I usually have to have a good think about what I enter, because usually I have to write it. If I had to make this for this competition, I'd never finish it in time. So if you're writing, you're pretty good with time XD
Oh gosh, if I were writing, I'd never get this finished. xD Creative writing is my weak point. I started a drawing yesterday, plan to tweak it a little tonight, and post it. ;3 So it worked out.
Well I can't draw so whatever anyone else draws is like sorcery to me XD Good luck!
*laughs* I feel the same way about drawing too. XD My art has been forever stuck at "I'm rusty." ...but rusty art is waaaaaay better than my attempts at writing.. or poetry. D;
Aw your entry is so cute! I remember stuff like that (says the person who definitely gives a third of the space on the bed to a horde of stuffed plushies.) No more tea parties, but I tell you, if you want a comfy reading position, you can't do better!
So interesting to see from other people's interpretations.

Oh thanks! I actually haven't looked at the other entries yet (but plan to!). I didn't want to be influenced and accidentally take someone's idea of friendship (or just get it stuck in my head).
Thank you for the wonderful entry and the opinion your wrote on the top. I agree with you on considering ourselves our closest friends - I wish I'd learned that sooner.
When you get the chance, do you mind copy pasting your art entry in the form on the second post here: [link], just so I can have a record of it here in the thread. Thanks! heart

● Notes: Explanation:
The person in the lower half is me, I have my desktop at the foot of my bed so I lay on my stomach to play usually and I tried to fill in about what my area looks like from the figurines all over the window sill by my bed to my bedside table with my lamp and coffee mug. My stuffed animals. The large speakers that sit on the floor on the sides of my screen.
Then on the top half we have my friend Colored_Markerz. Shes been the best for a long time, ive known her longer than anyone else except my mom! I met her before my dad walked back into my life and before I met any of my half-siblings so shes really my BEST friend! She might live on the other side of the USA from me but I feel like I know her better than anyone else. I drew a computer on a desk for her since from our correspondence I know she uses one, a wastebasket beside it full of trash because she always talks about how messy she is, and a bed beside her computer with a stuffed animal because I know she has stuffed animals and I personally like my computer to be near my bed so I have easy access. I also know she has posters all over her walls of Rooster Teeth and RWBY, but her desk is against a wall, not beside any, so didnt need to draw them. Much of her room is fuzzy for me because we mostly talk about her school and my house, Animal Crossing and Pokemon, my snake/mice and her boyfriend, Her whole family and my parents, ect.
ALSO Sorry its not a very high quality image, I got my art tablet very recently and im still trying to learn how to use it- and every time I try to color something I keep failing miserably so right now im just trying to get the drawing part down before I try for color, lol.

Thats totally fine, im just silly and didnt look hard enough. Also, I am sick with pneumonia right now so this might not happen but I was considering cleaning up the sketch lines, if I do update the picture at all do I just edit the post or what? That was just a quick entry because this is something I feel passionately about. I dont plan to change the image, just might clean up the lines if I feel up to it.

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you feel better! If you're not feeling well though I don't want you to push yourself to clean it up if you don't want to. If you do decide to do it, you can go ahead and quote me with the new one (you don't have to put it in a form, just by itself is fine!)
Since there's so many amazing entries, an Honorable Mention has been added!

I have a question!
(And it's an odd one, so I apologize in advance.)
May I submit an entirely original poem that has a slightly-modified Little Prince quote as a title? The title is important to the meaning of the poem, but it is essentially a quote, so I do not know whether this crosses a line in terms of original content.

I hope I feel better too, I JUST got it. I managed not to catch it from anyone in my house but then my boyfriend gave me a ride home the other day when I missed my bus and he had it so I got it when I kissed him. Thanks so much c: Having pneumonia is boring so its nice to have something to do if I want.

Thank you very much!
Not an odd question at all! What you can do is leave the quotation marks and citation in your title so we know where it's coming from, so it'll look something like "[words] (The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery);" if it's slightly modified like you mentioned, you can say something like "inspired by" or "adapted from a quote from" etc.
I believe the line between original and copying - and most people would agree - is when it's word for word and not credited. For me, as long as it's clear where a quote or phrase is being taken from, you can definitely write some original contest inspired by it. Hope this answers your question!

Aww emotion_8c I get you, oddly enough I'm most productive when I'm sick, lol. Maybe it's because I don't feel like doing anything and when I do decide on something, that's all I'll be focusing on? I don't understand my body sometimes, haha.

it is 12:04 pm and i am walking down the street with my friend and they laugh and we share a moment, i talk over them a little and they laugh harder
it is time for lunch, so we are heading somewhere mutually enjoyable (imagine, for yourself, whether it is the ice cream shop or a deli or one of those frilly fancy bakeries where you can get either a scone or a wedding cake) and we waste quite a bit of time on the way mostly because we stop to look at snails and once they tell me a meme which i do not understand, and they have to stop and explain it to me but otherwise, yes, we are on our way sort of patiently dilly-dallying, and eventually, i suppose, we must arrive in this fantasy (yes? that is what happens when you are making your way somewhere, generally you will arrive) and the conversation stops for a sort of short debate on what specifically both of us should get (because we want to match, you know) and i think in this fantasy i get the sweetest thing available, and they get something slightly less sweet (because their teeth hurt, you see, they absolutely never brush them) and we both sit down together and i think about how i could be almost anywhere reading, doing work, or sitting in the lap of a very attractive boy because i’m not very hungry, really, and i only came along because they asked but i’m not doing any of those things no i’m sitting, eating with my friend.
● Notes: Mm, really it's just a fun fantasy dream idea of me hanging out with my best pal ; u ; Nothing deeper than that. ● Would you like your entry featured in the "Entries" post? (Yes/No): Yes ^ u ^

Childhood Tea Party is a creative take on the theme. The colors and perspective really adds to the nostalgic atmosphere of the whole drawing. I love how soft it looks and how the focus is placed on the toys. Well done!

I love the pacing and imagery of this poem. Its relatability and simple statements make it a beautiful piece that perfectly captures the theme. The ending lines really stood out to me, and it concludes the poem exceptionally well.
I want to describe my best friend of 16 years. Her loyalty means a lot. Why? Because every person i have known has left or abandoned me including family. I am not a bad person, or a trouble maker. But, i went through a period of severe depression. I was negative, bitter, and suicidal. During that time i was on meds that made me act crazy. When this happened, everyone left me, all but my best friend, and God. If it werent for her i would not be alive. I still have some issues, but i am happy and no longer suicidal. She stck by me through the good and the bad and never left my side. Now she is my roommate and we are like family. To sum up, friendship to me is loyalty, that person who says they are your friend and means it. The person who forgives your mistakes and supports you. The person who sticks with you even more than family. The person who accepts you as you are and not what they think you should be. My best friend is that, and more, she even saved my life.
Friendship Means Loyalty is a simple but powerful statement on how deeply friendship can affect us. I was moved by how straightforward and honest this entry was. Thank you for sharing.
