"What Friendship Means to Me"
To me Friendship, is being there for each other no matter what. Telling each other things I would never tell anyone else & knowing they will keep the secrets I tell them. Listening to them & keeping their secrets. Being there for each other when one of you need help. Having each others back in all circumstances.. Being able to trust them with your life & anything in your life. I don't use the word Friendship lightly. I only have a handful that I call friends, & 1 that is my Best friend of 24 years. She was there when my husband had both his strokes. We didn't have a car during his second one, & where we lived, it would take way too long for EMS to get to us, but she lived across from us & when I called her she was there before I even got my shoes on & took us to the hospital, waited to find out what was going on & told me to call her if I needed anything. He was in the hospital 2 weeks, during which time she fixed several meals, & brought them to me, so I wouldn't have to buy stuff. She would get me to get clothes from home, sometimes buying me lunch, just to give me break from the hospital cuz I stayed there the whole time my husband was there.. Even tho they didn't have much money, she'd never let me pay her for anything, not even gas.. I have been there for in hard times too. When she had surgery, I stayed at the hospital by her side for a week. When her husband got off work, I'd go home & do stuff I had to do & go back so her husband could go home & sleep for work. I'd sneak her stuff in that she couldn't get in hospital & never took money from her, even tho we didn't have much either. We have been there for each other no matter what. Never asking for or expecting anything in return. That's what Friendship means to me. There has been many other times we were there for each other, but I can't list them all.
I don't really know if this is how I was suppose to do this or not, but it is what the true meaning of what Friendship means to me. Being there for each when you need the other no matter what.
Hello! Thank you so much for your lovely entry! When you have time, I was wondering if you could copy paste your entry and fill out the form at the end of the second post: [link] Thank you!
As for the Navigation, it might depend on your computer or what browser you're using. If you're on Chrome, it should bring up a search bar at the top right where you can type in the words. It looks like this:
It's not really necessary to use it - it's just there for convenience - since scrolling will do the same. It might have been set to zoom in your computer instead of search/find keyword. It's also very useful when you're doing research or looking for specific phrases in long articles. Hope that clarified it a bit!

This is a very interesting concept and I think I have something which fits the bill. Usually I submit a writing thing but...
(OMG I had to download Shazam just to find the song I used! Public domain and all, but still!)

Friendship, to me, means my dog. She was always happy to see me (no-one's ever been that happy to see me since. That's a thing I miss, having her see me get home and lose her freaking mind, like I didn't come home every day.), and we didn't start out as great friends, but we got on very well for most of the time. I think. When she died, I made this video because I wanted to do something really concentration-heavy. I wasn't coping really well and I still don't. I miss her a lot. Nobody ever saw the really crap side of me and got over it except her, if you get me. Interesting side note, the picture at the end of the song is my favourite one, it's of my dog sitting next to my parrot, who was also a really awesome friend of mine and it's not the kind of picture you see very often- usually it's a parrot about to be eaten by a dog, but actually the parrot used to bite the dog if it got too close. Then they'd sleep on the same bed. (It was a big bed)
Photos are mine (I think I took the one at the end, but it could have been Mum. But I think it was me) The alphabet was from Cross Sticthers Club but I think it's closed down now. It was public domain. The backstitch alphabet is my invention, based off my handwriting. The inspiration for the design was from Etsy. She sells other dog breeds with hearts patterns. The song I used for the background was Dark Times by Kevin MacLeod (that's just one place to find the music, it's in the public domain and I couldn't find this particular song on his website)
Just to make it abundantly clear, I'm not entering the cross stitch as an entry, or else I'd just upload a finished picture, the entry is the video of the making of it and steps of grief and the time it took and the love it took because of the loss of a friend.

● Excelscia: ● Type of Entry: (Writing: general description ● Friendship means Loyalty: ● Entry:
I want to describe my best friend of 16 years. Her loyalty means a lot. Why? Because every person i have known has left or abandoned me including family. I am not a bad person, or a trouble maker. But, i went through a period of severe depression. I was negative, bitter, and suicidal. During that time i was on meds that made me act crazy. When this happened, everyone left me, all but my best friend, and God. If it werent for her i would not be alive. I still have some issues, but i am happy and no longer suicidal. She stck by me through the good and the bad and never left my side. Now she is my roommate and we are like family. To sum up, friendship to me is loyalty, that person who says they are your friend and means it. The person who forgives your mistakes and supports you. The person who sticks with you even more than family. The person who accepts you as you are and not what they think you should be. My best friend is that, and more, she even saved my life.

I'd like to enter, but the only ideas coming to mind are things I've already entered into this contest. XD So I guess I'm not struck with the creative bug right now.

how blessed you were to have such a friend!

Thanks 4laugh I think so. She was so friendly to everyone. She should have been a poodle or some other kind of dog with a good reputation because she unintentionally scared people. It's possibly the same with people; some people are judged on their appearance to be scary but if you are friends with them, they're the best friends? Like Hagrid or something?

I'm married to one like that. He's very big and loud and gruff. But he's a soft-hearted teddy bear when you get to know him as I do.

D'aww ^_^ I bet people get freaked out when he smiles at them? That's what happened to Tisha. She'd smile and show all her teeth and people would think she was snarling. Tradesmen would be afraid sweatdrop

Aw, poor Tisha just trying to be nice. No, my hubby rarely smiles (part of what makes him so scary). But if he does, it's a very nice smile. biggrin
