Inspired by my favorite original pokemon episode, you will take on the task of entering the Great Pokemon Race! Choose a pokemon, any pokemon to assist you. You and your pokemon ally will face many obstacles along the way. Will you two succeed in finishing across the goal line first? Or will you force a photo-finish between yourself and another racer? Time to put your bets in!
All Soquili shop and event rules apply. Follow gaia ToS. You may win ONE soquili and familiar freebie, ONE paid soquili and familiar, and ONE auction soquili and familiar. A win in this game will count as one of your freebie slots. You may pass on an event freebie only once. Do not delete your post. I will give you one re-roll if you mess up (ex: you forget to roll in your initial post) If you must bow out of the game, please make a new post and quote me. No proxies allowed. I have randomized a number between 1 and 20. [Proof of Randomization] Read my daily prompt and note the number attached to it. Prompts will be spoilered with a heading above indicating the day that prompt is for. (When the prompt is no longer applicable. I will notate in red) Roll 1 20 sided dice. If you roll higher than my number, you easily clear the obstacle and continue on course to the finish line, you earn 3 points. if you roll lower than my number, you stumble over the obstacle and fall behind, you earn 1 point. If you match my number, you just make it through the obstacle and continue onwards, although it was a very close call. You earn 2 points. After you have rolled and find out your number, edit in an rp response of you and your pokemon. The winner is the person who earns the most points. If there are multiple people who have the most points, winner will be rolled for.

The great race as just begun! You take off at top speed, confident and ready to go. You come upon your first obstacle, stepping stones across a river. But you notice the water is rushing around the stones quickly, making them very slippery. You're concerned about falling in and worse, getting you or your pokemon partner injured. How do you react and respond?

Continuing onward, urging your pokemon partner to not give up, you two wind your way up the hillside and into the mountains. You soon come across your next major obstacle, a skinny ledge with minimal room for failure. One wrong step and you both will fall to the bottom. You note that many injuries have happened here in the past, how will you and your pokemon partner get across safely?

You've made it through the first two obstacles, what will happen next? As you and your pokemon partner settle in for the next leg, a thick forest, you hear screeching and yelling from behind. Turning around you spot multiple racers being dive bombed by beedrill and sperrow are throwing rocks down upon their heads. A surprise noise from your pokemon partner alerts you to various low hanging branches and multiple twists and turns. One wrong move and you'll be flat on the ground. One wrong move and you'll be pelted with rocks and stingers. How do you overcome this?

Without a doubt that last obstacle was a close one. Coming out of the forest you enter a wide, gorgeous, grass covered valley covered in wild flowers. This is where you get a short respite in the craziness that came before. Just be careful of any holes in the ground. Don't want to stumble and hurt a leg.

Coming into the last stretch of the race you can hear the spectators cheering. It's going to be a close call with many of the other racers. Some of which, you notice, are using some less than honorable means to get ahead. You watch as one racer has their pokemon kick dirt in another racer's face. Another "accidentally" pokes another pokemon in the eye. You're coming up to the main group, will you get out unscathed and win it all?

July 13th: [7] | [1] Prompt Response: As we dash off from the finish line, we're filled with confidence. Our steps are steady and sure. At least, until we reach the first obstacle. Water?! Seriously?! I glance down at my Flareon, concerned about him potentially falling in. With a heavy sigh, we decide to make a go of it. We immediately regret it. We're on the third stone when the slick surface causes me to lose my balance. As I start to fall, my Flareon jumps from my arms onto the opposite bank. I'm dunked in the cold water, but happy to know my little buddy made it across safely. Soon enough I scramble from the water. I'm wet and cold, but we need to press on. And that's exactly what we do. On to the next!

July 13th: [17] | [2] Prompt Response: So this was it, the start of the greatest race of all. We were ready. We'd trained for this. Jolteon tensed underneath me and I gently ruffled his neck ruff before the echoing bang of the starting gun took us both by surprise. However it was a momentarily lapse. Soon we found ourselves in the middle of the leading pack. As we came to the first obstacle I noted that some of my fellow racers weren't having luck on the stepping stones. "Let's show them how it's done Jolti."
Jolteon began leaping from stone to stone, sure-footed and swift. It was the last stone that almost proved our undoing. Jolti's foot slipped on the wet rock but he fought to stay on and surely enough with one more well-timed jump we were across the water and on the way once more. We'd set off at the beginning full of confidence but one look at the first obstacle and we both wavered. Crossing took forever as we both slipped multiple times on the water slick rocks and I ended up with an arm full of soggy & grumpy fur at the other side.

July 13th: [20] | [3] Prompt Response: The race started and we take off as fast as we can. I say we since I'm sitting on top of my Arcanine and he's pretty excited about the race. We soon reach the first obstacle, a river with stepping stones. "Let's do this!" I yell just before he leaps to the middle stepping stone and then the other side. We clear the river in a breeze and listen to people not so fortunate fall in as we rush away.

Watching the water rush by gave us both pause, forcing us to think together about how to get through this without problems. I grabbed my partner and proceeded across, but the rocks were just too slippery and into the water we fell. We'll have to make up time and distance as soon as possible.

But it wasn't okay, which was made evident when we went crashing into the water. We struggle, both weak swimmers, until we finally reach the bank and try and re-enter the race.

July 13th: [3] | [1] Prompt Response: So the first obstacle was water. Not the best way to begin, but hey, we could do this. 'Tini would have no problems whatsoever, but me on the other hand... slow and steady wins the race. So I took it one step at a time. And things looked like they were going well, when near the middle of the river my natural clumsiness kicked in and I tripped over my own two feet, sliding off the rocks and into the chilly waters. Luckily dratini was there and able to help me make it to the other side.
