again this proves unbalancing and I soon find myself falling. Again. Ouch.

July 13th: [20] | [3] Prompt Response: The start of the race and the excitement was high. With so many around it was easy to get lost in that excitement. Even my Ponyta was nearly bouncing off her hooves. With gentle patting and whispers she settled. With the start of the race, Ponyta raced forward towards the stepping stones. Being a sure footed pokemon, ponyta raced across the stones with little problem. Taking flight towards the next obstacle in the path a head.
July 14th: [17] | [3] Prompt Response: That thin ledge, as sure footed as Ponyta was, I didn't want to risk one false step. Leading the pokemon over the obstacle, it was clear sailing once on the other side.

July 13th: [20] | [3] Prompt Response: The race started and we take off as fast as we can. I say we since I'm sitting on top of my Arcanine and he's pretty excited about the race. We soon reach the first obstacle, a river with stepping stones. "Let's do this!" I yell just before he leaps to the middle stepping stone and then the other side. We clear the river in a breeze and listen to people not so fortunate fall in as we rush away.
July 14th: [11] | [1] Prompt Response: With a big Arcanine as my partner this ledge obstacle would be one of our hardest to overcome. "Nice and easy boy." I say as we begin to inch our way across. It doesn't go very well and we almost fall down several times. It wasn't until we reached the end that my Arcanine loses his balance and begins to fall over the edge. Somehow he manages to grab onto the ledge so I can scramble safely to the ground on the other side. He falls down some but manages to scramble up to safety looking a little tired. It's after the fact that it dawned on me that I could have put him back in his pokeball.

July 13th: [3] | [1] Prompt Response: So the first obstacle was water. Not the best way to begin, but hey, we could do this. 'Tini would have no problems whatsoever, but me on the other hand... slow and steady wins the race. So I took it one step at a time. And things looked like they were going well, when near the middle of the river my natural clumsiness kicked in and I tripped over my own two feet, sliding off the rocks and into the chilly waters. Luckily dratini was there and able to help me make it to the other side.
July 14th: [2] | [1] Prompt Response: The trail was more than a little tricky, and my footing was more than a little bit unsure. I hated heights, and with every step across this narrow path all I could do was look down and imagine myself falling to and getting hurt or worse dying. So I sent my dratini along ahead, closed my eyes and prayed as I tried to make my way across. There was no slipping and no catastrophes, but my caution and slowness had made us fall behind. Hopefully we were past the worst of it and could make it up further along.

July 13th: [20] | [3] Prompt Response: Hesitating only for a minute at the side of the stream we take one look at each other and know there's nothing to do but go for it. We hop quickly from stone to stone and find ourselves on the otherside without incident. On to the next!
July 14th: [12] | [1] Prompt Response: A narrow ledge, at least we aren't afraid of heights, normally. We carefully slide along the edge but it's too narrow and my foot slips nearly sending me over the side. Luckily I'm able to regain balance and keep my partner safe. We make it to the other side but the fumble cost us time. Have to hurry!

July 13th: [19] | [3] Prompt Response: Coming to the stepping stones and rushing river, Sceptile and I narrow our eyes in determination. With great agility we speed through the stones and avoid the raging waters like it was nothing at all.
July 14th: [2] | [1] Prompt Response: Sceptile and I glared at the narrow pass but nodded to ourselves. We had to push onward. Doing the best we could we faced off with the narrow space but lost our footing several times. It took all the moves we had not to fall completely downards but it cost us precious time.

July 13th: [18] | [3] Prompt Response: Although water was not one of my Rapidash's favorite things to be around she gave a hard whiny, lowered her glorious head and ran like the wind. Her hooves made a steady beat against the rocks and she glided from rock to rock without missing a beat in her steps. The wind felt good against my face and I leaned down closer to her mane and closed my eyes for a moment to just feel the sensations and all of a sudden she stopped. I popped open my eyes to see that she had crossed all the rocks effortlessly and looked around to see that a few others unfortunately did not make it. Realizing I could not help I nudged her on to the next obstacle in this course.
July 14th: [2] | [1 of points obtained] Prompt Response: Rapidash running at full speed, her hooves pounding loudly against the dirt and grass whinnying occassionally as if she was enjoying the exercise and wind slowed just a fraction as we hit the mountain. Reining her in to gauge the narrow ledge that came into view, Rapidash danced a bit backwards, her back hoof caught the side of the ledge and we tumbled backwards. Rapidash's hoof was hurt a bit so we rested for a while knowing we should be able to catch up.

I will WIN this race!Username: Candle Wick Ghost Have you won a soquili?: yes Have you won a familiar?: no July 13th: [ 1 ] | Roll [ 1 ] Prompt Response: Amid the swell of pokemon and trainers sprinting carelessly towards the first obstacle of the race, Arcanine and his trainer were perilously trying to weave out the way of the stampede, finding themselves being thumped back in to the masses as the contestants approached a stretch of river bedecked with stones. Digging his paws in to the earth, the two of them came to an abrupt halt and for a moment they could breathe easy as they watched the many slip from the rocks. Unprepared for the collision, with a rapid blow to the rear, the pair careered in to the unforgiving current. July 14th: [ 7 ] | Roll [ 1 ] Prompt Response:After engaging in a scrimmage with the first obstacle, Arcanine and Wicky mounted the river bank. Thoroughly drenched and weighted by the contemporary impediment, the duo made haste in their efforts to regain ground. Clambering up the hillside, they were soon met with the second hurdle. Pausing in their stride, they exchanged a fretful glance. Unwilling to risk their lives, they turned away from the narrow ledge and sought an alternative route.
