Poor Alice. emo
@Vay; Lol, thanks. <3 So uh... I think I've missed something, but with these assignments, do we PM them to you or do we get our characters to write them and then hand them in, or what?

Bourgeoisie Alice V This insomnia is killing my brain. So, like... I hope it's okay if my reply in the class is a bit short. With... short, simple (possibly grammatically incorrect) sentences. gonk Don't worry, you're doing fine. You can come back and clean up any errors later (though none really jumped out at me). And I'm not the sort to demand long posts so long as you do something with what you do put out there. Which you did. Last night was a bad one for insomnia here too so we definitely sympathize. Mel kept me up till 3, I kept her up till 5. We both had work at 8. Twas unpleasant. Watervoir @Vay;Lol, thanks. <3 So uh... I think I've missed something, but with these assignments, do we PM them to you or do we get our characters to write them and then hand them in, or what? Don't worry about the past assignments, all but the intro is being waived for late students and you already did the intro. As for the upcoming assignments, get them typed up in some sort of word processor and save them so you'll have them ready when I ask for them in game. Most will be posted directly but some will be PM. You'll get instructions once the assignment is actually given. I'm just putting them here early to give those who read this thread a head start.

@Watervoir: Thanks. emo Ivaylo_Sai Don't worry, you're doing fine. Phew, that's a relief. Thanks.
It's getting really bad. Not being able to sleep for 20-30 hours at a time. And add that to having to work on the computer for ten hours straight everyday (giving me migraines which lead to me feeling nauseated at the sight of a computer)... Well, let's just say that I'm lucky if I can post complete sentences, haha. sweatdrop
Anyways, wow that's awesome. Lots of posts in a short amount of time~ I think I'll... read them later though. (Since my head is about to explode all over my desk and monitor.) Hopefully I'll be able to think of a question to ask by then. 'Cause I certainly can't think of any to ask.
Also, I think a bunch of the things mentioned in this post sound really neat. I want a sig badge~ And I think putting the Academy in the spotlight would be neat. Especially considering the guild's name is The School of Dedicated Roleplayers and all. So what if you're signed up for two different classes that are running at the same time? Do we pretend that we're not in two places at once? Or do we have to only take one of them at a time and then take the other one later..?
Okay, I'm rambling now. I'm going to go lay down and (hopefully) sleep, or at least make this migraine go away so I can write decently. See y'all later~

I could perhaps craft us pixel arts of something.
My understanding for teaching-and-learning is that the student character is separate from the faculty character (for instance, while in PSY 101 I use Tombstone, while teaching LIT 101 I use myself).
Good luck with the sleeping.
(Fact: It can be awkward when insomnia folks wish non-insomnia folks good luck for sleeping when forgetting that for most people that is an entirely irrelevant response)

Pixel arts! <3
What happens to people who are just learning and are in two classes? So we have two RP characters?

For those of you wanting to take two classes at once we will probably have multiple options. The simplest being FM of the sort used in Harry Potter when Hermione wanted to take multiple classes at once. Because I am orriginal xp
A second option would be to have multiple characters. Your second character would not need to go through PSY 101 but will get private tutoring to build it up.
As for sig badges, Venom play with pixel arts and I'll do up some sketches as well. Between the two of us we should be able to offer options. Anyone else an artist?
Also, as some of you may have noticed, we re-organized the subforums this week and Academy will be going in the top one (as soon as I write it up). This thread and all PSY 101 classes (possibly a few others) will stay in the main forum until completed but higher level courses will reside in the subforum along with the non-class RP interactions.
Non-class interactions will take place in location threads scattered about the Academy campus. I've a few locations picked out already but would like some suggestions if you have any.
Locations so far: - Library - Quad (courtyard between academic buildings) - Student Center (place for student activities) - Mall (courtyard between student center and academic buildings) - Bell Tower - Cafeteria - Dorms - Observatory
Aaand that's all so far. Suggestions?

I like both options for multiple classes. C:
Can't help with the fancy stuff, sorry. emotion_8c
I like that the OOC and the PSY 101 classes will be kept in the main forum. I don't know for sure about this guild, but as far as I'm aware, for most other guilds the threads in the main forum get the most attention.
Maybe include some forbidden location that students would get in trouble for entering? In any case, I personally don't think that having an excessive number of locations would be for too much benefit as then everyone would be all scattered everywhere, thereby minimizing interaction. That said though, I like the location list so far.

Oh hey. I should not forget to check up on this thread. Missed the head start. D<
umbraja: As for a location, you could probably include some sports place? Maybe a gym or a tennis court or a swimming pool.. Or something. I don't know. I'm at work right now and my brain is fried. It is almost weekend I'll think about it more later.
Alice: I hope you'll feel better soon. It sounds really awful. D:

I should remember I promised advance notice on assignment.
Next assignment:
Give your character layers. I hate to do this but you guys apparently need minimum requirements so I am looking for at least four layers with at least five character traits within each of them.
Also you've convinced us to actually give letter grades (rather than pass/fail) on these classes as some of you are obviously putting in more work and it would not be fair to them to not recognize their exemplary performance.
Transcripts will show these grades to everyone in the guild so they can know what kind of player you are.
Bad players simply will not pass (I really hope I don't have to fail anyone). Breaches of etiquette, missing assignments, appalling grammar and/or logical errors
Borderline players will get a D. Abundant grammar and/or logical errors, incomplete assignments, minor breaches of etiquette, insufficient posts, lack of participation
Casual players will receive a C. Decent technical writing but lacks style, minimum required on assignments, late assignments, casualness of play, adequate posts (don't have to be long, just Do Something with them) Note: a C is a perfectly acceptable grade if you are only here to have fun and not produce good writing.
Intermediate players will receive a B. Good technical writing with some style, above minimum required on assignments, no late work, higher dedication of play, meaningful posts. Note: Remember quality over quantity. Just because your post is ten paragraphs does not make it meaningful.
And advanced players will get an A. Exceptional style and creativity, above and beyond what is required on assignments, encouraging character interaction, meaningful and entertaining posts.

Ooh, cool! Also, for the assignment due Monday, should the major events explained in paragraphs be from the character's point of view (i.e first person) or in third person? Does it matter?
